Saw them iin the 70s as the opening act for Rod Stewart Poor Rod.... He got blown out of the venue. Amazing group and I still listen especially the live version off the 1973 album !!
UH albums from 1971 to 1978- are absolutely magic. Music of Ken Hensley, perfect instruments and gorgeous voices. Bass line in the this albums- no words. Listen to UH,solo albums of Hensley(Free spirit, Blood on the Highway,Love and other mysterious..) More and more wonderful emotions.
In the early 70's l was in college studying Comercial Art, l bought a lot of my album's because of the artistic covers, YES and Uriah Heep was some of my favorite's, of course the music was as good as the art work!😂 Great Reaction👍 Peace 😊✌️and Love your 70 year old forever Young Hippie Gary 💃 😀 🕺
I had known about this band my whole life but never made the effort. I finally listened to them a month ago and i'm sold big time. Love their music. No surprise i'm also a big Deep Purple fan.
I love Purple as well although I'm not familiar with their entire catalogue. Heep has released albums over the past 55 years with their most recent in 2023 (Chaos and Colour) which is arguable one of their best ever.
Thanks for remembering me to my youth, when I was a big fan of Uriah Heep, my favorits of their albums have been (and still are) these title from their first albums: "Salsbury" (1971) - The Park and Salisbury, "Look at Yourself" (1971) - Look at Yourself, July Morning (!), Tears in My Eyes, "Demons and Wizards" (1972) - The Wizard, Traveller in Time, "The Magician’s Birthday" - Blind Eye, Sweet Lorraine, The Magician’s Birthday and naturally their hits, Lady in Black, Easy Livin and Gipsy. I think, you will love them, too.
I first saw them live in 1971in Glasgow when still at high school saw them every tour up to the Sweet Freedom tour. David Byron was one of Rock's greatest vocalists.Loved them up to Return to Fantasty. Demons and Wizards is my fave.
One of the bands i listened to all through Jr. high and High School!! Along with Jethro Tull, up until Aqualung, then the drummer quit, and i was done. Also The first Captain Beyond, Early Deep Purple, The band Focus, but my favorite American band CACTUS!!! Cactus were badass, and better live than the records.
I first saw this group in 1972... So that gives you an idea of my age 🙄. They were always underrated but had a commited loyal fanbase... July morning is good
His voice is magical. Their albums with David Byron on vocals are magical. Their later albums aren’t too shabby either. They had an album a few years back called Wake the Sleeper that is awesome.
Starting in 1995, Heep had a series of very good albums. Sea of Light, Sonic Origami (1998), Wake the Sleeper (2008), Into the Wild (2011), Outsider (2014), Living the Dream (2018), Chaos and Colour (2023). The last two, in particular, are outstanding albums.
Uriah Heep we're a big influence on Queen, that's where Queen get the vocal harmonies and dynamics! Bird of Prey by Heep is such an example. All the best 😊
they are an underrated group but they have a rich repertoire of true gems
The entire Magicians Birthday album is fire.
Don't forget Circle of hands
This may be my favorite Uriah Heep album
Saw them iin the 70s as the opening act for Rod Stewart Poor Rod.... He got blown out of the venue. Amazing group and I still listen especially the live version off the 1973 album !!
I saw them live so many times. You want a long song? Do "Salisbury". Beautiful.
Yes. A masterpiece of progressive rock.
"Rain" on the same album is wonderfully sung.
Mellower but fantastic! 🙂
A Morning or Mourning...I bought this LP when I was about 15. One of my favorite bands. Love bands that incorporate the organ .
Just think how lucky we were .......this was our teen age music...............The Floyd, Zepp ,Santana, Moody Blues and on and on and on..... :)
Gotta be 'Salisbury', 'Paradise/The Spell' 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Heeps were a constant ingredient of my upbringing. Love them, one of the many underappreciated gems of the 70's.

Roger Dean Was the artist who did a bunch of covers back in the day! 🙂
Oh how wonderful. It's the reason as good as any to buy an album 😁💚

Uriah Heep is what they call Medieval Rock vibes.😊😊😊
This song is definitely up your alley Dominika ,really gets your heart pumping 🔥 you two teasing each other makes me laugh to cute.

Loved this entire album!! I bought it back then when l was 15 years old ❤❤❤
Roger Dean is the artist for the cover. He did Yes' Fragile and many other prog rock covers. I used to buy any album with a Roger Dean cover.
Thank you 😊👍
the titelsong of this album from Uriah Heep
" The Magician's Birthday' is with near 13 minutes very long but definitely it worth to react to it
One of the best rock-metal band🤘

Really good album and song
NOW YOUVE DONE IT…!!! I GOTTA GO LISTEN TO SOME HEEP…. ONE OF MY TOP FIVE FAVOURITE BANDS. 👏 ROCK ON 👊🖖

Love to hear you guys react...Don't forget it's a beautiful day White Bird...No one else seems to review it. Maybe you will.
Been a while since I heard this. Still sounds good.

Also have a song with a Orchestra combine. Song Salisbury
Never heard this one! Thanks for digging into a deep cut!
I'm not sure why but as a youngster, I never got into Uriah Heep! I may have to check more of their songs out, I really like this one!
You need to check out Circle of hands from the Demons and Wizards album
You were born too late❤
For sure 😊👍
You should hear the live version from 1972. Much heavier and so powerful.
Magicians Birthday about a Demon & Wizard shooting Spells at one another during Guitar 🎸 Solo and Drums 🥁.
❤
I am a fan of Dire straits but UH is second. Today i play more than 10 times Love or nothing. Great song.
They were as popular as Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin in the early seventies.
please dont shake your heads to much - let your faces tell us what you feel - feeled to be loved
