I'm a Brit. I grew up with this music. My friends and I went to lots of shows in the early 1970s. Wishbone Ash, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Rolling Stones, King Crimson, ELP, Hawkwind, Mike Oldfield, Supertramp, Moody Blues, Yes, Roxy Music, Thin Lizzy... The list goes on and on. I can't begin to explain how happy it makes me to see that this music, that meant so much to us, still can transcend national and cultural boundaries and bring out such joy in your faces. You guys are more than just reactors, you are shining proof that we are all connected in ways we can't begin to understand. Bravo to you both. Your love and joy is infectious.
@Darth You're absolutely right and what's more, there were hundreds of great bands around creating incredible music that didn't make the big time, like Caravan, Quintessence, High Tide, String Driven Thing, Osibisa, May Blitz and a load more.
Amazing 😍 Thank you so much for your kind words. We are having a lot of fun discovering the music from the past. And some of the artists will stay with us forever 💚
Amazing Wishbone ash...the voice and guitars
The whole album is gold.
SOLID GOLD ! :)
Wow, this takes me way back. I purchased my first stereo hi-fi back in 1970, and the first record I played on it was the eponymous first album by Wishbone Ash. After that I became a firm fan, and saw them live several times, including a gig in Leicester where a number from that concert was featured on Pilgrimage, their second album. The band are still playing live concerts, although guitarist Andy Powell is the only survivor from the original line up. Many thanks to you both, and whoever suggested this track to be played on your channel. I still have the first four albums, I will have to dig them out and start playing them again.
So you were in the audience for 'Where were you tomorrow' from the Pilgrimage album ?
Awesome ... as one band member shouts at the end of the track 'Thankyou for your voices'
One of the coolest bass lines. Great tune.
They are one of my favorites. The whole album is excellent. A great live band also.
Argus ... the first album I ever bought (back in 1973) and STILL in my personal top 10 albums. Just a fantastic album from start to finish. Without question, one of the finest albums released in the 1970s.
My favourite Wishbone Ash album 🔥🎶🎵🤌🙏💪🐝🍀🇬🇧
This song came from the album "Argus" which is one of the best albums in music history. Every song is a gem. Check out "Warrior" and "Throw Down the Sword." These 2 songs should be played together, back-to-back (Warrior first). The twin lead guitars on Throw Down the Sword will blow you away.
Throw Down The Sword, the finest album closer track I have ever heard. Yes, the twin guitars are awesome.
The 'twin guitar' ending solo was actually only played by Andy Powell whose different takes were merged together - effectively 'playing along with himself'. Ted Turner played no part.
@hairlessx11 yes I learned this only fairly recently. I wonder if this is why I've always felt that live renditions of the track never quite did justice to the brilliance of the album version.
One of those rare albums that doesn't have a single bad track on it!!
To me, that last solo by Andy Powell is perhaps the greatest in modern rock. Like all of his solos, it is clearly structured, with a beginning, a middle and an end - so much better than the flurry of shredding with no feel or form that predominates today.
you are spot on........
Agree 100%, a fantastic guitar solo
Wishbone Ash was one of my favorites back in the 70's when I first started really listening to lots of rock music, while in the US Air Force...thanks for choosing this one :)
Quite simply my favourite album! Atmosphere just pours out of it - loved it then and love it now.
Same here! 😊
Argus is one of my favourite albums of all time. Saw them live in Glasgow with my beautiful girlfriend Angela Bowman from high school in 1972 the Argus Tour.
This band i think was ((so)) underrated. They were a very "tight" band. Still going actually. They come from Torquay Devon England
Yay I love Wishbone Ash. My parents are massive fans of theirs and saw them in the 70s and 80s (I was at my first Wishbone gig in 1985 before I was born haha Mum was pregnant and they went to see them)
I’ve seen them a few times in recent years, not with the original line up but the guitarist is still going strong. And it makes me smile to see my parents still enjoying their music.
Check out “Blowin Free” by Wishbone Ash from the same album as this song. You won’t be disappointed.
Love the channel. Keep em coming. 😊
and as usual with these guys ,you better have your seat belt fastened, cause you are always in for the ride of your life !!!!!!!!!!!!
What a fabulous reaction to an incredible band . So many fantastic songs in their back catalogue. The powerful Way of the World , & Lifeline . The haunting Everybody needs a friend . The beautiful Error of my Ways & of course the epic guitar fest that is Phoenix Enjoy
YEUUUP…!!! WHEN THAT TRANSITION HAPPENED…. MY WHOLE BODY TURNED INTO ONE GIANT GOOSEBUMP. 😃 WISHBONE ASH IS IN MY TOP TEN BANDS. JAIL BAIT, TIME WAS, LEAF N STREAM,
PERSEPHONE ARE SOME GREAT TUNES. ROCK ON 👊🖖
One of my favourite songs ever from my go-to band of the 70s. Hearing this album for the first time in 72 thru a set of massive Richard Allen speakers was immense. To see them 'live' was a massive treat and I saw them several times. Super talented and so young at this time- Martin Turner still touring now at the age of 75- go see them!
Fabulous band.❤
So cool you are reacting to WishBone Ash ! Good to see you guys
You’re an adorable beautiful couple…I love watching your reaction to music…glad you’ve discovered Wishbone Ash…Sometime World is my favourite track by them, but the whole album Argus is terrific. May I recommend a new band to you called Camel, perhaps their most famous song is called Lady Fantasy from the album called Mirage, but you must listen to the original studio version off that album first, before listening to later live versions. They are still going after many lineup’s, but their first 5 albums made in the early 70’s are their best. If you have an hour space, listen to their concept album called the Snowgoose, but it must be the original one from the 70’s as they re-recorded it a few years ago, which is nice, but not the classic line up. The Snowgoose is music inspired by the beautiful short story of the same name by Paul Gallico and tells the story of a young girl who befriends a disabled man who lives in a lighthouse and has a sanctuary and heals wounded birds and together they befriend and heal a Snowgoose, but as well as being a beautiful story about their friendship and love of nature, it is told with the context of Dunkirk in World War 2 and the lighthouse keeper uses his boat to join those who sail to Dunkirk to rescue the soldiers on the beach. The album is all instrumental and very beautiful….but if you have to start with one track, start with Lady Fantasy off Mirage
Thank you for the suggestion and the info ☺️ Much love and peace from Romania 💚
👍
☝Try the smoking twin lead guitars on their tune, "Time Was".
A fabulous band. "Persephone", "Blowin' Free", Everybody Needs A Friend". So many to chose from.
One of the best rock-metal band🤘
Every reactioner does Sometime World when there’s fire elsewhere on the LP to cover. Do the entire album! Throw Down The Sword, The King Will Come, Blowing Free…. Before there was Mark Knopfler and “Dire Straits,” there was Wishbone Ash. Both Ash guitarists were amazing live.
That bass line!!
Def. consider "The King Will Come".
From the same album (Argus) check out 'Leaf and Stream', 'Throw Down the Sword', 'The King Will Come'......amazing guitar solos
The original Album cover showed that warrior (known as the Watcher') observing a UFO landing in the valley in front of him...enjoy. ☯☯☯
Ps Wishbone Ash are renowned for their great tempo changes in so many of their songs . Great musicians
I saw Wishbone Ash after the release of this album at the Rainbow Theatre in London.
Love 70s music no matter where it came from 😊
Haha, you are right. It wasn't about the country. It was about the era! 💚🎶🤘
Try "Persephone" from this band. Haunting.
The live version from Live Dates 2 is choice.
Have a soft spot for Lady Jay as well.
One of the best albums "Argus" ! The entire album is worth a listen, one side of the album is in a minor key, the other a major key.
Great band, check out blowing free by them, I reckon it will be right up your alley 👍
You have to listen to Jailbait and Blowin free.
The music (does) come from the time of progressive rock
This album cover is only half the picture. Check out the back of the album/CD to see what the soldier is looking at.
A UFO! Thank you for getting me to look…with what we are hearing about today…OMG
Oh cool. Must check it out. Thanks 👍
Just did! UFO it is! Thanks again 😀
I love you guys !! Great reacting! Listen I got a song for ya , it’s by “ Travis tritt” God bless the working man “ great song ty god bless you guys
You must listen to the Whole album of (Argus)
American music was the sixties, England seventies, 80's music was worldwide, 90's Seattle. lol
Haha, so true 💚
"If it's good it's good." Count Basie - or Duke Ellington, one or the other - said basically the same thing: "If it sounds good, it is good." They were a "guitar band", at least on this tune. Along with that amazing "lead bass." This was a time of artistic license, bands could get away with most anything. Like calling themselves Wishbone Ash for instance. What does that even mean? Just Wishbone would have been better. IMO. The original cover photo had a UFO in the sky but later editions took it out. I wonder what that was all about. Artistic license I guess
Super. Thanks for the info 😊
