Hey Adrian, did you notice english subtitles have been recently desactivated? seriously, it can be a nightmare for non-native English speakers ... :-) hope you can fix that, I am so frustrated as a Frog living under tropics! keep on the good job!
Ok it’s been out for a while now, do you still recommend it? I’m getting serious with my health and workout and Apple Watch is kinda invested for me. Thank you
Reason for LTE: Leave the phone at home if you can, you’re still reachable but not scrolling. And with AirPods you can stream music from the watch, great for running and exercise.
There’s no reason for LTE, nobody goes anywhere without their phone, and if your running as they say ( when most Americans know they don’t run) how far are you running that you will be so far away from your phone that you need to pay a higher cellphone bill.
Exactly correct. I run with only my Apple Watch, AirPods. Used the Series 4 for 2 years. Just got the Series 6. Never had any battery issues. Having cell service is worth the extra cost and peace of mind that I am reachable and can reach others when out. I have quite a lot of music downloaded to the watch, but it is also convenient to stream music and podcasts that aren't downloaded. It's great not having to carry a phone while out running.
As someone that collected watches for a long time, I can genuinely say that I enjoy this latest iteration of the Apple Watch. I’m not gonna sit here and say I like it because it feels like an actual watch now because it still feels like a smart watch. However, it feels enough like a watch where I can wear it for most days, and save my collectible watches for times when I go out. I also find myself looking at my phone a lot less when I have to watch, because of how limited it is. I get my important information on the watch and it’s easy to ignore something if I need to. It’s nice to see a review from another person who likes collecting watches. It’s also nice to hear you acknowledge that it’s not going to completely replace your other watches.
I struggle with the point you’re touching on here. I also find the the work and fitness usefulness of the Apple Watch to be a game changer, but it kills me with how much wrist time I give up with my other watches to use it
I did upgrade from the S5 to the S6... honestly, I am GLAD I did. The faster charging actually does make a difference for the nights that I useit for sleep tracking (weeknights when I wake up earlier than my partner). It makes a lot easier to get up in the morning, and now I'm not waking him up with my phone alarm, AND I am not running out of battery because it is better juiced up. That functinality was honestly worth it. But, I use my watch a lot - for workouts, I use the AOD, and I am on LTE for 1-2 hours most days because I can't have my phone out with me at work. So the extra battery life for the LTE version specifically I think was honestly worth it! But if you are only getting the bluetooth model, then it's not worth it because you don't need the extra battery power to get you through with that connectivity.
I’d buy a dog in your position, that will make you get out and exercise more, particularly in that beautiful countryside. That way you get to wear a nice watch at the same time.
I agree with you on the "new normal". That's the selling point. I never owned an Apple Watch. This will be my first one. Care about fitness, sleep, and overall health more than ever now.
I do agree with your perspective, and that’s why I wear one. I usually wear an Apple Watch on one wrist and one of my watches on the other, but if I exercise I only wear the Apple Watch of course. People who don’t wear an Apple Watch for its functionalities do not understand it...especially Watch snobs.
Thank you for your review of the AW series 6. I've been tempted to get one over the years, but held back because I was afraid I would never wear any of my nice mechanical watches. I'm still waiting to get my 39mm Rolex Explorer or new Sub(who knows how long that will be). I appreciate the workmanship of a mechanical watch and how a watch can compliment your style. It also becomes a conversation piece when out and about. I love my Rolex, Breitling, Omega, Panerai, and IWC. They all offer their own unique style and presence on your wrist. Something an apple watch cannot do since they all look pretty much the same. I guess changing the straps is a way to make them different. My wife likes the AW and has her eyes set on the new one. She's a nurse and likes to have the ability to access certain apps without having to take out her phone. I get it. I got her a Rolex Datejust for her birthday last year and she only wears it once in awhile. Her main go to watch is the Apple watch. That is what she prefers to wear on a day to day basis. My choice would be a mechanical watch. I'm not big into social media and don't have a FB or Twitter account so getting alerts like those are useless to me. If I need to get the news, I will use my phone or my computer. I find it easier to use and read. This pandemic has changed the way people interact, but it won't go on forever. Prior to the pandemic, I would see people constantly looking at their phones, not really engaging with anyone around them. You see that scene in "the social dilemma" where the family is at the dinner table and everyone is on their phone. That's a sad reality of where we are at. I think the Apple watch simplifies or reduces the amount of time you use your phone, but it still makes you a slave to the tech. Wearing a mechanical watch gives me the ability to 'unplug' from all tech. Sorry, but I'm a little biased towards mechanical watches. Thank you
Stick with mechanical watches. I'm a nurse and my colleagues look so silly flipping their wrists just trying to tell basic time. If they enable always on display they will run out of battery in no time. Also people even forget to charge their phone what more a watch? If a zombie apocalypse happens.. you're lost and can't tell time in 2 days hahaha
Can smartwatches and mechanical really exist side by side long term? I got the series 5. Initially to keep track of my exercise then found myself working out every day and actually got more organised and productive because of little silent alarms and my calendar on my wrist. Stopped wearing the Apple watch in favour of mechanicals and my exercise routine and productivity have suffered but I feel like a right plum wearing both 🤷🏻♂️
I’m new to Apple Watch and I have POTS and Vasovagal syncope so my main reason for purchasing this watch instead of a fit bit is for the fall detection and the ecg feature. I’m new to Apple in general! I’m excited to have the watch remind me to move and I will feel safer being alone. If I do pass out and I hit my head, I know that I will have someone coming to help me.
Thanks for the review. I upgraded from S5 to S6 and find it worth the upgrade. I have the cellular model and love the freedom of leaving my phone at home when I go for a walk. Also don’t forget as a new watch customer you will get 3 months free access to Fitness+ when it launches.
Do you think that, over time, you're likely to basically stop wearing your mechanical watches? Surely a lot of the benefit of wearing an Apple Watch comes precisely from wearing it all the time, so that the sleep and health/fitness features deliver their full benefit?
I just recently got my first ever Apple Watch. I did contemplate seriously getting a series 6 but was told only difference with it was just a measurement app ie blood oxygen on the watch. I couldn’t justify the extra £200 for just that. The blood oxygen thing isn’t a need, want or interest for me. So I went for the series 5 gold steel...best thing I ever chose to do. No regrets. I love the watch and how cohesive & seamless it works with my AirPods 2nd Gen. I hesitated for a while to pull the trigger out of fear it would render any other watch I’ve spent money on as pointless or useless, that’s not the case so far. I still use my other non Apple watches, more so for fancier settings. I love the customisable factor with the watch straps. You find your size, pick a strap or straps you like and attach them, it’s so easy. I’ve taken to creating all sorts of colour combos: khaki & orange straps, pride 🌈 & orange. I’ve got more straps on order, the sport band is my favourite band so far.
So a watch enthusiasts like you decides to buys an apple watch and wants to make the best use of it, tracking fitness and so on. When do you have space on your wrist for a mechanical watch? While the apple watch is charging or when you are sleeping? I feel deciding for the apple watch also means deciding against the other watches you own.
Definitely the best apple watch review ive seen so far, second to none. I feel that only Bark truly knows how to use the apple watch, unlike other reviewers merely treating it as tech gadget.
I have my running watch for what it does, I have my Omega for how it makes me feel. The biological connection between me and my running watch is so clever, but for all that technology it feels dead with no moving parts. When I put on my Omega, it elevates me, the watch feels alive with all the cogs and wheels clicking around in perfect engineered harmony.
Apple supports their products for 7 years so I reckon you’d get at least 5 decent years out of it but if anyone thinks it’s going to replace a doctor they probably need their head examining as well 😅
@@steelstunners1862 But taking health advice from a tech-company is sane? And what about your iPhone from seven years ago...my one is at the bottom of a drawer somewhere.
TSW It’s a licensed medical device in terms of ecg it wouldn’t have gotten that without regulatory approval and the rest of the functionality is mostly just useful for tracking frequency and intensity of exercise. But in terms of a value proposition a mechanical watch is obviously a better deal.
Question.. Which watch are your wearing more often? The Rolex or Apple Watch? I’m wearing a 116610LN almost everyday for years now and thinking about buying a Apple Watch for the variety. I’m afraid that I won’t be wearing the Apple Watch after a short while because of the Rolex. What’s your experience on that?
A regular watch, yes, I agree with you. I don’t consider the Apple Watch and actual watch. I don’t use it for time, nor do I wear it because I love what’s inside. I wear it as an extension of my phone on one wrist and my mechanical watch on my left. They serve completely different purposes.
@@magicmike7066 actually, no, it’s not enough. I’m a medical professional. Sometimes I don’t have a free hand to reach in my back pocket, but still need to see who is messaging be at the moment.
I always saw watches as technology first, not just jewellery. What jewellery is sold with a feature & spec list? None. But a mechanical watch, you will know the movement, materials, complications, water resistance, legibility at night, maybe even antimagnetic properties. I think they're cool precisely because they're functional, tech infused jewellery. It's just mechanical or electric (quartz) instead of electronic (software-driven) technology.
I just bought the same watch and I have been wearing it for two days now. Same as you; I bought the series 5 last year and I returned it. This year I made my mind that I will be keeping it. So far I have been enjoying a lot my Apple Watch series 6 GPS only. I just saw you video and I just realized we have the same train of thought. Cheers!
Not a iPhone user. Everything I need for tech is in my phone and since my job is very physical, I don't need to be reminded how tired I should be at the end of the day. I am one of those believers that a watch on my wrist should only be about time since my phone is no longer a phone. My phone is time, date, weather, news, GPS, maps, social media, calculator, camera, music, tv, texts, beeper, and well....you get it.
I’ve been using apple watches since the beginning. Similar reasons as you mentioned now. I work and I drive a lot and having the watch makes it much easier to attend what’s important and what’s not. This series 6 is by far the best one yes.
Fair enough reasons for keeping it. How are you/will you balance wrist time between your other watches? I reckon I would like a smartwatch but none of the Android ones seem as good as the Apple Watch so feels pointless getting one.
Came for the watch specs, stayed for the photography and legit opinion. Hate the watch aesthetically but wow is it ever impressive technologically. I feel like the only major thing left is a solar charge capability so that you aren’t reliant on an electric power source and the requirement to take off the watch to charge it. Love your content!
How do you switch between a Smartwatch and an Automatic watch when you have both? One gives you functionality and the other being worry free which you don't need to bother yourself on charging?
I know it does not work as well with an iPhone as with Android, but have you ever tried a Samsung Watch? I sold mine, as I was not wearing at much in my rotation, but I really liked it. The water resistance was great, the faces were nice and clear, and the battery lasted 3 or 4 days normally. When I was wearing it, I could sleep with the watch most nights of the week. Some of the health sensors are not that cool as the Apple Watch, but they are decent ... it also motivates you to exercise and I really loved to be able to swim with it.
(And it used regular 22mm straps for the 46mm ... I think 20mm straps for the regular size ... I have an 8 inches wrist, so I could go for the biggest one)
How did you decide on sizing? 44mm is a pretty scary number given your other style tastes. Also, how do you decide when to wear the Apple Watch vs any other of your watches?
That’s a good question. I should have mentioned the sizing in the video. The 40mm just felt small. And the screen was too small to use for me. I don’t wear the Apple Watch for style. So the size is more about usability.
I finally up graded from an Apple 3 to an Apple 6. I think I made the right move. I enjoy the new apps. The blood oxygen monitor is great for my age. You’re right about the exercise app. It keeps me motivated. Thanks for your info.
Each to their own, I have not worn a smartwatch outside of a fitbit, I never put alerts on it. I can imagine the watch would be like when one is at work and outlook shows a preview of every email that comes in. Ultimately it just interrupted me doing other things and I turned them off. Outside of the heart rate thing when I am on a treadmill I find the fitness stuff superfluous - one can do some steps each day but I think we're better off doing actual proper exercise!
I have spent the last 2 years with a Fitbit on my right wrist and a "proper" watch on the left. The Series 6 had enough health benefits to offer that I pulled the trigger. I am now wearing an Apple Watch on the right, and a proper watch on the left. It feels totally fine and normal. Not a single person has mentioned anything about it. Of course, I'm a 41-year-old white guy dad, so I'm pretty invisible (fashion-wise) as it is. 🤣 I still look at my left wrist for time, and right wrist for notifications and fitness. I am very happy with my 2-watch lifestyle. It's fun and liberating.
I actualy did that with a fitbit Flex, first edition: no screen, only 5 small leds. I like it but because of no GPS tracking I sold it after a year or 2 (and I regretted since then). I should receive my 1st apple watch (series 6) in a day or 2, and I'm actually planning to keep my automatic watch for 'special occasion', while wearing the apple watch everyday. I didn't think about wearing both at the same time, but I live in a country where you don't wear sleeves, so wearing 2 watches would be noticeable quite fast1 :( I actually dreamt about a piece of hardware we could add to our watch's bands, providing GPS, heart rate sensor, etc... but nobody seems interested in that for now
How often do you wear your Apple Watch? I’m on the fence with purchasing one, but I prefer giving wrist time to my daily automatic(Tudor). Great Channel. Keep up the fantastic work. Thank you
Thanks mate. Before lock downs I would wear it a lot, about 3-4 times a week as it recorded my fitness. Since the swimming pools shut I haven’t worn it.
Cool video. Are you going to wear just one watch (mechanical or battery powered) or would you wear both, one on each wrist? It’s always my dilemma. I have a Rolex Sub Date (116610LN) and don’t have a smart watch. I like the functionality of a smart watch, but it’s too much of a gadget to me. What do you think?
I want an apple band - something I can wear on my right wrist and have all the functionality, but interfaced on my phone. (And then keep wearing a real watch). Ive not looked into it, but a Fitbit in a few generations time would be the one I think
I got a series 5 Apple Watch in March & although I do like it (a lot) I find I now don’t wear any of my mechanical watches at all!!! I find myself needing to wear the Apple Watch so that it tracks all my activity, all day. I could wear it on my right wrist and a mechanical watch on my left but that just seems awkward, and also just a bit over the top lol
I think it’s gonna be harder and harder to ignore the Apple Watch (and similar products) in the future, if only for what they can measure and keep track of. Stuff like ECG, heart condition warnings, fall detection, it already is and will continue to become an even better life saver. Personally, I tend to go in and out of long periods of wearing only an Apple Watch, to then put it away to wear only my mechanical and quartz watches. I’ve tried double wristing but it feels a bit too ostentatious. We’ll see which one will win in the end. As Jony Ive - himself a lover and collector of mechanical watches - said in the Hodinkee interview a few years ago: ”Sometimes you wear an Apple Watch for the utility, and sometimes you wear an mechanical watch out of nostalgia or sentiment.” I think this rings true for sure. The AW will never have the emotional connection my mechanical watches to me, but when I raise my wrist and see a picture of new 10 month old son, that’s a kind of emotional connection too, oddly enough. Long story short: it’s a great product, and one more and more watch lovers seem to embrace.
Titanium was available on the Apple Watch 5 too and the Apple Watch is either sapphire on the steel and titanium or plastic gorilla on the aluminium watches.
i've been hemming and hawing whether to buy AW or not since series 0. But everytime I think of my grail the pelagos, I get put off and continue saving lol.
I use my traditional watches, and trying some smart watches. But going to settle for apple watch. Just concerned when will I give some wrist time to my collection of traditional watch.
Hi Adrian, how much wrist time is the Apple Watch getting? It strikes me as something that one gets most out of the more it is worn; so how do you manage the rotation of your other pieces? Thanks.
In the video it looks like your in the middle of nowhere , the LTE. Model would be better for you as you like the outdoors , you could drop and break your phone and the watch would be useless , LTE on the watch would be for emergencies

The titanium looks amazing in my opnion well worth the money.
Whole point of a watch is that it's not tech IMO. Glad you enjoy it
A regular watch, yes, I agree with you. I don’t consider the Apple Watch and actual watch. I don’t use it for time, nor do I wear it because I love what’s inside. I wear it as an extension of my phone on one wrist and my mechanical watch on my left. They serve completely different purposes.
S. M. Why do you need both ? Your phone alone isn’t good enough ?
S. M. Touché, that would be a good exception
For the love of God what camera do you use please??
My main camera is a Fujifilm XT4.
Cheers!
I have a Apple Watch series 2 and it need to charge 2 time a day to work; should I get this series 6?
I was going to get the blue book but now might have to change
I came here just to see the color of the band! I love the green one💚
The green really is cool.
@@BarkandJack I’m sorry I copied you haha. Got the green one earlier!! Girl also can wear and looks cute on her right??🙂
@@asm8911 haha. Good work! Team green 🟢🟢 🙌🏻
@@asm8911 I bought the same S6 Cyprus green wrist band. However, it still looks like a futuristic toy. They should have built it round I guess))
Thanks so much Travis 🙌🏻
How do you switch between a Smartwatch and an Automatic watch when you have both? One gives you functionality and the other being worry free which you don't need to bother yourself on charging?
Did he mention colour of this strap?
Hello Adrian, can you get a Bark and Jack strap for the Apple 6 watch? nice to see your thumb back to normal
With a 6.5 wrist, do you think I should go with the 44mm?
I'd be interested to see if you get Viewranger and use it on your watch.
Which watch is going to last longer in the long run SE vs S6??
You should do review of the Hermès Apple Watch Series 7!
Had series 6 just under week my first Apple Watch and got no complaints so far
My only gripe is that I will wear it on my right wrist so controlling it will be awkward. Also, are you charged for cellular connectivity separately?
move the crown to the left! Cellular is extra on your cell phone plan
@@ianwoodland7917 thanks Ian, got on yesterday and did that.
How do you alternate apple watch with other watches?
I still have the series 2 not sure i should get the 6 or the se..How important is to have ecg and blood oxygen meter?
Ever considered Casio Oceanus or Seiko Astron watches, or is that not your cup of coffee?
Which band is he wearing? I can’t find that at J&B or the Apple Store.
Ahh never mind, Cypress Green Sport (apple store). It just looked gray to me.
I still look at my left wrist for time, and right wrist for notifications and fitness.
I didn't think about wearing both at the same time, but I live in a country where you don't wear sleeves, so wearing 2 watches would be noticeable quite fast1 :(
I actually dreamt about a piece of hardware we could add to our watch's bands, providing GPS, heart rate sensor, etc... but nobody seems interested in that for now
@@adriengoux I live in Southern California. I wear short sleeves for 11 months of the year. =)
I’m getting my Apple Watch series 6 tonight
I have the SE and a Pelagos for the weekends 👌🏻
Great combo.
I got my apple watch on Christmas and its good
Would you wear this with a traditional watch on the opposite wrist?
How often do you wear your Apple Watch? I’m on the fence with purchasing one, but I prefer giving wrist time to my daily automatic(Tudor).
Great Channel. Keep up the fantastic work. Thank you
Thanks mate.
Before lock downs I would wear it a lot, about 3-4 times a week as it recorded my fitness. Since the swimming pools shut I haven’t worn it.
Can u use the internet on it??
04:44 - 05:06 you don’t need a watch for that. You can also use your phone or just any mobile device.
Do you find the ecg and oxygen sensor useful? I'm torn between the SE and Series 6, I prefer the 6 but so much more expensive..
I personally never need or use either.
I have a s3 on my right wrist and my old explorer on the left, ill be upgrading to the s6 soon.
Good video 👍
Cellular or non cellular ?
Titanium was available on the Apple Watch 5 too and the Apple Watch is either sapphire on the steel and titanium or plastic gorilla on the aluminium watches.
Ionx glass for aluminum. 99%of broken and scratched screen apple watches are aluminum models. So never ro aluminum models for me
I could listen to you all day!
Thanks Randy. 🍻
i've been hemming and hawing whether to buy AW or not since series 0. But everytime I think of my grail the pelagos, I get put off and continue saving lol.
This is the first video I’ve watched on your channel. Wrote this comment right after the intro. 🔥 liked it straight away.
You always chose super good music dude 🎶👏
I’m going to get the series 7 .
I got a series 2 and its good enough recently been looking for reasons to get a series 6.
Current Series 4 GPS/Cellular owner waiting for MicroLED display. S4 performing great.
I use my traditional watches, and trying some smart watches. But going to settle for apple watch. Just concerned when will I give some wrist time to my collection of traditional watch.
I've long been a mechanical watch guy. I just bought the new Apple watch SE. I love it, so (multi) functional.
Adrian, i love the new intro music!!!!
Nice work, Adrian! Between you and Jenni Elle, I’d almost think there was a marketing campaign... I just might get one.
Fanzyify - yeah. Odd. It’s as if there had just been a launch of a new model, and everyone is checking it out. Weird.
I'm 19 yrs old, Explorer II 16570 and Apple Watch Series 5, perfect setup for me :)
