I also have a Red Apple Watch 6. I only have it because I have cerebral palsy. I need it for the fall protection. I don\t fall often but if I get injured it’s comforting to know that it will call the ambulance. The alarm is pretty sweet. Being able to call someone while you’re driving without touching your iPhone is great!

Luckily I was there, but I shudder to think about what would have happened if I was not. Anyway, I waited to purchase an Apple Watch until the kinks were hammered out and new features added. I'm very pleased, and can rest easier knowing my mom also has one.

I upgraded from 4 to a six and honestly I can’t tell the difference from battery life and speed. The only difference I see is the oxygen sensor, compass and always on.
Totally believe you😂 I went from a 3 to a 6 and I see the difference in battery life and bigger screen size.. If I had a 4, I would not have upgraded, simply not enough new features. That’s also why I didn’t go from the 3 to the 4 or the 5. I only got the 6 now because I feel terribly outdated. The blood oxygen sensor still wasn’t enough. I have no daily uses for most, if not all of these sensors they keep advertising.
@Shaheer Khan It can be fairly accurate in cardio fitness tracking, I go running often. As soon as a workout is detected it maps out your entire route, until you finish and as you go. It tells you the time it took, distance you went, there is a steps counter, tells you the calories burned .. your heart rate and all that. now one thing i did notice was that it’s limited to stepping workouts.. for example, if i got on all 4s or laid on my back to do a workout, i would have burned more calories but they weren’t accurately counted each time.
It just show you the lack of creativity in today’s generation everybody wants to be a follower of the trend but know one wants to build the next big thing...we’ve become to lazy and stagnant as a society hence social media in the need for more “followers” unfortunately it will lead to our demise as a human race. I’m glad you talked about when you charge the watch. No one thinks of charging when they shower. It’s what I always do, and I actually keep it on the charger for a little after I get out, until it’s about 80% (for battery health), and then it lasts until the next night when I shower. I don’t really have time in the morning to go put it on my charger and then put it back on, I wake up late lol

You know the best thing about haptic alarm? It's been done for ages. Pebble was doing it. Every smartwatch I've owned has been doing it. Pebble and now Fitbit even have this feature where they wake you at the better time, before the alarm (something about REM sleep).
This was such a honest review, reminding us that we don't always need the newest features on the newest products. I have a series 4 Apple Watch and I was going to upgrade to the SE but MKBHD has convinced me to stay where I'm at. Even he said that he's switching back to the Series 5, trying to keep up with all of the latest Apple products one will have to file for bankruptcy.
Been tracking my sleep with Fitbit for years. Very used to wearing a watch when I sleep, it’s not that noticeable. Seems like the best time to charge it if you care about sleep tracking is when you’re relaxing at home. I think the AW is most useful when you are out and about.
The best thing for me is the always on feature. My series 3 doesn't always wake when holding things while on the job and I can't turn it with enough force to wake it. Very good review with a clear and concise presentation!

That’s fine if you’ve never had an Apple Watch with AoD. I was on series 4 and unfortunately broke it so bought a series 5. And honestly I can’t think of having a watch without AoD! That’s a reason in itself to upgrade.
They’re a lot cheaper with cellular connectivity as well! One of the reasons I’m looking to pick one up. Probably waiting till Black Friday tho cuz if the cellular S5 get similar prices I’ll definitely get one of those over the SE.
guitarman its all preference. If you can do without the AoD then I’d say definitely go for it. All the other “upgrades” are just gimmicks and won’t make your day to day life any better. I wouldn’t have upgraded from the S4 if I hadn’t have broken it. (I like walking into walls it seems) I am glad I got the S5 as I bought it a couple of months ago for a lot cheaper than what Apple would charge. No need to get the S6!
Radford_07 Yes, I see no good reason to pay extra for AoD. I never really understood the reason to why it was added in the first place. All it does is that it looks better in others perspective imo. Other than that, it just drains your battery faster. To have the option for it however is never a bad thing, so if I can get a S5 for the same price as a SE I see no bad reason for it. I had a S3 about two years ago and was very fine with how the screen turned on every time I wanted to use it. I sold it however cuz I didn’t feel like it had enough features to make me satisfied. That’s why the SE is so interesting, cellular for a much better price which means I can go out running without my huge phone and still have all the things I need! Now I’m just waiting for Spotify to add music streaming to their watch app, which they are beta testing at the moment!:)
guitarman For me it’s nice to be able to see the time etc without having to touch the screen to wake or move my wrist sharply for it to register and then switch on. But when I had the series 4 it wasn’t even a thought so I was more than happy to do without it. I’m not interested with the cellular version as I always have my phone with me. I think the SE will suit you then if the AoD is not a necessity.

I’m glad you talked about when you charge the watch. No one thinks of charging when they shower. It’s what I always do, and I actually keep it on the charger for a little after I get out, until it’s about 80% (for battery health), and then it lasts until the next night when I shower. I don’t really have time in the morning to go put it on my charger and then put it back on, I wake up late lol

It's been done for ages. Pebble was doing it. Every smartwatch I've owned has been doing it.
Pebble and now Fitbit even have this feature where they wake you at the better time, before the alarm (something about REM sleep).
had it on my fitbit, samsung gear s3 and now garmin venu.. nothing new at all. Also that "excellent battery life" is a bit of a joke isn't it?

This was such a honest review, reminding us that we don't always need the newest features on the newest products. I have a series 4 Apple Watch and I was going to upgrade to the SE but MKBHD has convinced me to stay where I'm at. Even he said that he's switching back to the Series 5, trying to keep up with all of the latest Apple products one will have to file for bankruptcy.

Been tracking my sleep with Fitbit for years. Very used to wearing a watch when I sleep, it’s not that noticeable. Seems like the best time to charge it if you care about sleep tracking is when you’re relaxing at home. I think the AW is most useful when you are out and about.

The best thing for me is the always on feature. My series 3 doesn't always wake when holding things while on the job and I can't turn it with enough force to wake it.

I got mine yesterday and I am happy with it! It's a good upgrade from the series 3. I'm really liking the louder speaker and always on display, in particular.
What is always on display?

Honestly I got the SE and it’s so much more of a value. Unless you absolutely need the Heath metrics and the AoD the SE is the sweetspot.
That’s fine if you’ve never had an Apple Watch with AoD. I was on series 4 and unfortunately broke it so bought a series 5. And honestly I can’t think of having a watch without AoD! That’s a reason in itself to upgrade.
They’re a lot cheaper with cellular connectivity as well! One of the reasons I’m looking to pick one up. Probably waiting till Black Friday tho cuz if the cellular S5 get similar prices I’ll definitely get one of those over the SE.
guitarman its all preference. If you can do without the AoD then I’d say definitely go for it. All the other “upgrades” are just gimmicks and won’t make your day to day life any better. I wouldn’t have upgraded from the S4 if I hadn’t have broken it. (I like walking into walls it seems) I am glad I got the S5 as I bought it a couple of months ago for a lot cheaper than what Apple would charge. No need to get the S6!
Radford_07 Yes, I see no good reason to pay extra for AoD. I never really understood the reason to why it was added in the first place. All it does is that it looks better in others perspective imo. Other than that, it just drains your battery faster. To have the option for it however is never a bad thing, so if I can get a S5 for the same price as a SE I see no bad reason for it. I had a S3 about two years ago and was very fine with how the screen turned on every time I wanted to use it. I sold it however cuz I didn’t feel like it had enough features to make me satisfied. That’s why the SE is so interesting, cellular for a much better price which means I can go out running without my huge phone and still have all the things I need! Now I’m just waiting for Spotify to add music streaming to their watch app, which they are beta testing at the moment!:)
guitarman For me it’s nice to be able to see the time etc without having to touch the screen to wake or move my wrist sharply for it to register and then switch on. But when I had the series 4 it wasn’t even a thought so I was more than happy to do without it. I’m not interested with the cellular version as I always have my phone with me. I think the SE will suit you then if the AoD is not a necessity.
