Chelsea Marie Chimmy Haha really? 🤣😆 The world is so small. Thank you for watching our videos 😍
Wow! This is easy
Thank you so so much
Arron👍 I appreciate all your yummy recipes ❤️
it looks spicy and i think i have to put Gloves to cut that chilli pepper first time see it ill try it i think that it is similar to kimchi can be eaten with BBQ-side dish- looks ymmi with vegetables, can we eat it just with rice?......thank you chef Aaron!
Dania Young Just with rice would be fine, we call that Ssambab!!(veges & rice with Ssamjang)
@@AaronandClaire oh! so it is Ssambab! thank you or the information ! also for the reciep ^^! see more soon
Making SSamjang for my gimbap and am so glad to see this, sure I can use Modern Peppers' or Maangchi's but I just love you and you gave me such inspiration for my gimbap today that i went and thawed some fishcake and bacon to make a variety of gimbap and need this for the 'pork belly' ,from the 'other ' video, but no avocado for me , got sick of it when I owned the Rancho Grande, Mexican restaurant before I turned 65 and retired. Thank you. I especially love the older version of you 'in the making' and watching you progress....... take care from Michigan's upper Penninsula......... Yupersue
Everything Looks Delicious but u made me smile when u Taste what u made 😅your facial expression's like telling us "Don't Do This At Home Just please Go to The Nearest K. Restaurant Don't Trust urself doing this 😅😁😆 Thank you for sharing Have a Blessed Weekend.😊

Woo! Another recipe video!
I had doen-jang with Kbbq it was so much better than sea salt, soy sauce, and sesame oil that was provided.
ooh what?? believe it or not we have those paste already...haha^^ we definitely can make it right away hahaha...thanks for the recipe ^^
AnS Episodes please let us know how it was🤗
Out of topic but I came after watching your garlic video, and couldnt help to think how I wish you'd grow your bread and mustache back 😁😁😁
sugahbabe08 Haha Thanks! and I'll think about it!! 😍😍😍
Thank you for this recipe. I really like your recipes. They are thoughtful and well put together.
Best Korean sauce!
Patrick Boulanger Plante Tell me about it!
Okay this looks bussin! Thank you 😄
I was make ssamjang but it didn't taste good w/o meat or mushroom bulgogi. But when i was try it on korean bbq resto it taste good even only with vegetables
Omg that looks so yummy
I'll make some but I'll use tahini a soy sauce instead of deonjang, I don't have it right now but I want it so bad. My mom is cooking fresh octopus and I just saw a Tzuyang video with octopus and ssamjang 🤤😍
aaron can i use honey instead of corn syrup?
How long will this sauce store in the fridge?
This is a very delicious sauce.
Me first!🙋!! After a long tym.. recipe vedio!!😍🔥
Harini Murali Yay!!! 😍😍
can you use other bean pastes? does it have to be soybeans? Here in American other beans are much cheaper.
A A Nope, it should be Korean soybean paste 된장(doen-jang). This is not just soybean paste, it's fermented soybean paste!
@@AaronandClaire Would a miso work? dark?
@@David-Daithi I just tasted both and it's actually close. But you can find the real thing for about $3 if you can find a Korean or Asian grocery store. It will be right next to the Gochuhjaing that you also need! You can even buy pre-made ssamjang but I doubt it will taste as good as this recipe.
Ok, I did try store-bought ssamjang. I thought the recipe was better. Store bought needs more stuff added to it (green onion, garlic at least) It would do in a pinch.
Use apple juice if you don’t have :) plum
Thank you 😊 your “no nonsense” style is very much appreciated and admired !
My pleasure! 😊😊😊
This is such a great recipe to have a few cannot get a hold of store-bought. But you didn’t say how do you store your homemade dip. How would I wanna do so?
Unlike the store-bought one, it is not recommended to keep it in the fridge for a long time. So I recommend making a small batch but if you still have leftover, put it in a air containter and keep it in the fridge. It will be fine up to 2-3 days. (P.S. We have a video that you can try with your leftover ssamjang, so if you are interested in, check out this video(Ssamjang 101). Here's a link~! 🤗 ruclips.net/video/1qWywZA4Lm8/видео.html )
Hi! Thanks for the recipe and your cheerfulness :)
Question:is there a way to substitute soy bean paste with something GLUTEN FREE? I loooove Korean bbq but have celiac disease, so I can't eat gluten (soy bean paste contains wheat flour) thank you!
Hi, SuperDebella! A few products are glueten free, so why don't you get one of those? 😊
@@AaronandClaire I'm from Germany and checked several Asian shops but haven't found anything gluten free :(
@@SuperDebella You can also look for gluten free red miso at the store. It's not the same but it's pretty close.
Can I get the full recipe?
Aaron may I ask a stupid question about making this sauce and alternative uses?
Ssamjang is a dip for Korean BBQ or veggie sticks. But if you’re looking for more ways to use, please check out this video (3 ways to enjoy ssamjang) I’m sure you’ll love it! 😁👍

@@AaronandClaire well from a flavour perspective why can’t you use it making kimchi?
Is this recipe very spicy? I will like to try it.
No, it's not that spicy! It's more like savory. 😊
@@AaronandClaire thank you!
Can this sauce be made not spicy
Sure, you can reduce the amount of gochugaru(Korean chili pepper flakes) and gochujang(Korean chili paste)! 😊
Can we replace corn syrup?
Corn syrup not only adds a sweet flavor but also give us that glossy texture. So if you want to replace it, I recommend adding a little bit of water with sugar instead. 😊 aaronandclaire.com/how-to-make-ssamjang-korean-dipping-sauce-recipe/
so salty.
the soybean paste is miso, right?
It's Korean soybean paste called Doenjang(된장). Miso is Japanese staple and compared to Doenjang, it's lighter and sweeter! 😊
@@AaronandClaire I know they are different, i was just wondering if it could work with miso as We dont get Korean stuff in our town and it is sold out online where I live but I was craving ssamjang. But thanks for your reply. Anyway, I think i will try it by altering the ratio of ingredients. It wont be the same, but I think it should work. It wont have those complex undertones, I guess.
Let me guess....first you start with the green onion. 🤔😄
🤣🤣🤣 Good guess!!! 😎
