Ms. MAANGCHI, by God, you have earned those 👼 🪽 - 😊 thank you so much. I have been cooking Korean food for banchan 2 months now, and my daughter loves it. I'm one happy mom 😊 Thank you very much.
Maangchi, I need to thank you. I made the bulgogi, dipping sauce and bean sprout salad for my parents the other night. Everything was amazing and delicious and it made us all so happy. We had one of the best and most honest conversations we've ever had. So, ghanks to you and your recipes my parents and I love each other that much more! Thank you so much!

I am so happy to have found your site, and I am truly inspired to try making this Korean food myself. I made my first kimchi yesterday and it is now fermenting for 24 hours. It smells wonderful. Thanks to you and Korean cooks everywhere for such terrific dishes. I am going to continue watching your videos and learning more about your delicious food. Thanks for teaching me.
When I think about bulgogi, I think about my housemates in college that made this for our monthly celebrations. I lived in a house with people from all over Asia (I'm a plain-old white person!) and they shared all of their recipes with each other when we cooked for dinner. It was a fantastic experience, and I loved learning about my friends. Food is a wonderful way to share and experience cultures together. Thank you for making your recipes and culture so accessible.
I tasted bulgogi at a Korean karaoke house a few months ago, loved it and decided to try to cook it myself. Thank you lovely Maangchi for this recipe because it far exceeded my expectation! Not only was I able to cook it myself but I think your recipe was even better than the delicious version I tried at the restaurant. 😋

I love bulgogi and have discovered that if you use a bit more ginger (ginger is a tenderizer) you can get by with less expensive cuts of meat. I was a butcher before I retired and used to watch for well marbled shoulder or even chuck. These cuts aren't as tender as fillet but, if they were from choice or prime beef, after the marinating they are good and actually have more flavor. I love your recipes Maangchi.
I love that she showed how to write bulgogi at the end. I was stationed at Osan AFB in South Korea for a year and really enjoyed eating and learning how to make Korean food. Delicious! Came here to brush up on the recipe as I'm making it tomorrow.

Guess what,Maangchi! Pears are expensive here on where I live,so I substitute pear with Fuji apple. When grilling the meat, the smoke actually tastes and smells delicious because of the fragrant of the apple. And it has a very pleasant after-taste when you're chewing the meat. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Maangchi thank you
Guess what,Maangchi!
English caption is up now thanks to one of my viewers' contribution!

How long do you marinate meat?
You can grill, pan-fry, or BBQ right after marinating, but it’s best to keep it in the fridge and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. Check out the description box in any video and follow the link for the written recipe. Every video has a written recipe where I provide more detailed information such as ingredients, step by step directions, stories behind, photos, and tips.
Love this women. She is so down to earth, awesome cook and she have an awesome personalty.
Thank you so much for your interest in my recipes! Check out some photos and more information about bulgogi on my website. I just posted the recipe on my website. Enjoy my recipe~ ; )
Good video. Would like to try the recipe. I can see you are very comfortable grilling over charcoal. Such a great way to cook. I would think it kicks your recipe up a notch or two.
can I used chicken and honey in this recipe instead of skip out the rice syrup and minced beef ?
Rohit Pillai sure! You can make chicken bulgogi or pork bulgogi~ using the same sauce!
You can use honey, but bulgogi goes well with red meat rather than poultry. Maybe lamb or pork.

It looks the same as what we call Nashi pear in Australia.....

"nashi" is "pear" in Japanese. same exact pear as korean pear
