Hi everybody, thank you for your nice comments! Make delicious donkkaseu and share with your family and friends. Check out the recipe, tips, photos, and more stories about this dish on my website.
Maangchi, do you think you could make a video or a list of a "survivalist guide" to what to stock for a Korean pantry? I often find myself missing key ingredients in your recipes. :(
My daughter is such a picky eater but when I try to recreate Maangchi's recipes she loves each and every dish I make for her. Thank you, Maangchi! Youre so cute as well! Keep inspiring us with your delicious cooking :)

I swear this channel is turning me into Randy Marsh in that ep of south park where cooking shows where like adult movies. The audio engineer for this should get an award. The sounds of sizzling foods, bread crumbs rustling around, metal clanging on bowls... it all excites every part of me. Why.

Well, this is sooo europian. I am from Czech republic and even though I dont prefer meat, seeing this kind of meal on a plate is like a small wink from the other side of the world. Sometimes I'm really surprised, how many connections are there between so different cousines. Potato pancakes are like our treasure, and thanks to you, I know, that they are even in Korea. The same with dumplings, porridges, pork meat, and even with this schitzel (I know, different garnish than potatoes, but it doesnt matter). Just another seasoning, other garnish, but the core is the same.

I don't know why, but you are the only cooking channel that I've watched over and over again. LOL. I think maybe you are so cute and so real, really a genuine person. Keep the good work Maangchi!
That looks like a mexican dish called 'Milanesa de cerdo'.It is cooked exactly like you showed us today. But we accompany this dish with fresh lettuce salad, maybe guacamole, a dash of lemon juice and some french fries.
***** Actually it originates from Italy, that's why it's called MILANesa, but now every country has their own version, we have it in Colombia, Japan has their own version called Tonkatsu, very similar to this korean version, China has their own called zhazhupai, and many more! cheers!

That looks superb! It always makes me smile to see similar dishes from around the world. As Maangchi says this is based off German schnitzel. It is very similar to the fried pork steaks with gravy over rice or potatoes I ate as a child in the Southern U.S. The breading we use is a mix of flour and corn starch with salt, black pepper, paprika and onion powder. The gravy was just a roux of flour and butter with whatever fresh stock we had recently made (It's always good to keep a freezer full and waste nothing!) We almost always eat it with a cabbage slaw with sliced scallions, carrot, reddish and tomato. The mayo based dressing has a little prepared mustard, sugar, salt, apple cider vinegar and a splash if water. Very similar flavours, I'll try your recipe very soon! The addition of the ketchup to the gravy and the cabbage dressing looked delicious. Thank you Maangchi!
I love all of your videos. Your way of teaching is easy to comprehend and to follow. Honestly, I don't understand why some people dislike your videos. I don't understand humans. I hate them. haha! Anyway, more power to you!
I always had this for dinner when I lived in Suwon South Korea. It's so good. I miss it very much. They served corn and cabbage. With kimchi. My goodness. I miss it :)

Sophia Huangeerrzz u r so fast i can not follow u one minute chopping all mix up should be stuff for sauce then mix then stuff for meat then mix all together
One of my absolutely favorite dishes of all time! I can eat this anytime of day. :D In Mexico, we make a cutlet like this called Milanesa, and we often use steak and pork, but put it on a sandwich roll with avocado, mayonnaise and lettuce.
Hello! You are so great! I am Korean love Korean food but never had a chance to learn how to make real spicy Korean dish. For that it is perfect chance for me to start something new at my 71! Thank you so much. Love you videos with your bright smile!
You can make it at home. Just take already hard pastry (bread) let it harden even more. Than grate it a there you go. It will work well too. And what I am doing is pour little bit of beer into the eggs. IT will give to the "schnitzel" tiny tiny bit different taste, but it won't be such a taste kick. Because your aim is to make it flavorlul as much as you can. You can also instead of breadcrumbs use unsweetend cornflakes. Just crash it.
Love your recipes....please continue giving us your wisdom and knowledge in cooking. ..your food are delicious and very attractive looking. ....it makes me hungry just looking at you cooking. ..keep up the great cooking
Made this recipe today. And the flour, egg, bread crumb layerr really made it crispy. So delicious. We had to skip the gravy but the recipe still turned crunchily delicious.

Maangchi what kind of breadcrumbs should I use?
You can make it at home. Just take already hard pastry (bread) let it harden even more. Than grate it a there you go. It will work well too. And what I am doing is pour little bit of beer into the eggs. IT will give to the "schnitzel" tiny tiny bit different taste, but it won't be such a taste kick. Because your aim is to make it flavorlul as much as you can. You can also instead of breadcrumbs use unsweetend cornflakes. Just crash it.
This is one of the best dishes you'll ever eat. For sure give it a try. Amazing!
