    The thing I loved most about the 1993 win was that Larry was the only Commo in the field with the Holden engine, everyone else was running the Chevvy. Larry and Skaife were the only ones who actually completed all 161 laps that race, he lapped every single car except one.

    • @perkinsengineering

      No, e85 was only introduced in 2009. This car runs on BP Ultimate 98. With any race car, regardless of what fuel is used, we would always drain the tank and system if sitting around for extended periods.

    Hey Great stuff Jack congratulations on a fantastic result. Just a question for you . I worked at PPG for 35 years seen many a race team visit the factory over the years . When we dispense solvents and all flammables we alway bond and earth our vessels to stop static and obviously fire which I have seen happen with an open vessel fire hit the roof. I think you didn’t do that I could be wrong But if you have an good earth rod it would be a good idea when you are emptying a fuel tank . Once again this is not a criticism just pointing out a safety aspect it was taken very seriously at PPG and you could loose you job just saying cheers mate job well done

    • @perkinsengineering
      @perkinsengineering  Год назад +1

      Yeah I never realised how much static electricity there was until I was filling up a 200L drum with fuel at night! Thankfully everything here is earthed to the ground and it's how we always filled and drained our fuel tanks but proper earth wouldn't hurt for sure.
