Those who claim DS3 is hard probably were introduced to the series by this game. Otherwise, Elden Ring is harder and here’s why: I’m DS3, not every boss or enemy has a heal punish at both close and long range . Melee enemies and bosses won’t suddenly map you with a fireball when you need to heal. Fromsoft leaned too heavily into it in Elden Ring. I’m DS3, enemies and bosses do not break the laws of physics to do a 180 mid jump just to prevent you from getting behind them. When they attack, they usually commit to the direction they are attacking. In Elden Ring the tracking is overly aggressive. You can’t run behind an enemy without its tracking being so insane, it always keeps you front of its attacks, regardless of your positioning. In Elden Ring most enemies can attack you even when you are behind them. That isn’t a big problem in DS3. You can hug a huge enemy's ass and typically not worry about some absurd aoe one-shotting you. I’m DS3 enemies do not spam attacks faster than you can react between attacks or recovery from attacks. In Elden Ring, you can't swing a sword and finish your animation before the boss has already unleashed a flurry of attacks on you. Most boss encounter boil down to getting one or two hits in and then running for like ten minutes (exaggeration). DS3 bosses have clear pauses between their attacks, they don’t just spam attacks without consideration for your stamina bar. You can feel a clear rhythm in boss fight. A rhythm you won’t easily feel in the bosses of Shadow of the Erdtree. In Elden Ring an enemy or boss can lunge from a ridiculous distance and still hit. Their tracking will even pull them in that extra inch to make sure it connects. That’s not a problem in DS3. And let's not talk about the grabs. Bosses will pull you in from well outside their reach, so as long as you are in their proximity. Elden Ring isn’t easier. At least for a player who doesn’t use summons, like myself. Writing this makes me realize summons are meant to be the intended Elden Ring experience, yet I've managed to beat every boss with no summons or help on multiple builds (just in case someone wants to tell me to get good).
but nameless king still hits like a truck, has a lot of hp, has two phases, and hits fast from far distances almost giving you no chance to run away and heal. Right?
When will people learn that people find different things difficult? I found ds 3 to be significantly harder than elden ring, just because of how much stronger you can be in elden ring in comparison to other souls games. And I was introduced to the genre with elden ring, followed by the og dark souls.
@@VeryRareEggthat’s not the sole point of the games. Difficulty JUST for the sake of difficulty isn’t what made these games so great. It’s why ds2 and now the Elden ring dlc final boss are as controversial as they are
Going back to Ds3 after ER's DLC just surprised me with how absurdly easy it was, before ER a DS3 playthrough would usually take me about 15-20 hours, this time it took 8 hours to beat everything. . .Still love the game and that's never changing but damn that DLC changed me
The jump in all the dark souls is to hold your sprint button then tap it. Also the flame at the upper left hand corner gives extra health and represents a kindled or hollow state. You get the kindled state by beating bosses or popping embers (the tutorial bosses phase 2 zombie at high wall drops embers if you beat the blob form)… lastly you can use the uchigatana just not the chime but sellswords is the best dex weapon in the game. You definitely should experiment though and see to see
That fire thing on your hp its the ember state, when you defeat a boss you get that state, but you also get it using an ember. Ember gives you more health until you die and gives you the ability of summoning Phantoms. But be carefull, embers also atract invaders, who will hunt you down to steal your ember.
your full of shit stream it and prove it elden ring was made to get casuals into souls games without scaring them off then gets harder later in the game ds3 and 1 however is hard from the jump
Elden ring bosses are harder cause they are hyper aggresive, has input reading and too many delayed attacks and barely give the player openings. Dark souls normal enemies are harder cuz dark souls normal enemies actually have poise and dont stagger that easily and you cant run past them on a horse or sneak past them easily.
To be fair the 1st area of dark souls 3 is probably one of the toughest start to a souls game. It gets easier after that and the bosses aren't that tough either but that start is rough.
If you were in 1-handed attacks, the naked guy (sword master) in stance would normally parry you. The parry rule is something like "1-handed attacks can be parried".
Good job on the Champion Gundyr.👍 You didn't even need the fire bombs on his second phase. Jumps are more horizontal long jumps in DS3. When your life bar icon is on fire, you are considered "Embered" your HP is larger, much like the active great rune in ER, and more importantly you are capable of being invaded while embered. You don't need a summons to be invaded in DS3.
The delayed attacks in Elden Ring was to make the difficulty fresh for everyone. To make Dark Souls veterans cry. It was a brilliant idea actually cuz it also works in reverse. I played ER first then went bloodborne then DS1,2&3.
It's interesting to see the confidence of a player coming from Elden Ring to Dark Souls 3. It's completely different from someone who played a previous Dark Souls game, it's a lot more fair (Still some bs fights) but there's less that can go absolutely sideways. And it's hilarious how you become so much more cautious as you progress!
@primacon idk which bosses you've fought yet but there are around 3 challenging bosses in ds3 imo: 1)nameless king 2)prince loriac 3)the abyss watchers 4)pontif sulivan, the rest are very easy after you beat elden ring and melania
The flask don't heal u as much because when u die in darksouls u become soulless an u have to get to a bonfire before u can become alive again so wile ur technically soulless u don't get the same heal
As someone who played Elden Ring as my first souls, I found Dark Souls 3 suprisingly easy. Most bosses took me no more than 10 tries, the movesets were infinitelely more intuitive and more fun to learn. I beat bosses like Pontiff, Gael, and Dancer all in 2 or 3 tries.
How are people saying ds3 is the hardest dark souls game? Its the most accessible one, and much less bs that happens then in other souls games. It was my first souls game and i beat all the main game bosses with only 1-2 deaths at most for any boss, some i beat first try, like the final boss.
@@CyberpunkF Gundyr doesn't have much health, especially if you use fire on him, he's pretty easy to beat. And the tutorial is at the beginning if u read all the messages on the ground.
@@CyberpunkF also rolling and swinging your weapon take alot less stamina then other dark souls and stamina regenerates faster. You can also heal while you're moving which u couldn't do in the other games. Weapon durability is also something you basically never have to worry about. Oh and poison is also much slower then any other dark souls so u don't have to worry much at all about your health.
Oh no no.. if you want the suffering, you should head to Dark Souls 2 with DLC. That's where you recieve true difficulty. DLC will truly show you despair..

ngl, it did feel so hard in early game. But 3 to 4 hour in, i just breeze through the whole game. It lives up to the hype though. Such an amazing game.
The thing that sets these games apart is the pace. Personally I think because I’ve played all the souls games in order, I found Elden ring quite a challenge (only because I didn’t roam and over level, I played it as you would play a dark souls)

Preach brother been playing since d1 elden ring is a completely different beast
but nameless king still hits like a truck, has a lot of hp, has two phases, and hits fast from far distances almost giving you no chance to run away and heal. Right?
@@jackhackworth644 The nameless king really wasn't that hard, so...
When will people learn that people find different things difficult? I found ds 3 to be significantly harder than elden ring, just because of how much stronger you can be in elden ring in comparison to other souls games. And I was introduced to the genre with elden ring, followed by the og dark souls.
You literally cannot play if you’re not good enough to beat the tutorial that’s the best part
0:01 The controversy for every new FS release is people crying “too difficult.” It’s not even worth listening to anymore.
the whole point of a souls game is that it’s difficult… why are people complaining about intentional game design????
@@VeryRareEggthat’s not the sole point of the games. Difficulty JUST for the sake of difficulty isn’t what made these games so great. It’s why ds2 and now the Elden ring dlc final boss are as controversial as they are

Going back to Ds3 after ER's DLC just surprised me with how absurdly easy it was, before ER a DS3 playthrough would usually take me about 15-20 hours, this time it took 8 hours to beat everything. . .Still love the game and that's never changing but damn that DLC changed me
ds3 was my first souls game and it was brutal
Dark souls 3 is such a cakewalk after elden ring
nameless king might remind you of ER though 🤣
10:03 Jacksepticeye? Is that you?
The reason you cant leave the shrine sometimes is because it has to load in everything so they put up a wall
i disagree, dark souls 1 and 3 including the dlc i find are much easier than elden ring
Even more, they are one of the easiest souls like game
in my opinion, ds1 had its difficulty from the actual levels, not the bosses (blighttown)
your full of shit stream it and prove it elden ring was made to get casuals into souls games without scaring them off then gets harder later in the game ds3 and 1 however is hard from the jump

How much of a blessing it is to see someone play this game and not have all the surprises spoiled already.
Good thing you started with the Mercenary . He's got the strongest weapon in the game as a starting weapon hahaha
Nah, estoc with the assassin
It’s genuinely magical to see someone who started later in the series explore the earlier games, hope ya have a good time with ds3
Currently going through achievements for Dark Souls 3. I have tremendous respect for those who committed to collecting all rings.
I have the platinum for ds3 and trust me that wasnt much fun to do 😂
Btw The covenants are the worst achievement to do and I did it offline, it took me several days and im never going to do something similar again
It's pretty amazing how 2 fairly small features like crouching and jumping can change the game so much. (At least for me)
Bro started with the best weapon in the game and immediately switched it to the katana haha
You can jump in darksouls.
You have always been able to jump in darksouls, it's just not the 'A' button.
I wish I could've watched him fight the OG WamBam Katana Man. Back when he did 3 times that dmg and had crazy poise.
To be fair the 1st area of dark souls 3 is probably one of the toughest start to a souls game. It gets easier after that and the bosses aren't that tough either but that start is rough.
1:03 im an elden ring player , i have over 500 hours on the game , i tried to play bloodborune and just quit after the first boss
I'm so used to traveling with bonfires that i still to this day, accidently go to a grace and sit down before opening my map and fast traveling
If you were in 1-handed attacks, the naked guy (sword master) in stance would normally parry you. The parry rule is something like "1-handed attacks can be parried".
Bro there’s no way he didn’t equip the katana because he confused it with another weapon 😢😂
DS3 was my first Souls game and I started as a Wretch. Fun times, the Dancer of the Boreal Valley gives me PTSD.
Good job on the Champion Gundyr.👍
You didn't even need the fire bombs on his second phase.
Bro... looking at the talisman (miracle casting item) and thinking youre looking at the uchi was painful.
There are three things that make Elden ring easier then Dark Souls 3 and you've experienced them no jump no map and no open world
It's interesting to see the confidence of a player coming from Elden Ring to Dark Souls 3.
Bro you forgot midir and gael?
Bro didn't play the dlcs
Anyone else after playing all souls game then elden ring have ptsd over chests? Every chest in elden ring i smacked just in case 😂
I facepalm so much. Just as you was wondering how to jump. I fell right past the message that tells you
The faith thing was both hilarious and enraging LOL.
MY GUY YOU WERE LOOKING AT THE WRONG ITEM
somehow i just become paranoid about this boss, cause you know, the other guy who attack really fast in alternate universe
Uhhh you can jump in DS. DS 1 it's hold B and then tap B. and DS3 it's hold B and press L3
The flask don't heal u as much because when u die in darksouls u become soulless an u have to get to a bonfire before u can become alive again so wile ur technically soulless u don't get the same heal
I love the fact that the popularity of Elden Ring, has prompted a bunch of people to play this masterpiece. I love this trend.
That was a chime weapon selected instead of uchigatana like you'd thought. The faith was required for the chime not uchigatana
How are people saying ds3 is the hardest dark souls game? Its the most accessible one, and much less bs that happens then in other souls games. It was my first souls game and i beat all the main game bosses with only 1-2 deaths at most for any boss, some i beat first try, like the final boss.
I mean pretty much zero tutorial no Summons and no way to get overleveled. You can't even play the game without beating Gundyr.
@@CyberpunkF Gundyr doesn't have much health, especially if you use fire on him, he's pretty easy to beat. And the tutorial is at the beginning if u read all the messages on the ground.
@@CyberpunkF you can get over leveled too, just keep farming certain areas that drop more souls.
Ds1 and Ds2 are a cakewalk. Ds3 is a little harder. The DLCs are way harder
Oh no no.. if you want the suffering, you should head to Dark Souls 2 with DLC. That's where you recieve true difficulty. DLC will truly show you despair..
Quagmire ahead...
I came from the streets of yarnham when beginning my souls journey, didn’t have elden ring but my dad had all of the dark souls games so I played them and loved them, I ended up playing demon souls and sekiro after because one was on ps plus and one was on sale… played elden ring last 😂 made it so much easier
how many adds do you want in one video: yes
My first souls game and the one that made me fall in love with this franchise (my profile says it all), the game that gave me most of the best moments I ever felt in a videogame (beating abbys watchers, nameless king, friede, midir, Irithyll arrival...), still my favourite till this day, it made me learn to have patience and enjoy the defeat, and in terms of art design is my favourite too
Welcome to dark souls... Prepare too suffer.
There is jumping. You hold run and tap the run button while running
ngl, it did feel so hard in early game.
Yall have been sleeping on this Dexterity/Shortbow build. Its pretty crazy, almost like an easy mode for this game.
My brother in christ there is no "easy mode setup" in DS3 the game is just easy lmao if you're even remotely decent at parrying then the only 2 "challenging bosses" of the base game in pontiff sulivan and champion gundyr are complete jokes and don't even bring up nameless king cuz that boss is an ACTUAL joke with how slow he is
@@javieracevedo2362my boy get a life
Looks at the chime stats and thinks it’s an Uchi… dafuq you doing dawg??
Sekiro is something different but when u learn how Perry its so satisfying
Guys in case you forget, this guy played Elden Ring. Like if you forget, he will bring it up every 5 minutes. Pretty much remember, this guy played Elden Ring, don't forget alright.
I beat ds3 twice in two years and almost beat elden ring in a few weeks lol when it first came out and six years too beat ds2 when it first came out lol
