Same. It's been a while since I've gotten to see someone on the left side of "git gud." I think we all remember when we, too, called foul and yelled at the game for being "janky" or "unfair" when it was just a matter of learning the games rules.

The difficulty is what makes the game so rewarding. idk how many times I stood up and cheered after killing a boss who's been beating me for hours. I remember jumping with Joy after killing the Nameless King
It works both ways IMO. I also played 3 before one but DS3 has so many references to Dark Souls 1 that I still often went like "Ahh I remember this" or "Ahh so that's how it was like at first".
@@valentinvas6454 I don’t know, man, the surprise and context are just gone at that point. You’d just go “oooh, so that’s what that was all about”, instead of the “holy shit, this is the greatest thing in the world” like you would if you played DS1 first
Another crazy thing about this game is the 2 huge secret areas. You get to one by knocking down a bridge and then climbing down it (so unbelievably easy to miss) and then to get to the other, you have to use a specific emote and wait a certain amount of time. It’s crazy
Have you considered maybe trying the exile greatsword? It’s not as fast, sure, but you seem to like tanking damage so a greatsword would give you some hyper armor for your attacks. It also has a cool WA and sometimes all you need is a vibe change. Love your content. Don’t go Hollow, you can do this! ❤
Good lord that brings back memories, that sword was pure pvp nightmare with upwards of 1300+ dmg on a R1+WA. PvE melts just as fast it's such a crazy STR weapon.
Darksouls 3 was the first souls game I played , and the abyss watchers almost made me quit the game, but when I was about to give up and uninstall it I tried a little more and managed to do it. Since then I've been in love with souls games, I played the entire ds3, elden ring, bloodborne and I have sekiro and ds1 ready to go.
You beat ‘Lies of P’, you’ve got this keep going. Only thing I’d say is that it looks like you’re doing a challenge run, by not using everything the game gives you. Anyway great video, you’ll soon get to 100k. 👍
After putting in hundreds of hours into DS1, DS2 & Bloodborne. I found DS3 pretty easy, except for bosses like Nameless King and Dankeater Midir. I always had to summon players to help me with those guys. I haven't played Elden Ring yet though.
Respect I played early game lord of the fallen and raged and souls is harder plan to get monster hunter world on steam and it’s supposedly easier but still decently challenging
It's always part of the fun about DS games is seeing how other people do vs the various bosses. For me personally this boss was a first try. I don't know if I was over leveled or not but I managed to beat him first attempt being extremely patient.
Yeah I don't know what this dude is talking about. He said that he heard that lies of P was harder then d3? Lies of P is probably the easiest game in that genre...
Honestly I gotta say without RUclips or google, elden is way harder hands down, but I think most of the boss fights are around the same difficulty, I personally just favor dark souls because of its tight spaces and layered aesthetic. Could just be my nostalgia though cause it was my first souls game
Dark souls 3 was my first souls game I ever played... It was a nightmare trying to play through it but also one of the best games I've experienced once all was said and done
Katanas are just beginning of the game weapons. You need the Flamberge, the Wolf Sword, or an Ax as a mid-game weapon. Level up that stamina too. That is what allows you to use heavier armor as well.
in Ds3 panic rolling is a death sentence I feel like ER was a little more lenient on that lol. When I saw the Dark knights behind you I cackled bc I knew exactly what was gonna happen 🤣. Bro you're killing me with that kick, I've never seen someone Struggle with that so hard 🤣
Relatable 😂 Keep going, and don't get discouraged. Abyss Watchers are fun. If you stop there, you'll be missing out on bosses who are wayyy more fun to play with 😊
Ayyyy I thought I remembered your voice. I watched you finish Lies of P which I was also having a blast with at the time... and now here you are playing my favorite game of all time!
Bro, your thoughts are very similar to all our thoughts on our first playthrough.... Abyss Watchers seem impossible at first, my best advice, soul farm, level up as much as possible. It'll take time but worth it!
You want to have easy time ? Either grab straight sword and shield or grab the boss weapon from vordt ( Big mace with icing on it. ) Game is a cakewalk with either of those options. Plus I from my experience having something ranged to pull enemies is very handy and also not running like headless chicken and not letting yourself to get surrounded / flanked also helps a lot.
Also, you kick by pressing foward and the light attack at the same time. If you are already holding foward when you attack, or is not moving, you'll attack, but if you press foward and L1(or whatever is your light attack button) u'll kick. Believe be, is harder to do when you want than when you don't want. btw, it's used to kick enemies shield, so you break their instance.
It’s important to grind bro! Get that XP up and level over and over!! That area is perfect for XP farming, that’s how I beat the Bosses there! Good video! DS3 is definitely a hard frustrating game but it’s doable 😂
3:00 - tbf you can just open door behind him (animation makes you invulnerable to damage), lit the bonfire thats outside and just cheese this guy on the doorway since he cant leave the building
The "I'm always lost, and don't know where I'm supposed to be" is something that hits me on all Souls Games and I swear them off. I'm hoping Elden Ring (which currently is better) helps.
Last souls game I played was DS2... the increased attack speed is such a welcoming sight to me. It definitely has Bloodborne vibes, though I will miss my Hunter's Axe.
Dark souls 3 was my most played dark souls game. The funniest part of him dying to that creature in the basement is all you have to do is guide it to the elevator and go up while it lunges. It falls in the hole and dies lmfao. Or literally run past and use the door and hit the bonfire. Great game. The most fun I’ve ever had in a game online was during the ringed city release. I was one of the first to learn about the church boss fight on release because I ran through the majority of the dlc. Didn’t really madir was a thing and the twins glitched for me so I instakilled both of them almost instantly by them being stuck in a rock. I rebuilt my character after getting molliwhopped to the regeneration build that bodied me. Bro I was doing 1v3s ALL DAY. The shit was so fun
FYI bandits knife and rapier are the best weapons in the game. bandits knife has quickstep fast attacks and bleed " imbue it with a bleed gem, and rapier make it sharp and get 30 faith for sunlight blade it shreds everything is super fast and "i think it has a parry" build dex hp stamina and 30 faith also Caestus is the best offhand weapon in game imbue it with a simple buff for slow regen to fp best pary phrames in game and has a great special ability.
Talk to the blacksmith in FLS and switch that blue flask to a healing flask. Also the kick is when you move forward and R1 at the same time. I hate that sh-t too. You have to be embered to fight red NPC invaders so try to save em. Limited number per play through
I beat DS 3 a couple of years ago, and just started a new game this week. I got a little hung up on Abyss Watchers, they killed me like 5 times in a row, and was thinking, "WTF? I beat Nameless, Princes, etc., why can't I beat these guys?" Then I remembered Dark Souls rule #2 (right after "git gud"): stop doing the same thing over and over if it's not working. In my case, I was (a) dodge rolling in the wrong direction, and (b) whiffing on my strikes because my weapon range was too short. I switched out my weapon (to the Irithyll frostbite sword; never tried it before) and tried rolling to the *other* side, and beat them almost immediately. Cool story bro? Thanks for the relatable content. You'll beat them
Elden Ring was so fun because i suffered so much in Dark Souls. Enemies except a couple bosses never got me, my greatest enemy was always gravity and falling off cliffs.
Yeah I was struguling with the Abbys watchers the same way, I was trying to beat them for 2 days. At some point I learned crutial thing that I need to maintain distance in the second fase and attack when he dose cirtain move. And whenever I was close to him more than 2 attack moves he would kill me.
I played through Elden Ring as my first Soul's Game then played through Dark Souls 1 and 2 with me currently in the middle of Dark Souls 3. It is challenging but definitely not the hardest time I've had. I just needed to adapt my play style a bit and think through how I do things. Like how I used a Bow to separate those two NPC enemies in the Swamp area so I didn't get ganked. As long as you play carefully and have a bit of patience then it isn't to bad. Dogs are about the same across all the Souls games so dodge to the side and immediately strike them before they repeatedly beat your cheeks.

@@KillingKarmatically when you're fighting you should either be holding forward and then press attack, or press attack while not moving. Moving forward and attacking at the exact same time will cause the kick.
I kinda wish there was an option to turn it off or something, because some people go through the game entirely without using it.
Everyone said lies of p was mega hard. Tbh I found it easier than any souls game. However 1 or 2 bosses nearly made me rage quit the game. It has one flaw though and that's the throwables being op against bosses
the moment he was complaining about the lack of bosses but then his next door was abyss watchers.
i knew he was beyond cooked
This is hilarious to me. DS3 was my first Souls/FS game. Curious to see how the rest of the game goes. Nameless King will be great to watch.
Same. It's been a while since I've gotten to see someone on the left side of "git gud."
I think we all remember when we, too, called foul and yelled at the game for being "janky" or "unfair" when it was just a matter of learning the games rules.
Odds are he wont find the nameless king
@@LG-gd7lo lol If he's playing without a guide, which seems reasonable to assume, I would say you are right.
@@LG-gd7lo I can almost hear the commentary talking about what bullshit it is that getting there is so hidden, and then the constant discussion of how hard the base enemies are and the dragon lol
@@LG-gd7loand what about midir lol
"This boss is easy" and the abyss watchers took that personally! 1000+ hrs in this game and its never boring to watch someone play through it the first time! Poor innocent lambs...
Theres a estus upgrade ring somewhere in firelink shrine ;)
Theres also no shame if you just want to look up locations for estus upgrade materials. you'll need them
I can definitely see the Bloodborne levels of aggression in your play style. Also, the kick is when you tap forward and attack at the same time; you probably worked that out already though.
The Abyss watchers are pretty straight forward if you bait out the back stab!!
The difficulty is what makes the game so rewarding. idk how many times I stood up and cheered after killing a boss who's been beating me for hours.
I remember jumping with Joy after killing the Nameless King
i’m the happiest man on earth when I find a single bonfire
Shame that you’ll miss out on some great DS3 moments by not playing DS1 first but I’m still hyped as hell to see how badly this goes
PvE melts just as fast it's such a crazy STR weapon.
killing the tree is a great idea for the kiln. i honestly love the greatswords you can get from boss souls
Brother. Your flasks are +1 im almost certain you can upgrade them more by this stage
Yeah, you can have it at +3 by this stage.
It’s not a choice though. The challenge presented itself 😂
so nice to see a blind run so much later! so many good memories thank you.
DS3 is my favorite souls game. Art design, gameplay, lore. Just does it for me. First play through was so much fun. So was the 50th.
After putting in hundreds of hours into DS1, DS2 & Bloodborne. I found DS3 pretty easy, except for bosses like Nameless King and Dankeater Midir. I always had to summon players to help me with those guys. I haven't played Elden Ring yet though.
also, the kick imput is walk forwards and light attack, what it does is basically breaks the guard of enemies with shields
I thought dark souls was easy, and then I played Elden ring.
Respect I played early game lord of the fallen and raged and souls is harder plan to get monster hunter world on steam and it’s supposedly easier but still decently challenging
It's always part of the fun about DS games is seeing how other people do vs the various bosses.
For me personally this boss was a first try. I don't know if I was over leveled or not but I managed to beat him first attempt being extremely patient.
so PAINFUL to watch
I’ve been replaying DS3 for the first time since Elden Ring and it’s really nice during boss fights having enough time to drink again.
Personally Elden ring gave me more trouble than dark souls 3
Yes me too
Yeah I don't know what this dude is talking about. He said that he heard that lies of P was harder then d3? Lies of P is probably the easiest game in that genre...
Another crabs treasure is harder
Honestly I gotta say without RUclips or google, elden is way harder hands down, but I think most of the boss fights are around the same difficulty, I personally just favor dark souls because of its tight spaces and layered aesthetic. Could just be my nostalgia though cause it was my first souls game
This has to be 🧢
You can do this! I struggled on the abyss watchers myself and I'm now on journey 3.
This video just makes me feel great about myself knowing I could handle this fight within ten tries my first play through
Dark souls 3 was my first souls game I ever played... It was a nightmare trying to play through it but also one of the best games I've experienced once all was said and done
I remember putting down DS3 for a long time when I was at the Abyss Watchers Boss Fight too!!
😂😂 it really is a rite of passage for the entire game.
Katanas are just beginning of the game weapons. You need the Flamberge, the Wolf Sword, or an Ax as a mid-game weapon. Level up that stamina too. That is what allows you to use heavier armor as well.
I relate to the random air kicks so bad! It happens when you push the joystick down and flick up so it always accidentally happens
Watching you play reminds me of the first times I played this game. Such painful memories lmao
in Ds3 panic rolling is a death sentence I feel like ER was a little more lenient on that lol. When I saw the Dark knights behind you I cackled bc I knew exactly what was gonna happen 🤣. Bro you're killing me with that kick, I've never seen someone Struggle with that so hard 🤣
ER lets you panic roll for free.
If you go back to the crab place there is a really cool looking armor
Literally how I be talkin dagum this was great/hilarious man keep being you! 🔥🔥🔥
Abyss Watchers fight had me SHOOK back in the day. That sh*t as a casual (albeit a persistent casual that watches RUclips tips) was ROUGH
Bro, your thoughts are very similar to all our thoughts on our first playthrough....
Abyss Watchers seem impossible at first, my best advice, soul farm, level up as much as possible. It'll take time but worth it!
DS3 is my first time playing souls game and its amazing - my friend guiding me through the game when I struggle so it makes stuff a bit easier
does this man even praise the sun?
i recently watched this after a 100% elden ring, i'm going back through 1-2&3. great videos and godspeed
Seeing the Ashen Estus flask taking up a charge in the background. Oh the pain ;)
You want to have easy time ? Either grab straight sword and shield or grab the boss weapon from vordt ( Big mace with icing on it. ) Game is a cakewalk with either of those options. Plus I from my experience having something ranged to pull enemies is very handy and also not running like headless chicken and not letting yourself to get surrounded / flanked also helps a lot.
it was so cool how your friend helped you at this time 18:41
Also, you kick by pressing foward and the light attack at the same time. If you are already holding foward when you attack, or is not moving, you'll attack, but if you press foward and L1(or whatever is your light attack button) u'll kick. Believe be, is harder to do when you want than when you don't want.
btw, it's used to kick enemies shield, so you break their instance.
"am I underlevel for this area?" nope, just underlevel for the game 😔
Nice job taking that step back to explore. Abyss watchers is a hard boss.
Dark pyromancer build is pretty dope, I literally had a win streak of 12 in 1v1's. Rocked the onyx blade to complement the build.
Funny to see everyone's experience with this fight. As its considered one of the more easy fights by most people
This literally made me laugh out loud. Thank you for that Ashen One ❤❤
I love the abyss watchers, such cool lore.
Backstabs works wonders on this game. Also get bone shards to increase your healing. I look forward to watching you beat this💯
for me its like
1 Bloodborne
2 Dark Souls 3
3 Elden Ring (without mimic)
4 Dark Souls 1
5 Code Vein
6 Dark Souls 2
FYI bandits knife and rapier are the best weapons in the game. bandits knife has quickstep fast attacks and bleed " imbue it with a bleed gem, and rapier make it sharp and get 30 faith for sunlight blade it shreds everything is super fast and "i think it has a parry" build dex hp stamina and 30 faith also Caestus is the best offhand weapon in game imbue it with a simple buff for slow regen to fp best pary phrames in game and has a great special ability.
Dark Souls 3 will always be my favorite. I just love it
I love how you said he doesn’t get staggered, then immediately realized afterwards that he does get staggered like four separate times 😂
3:34 "Another bonfire yo this games treating me good right now"
*in front of the swamp of assclappery*
Elden Ring baby's first soulsborn
Talk to the blacksmith in FLS and switch that blue flask to a healing flask.
Also the kick is when you move forward and R1 at the same time. I hate that sh-t too.
You have to be embered to fight red NPC invaders so try to save em. Limited number per play through
Honestly, thought this was a Zanny video by the thumbnail
I beat DS 3 a couple of years ago, and just started a new game this week. I got a little hung up on Abyss Watchers, they killed me like 5 times in a row, and was thinking, "WTF? I beat Nameless, Princes, etc., why can't I beat these guys?"
Then I remembered Dark Souls rule #2 (right after "git gud"): stop doing the same thing over and over if it's not working.
You'll beat them
YOOO big W with the hotel Krat music in the background 🔥🔥🔥
Elden Ring was so fun because i suffered so much in Dark Souls. Enemies except a couple bosses never got me, my greatest enemy was always gravity and falling off cliffs.
Astora Greatsword users when they hear people say DS3 is really punishing:
😂😆🤣
enters abyss watchers fight: "don't tell me i gotta fight two" famous last word xD
“Get up faster!!” “This is urgent damn!” 😂 Just beat abyss watchers and i felt that so hard.
