    My mom and I had 2 sets of sea-monkeys before she past she said she wanted to get some more sea-monkeys. It's been 5yrs now since she left but I finally ordered a set , we loved our sea-monkeys and I'm looking forward to have fun with them again.
    And that's an awesome set looks very fun to watch them swim while enjoying some popcorn , wish they bring it back.

    “Equally ridiculous as is it wholesome” describes Seamonkeys _perfectly!_ I wish the company would take you onboard as a consultant because you are almost always correct when you point out flaws and ways to fix them. While I think this tank has an interesting concept, my issues with it are exactly those you pointed out. With a brighter LED (and batteries that can either be plugged in and/or charged) it would make a great nightlight! I think I’m going to try and find something similar to this because I love the idea of having giant sea monkey shadows on my bedroom wall. ❤️ from Canada
    ETA: I think a video on appropriate tank mates is an awesome idea and I look forward to a future video on the topic!

    The tank looks neat, but my favourite part is probably the lack of the magnifying bubbles. I wish they'd do that more often.
    I also wanted to say that I really appreciate you showing us the entire thing all in one video, unlike some other videos where they say to wait two weeks, and you have to wait two more weeks for the video to come out. I find I've often totally forgotten about it by then, so I really enjoy how you condense the time down for the viewers. It really makes me realise just how many tanks you must have going at once to be able to have consistent uploads. Kudos!

      Totally agree about the magnifying bubbles! It definitely makes this tank a lot nicer to look at. Glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos too :) I usually have around 3-4 tanks set up at the same time waiting for the Sea-Monkeys to finish growing 😅 I’m probably not going to do another Sea-Monkey tank review for a while though, going to focus on some slightly different content

    I really like that Sea-Monkeys Big Show tank with its theatrical theme which would be perfect for anyone, but particularly for someone with a home theatre setup/screening room/media room to add to their movie enthusiasm and in terms of adding that USB mini heater and an aerating stone, I suppose one could carefully drill two holes in the lid to accommodate the width of the tubes.

    I had a chance to buy this tank several years ago, and I didn't do it, and have regretted it ever since. It's a neat idea! Admittedly you can recreate the effect yourself with like, a flashlight, I suppose, but not nearly as neatly and adorably. Love the video and really appreciate the full review of the tank!
    Personally I'd love to see more of your take on tankmates for sea monkeys. I've found that the tiny marine invertebrates are more common as live cultures (usually as feeding stock for marine tanks) than as eggs--maybe that's an option? I've debated getting some myself to try acclimating them, though, but haven't gotten around to it. And oh! I've also wanted to try snails for the absolute longest time! Love your little mollusk friends and glad to see they seem to be doing well. The main thing that's kept me from snails is trying to find some in the hobby that are small enough for a Sea Monkey tank, as I don't know of any tide pools near me and I'm unsure of the protected status of wildlife here (Florida) besides.
    (I tried to post this from my invertebrate hobby account, Itty Bitty Beasties, but for some reason the comments wouldn't load over there. So personal account it is I guess, and sorry this got so long!)

    Have a look at "USB Battery Eliminator" kits; they step the 5v of USB down to the right voltage to replace a number of AA or AAA batteries. Some have alligator clips to grab the metal bits the batteries make contact with, but there's also kits with dummy batteries which can be easier to fit.
    Personally, I just find a 3v or 4.5v power adapter and solder it to the battery contacts, but that can be a bit much to ask a kid to do...

    I remember buying one of these many years ago. That tank has shrunk a lot over the years.

    I love this idea, and the tinker in me has ideas on how to improve the projector. Would make a great addition to my horror hosting show.

    You can not go past how adorable the "theatre" base is! Especially with the ticket girl waiting to help with your ticket inquiries. Would love to see same same but a more modern version without the need for replaceable batteries.
    Also am very interested in upcoming vids re SeaMonkey tank friends!!

    Thank you for showing that tank, I never would of been interested in it. I appreciate how you show the good and not so good things about the tanks and include some history about the artwork. When I was a kid, I used to use a flash light to project the Sea-Monkey images on the wall. I had seen the little screen for sale at Sea-Monkeys and wished I would of bought one now. I am very interested in seeing more about Sea-Monkey buddies like the snails. I love your videos, keep up the great work...

    I like the idea of keeping a diverse ecosphere inside these sea monkey tanks, just so the space is used to its maximum efficiency, and having a more naturally diverse tank is really cool.
    If only I could keep salt water fish, and just have Brine shrimp swimming around in it!

    • @pico-cosmos
      @pico-cosmos  Год назад +2

      Haha that would be cool! Though I think most fish species would probably eat the brine shrimp 🙃

      @trixxyvkitsune4347 Год назад +1

      @Picocosmos more than likely, considering they're a food source for most captive fish.
      But the idea would be that the shrimp would make enough babies to avoid being wiped out.
      Like, putting fish inside an already established large colony, with plenty of space in the tank.

    Sea monkeys are so nostalgic for me. I remember being so excited as a kid when I got a sea monkey tank, then disappointed when my sea monkeys looked nothing like the ad artwork. With age though, I've grown to really appreciate these little creatures for what they are.

    This might be my favourite tank so far, I can't believe how many variations there are. I think the visibility is really good and the projector light works alot better than I thought it would.
    And yes please do a tank mates video!

    Another benefit of you opening up products and sharing them with the world is … I had no idea there were specialized instructions inside the Big Show tank. I looked inside my opened one and sure enough … there they were. It’s now been scanned and added to my digital archive.
    It seems like most of the novelty tanks are interesting to have and to look at … but not very practical for viewing Sea-Monkeys. Something for Dragon-I to think about if they ever expand the line to include more interesting tank designs.
    I also opened up an English languages ExploraToy Ocean-Zoo kit from Italy today. It had an interesting insert in it advertising all of the ExploraToy products from 2000 in Italian. Interesting. I know later on Italian translation was added to the exterior tank wrap as well.
    It’s always something weird with Sea-Monkeys.

      That little instruction sheet is neat huh! I noticed that that tank design on it is also very square, so it seems that was definitely the initial design shape concept.
      Interesting tidbit about the Italian Ocean Zoo! Thanks for sharing Tod :)
