  • @ToneyDark upgrades from MST Performance Intake (aka V1) to V2 Tubes. The Initial V1 Kit was was made for the Mercedes C43, but Frankensteined to work on a W212 E400 (V1 fits fine except engine cover, so "upgraded to C43 engine cover). V2 Tubes don't work with either engine cover, but the power gains are a huge difference. Builds boost so much faster now.

    How are u able to get cold air now ? Since the tubes don’t fit ?
    Already the air filter pods u put in are getting hot air but now no cold air at all ?

      You cant. This is a hot air intake, maybe higher flow but lower density air. I'm guessing it would be better to leave stock intakes and upgrade intercooler

    First, great video and truly appreciate what you do. I am trying to locate the power steering reservoir and have not able to find it. Do you know where it is? I am having an issue with mine is when I pull in to a parking lot, if I turn the steering wheel to the left then turn to the right, I hear these cracking noise come from the front. Not sure if it is the suspension or wheel bearing.
    Any suggestions from anyone is appreciated.

    • @d.l.4867
      @d.l.4867 3 года назад

      This car doesn't have Hydraulic power steering, so you'renot going to find a reservoir. It's Electric, woogie woogie woogie (I'm Jamaican, couldn't help it). So yea the power assisted steering is handled via an electromagnetic rack (EPS). It adds power assist at low speeds and artificial resistance at high speeds in sport mode. The noise you hear is probably noise in the steering linkage. I hear the same in mine. When it breaks, I'll be more worried. For now, 🤷🏾‍♂️.

    Hey Toney, awesome video. I was wondering if your car passes smog with this system installed. I'm thinking of getting the V2 system and wanted to make sure that my vehicle will pass smog once installed. Thanks!

    • @Toneydark
      @Toneydark  2 года назад +1

      You shouldn't have any issues passing smog given this doesn't modify the exhaust system. Mercedes stock air intake is all about noise suppression not Smog. If it was an exhaust. mod, I'd have a different opinion. You should be fine

    Do those silicone tubes just attach to the turbo inlet with a hose clamp? The factory one is bolted on.

      Thanks! I honestly have no idea if it will or won't. I always recommend keeping your factory stuff if you are under warranty. If you have issues reinstall your factory stuff before going to the dealer (swap doesn't take more than 20 mins). You really shouldn't have issues as long as it is installed correctly.

    I just got the mst intake and installed it and I got the check engine light and my throttle was all messed up every time I pressed the gas it would take long to respond so I tried glueing the sensors to the air filter and rearranged them too it worked I didn’t have check engine light anymore and got it to respond normally, yesterday I felt it happened again it wasn’t responding properly I’d push on the gas and it would take my foot to go all the way down before it picks up speed , so I picked the hood up to see if anything was wrong and the glue was all liquid and melted off but I have no check engine light.. can someone help me is this a problem with the sensors or something else?

      The main issue sounds like your Air meters aren't seated properly in the filters. This is causing inaccurate measurements and that bad data is being sent to your Engine computer(causing slow throttle). You shouldn't need to glue the sensors in. You need to pull them out and check the seals(O-Rings). They need to be seated correctly. Just do what I did and lubricate, first before pushing them in. Also Sounds like you're forcing the seals in and making the o-ring slip off. Lubricate them and work them in a little more gently. As far as glue, you can't use any old glue in an engine bay. Engine bay temps get up to like 180-190 degrees when stopped. Only RTVs/Silcone, and certain epoxies can survive that environment for long periods. I don't recommend gluing those sensors because you may change air filters. RTVs also have 24hr full cure times and the sensors can't be crooked(which is probably the issue you're having now).

    What are the differences between the c43 and E400 engines? Thanks

    • @JustcuzTVOfficial
      @JustcuzTVOfficial 3 года назад +2

      On the c450/e450/older c43, The tune on the engine computer and the engine cover are the biggest differences. They are both m276 engines (3.5L true.twin turbo).
      SN: The newer c43/e43 has a diff engine thats a 3.0L turbo with electric assist. Think of a turbo with an alternator/generator on it. Its basically supposed to allownyounto have a bigger turbo but remove the lag a bigger turbo would normally have.
