Imagine being a clone, fighting against droids during the clone wars, watching your fellow clones die, but somehow you managed to survive the war. Then the empire decided to replace 70% of your body with cybernetics. And now, now you’ve become the very thing you swore to destroy.
On the bright side, you can crush Rebel Scum easier.

Some people might thinks that dark troopers suck, because the entire project got severally hindered by single man.
They forget that the man who took DT down was equivalent of Chuck Norris and Doom guy in the star wars universe.

I prefer the battlefront 2 dark trooper. With the arc caster, I could wipe out entire squads of people that don't know what spacing is.

god yes. It helped that it was the perfect weapon for him too. Jump in, blast them and then if you timed it right, jump out before the enemy can react.

@@adamsosna7263 battlefront1 dark trooper could 1 shot u at medium range with his shotgun, no matter the soldier class. Battlefront2 bolt chaster only did like 60-70% damage when charged up. Hell the bolt caster from the clone pilot in battlefront1 was still more powerful than the battlefront2 dark trooper's

Phase 2 dark troopers were referred to as purge troopers in the first force unleashed and an energy shield for one arm and some type of hand to hand combat weapon on the other are in addition to the the weapons and armor already stated (legends)

Rom Mohc’s biggest mistake was using a single ship to produce and deploy Dark Troopers, instead of a decentralized network of smaller factory ships. It would save credits, as well as prevent a single one-man army Rebel-aligned mercenary from stopping an entire Imperial project.
Love the lore behind Dark Troopers but the fucking Empire just couldn't stop centralizing their most powerful shit 😫

I don’t get the phase 1 design at all.
Put the materials of the shield onto their chest to cover their power cables and put a blaster in that hand instead.
Solved both weaknesses with little cost.
You have to realize if a dark trooper is going skrrt skrrt then the armor is not important
Phase 1 was more so a proof-of-concept than a functional design, hence why they were relegated to guard duty.

funny thing, i just finished a sidequest in SWTOR Imp side where a rogue Sith Lord, Lord Grathan, has turned captured Imperial soldiers into droids
There is a mod for bf2 called "the exiles voyage" and there is a unit called the inquisitorium dark trooper. They took a whole clip from a rifle to take down, they had an electrostaff and a rapid machine gun. They are nightmares to take down, and fun to play as :)

There was also the Exogen Class Darktrooper which had limited production shortly after Yavin. They were mainly used on backwater worlds like Tatooine though and were similarly designed to Storntroopers, even to the point of wearing white armor sets.
I remember reading the early Rogue Squadron, for some reason I’ve had it stuck in my head that the Deep Space Trooper was a Dark Trooper.

Don't want to nitpick, but 6:06 is a Legends Purge Trooper. I know the canon Phase 2 Dark Trooper is almost identical in design, but since you were talking about Dark Forces, I was hoping you would show the PH2 Dark Trooper's original iteration when talking about it. Nevertheless, a great video on my favorite droid line!
Ok so I was not forgetting things, I hated those fuckers in force unleashed when I first met them. From what I remember they were a more mainstream offshoot of the program more widely accepted as a heavy sentry unit.

in SWTOR there was a mission (maybe on Dromund Kaas) where rogue imperials abducted soldiers and made them fully sentient half cyborg super soldiers who had no controll over themselves whatsoever. When they regained controll for a time they begged you to kill them.

Venerable Dreadnaught = Phase Zero Dark Trooper
In 1995 I played Dark Forces Dark Troopers (Legends). The game was so intense, I've been Doom and other FPS, but nothing like this. Normal game tactics didn't work. I had to develop guerrilla warfare. It didn't stop the nightmares I began to have. Many years later Mandalorian season 2. The first mention of the Dark Troopers, my blood ran cold. I envied the young fans who didn't know what Hell was coming, but soon they will. Then they were spared the nightmares thanks to Master Luke Skywalker, he made the DT look like soup cans.
The title feels like a Pun XD, I guess you could say that the Dark Troopers have such DARK Origin!

I've always imagined Rom Mohc being played by Michael Caine.
All the Empire needed to was the dark troopers with Z-6 rotary cannons. That weapon, combined with the rocket launchers the dark troopers already had, would have certainly devastated any and all rebel cells.
It's always nice to see proper canon videos, so much lately is about that Disney alternate reality.
