1. Some sith refuse to teach all they learn to apprentices
2. Ancient sith were more in tune with the Force
3. Special cases like Revan could channel the purest form of the force, the Light and Dark.

I remember playing KOTOR I and II, and being shocked at the different aspects of the Jedi. It was the first time that the Jedi council was portrayed in a critical manner, and the first time the Star Wars universe went into the nuances of the force and how even the Jedi order was not one hundred percent right. KOTOR II and it’s focus on the force and what it meant to survive without it was mind blowing; because I just assumed the force was necessary a RN the ultimate good.
Joh1002mm I know right kinda puts everything in a new and more interesting light, shame that in the eyes of Disney it’s all been thrown away XD but in my opinion Kotor will always be the true canon part of Star Wars....also it had the coolest Sith Lords no question
Read some more EU. Kotor was no where near the first to portray the Jedi in a critical manner.
The Jedi Order that we see in KOTOR is the luke order I would have liked to see in the new movies.
Let's see his old students and his youngest ones. And his difficulty in putting back such a great legacy.

@@revolverocelot1380 Not necessarily at the level of morality, but that we see what Luke could found in 30 years for his Jedi order. What could he do differently about the Jedi of the prelogy? May his Temple be a homecoming in an environment closer to the Force, as on the planet Dantooine in KOTOR for example.
And even Leia and Han, do not leave us (LucasFilm Disney) with this bitter feeling of having followed them for nothing.

It's not like Revan had his free-will stripped away or anything. His mind got wrecked by Malak, and the Jedi basically gave him a new identity (random; only one backstory was actually Republic-aligned). Of course they weren't going to try and restore Darth Revan's identity, that'd be asinine. And for what it's worth, Revan never killed his "friends" or "everyone he loved", as he had none of these until after his redemption.
My god was kotor 2 an amazing game. Kreia was a great character. The amount of history the game added to the universe was immense. Loved that game
Blake Gordon she really was which is funny cause I normally hate her archetype but the fact she literally did everything in the game for you is just crazy and awesome she’s probably my second or third favourite Sith Lord (also like how she doesn’t even hide the fact who she used to be from the player)

I really hope they make a bunch of animated shows/movies that focus on the old Sith. Ones like Malgus, Revan, Nihilus, Treya, Bane, Scion, etc. It'd be amazing to see those characters revisited and expanded upon. Malgus is my favorite Star Wars character of all time and he's had such a dismal amount of spotlight 😩

that was a sever force technique, but since those jedi masters were so ingrained in the force, they died off regrettably.
2 of the jedi masters were cool, except for Vrook. Vrook was always an asshole to us, even back in Kotor 1.
To be fair on the old asshole, in Kotor 1 he was forced to train/retrain a man (Revan) who brought the republic to its knees with swift decisive victories of a tactical and strategic genius. Who converted or killed thousands of jedi throughout the war upon his return as a Sith master. A man who was one if the most powerful, talented, charismatic and strong leaders that if he (Revan) were to regain his memories and revert back to the darkside he may just complete the utter destruction of both the republic and the Jedi order. He had no knowledge of the emperors brainwashing s to him he was a just a fallen Jedi.
Damn i love Kotor.
In saying that he is an asshole still. Just one i can understand. In Kotor 2 however he and the other 3 had no damn reason to do what they did. They gave in to fear and doubt even after Metra showed them contless times she was doing the right thing. While they hid and bided their time the galaxy fell into ruin.

@@jonfesi To be fair, Lucas did take inspiration from the EU for some of his prequel films.
The biggest example is Exar Kun and Darth Maul, The reason Maul uses a double-bladed lightsaber is because he liked the Exar Kun comic, which was the first appearance of a double-bladed lightsaber.
I absolutely love the Old Republic Era, as there is so much lore to explore. As much as I'd love a movie on it, I'm not too confident that any of the directors that Disney wants to use for Star Wars would do it justice.

As far as i know the idea of exterminating the sith completly and wiping them from the face of the galaxy once and for all wasn't the idea of the Jedi but the leadership of the republic of the time. That is still no excuse that the Jedi order did indeed take an active part in it. Shows us that even then the order was full with hypocricy.
Or the true first purge that lead to the birth of the Jedi, Dark Jedi, and death of the Grey Jedi. The split of Jed'ai between light and dark instead of the balance seaking Grey is the true first purge where those who practiced the light won and sought to remove all ties to the dark from the order. At the end of it we ended up with only a handful of Grey Jedi in the lore, the exile of the handful of Dark Jedi that survived and would become the Sith, and those that followed the light being all that was left in the known Galaxy who would become the Jedi.

Move forward a few thousand years and the jedi are too concerned about genociding the last two sith lords to notice the corruption all around the senate. They foolishly believed "balance" to the force meant thousands of jedi and no sith. The jedi were religious zealots no better than the sith themselves and deserved their fate.
The force created both the dark and the light. They are tools and parts of the nature of the galaxy. The only force user to truly understand this was Revan.
Lets also point out that the jedi brought this upon themselves by capturing and brainwashing Revan back into their cult because he violated their dogma in order to do what was necessary to save the galaxy. What bigger crime is there against a sentient being than to psychologically manipulate a person in such a way they did to revan.
Had the jedi done nothing then revan wouldve established his empire. Killed malek. Used the star forge to destroy the sith empire and then ushered in a new era where force users understood the light and dark sides of the force were tools and not influences. Each has their own dangers. Every single bad thing that happened after revan was brainwashed was a direct result of that crime committed by the jedi. Revan had a right to know who he was. They might've disagreed with him but they did not understand him. He chose the dark side. He was not seduced by it.
The jedi are just as evil as the sith. There are no sith. There are no jedi. There is only the force. That was the way it was originally before the proto-jedi cast out those they believed to be heretics

Yes many have argued he was the true chosen one, but Jedi were to blinded by their own dogmatic views to see it; however, if the Jedi wouldn't have foolishly exiled their dark brothers at the end of the 2nd great schism/100 year darkness then those Dark Jedi would never have come to power over the Sith Species and become the Sith Lords. Yes the Dark Side was and always will be present in the Star Wars Galaxy, but this was the true first mistake of the Jedi and their self righteousness that allowed for every evil that befell the Galaxy to happen. I think the farmer on Dantoiine in KOTOR 2 puts it best "Jedi, Sith 2 names for the same thing". To the non force sensitives and those that know the history of the Galaxy that is exactly what they are the same thing. Honestly I believe Kriea is the one true hero of Star Wars. Her one true goal was to cut the entire Galaxy off from the force. Had she been successful and not stopped by Mitra Surrik then there would have been no Jedi or Sith and all the wars that happened after would have been vastly different.

This Jedi purge did a better job of almost killing Jedi then order 66 and it’s Jedi purge
In both cases, their numbers were already considerably smaller. The wars previous to both (Mandalorian war and Clone War), already took a large percentage of the order. I always thought the movies were being facetious about there only being one last Jedi. There are plenty of light force users that still exist
Huh? After order 66 and operation knightfall 100 jedi left. Then Vader and the inquisitors hunted down the rest until there were like 6 jedi left.

Using it any other way, meaning using it for anything other than complete and utter self-sacrifice, is automatically of the Dark Side. What they later did, with Ahsoka, for instance, directly breaks Lucas-established lore and violates his canon.
Lorna vash is in korriban in normal game version. But she’s on that droid planet if you download the restored content mod. The original game was rushed so a lot of stuff was left out. Restored content mod pits much of that back in the game. I suggest downloading it if you want the full kotor 2 experience 👍

This story of the last of the jedi such as the Exile Meetra Surik her controversial disgruntled fallen master and the lost jedi she helped is a better subverting Star Wars story than Disneys The Last Jedi with their bland pointlessly overpowered Rey, butchered take on a self destructed hero Luke and idiotic resistance will ever be.

Nomi sunrider, kreia, Meetra surik, bastila/satele are perfect examples of complex, dynamic female figures who played central/leading roles during their respective eras. Their actions had profound impacts on the galaxy, and their stories were well developed compared to mary sue ray. Instead disney gives us this uncalled for piece of shit, (no disrespect for the lady who plays ray). Rey's introduction also coincided with the removal of other complex female characters that came after the empire's fall, such as mara jade and jaina solo. The frustration of a large chunk of the fanbase is not without reason. The new trilogy can burn in hell for all i care.
Barely. On screen, he lifted a rock and deflected some lasers. That's not enough to fight Darth Vader. People want Rey to go through hoops that Luke never had to.
If you think about it the more we look into star wars past(old republic era and so on) the stronger people there are. I mean put Darth Revan against Anakin. Anakin would lose terribly, even with the power of the dark side.
I believe its because of the knowledge with all the wars knowledge is lost not just with manuscripts but also technology like they had much more to read and practice on and as the years went by the last people to know about it passed away and the cycle continued

I really hate what Swtor did to Kotor 1&2's characters and side quests it completely discarded them and they ruined Revan's entire life and character, his home is gone, his friends are dead, his wife and son are dead, and all the characters in Kotor 1&2 have been forgotten.
I really hate Swtor sometimes I wished it was not in the Expanded Universe and instead replaced entirely with Kotor 3. The biggest mistake they did was setting it 300 years after Kotor 2 that was their biggest mistake.
And I really liked the idea of the True Sith Remnant but the way they did it, was a big mistake one that should of been corrected.
1. Proven by the orginal trilogy Revan's story was meant to be forgotten overtime
2. All SWTOR is a time skip using the books to fill in the gaps
3. There couldn't be a kotor 3 without a timeskip as kotor2 confirmed Revan purposely left his friends behind so they wouldn't be used against him like they were in kotor 1 so kotor 3 would have no companions and would be a short game if it was just Revan, Meetra and Scrouge vs the emperor on one ship
4. They didn't ignore Revan's past they gave us explanations to what happened to all of The companions in kotor 1 besides the kotor 2 characters

More like excuses I do not tolerate lazy writing just for the benefits of a MMO.
If you want a time skip fine but don't make it 300 bloody years make it 5, 10, heck maybe even 20 years, Swtor wasted so much potential of the Kotor 2 side quests like the Mandalorians clans reuniting and allying with the Republic, HK-47's HK droids, and so much more. I would still keep the True Sith Empire Remnant idea around but I would make the central villains of Kotor 3.
And also I do not accept what Swtor did to Revan it ruined his character, it ruined his life, and it ruined his relationships.
That's why I do not for Swtor.
Plus it's not like it did really well it even wasted Kreia's teachings of the Force. And before you say "Not everyone can have a happy ending" so what?
Why can't Revan? Plenty of characters had already died sadly I believe there's room for one character to have a happy ending. Heck you can kill the Exile if you want too in Kotor 3. Swtor brings less good and more bad if you ask me.

If you didn't notice bioware's main characters tend to not have a happy end Commander Shepard dies in most ends while rest of galaxy live or collapses and re built, hawk could die multiple in different ways why would revan be any different see the ending you want is the return of the jedi type the hero saves the day gets a medal and alls well but if you didn't notice That's kotor 1 ending so that would just be a repeat instead of that we get the hero broken from what he has become but then truly understanding his purpose and passing on his torch to you the player to finish what he started

I like how people in the comment section are arguing over which sith is stronger when inn the end it didn't matter because their flawed ideology died with them.

Uhmm Geetsly not quite right though It was not only the lost Jedi whom rebuild and not all the old masters where killed.. IF you read the book Reven you find out that quite a few where still alive.. And its set just before Meetra went into the unknown regions to search for raven. She goes to Bastila on Coruscant whom even asks if they should got to the rebuild jedi council which Meetra refuses as there still are to much bad blood between her and the new council members.

Imagine how scared the Jedi that had to face Nihilus was. He was probably so scared he would get sucked of his life force. Dude must have had the world off his shoulders figuratively once he killed Nihilus. But that must have been scary though.

Darth Vader killed MORE Jedi than ANYONE else in history. Period. That’s not a debate it’s fact. Darth Sion cut down a lotta Jedi and Darth Nihilus drained them all but they still do not even come close to Vader’s Jedi kill count.
Yes. But let's look at this rationally here. We're not talking about who had the highest K/D. The purge isn't any one individual's kill count. Take Vader's kill count, sure, it's high. But now take Treya, Nihilus, Malak, Revan, Sion's kill counts. Factor in all the fallen Jedi. Factor in all the Jedi that those fallen jedi killed. Add *ALL* of that up. The purge isn't just what is perpetrated by one man. It is a widescale event. Was the entirety of the Holocaust just what happened in Auschwitz? No. That's just a singular portion of it that is noted for being particularly bad, but it doesn't encompass the entirety. And due to Treya being a sith, and the exile being cut off from the force, when Treya killed those last council members, for a brief time, the Jedi Order WAS extinct. Gone. Dead. Bye bye. Truly exterminated. So there. Take the Jedi from their height, with thousands. Larger than that of the Clone Wars. And then cut them down by the thousands due to multiple sith lords. And from that massive number, they truly become *extinct* for a brief period. No, it was a worse purge. Just because Vader killed more Jedi as an individual should not distract from the bigger picture. Vader was NOT the jedi purge, he was merely a part of it.

Ever notice that those things were true? The Jedi and Sith are both extremist groups in the fiction, and that's what keeps the conflict between them going. Mutual distrust, hatred, and the occasional genocide. Star Wars runs on dead younglings.

Nah, you can see near the end of Kotor 2 talking with Carth. At the beginning you need to choose that Revan was a male and light side in order this to happen
Order 66 and Knightfall still left 100s of survivors. The Sith Triumvirate’s Purge only left a total of FOUR Jedi alive by counting Bastila, Revan and Meetra Surik who all three didn’t associate with the Order anymore

SWTOR is fantastic. It's like 8 KotORs in one. I'm sad that it took me nearly 10 years to finally play it.
It's mixed bag, some campaigns have better writing, then others, optimization is not the best, but by all means, try it. Subscription is, like, 13 bucks, they give some free stuff to new subs, like mounts and premium companions. There is no paywall aside from subscription... the only thing you can buy for real money is cosmetics and armor sets that may look fancier, but don't give you any real advantage aside of you being a Darth (insert) clone. So I'd say download the client and welcome home!
According to Disney's movies, order 66 Jedi purge is permanent. Since there are no more Jedi left. Thank goodness I don't acknowledge Disney's fan fiction. Luke does rebuild the Jedi order.
Um, Luke does rebuild the order, as stated by Han Solo in TFA and the flash backs in TLJ. Except Snoke and Kylo Ren destroyed it probably 10 years before the sequels, meaning that it was the shortest lived jedi order, since the only known force users as of now after the empire, was just Luke, Ahsoka, Ben Solo, Ezra Bridger, and maybe Jacen Syndulla, with Leia training a little. But EU's New Jedi Order is way better

I know of another purge. One where a different chancellor of the republic decided to have the Jedi wiped out and was largely successful in doing so. That is, until the Jedi remaining stormed the senate building, taking the chancellor, and holding the Republic until they could be sure that it was well and truly over.

Ossus wasn't the jedi homeworld. It was where their order resided as a main HQ type thing with the great library, until the world was left devastated and they then moved to Coruscant. The original "homeworld" or start of the jedi order was a world called tython in the deep core

Hey Geetsly, you forgot about Bastilla Shan, she survived the events of KOTOR 2 and was a Jedi Master as well though it was hollow title and due to her own fall to the Darkside and redemption to the light by Revan, both She and Revan were banned from teaching Padawans by the Council. If you need to know the source material it's the Star Wars the Old Republic novel, Revan.
It’s funny seeing kotor2 summoned up like this with the many times I played it when it came out and years after. I always thought it would have been interesting to see what a number 3 would have been like or some content after the end of the game to see what happens

It all makes sense now padawans aren't forced into the Jedi order at a young age to not know attachments but so they don't have time to be inducted into the sith order as sleeper agents edit I also think this could explain the change from legends to canon about m5 the cleaning of the rift in the warp being sealed and the Jedi making it seem like only the sith could achieve this
