      I feel like the only person who had absolutely no trouble on Malachor V at this point. I mean, it's probably because I had a Wisdom of over 50 with Force Enlightenment active and wasn't afraid to spec into Force Storm as a Light Sider, which meant I could disable and kill entire rooms full of enemies in a few rounds. Even made Nihilus and Sion look like weaklings since they both failed to save against my Stasis Field. Traya was the only enemy in the game who could resist my Stasis. The only part I even had to use Force Heal in was the Atton vs Sion battle in TSLRCM.

      Yeah so much death that I'd what Kreia is saying it true, it was probably screeching like an animal from the sheer carnage. As if... wounded. As if the force is some kind of metaphysical entity. A sort of living animal in its own right. This does bring some disturbing implications, knowing "the force" is quite literally F***ing alive.
      This does bring some context to why the vong left their native galaxy. The scale of destruction they did killed the force there, so they had no choice but to migrate in order to survive. This means by the time in legends they are known. they were in a sense fighting like a cornered animal. They spent untold eons in the void, and the vong were gambling on this invasion just to survive as a species. It seemed it was all or nothing for them
      And when they failed... they did not have a home to call their own, and they largely died out. We do not hear much of them after this point in legends.

    You mentioned the fact that Revan's fleet was delayed by Mandalorian scout ships, however this may have actually been a lie set by Revan himself. As you said Revan wanted to destroy any not loyal to him, however he couldn't outwardly do this, so in order to accomplish both goals of extermination and conversion, he purposely delayed his fleet manned by only those loyal to him. With the events that took place in the battle, this had the desired effect of having Meetra Surik perhaps his biggest obstacle, fire the mass shadow generator. Not only did this have the desired effect of killing most that would stand in his way, but it made Surik powerless as she had to cut herself off from the force to survive. Now most will argue this is a simple theory however it does have some ground especially with the interactions between the player, Bao-Dur, and most importantly Canderous.

    The lore of Malachor, and ancient Sith in general, has always fascinated me. How a Force Wound and a Dark Side Nexus combine to create a nightmare world. Makes me wonder what would happen if the Yuuzhan Vong came across such a world? Or even across Sith Spawn, the product of sith alchemy? This only makes me think of a crossover between Star Wars Legends and Warhammer 40k. Mainly, Our "protagonist" leads a force of sith across the ages, and in an attempt to weaken the 40k galaxy, seek Darkside nexus and cause battles near them, then use mass shadow generators. How bad would the 40k galaxy be messed up? Probably just another day.

    KotoR 1 was a great game, following the formular of a powerful Sith Lord with a Super station which you have to destroy to win in the end. But beyond that great
    KotoR 2 though.... it used the mythology of the Force overall to create a nightmare, almost otherworldly horror which was Malachor V. And the more you think about it, it truely shows what terror evil and war can bring in the Star Wars galaxy (and in our world, but that is besides the point)
    When I first played the game, I didn'T get it, I was like 11? I did not understand a lot of the detail and threads going on, but now I see it and it makes this game such a great story, it own story in the Star Wars univers, but still a faithful sequel to great game that was KotoR and surpassed it.
    And to what other planet I might want to see here? Well Ziost is so often mentioned as the capital of the first Sith Empire, but I barely know about it, so that would be my suggestion: Ziost
    and also thank you for your awesome videos Geetsly's

    • @hendrikgreiner8449
      @hendrikgreiner8449 2 года назад +5

      I totally agree with you here. I never considered it before but that nightmare angle is absolutely believable, if you look also at the game. At Peragus, you have quite the ghost situation until you know that Darth Sion and the assassins are after you, its like fleeing from a horror movie and even though you can fight, you are quite lowlevel and not very powerful. And whenever you meet the Sith again, that feeling returns, that you feel quite powerless and that something far, far greater is lurking in the shadows. That you get constantly attacked from nowhere like with Visas Maar, Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus only reinforces that feeling.

Another possibility is that they are two different planets in the same system, but the idea of having two planets in the same system, that have basically identical reputations and taboos from the Jedi, is far less likely.
      As far as what is implied in Disney Canon, I'm not sure if there is any real tangible evidence this same battle ever occurred. I'd wager that Disney writers did what they have been doing since taking over: Largely, stealing excellent or fan favorite ideas from the Expanded Universe, and writing them back in, usually in a much less well done fashion.

    I have an interesting topic to think and discuss here. Why the Republic is unwilling to commit genocide against the Mandalorians, the Zyggerians and the Hutts? The Mandalorians are nothing but bloodthisrty warmongers, the Zyggerians are nothing but slavers while the Hutts are... well... everything bad, I guess? But the point is these guys gave nothing but troubles to the Republic and even if the Jedi did not get involve on behalf of the Republic, the Republic can simply launch the genocidal campaigns against them anyway without the approvals of the Jedi anyway. After all, the Jedi served the Republic, not the other way around. As for the public's concerns, simply issuing the propagandas to justify these acts with the supporting evidences that the Mandalorians are nothing but a horde of uncivilized and bloodthirsty savages while the Zyggerians are nothing but the brutal and oppressive slavers. And guess what, these claims are very true. And finally, the Republic never actually cared about some old constitutions it made in the first place a few hundreds years ago. So I guess there is no stopping the Republic. But yet, they do nothing about them like at all! Just why?! WHY?!

    • @lifeliberty9235
      @lifeliberty9235 2 года назад

      While I can see what you're saying here, I would point out that you're wrong about the Mandalorians. You have to think about them like you would have the Spartans of ancient Greece. Theirs was a culture or battle, of war, of conflict, one which would take a warrior and sharpen or shatter them, and in either that victory or death in battle, they found honor. For them, all of life is conflict, and you are either strong enough to come out on top, or you're crushed underfoot by those who are stronger than you.
      Keep in mind, I'm not saying that they didn't do monstrous things or commit terrible acts, because they absolutely did, but I'm trying to point out that they didn't just do what they did for the sake of killing and terrorizing. They were more complicated than that.

      @@lifeliberty9235 My problem with the Mandalorians is that they do not promote equality. And I greatly despised that! And I cannot believe that the Republic was actually gave more chances to the Mandalorians until Duchess Satine rose to power. And That took a long time! The fact that the Senate was this patient with them is just... almost to completely unreal!

    • @lifeliberty9235
      @lifeliberty9235 2 года назад

      @@lerneanlion I mean, you're free to feel however you want about all of this. They didn't promote equality because it goes against their nature and their societal setup, and more importantly, because they recognize not everyone is equal in all ways. The strong prevail, the weak are crushed underfoot, simple as that. They believe in making themselves stronger through struggle, and that sort of belief doesn't allow for equality. Nobody grows without facing adversity, and someone else solving your problems for you doesn't teach you anything. That's their philosophy.

    • @lerneanlion
      @lerneanlion 2 года назад

      @@lifeliberty9235 I know that. It's just that why the Republic allowed this? I think the Republic has taken the "being tolerance to intolerance" policy too far. If the Republic was willing to help the Jedi commit genocide against the Sith like the one at Korriban, what's stopping the Republic from doing the same with the Hutts, the Mandalorians and the Zyggerians? The Jedi? I doubt it. They served the senate and the Republic after all.

    • @machinegear7221

      Starting a war, let alone a genocidal war, is against Republic "ideals", plus its bureucratic, cant start a war without some REAL good reason to do so(mainly invasion).
      Plus Republic is weak and dealing with something like Hutts might be plain suicidal and even if they win, the cost would be too much.
      And finally Republic dont care about freedom and justice in reality, add on top of that the fact that they are weak and bureucratic(maybe even take bribes from Hutts) then why would they wanna fight Hutts or Mandalorians? Its too much pain in the ass, as long as their threat to their existence, they wouldnt move a finger.

    Why wasn't the Malachor episodes creepier in Rebels, if Malachor is such a cursed and haunted place? Wouldn't Ahsoka and Kanan have gone mad or at least felt physically ill being near such a horrible place? What about Ezra, who's new to the Force? Wouldn't Maul and Vader be twice as powerful since they draw on the Dark Side and Malachor is dripping with such evilness?
    Those episodes all see lackluster now. It wasn't scary. It was vaguely creepy and rather funny with how aggressive Maul was in trying to adopt Ezra.

    • @lifeliberty9235
      @lifeliberty9235 2 года назад +2

      I'm not 100% sure if they ever really specified. It could simply be that they are planets in the same system (Malachor behind the 1st planet, and V being the 5th, of course), but with the way they talk about Malachor in Rebels, I want to say that they rewrote Malachor V into the version shown in the show.
      If you're talking about, say, physical differences, there is a LOT, and you would be better off looking up some KOTOR 2 game play or visuals of Malachor V to get a better idea. It was a MUCH darker place in its original form.

    There's a plot hole that needs to be addressed. I thought darth Sion fought along side Exar kun in the great sith war and yet here he is, spawned by the horrors of mandalorian wars of Malachor V. Why would sion fight the mandalorians along side jedi when he have been killing them in Exar Kun's behalf? How does sion's war with the jedi centuries ago before the mandalorian wars tie in? It doesn't make any sense.

    • @paulliston8561

      Sion was a Jedi (then later a dark Jedi) under Revan's Command. He suffered terrible wounds during the Mandalorian Wars and his body was broken with only the darkside keeping him alive. After Revan's fall/redemption and Malak's defeat, he made a power-play to become one of the Sith Triumvirate, as far as my memory serves.
