Im Mexican, and I can tell you something about tacos. They can be made out of whatever you want, yes: any kind of meat, any kind of condiment or sauce including MAYO, any kind of vegetables, beans, cheese, guacamole, fish, shrimp, and so on... any combination of, literally, anything you want. I dont understand the people saying "thats wrong", "you shouldnt use mayo", "it should be done this or that way", etc. If you take a soft hot tortilla, put something edible inside, roll the tortilla and eat that, then thats a TACO. Although I should throw something out here... in México, if you use a soft hot maíz tortilla, thats a TACO. If you use a stiff toasted tortilla, thats a TOSTADA. But I understand and respect that in the USA some people use bended toasted tortillas and call them tacos. Its their version.

Ramsay is a health nut, he'd probably have to plan his day around eating something like this, which Ramsay is probably much too busy to do these except for a few times a year - not ideal for a youtube channel.
He doesn't need to taste finished dish if he tasted parts of it mid work (to adjust flavour). In a restaurant where dozens of plates are going in and out every hour he needs to keep good quality without tasting every serving. So full answer is that he doesn't need to taste his own dishes because he knows how they taste like.
Beautiful Oddity In Mexico's "Taquerias" they serve tacos with 2 tortillas so then the tacos don't brake from the weight and the grease of the meat, however Ramsay's taco doesn't really need double tortilla 'cause it's toasted.
Three teaspoons of cereal, to 2,5 teaspoons of milk Get it a nice brown sear Gives it a nutty buttery finish Into the oven for 8-10 minutes That residue on the bottom, its gonna be the sauce so, bring it up to a boil, reduce it, cereal, a grating of orange zest, then our sauce, cereal and special orange sauce, done.
"medium fine cornmeal - ungreased metal skillet over gas heat - distribute evenly over the pan. Water - slightly - just enough to soak the cornmeal but not drown it - let the water do the work - sugar - not too much - just a dusting over the top - cook until water evaporates - metal spatula - scrape the bottom until the flakes surface - flip them and cook till dry. Meanwhile, bowl - ceramic - large enough to contain the flakes when covered in milk - whole milk - strawberries - remove tops and split evenly down the middle and cross cut- careful - remove flakes from pan and let them rest - place in the bowl - slowly immerse in the milk and place strawberry slices on top - spoon - don't use a small one - trust me on this". Thanks Chef Ramsay, these cornflakes are amazing!
For those of us without a gas range, you can still give the tortillas their shape if you drape them over the racks in the oven and let the edges hang down. Leave them in there on low heat for a few minutes, and check on them periodically so they don't completely dry out, but they'll be crispy and hold that U shape to load them up with toppings. Corn flour tortillas work best, but regular old white or whole wheat ones work just as well.

+DannyBskating ;-; Lol seriously? Oil is fat. Non-negotiable. Also steaks, unless it's grade A5 Kobe, should have some fat in the pan because unlike bacon, the fat doesn't render out enough to cook the surface. Basting steaks with olive oil and steak juices incorporates more flavour and helps prevent drying.
Anyone ever noticed that the marinade is already there when he seasons the steaks, but you can her the sizzling of the steaks in the pan when he makes the marinade? His cooking is so good he is breaking the continuum :O
well it isnt a true authentic mexican taco either. He was going for a fusion type..Im not mexican, but I live in Austin which is the taco capital of the US thanks to all the mexicans which im ever grateful for because honestly i hhave a rule here..with the exception of torchys,I wont eat a taco if it isnt made by a mexican person.
Jason Frias I'm an American and a pilot and I've been flying to Mexico the whole month. Monterrey, Torreon, Aguascalientes, and (my favorite) Queretaro. I love traditional Mexican tacos, they are lit especially with the litany of sauces they roll out. But this is good shit too.
I love how after watching so many of his videos, I'm now able to see him do certain things like nicking the sides of a cut of meat or adding in certain ingredients and immediately understand why he's doing that before he even has a chance to explain it. It makes me feel a little more knowledgeable and confident.
lol so many amateurs saying that beef is raw and tortia is burnt... if you dont know how it should be , then just dont comment and listen to an experienced chef , e.g Gordon Ramsay
with my biggest respect for mr. Ramsay and his work, and knowing that this is a very delicious dish but it has nothing to do with the real mexican taco and not only because of wassabi stuff.
This is no where near a Mexican taco lol. I don't think it deserves the name taco just because it has corn tortilla. I'm sure what he made is delicious, but it's not a taco
Season it generously. Let the bread sit out over night. Gives it this sort of, aged, but not too old taste. Oven on. About 450 for a nice crisp. Its important that you butter the baking sheet. Let it cook, into the bread, as it hardens"
Mis compatriotas mexicanos, por favor, lean la puta descripción del vídeo antes de comentar; claramente indica que no es un taco como tal, sino una combinación entre platos gastronómicos de dos países completamente distintos. Ya, no mamen, dejen de quejarse.
bacarra kris you are correct there. The people that are complaining here are from the motherland and don't like to try new and different styles. Para los que estan chingando, sus madres son pendejas para tenerlos a ustedes que no prueban diferente estilos de comida.
Although I do agree that what Gordon Ramsay had made in this video isn't authentic tacos you have to remember everything that we eat now has evolved from something and/or is a different version of something that previously existed. I mean how do you think you have the Mexican food that you have now?
I don't need my tacos to be authentic so these look good too... But a perfect taco is a warm soft tortilla made by hand, filled with chorizo and chopped onion and cilantro topped with a lot spicy sauce and some lime juice....
Gordon taking a shower: Water. On. Fabulous. Just a touch, of shampoo. Body wash. Just a few drops. On. Rinse off. Beautiful. Pat dry. Wait till you see just how smooth this is. Amazing.
Dudes I'm Mexican and I feel very happy to see this video and even more exiting watching Gordon making tacos but here in Mexico there's no place that does that kind of shape or puts green stuff on the taco (except for the coriander, onion and the spicy sauce), well probably if you go to the coast and you ask for seafood tacos maybe they will include other kind of stuff however the normal ones are not like that, but I have to say they look great.
Open your mind, your mouth and your stomach to all the taco options you have around you my friend! Look at all the taco fillings you can get across México and the "hard shell" tacos we actually have. Anyways, I agree with you! I would love to stuff my face with these tacos right now...
X Blake Freeman X Gordon isn't using cube steaks. He's using expensive cuts of meat in every video I click where I'm expecting it to be ground beef. I mean, that's cool; poor young people probably aren't his target audience.
Jesus Christ relax. It’s obvious he’s rich and can afford this but you can splurge once or twice and make this. I’m not rich by any means and I’ve bought some of his ingredients just to try it out. It’s a fancy twist on a cheap street food and I appreciate how complex he can make it.
I bought all the ingredients for this for $25...either you don't know how to shop or you blew all your money on internet connection to write your stupid comment.
Kyle Erman not really. The pack of tortillas lasts for more than one meal, pretty sure he also got more veggies than used so he’s got extras for other meals now. Only thing really 1time use is the meat. About the same as any steak meal at a restaurant
This isn't his attempt to make an authentic Mexican taco...it's his take on one of Mexico's greatest cultural creations. That's why he emphasized the use of ingredients from all over the world, notice he didn't even use tomatoes which is a staple in Mexican and greater Hispanic cuisine. Personally I like more traditional foods with local ingredients but I appreciate his global take on a Mexican taco.
I’m a black guy from LA and I’ve seen a lot wrong with this video. Burnt ass tortillas. Wasabi paste. White Wine vinegar. Go to a Vallarta instead. Stop shopping at Whole Foods and go to a Carniceria.
@@jonathanmurphy3073 Those tortillas aren't burnt at all, next thing you're gonna tell me neopolitan pizza is burnt because it has black bits around the edges
Omg!! Me too! The recipe at the vlive show wasn’t clear so I came here to check it out myself! D.O. truly is a talented chef! (Too bad it turned into a burrito cuz Xiumin bought huge size tortillas. 😂😂😭😭)
From the title, to the description, to the ingredients he used, if you survived this whole video without figuring out that this is an experimental asian-fusion Taco and not an authentic street taco, and then bitching about the fact... You're what's wrong with the world.
Chema Brinval you should actually try the tacos. I made them and they're really good. It's a different flavor. That's what makes it so good is it being non traditional. Fusion foods are a big thing right now
David Lee It depends entirely on how you want your food. Whenever I roast marshmallows, I stick them right into the fire and let the outside burn while the inside gets all gooey, however, most of my friends like to brown their marshmallows. To each his own.

I never make Gordon's recipes but I take a lot of the ideas on board and create my own food. Same goes for ANYONE I see making tasty food. I take their ideas and run with them, that's what cooking is about, not following recipes to the letter!
Exactly I would love to follow this recipe most street tacos are garbage quality anyways.
@aaronmendieta1578 imma buy you some buttcream for you 🗣️
I just want someone who looks at me the way chef Ramsay looks at a sirloin steak.
Maybe is you tasted juicy and silky at med rare temp sired both sides for 2 minutes and based with rosemary butter and garlic let rest for twice the time you cooked it then cut into medium strips not.to small cause steak will get cold and cut againist the grain
I feel the same way but about Beef Wellingtons.
The best part about Gordon's video is the comment section
I agree!
Yeah it's really funny seeing the exact same three jokes over and over again
If you refer to the toxic, ignorant and cringe comments.... Then yes... I agree.
"Quemastes las tortillas pendejo."
-My mom
But your mom ain't Gordon Ramsay tho lol
What's Really Good ? My mom cooks better than Gordon Ramsey shit what you talking about lol
+Bruce Lee prolly not but like I didn't expect her to, feel me
Ah that's why your mom has more than 14 Michelin Stars like Gordon
+Steve Tran fucking right? Lol
Why do I always watch these when I'm hungry
Krono I watch them when I'm hungover and food is disgusting lmao
When Gordon puts a litre of oil- Juicy
When others put a litre of oil- Greasy
@BlackDeathViral03 it's a meme you dip

Nah man, the problem here is that you don’t say “beautiful” every step

You don't cook fat with fat- Gordon Ramsay
Proceeds to put half the bottle olive oil in pan with a steak that is half fat
+Blake Han watch his sliders video. he drowns bacon in oil
Oil is not fat
+DannyBskating ;-; are you joking? oil is 100% fat, i.e. the macronutrient fat. what else could oil be as per your definition?
+DannyBskating ;-; Lol seriously? Oil is fat. Non-negotiable.
Also steaks, unless it's grade A5 Kobe, should have some fat in the pan because unlike bacon, the fat doesn't render out enough to cook the surface. Basting steaks with olive oil and steak juices incorporates more flavour and helps prevent drying.
+tricepratops its not the same
Legend has it he's still pouring that damn olive oil to this very day.
I started making this years ago and its still one of my favourite things ever , mind blowing how good it is.
Get the pan nice and hot
Touch of olive oil
Salt
Pepper
In the pan
i love your videos! easy to understand and amazing results

"Small drop of toasted sesame seed oil" ... Pours several drops

James Heesom why do you have to reply so aggressively

What? I cannot understand why are you discussing RuneScape here at Gordon's channel xD Geez, i play RS too, but WHY?
Saladin
They added the Tacocrafting skilltree
why are you discussing a shitty game on a youtube channel nowhere near related to it...;)
Anyone ever noticed that the marinade is already there when he seasons the steaks, but you can her the sizzling of the steaks in the pan when he makes the marinade?
His cooking is so good he is breaking the continuum :O
As a mexican this isn't traditional tacos, but shit they look good af. I also enjoy traditional tacos but i would love to try this out!
Jason Frias you are a verdadero Mexicano. True Mexicans have excellent taste palates. They love good food of all types.
Damien Eftekhar simon guey. me gusta lo comida de los abulitas. I'm not a good typer in Spanish
well it isnt a true authentic mexican taco either.
Haha same I was gonna say the same thing man haha it ain’t traditional but you know his way looks really good too wouldn’t mind trying them out
Anyone else see the miso/wasabi marinade already made right at the beginning of the video?
oh god i cant un-see that now :/
Where is it?

right at the beginning of the video, you can the yellow marinade in the tray already made

just the miso marinade, no wasabi
I love how after watching so many of his videos, I'm now able to see him do certain things like nicking the sides of a cut of meat or adding in certain ingredients and immediately understand why he's doing that before he even has a chance to explain it. It makes me feel a little more knowledgeable and confident.
This comment made me happy.

Why are there many Mexicans getting offended by the taco? I didn't see a "ORIGINAL AND TRADITIONAL MEXICAN TACO" on the title. :I
Lmao
put ice cream on that
why?
to give it abit of heat.
lol so many amateurs saying that beef is raw and tortia is burnt... if you dont know how it should be , then just dont comment and listen to an experienced chef , e.g Gordon Ramsay
L0LSashaL0L only amateurs spell tortilla tortia.
Burgahs ouch
L0LSashaL0L TOR FUCKING TIA. SO HILLARIOUS THE UNCOOKED MEAT LAUGHS
with my biggest respect for mr. Ramsay and his work, and knowing that this is a very delicious dish but it has nothing to do with the real mexican taco and not only because of wassabi stuff.
This
@@Panchitoisdead714 that
This is definitely not traditional at all but as usual it’s his own take on the dish, he’s not someone who just recreates dishes
I don’t think he ever mentioned that he was making authentic Mexican tacos. It’s a Mexican inspired recipe with his own twist.
To all my mexicans out there these are english tacos ( U.K. tacos) the tacos we make are mexican tacos.
This is no where near a Mexican taco lol. I don't think it deserves the name taco just because it has corn tortilla. I'm sure what he made is delicious, but it's not a taco
+brandon jacobo EXACTLY! "Taco" with mayonnaise? Dónde está la Salsa? 😳
+Daniela Leal Dónde está la Guacamole?

Uufff unos de suadero mi carnal
Sus tortillas bien tiezas jajaja
A lot of experts in the comments
as usual.
You think gordon commentates his own cooking when off camera just chillin by himself whipping up a snack
Any native Mexican watching this video is probably chuckling when Ramsay says, "... and that, is how I make the perfect taco".
Gordie could honestly find a way to create a 45 minute tutorial on making toast
And a separate video for the bread from scratch.
you have to 16 Michelin stars to cook toast
"Bread. In the toaster. Now get your salt, pepper, and a touch of olive oil. Incredible. "
Season it generously. Let the bread sit out over night. Gives it this sort of, aged, but not too old taste. Oven on. About 450 for a nice crisp. Its important that you butter the baking sheet. Let it cook, into the bread, as it hardens"
All he have to do is make the bread and butter from scratch and if that's not enough he can make his own toaster. Boom!!!
The meat is fucking rawwww!!!
I was quoting him from hell's kitchen
It's still fucking mooing that piece of beef!!!
The tacos are fucking burntttt!!
THE BEEF IS SO RAWWWW, IT'S EATING THE FUCKING SALAD!
"The great thing about tacos is, people can fill them themselves. Just the way they want them."
*there's three ingredients how else can you fill them*
you can make your tacos whatever you want, just wrap food on tortilla, literally
Mis compatriotas mexicanos, por favor, lean la puta descripción del vídeo antes de comentar; claramente indica que no es un taco como tal, sino una combinación entre platos gastronómicos de dos países completamente distintos. Ya, no mamen, dejen de quejarse.
callese mbe
cual we?
LOL I'm just going to assume you're criticizing him for not making accurate tacos
bacarra kris you are correct there.
But a perfect taco is a warm soft tortilla made by hand, filled with chorizo and chopped onion and cilantro topped with a lot spicy sauce and some lime juice....
the ones that look like shit?
Kunal Sajnani Stfu they are better than any American food bet u that. That's y i see white people in mexican restaurants

Gordon: "Today were gonna make some delicious tacos."
"Beautiful, look at these beauties"
I imagine Gordon Ramsey narrating his life the same way he does cooking.
Door, open. Close, behind you. Incredible.
Gordon taking a shower:
Water. On.
The only green I see is Cilantro or green salsa
Open your mind, your mouth and your stomach to all the taco options you have around you my friend! Look at all the taco fillings you can get across México and the "hard shell" tacos we actually have. Anyways, I agree with you! I would love to stuff my face with these tacos right now...
@@mangekyou10sharingan your opinion, ITS RAW
I was thinking the same, no way would they look like mexican tacos, but still look good, I would still eat it
To be fair, the video isn’t title authentic Mexican tacos.
it must be nice to have money like that... you know youve made it when you make tacos out of steaks...
Jordan Kratochvil ever heard of Krogers?
Tac-oh

I don't know why I thought he'd make his own tortillas.
two tablespoons of miso paste, it has rich natural sweetness. one second later, dumps three tablespoons of pure sugar lol

Az kikr no i'm not just saying the facts
jk just a troll tried to trigger the guy but he never responded. Its gone now
Mo Sj black people
On behalf of all mexican people I say "nah chef, this ain't it"
This isn't his attempt to make an authentic Mexican taco...it's his take on one of Mexico's greatest cultural creations. That's why he emphasized the use of ingredients from all over the world, notice he didn't even use tomatoes which is a staple in Mexican and greater Hispanic cuisine. Personally I like more traditional foods with local ingredients but I appreciate his global take on a Mexican taco.
Only a man from the UK would put mayonnaise on a taco and then proceed to call it a tack-o.
El dijo que era una mezcla de los sabores mexicanos y japoneses.
I’m a black guy from LA and I’ve seen a lot wrong with this video. Burnt ass tortillas. Wasabi paste. White Wine vinegar. Go to a Vallarta instead. Stop shopping at Whole Foods and go to a Carniceria.

From the title, to the description, to the ingredients he used, if you survived this whole video without figuring out that this is an experimental asian-fusion Taco and not an authentic street taco, and then bitching about the fact...
You're what's wrong with the world.
I'm mexican and I'm licking my laptop's screen.
That's probably one tasty laptop screen
Chema Brinval you should actually try the tacos. I made them and they're really good. It's a different flavor. That's what makes it so good is it being non traditional. Fusion foods are a big thing right now
Im also a hardcore taco eating mexican from mexico city and I would really like to try this version. It has Gordon's personal touch
But these arent even real tacos
spoopy red colors its fusion ITS THR POINT

I think he burnt the crap out of those Tacos.
yeah lol i was thinking that too
he should use those tongs and sweep the tacos over fire, and not leave them on the fire. Epic failure....
David Lee
It depends entirely on how you want your food. Whenever I roast marshmallows, I stick them right into the fire and let the outside burn while the inside gets all gooey, however, most of my friends like to brown their marshmallows. To each his own.
uh yah thats what he was aiming for so they can fold much easier

That makes no sense.
