      Hi Al, I hope you are doing well. Thought I would be apprehensive about the bridge. However, it had such a wide shoulder there was no problem at all. Thanks again and have a great weekend, Steve

    Riding in the rain is not so bad as long as you have a nice shoulder to keep a little distance between you and traffic.

      Hi Tony, I would rather have a little cool rain than hot, sticky and humid. Have a great weekend and stay safe, Steve

    THOSE shoulders much safer than the non-existent shoulders on your adventure in the Deep South. Steve yer a crazy man- go dog go!

      Hey Don, the roads were much safer in Maine, although very hilly. Hope you are doing fine! Have a great weekend, Steve

    • @steveretiredandcycling
      @steveretiredandcycling  2 года назад +1

      Hey Sergio, I hope all is well with you in Argentina! The rain was fine since the roads were safe in the state of Maine. Have a great weekend and as always, thanks for watching, Steve

    Great to see you back on the road. I'm curious to know which part of the greenway you liked best and least. I am planning a trip. Need to decide where to ride.

    • @steveretiredandcycling

      Hi again William. When I set out to ride the entire East Coast, I did a lot of research and found that organizations like the East Coast Greenway and Adventure Cycling are trying to sell their product by putting a positive spin on using their routes. Real world experience showed me that both routes can be enjoyable and both routes can be extremely dangerous. My least favorite part of the trip was the East Coast Greenway through GA and SC (RT 17). However if you want to cycle the entire East Coast these roads are unavoidable. My favorite part of the journey was all of Florida, DC and Virginia. Nothing wrong with doing the trip in segments and avoid dangerous sections. At least the East Coast Greenway map on their website identifies off road sections. Take care and enjoy the ride! Steve

    Steve, I have asked this before, but cannot find the answer: What tires are you running?

    • @steveretiredandcycling
      @steveretiredandcycling  2 года назад

      Hi David, I'm running Donnelly MSO X'Plor 40 mm tires at about 40 PSI. Supple are durable. Thanks again and all the best, Steve

    Steve, are you only taking the ECG route to CT or mixing in some of the AC route as in your previous trip? Wishing you clear sky and tailwinds!

    • @steveretiredandcycling
      @steveretiredandcycling  2 года назад

      Hi Dan, I took a combination of the ECG, Adventure Cycling and Google Maps. For the Maine / NH portion the ECG portion was the best. By combining the routes I was trying to avoid traffic as much as possible. Thanks again and have a great weekend, Steve

    Hi from Australia Steve! 👋🏼 I'm so glad I dropped by to catch up on your adventures! We've been off our bikes for too long. I can't wait until next month when we're back on the road. I like the way you're creating your footage, especially the maps and your dramatic "it's going to rain". 😆 We all know that ominous feeling on a ride. Good on you for pushing through it. The hotel rooms you found seem pretty good. Nice one. Happy riding. ☺️🚴‍♀️🏞️
