Hi Sarah, I rarely comment on these kind of videos but since I read a few complaints about the unedited, longer videos you‘ve been doing more of recently I just wanted to say that I love and appreciate these kinds of videos. I love your personality, everything you talk about and eat is interesting to me and I hope you will keep going like this :)
i get that with depression, for me it is the same - it's like ocean waves, sometimes it's calm, sometimes it's storming without a real thing triggering it - it's just life i suppose, i think after a while i have come to accept the waves rather than fighting them
You can make tofu out of that soy bean pulp. Form it into a square shape and press it! It is so easy and so tasty! ♥️ Also the skin that forms on top of the soymilk is called Yuba! You can make noodles out of it, or use it as wraps etc!
Sarah! The more I watch your videos the more I relate to you so much. Both in terms of the kitcheny stuff (yay!) and mood stuff (less yay). Check out my original soy milk tutorial; looks very similar to what you did here. I like the less-beany soy milk without soaking too. The taste is certainly less beany. But I have weak hands and it's really difficult for me to strain that version. With your climbing strength, you probably won't have that problem :-) I'm looking forward to your review of The Homemade Vegan Pantry :-) I wanted to try so much more for my cookbook review from last year...but so many cookbooks, too little time! It would be amazing if you reviewed the see-food chowder. The photo looks incredible. Also, the umbrian tartufo sauce. *drool*
I have a love-hate relationship with soy milk, cuz I love it, but I hate the process to make it, but your recipe is really great, and it's the one that I've been using.
I can really relate with the depression 'ride'. I'm on that rollercoaster too, however I fight it. Certain things help me, even supplements like extra vit b12, D and 5-HTP. Being depressed - and a slight perfectionist is too much of a nightmare, because I dont have the motivation or energy to accomplish things, but not doing them is making me feel even worse!
Kx I find that it does, just make sure it's not in gelatin capsules. I'm not a doctor, so I don't want to advertise it. Talk to your doctor first, and you can find great articles online. It does pick me up, gives me more energy, it helps you release the happy hormones basically.
Sarah why do you make homemade food look so damn easy lol. I really feel you on the highs and lows, the lows always come at such an inconvenient time and I've learned to just lean in and let the lows be low and try to focus on things that make me feel good instead of feeling guilty then trying to force extra energy trying to do things that would be difficult even on a "normal" day.
Thanks for being so REAL ... you still need to realize you inspire a lot of people, even when you think you are being lazy or procrastinating... take care. Love your channel Sarah!
This was such a fun video wake up to! You’re really convincing me to get an air fryer, looks like such a time saver. Way to face the depression by having such a healthy lifestyle! I think being driven by productivity even in the low times isn’t a bad thing. Praying for you dude! Keep rocking it.
I hear the depression roller coaster. I started taking 5-htp a few weeks ago and hope that helps balance things out. I also get into cleaning binges when low... not sure why but glad to hear I'm not alone in that.
I am LOVING this style of video from you! I love the vlog/ what i eat in a day. Your thumbnail pics are getting soo good! Keep it up with the Food photography learning!
Thank you for opening up and talking about your emotions it is very refreshing and real! You inspire me to have my own channel! I always have a reason I tell myself why I'm not enough of a people person to talk to a camera but you talking about your anxieties and emotions pushes me ! Thanks again
hey I’m grown up in a family drink soy milk daily. How we do now we soak the bean whole night just for better blend, and we have these soy milk machine, it blends the bean and boil it in the same time, if you drink soy milk daily, better get one supper easy to use :) with same soy milk you made with machine you also can make tofu ;) the brand my family use is “joyoung”
Hi Sarah, I have been doing soymilk for years, and I started with the measurement of the soyabella, then upgrade from it. meaning that I've used more beans for the same amount of hot water, or faulcet water, hot meaning that it will boil faster, and not so hot as to squeeze the towel. Anyway, I just use the ladder soup spoon from the stove top or what's used for scooping soup with holes so that the soaked beans get caught and the soaking liquid gets drained away, 3 heapping spoon of it, and that's all, not yet, with 4 cups of hot water from the faucet, which is a measurement glass cup. and then squeeze it through a towel, not a bath towel, but a napkin type of towel. I repeat until all soaked soybeans are used. pour into the pot in between. forgot, the beans are soaked for 6 hours or until plump. which is about 6 hours minimum. the cooked liquid is raised to 170 or 180 degree i can't remember, but i think it's at 180 degree farhenhei. hope this help. that's all i know.
I use homemade unstrained hemp milk in my coffee (I'm too lazy to strain it!). It's got tons of nutrients and is crazy creamy, but it does taste kind of green, so I'd recommend adding sweetener if it bothers you. I just throw one part hemp seeds and two parts water into a nutribullet :)
I do the exact same thing when my anxiety/depression gets really bad! Little things that don't normally bother me like clutter and messes drive me up the wall and I feel like if I clean that it'll make me less anxious?? Anyways I love your videos so much you're so chill and real and I appreciate your content and the work you put into it! your recipes and your attitude inspires me!
You are so awesome. I feel like you are a great role model and I love your honesty. Usually, I dislike vlogs. But you keep it real and we are so alike. Watching you is easy and comforting. This vid was a nice way to start my day. Thank you, Sarah
I won the Hotforfood cookbook! Thank you so much for hosting the giveaway! It's exam week and I don't have a ton of food so I haven't tried any recipes yet but I will when I go home for the summer. I like the ranch hummus from Aldi, I found about it from the RUclips channel No Egg Craig.
Sarah, I have made soy milk before. You soak your soy beans overnight and when you have your milk all made, you simmer it on the stove. The longer you simmer it, the less it tastes like soy beans. I also add 1/4 tsp. of xanthum gum, plus you can add a tsp. Of vanilla and one or two dates for sweetness.
I just subscribed yesterday to your channel and I'm in love! I literally wish I could be your food taster bcus everythaaaang looks divine. Also I feel I found your channel for a reason my emotions for the past year have been fluctuating immensely and sometimes its nice to have the reminder that you are not alone... Thank you for the effort you put into ur work.
I love your videos so much ❤️ please don’t stop these vlog style videos I enjoy them and I’m sure many others do too! I quite enjoy the random food you put together lol
Snack platter!! Yes to decluttering, massive overhaul of my stuff this year and it felt amazing! I to have depression that comes and goes, kinda like the weather, some days are sunny, some days are rainy and most days are just greyish. 💕
Ugh I just finished my taxes 😑 Took me hours lol I definitely want you to make a “clam” chowder. I used to love it too and I haven’t attempted a vegan version yet.
If you hang the soymilk "skin" up and dry it, it becomes 腐皮 (tofu skin), which is an ingredient common in Chinese cuisines. Super delicious in spicy/sour broths, also delicious in sweet soups!
as always, loooooved your video! also, i can relate so much with the depression/decluttering phase. i am planning to sold almost each of my furniture pieces this year in the decluttering mode, cannot wait for the empty space :)
Ooh Sarah,,my grocery store had recently had the fish less filets on sale (my 1st time trying ),,and they are phenomenal! !,going back today to get more:) thanks for another helpful, exciting video, you are truly inspirational! ♡
Omg I also begin to declutter when I'm depressed in the search of a minimalistic room/ place - Have you done a declutter video yet? Otherwise I would love to see it :)
love your videos. They are always so inspiring and I love how much food you do at home - like the soy milk and stuff. I would never have the time for it and probably would even be too lazy if I had the time.
Totally random but my job stocked the Impossible Burger on our menu! Exciting! It's only available for restaurants to buy but you can bet that when they hit the shelves I will buy them up! Yay!
I do that too raid the humus right when i get ot lol!!! Sarah, this was a great vid are u going to put ur bread video on? Awesome as always love subscribing to you and NEVER regreted it!!! Thanks for all tje recipes!💗💗💗😀🌺🌸
By far one of my favorite videos!!! I can relate to literally everything, and about the "homemade vegan" cookbook you just pushed me into searching for everything I can do myself! This vid is a total life changer 😉
I meal prep every week, so I end up eating the same pre-cooked foods every day until Friday! Those air-fried falafels look to die for! I really want to invest in an air-fryer to see how they fair in comparison to other cooking devices. Also, I’m sorry that you’re feeling down. I hope everything works out-decluttering your space helps immensely! ❤️
I've enjoy the Gardien chick'n but haven't tried the fish sticks yet. Oh and the Falfel salad looks yummy too! On my wish list, an air fryer & an instant pot, for sure! Thanks for the recommendations, Sarah! ;)
Omg I love love love the homemade vegan pantry. I bought it for the butter recipe. Just made the moz and its amazing. The Italian sausages and burgers are just brill. Omg um please try the yoghurt recipe (mine failed) almond feta, flaky unfish (the yuba one, that's the skin you were talking about) or a cake with the French frosting. ♥ okara (the stuff left from milking the soy beans) in Japan we just make a salad. Its okara, mayo and diced veggies.
I would love you to try the fish sticks recipe! I have been watching your videos for a while but but never comment so thought i should say, thanks for making them, you are awesome!! Been veggie for years but recently moved towards a vegan lifestyle and loving it, been using lots of your recipes :)
I live in the springs but I love going to boulder in the summer it is so cute!! Also I went vegan in eight grade and I’m now in my second semester of freshmen year of highschool!! and JUST found your channel ok love it!! now I can watch all your videos! 🌞🌞
Making me crave falafels so bad 😭!! Your video really light up my day, thanks for everything you do! Those the air fryer really give crunchier results than an oven?
I've been recommending you make the tofu from Homemade Vegan Pantry for a while now. I think your fans would love it if you made butter. Also there's a video of Miyoko making the vegan butter somewhere on youtube. You can make your own cold brew from scratch. I love this whole DIY ethic you've adopted this year. It's fun and it uses less packaging.
I cook my soybeans until they are tender before blending them with water when I make soy milk. I know no one makes their soymilk like this, however, I find it has a mild flavour and is easiest to digest when made that way.
The skin would be good in like an "egg" drop or hot and sour soup, or any soup for that matter. If I recall correctly, Mary's Test Kitchen has a soy milk recipw video and she uses the pulp to make other things as well. I so relate to you and get distracted when I am trying to get any work done at home.
Hello, can I just say I really look forward to your videos! They have really improved recently and I love how many what I eat in a day videos you do as they are my favourite. I want to start running but I don’t know how to start. Any advice? Xx
Hey Sarah, my family and I love your videos! That soy skin or yuba is used by a vegan spot in Cali called Taqueria la Venganza to make “carnitas” style tacos, burritos and tamales. If anyone can figure out how to do it, it’s you. Would love to see a recipe video on that!
Try boiling the milk longer. The longer you boil it the less beany it is. Try reboiling about a cup and see. I used the Mary's Test Kitchen recipe. The large pot is a good call cuz, the millisecond you take your eyes off of it it boils over. That tzaziki!
nuts.com also sells a good falafel mix (p.s. unless anyone is adding something non traditional, falafel is typically both vegan and gluten free...and delicious.)
I love chowder...my fav one is in the 'Isa Does It' cookbook. Super curious if you like the Vegan pantry one cause I keep thinking about getting that book💚
Hi Sarah, I rarely comment on these kind of videos but since I read a few complaints about the unedited, longer videos you‘ve been doing more of recently I just wanted to say that I love and appreciate these kinds of videos. I'm a fan of both of your channels! You two need to do a collaboration video! How cool would that be?
I have a love-hate relationship with soy milk, cuz I love it, but I hate the process to make it, but your recipe is really great, and it's the one that I've been using.
Holy smokes I was just about to type the exact same thing. (First sentence).
I'm so in love with both of your channels. Can't wait for more updates!
I can have the WORST day of my life, but when Sarah uploads, I just feel so happy 😊
So, so happy to see you uploading so much. :D Watching your videos makes me feel so great. :)

That falafel bowl looks DIVINE! Definitely having falafels tomorrow.
I bought the OXO pour over coffee dripper because of you and I've been loving it! It's actually been a game-changer for me.
I love your what I eat in a day. So many new items I found out about and new recipes!

That falafel salad looked amaze-balls!!!
I made falafel bowls so much!!!! It's my fav go to..Crunchy, fresh, spicy, and hearty!
Taxes are the worst haha. Oh well, glad they're over with now! :) And I definitely want to try the chowder recipe.
I filed taxes with Turbotax. It's very easy to do and has quick return (2-3 weeks max). Give it a try next year!
If you hang the soymilk "skin" up and dry it, it becomes 腐皮 (tofu skin), which is an ingredient common in Chinese cuisines. Super delicious in spicy/sour broths, also delicious in sweet soups!

Im not even vegan, but everything you makes looks soo good and im slowly switching over! love your videos!!
Omg, cold brew in a nut milk bag is genius! Going to have to try this
you’re probably the only vegan i know that actually season your food like generously season your food so it not only healthy but also tastes good
Omg I also begin to declutter when I'm depressed in the search of a minimalistic room/ place - Have you done a declutter video yet? Otherwise I would love to see it :)
love your videos. They are always so inspiring and I love how much food you do at home - like the soy milk and stuff. I would never have the time for it and probably would even be too lazy if I had the time.
I lov that u are making ur own products. Ur vids always inspire me. 😊
It was worth watching already, I'll make that Cilantro-Jalapeno-Hummus. Thanks for the inspiration. And some hugs to cheer you up.
I'd love to see the butter recipe. I've been hesitant to try it.
That falafel bowl at the end looked so yummy. :)
Totally random but my job stocked the Impossible Burger on our menu! Exciting! It's only available for restaurants to buy but you can bet that when they hit the shelves I will buy them up! Yay!
I love the way you eat! I also love snack assortments as meals ✌🏻

Miyoko's butter is a must make.
I've enjoy the Gardien chick'n but haven't tried the fish sticks yet. Oh and the Falfel salad looks yummy too! On my wish list, an air fryer & an instant pot, for sure! Thanks for the recommendations, Sarah! ;)
Sabrina Luna yes air fryer and insta pot 100% recommend
Dinner looked amazing.
I look forward to your videos everyday, they're my favorite thing to eat to while watching haha.
I watch your videos but find myself mostly listening to them just because your voice is so calming. This is probably the most random comment hahha
Seeing a notification of your videos always put a smile on my face :)
Take it to the mat! You got this girl!
I made a sauerkraut with red cabbage, beets, and a little bit of Apple. Turned out amazing.
OMG Sarah, that falafel bowl looks EPIC
Omg I love love love the homemade vegan pantry. I bought it for the butter recipe. Just made the moz and its amazing. The Italian sausages and burgers are just brill. Omgosh!!!! That falafel salad!! I've been craving falafel!
What is absolutely delicious on cinnamon raisin toast is roasted macadamia butter 👌🏼
We are also waiting for the butter recipe!
There's a video of Miyoko Schinner (the author of The Homemade Vegan Pantry) making it on youtube.
I would love you to try the fish sticks recipe! I have been watching your videos for a while but but never comment so thought i should say, thanks for making them, you are awesome!! Been veggie for years but recently moved towards a vegan lifestyle and loving it, been using lots of your recipes :)
I just put it in my soyabella soymilk maker, and let it go. No straining, easy, and it is rich and creamy. Very nice and easy. High quality rich milk.
Did I notice olive oil in a sriracha bottle?? Genius! :D
Yeah I noticed that, too. Amazing. I gotta do that for sure!
Omg I LITERALLY just bought that falafel mix a couple days ago and I wasn't sure if I'd like it. Glad you liked it!
I live in the springs but I love going to boulder in the summer it is so cute!! Also I went vegan in eight grade and I’m now in my second semester of freshmen year of highschool!! and JUST found your channel ok love it!! now I can watch all your videos! 🌞🌞
I love your videos Sarah! So many good ideas, and recipes. When's your cookbook going to be available for purchase? I would most definitely buy it
Loving all the uploads recently. :) That falafel bowl looked soooo good.
I'm so making that cashew cream today!
I have a love-hate relationship the straining part
I found a recipe to make cookies with the okara, they're really good, my mom loves them
Making me crave falafels so bad 😭!! Your video really light up my day, thanks for everything you do!
Those the air fryer really give crunchier results than an oven?
The Veggie Dogs recipe in there is fantastic!
My bad. You did make cold brew. Also, I know you tried a different soy milk recipe but Miyoko gives pretty good reasons to not soak your soybeans.
Enjoy everything thank you for sharing This amazing recipe
OMG THAT FALAFEL BOWL THOOO
I cook my soybeans until they are tender before blending them with water when I make soy milk. I know no one makes their soymilk like this, however, I find it has a mild flavour and is easiest to digest when made that way.
That is my absolute FAVORITE hummus lol so good
Have you tried making homemade tofu? I would love to see that! Also loving all the videos coming in 🤗
The skin would be good in like an "egg" drop or hot and sour soup, or any soup for that matter. If I recall correctly, Mary's Test Kitchen has a soy milk recipw video and she uses the pulp to make other things as well. I so relate to you and get distracted when I am trying to get any work done at home.
I'm starving already, great meals Sarah! Are you planning to visit Greece any time soon?
I'd love to see you try one of gaz oakley's recipes from his avant garde vegan channel or cookbook
I've found the same soy milk recipe you're using but with a little bit of stevia to sweeten it is the best homemade soy milk I've had
The longer of a video you post, the happier I am
Marys Test Kitchen made the recipe from the Vegan Pantry on one of her Yuotube posts. No soaking the beans, supposed to make it less beany tasting.
Gardein is definitely one of my favorite brand, my family and I love their bbq pulled "pork" buns🤗.
Okra chipsssssss! They own the broccoli ones!!
I love your videos. Learning about making my own products.
I can't believe I just realized you live in colorado!!! I'm moving to Colorado springs in two weeks!!!
