we just learned that the song “Killer Tofu” first debuted in Doug on September 8th, 1991. we were ONE DAY off from the 33rd anniversary 😂🤘 who got the reference?
I've been following your channel for a while and it's awesome! And one hour ago I've found Sarah's channel that mentioned you 😂 love your both! Thanks for wonderful recipes ❤ ciao from Italy
The vegan milk bread looks UNREAL! I'd love to watch a bread making video of yours - similar to this format where it's a week of bread recipes. So happy my favorite comfort RUclipsr is back
When I tell people I cook with love it sounds cliche but like Eric mentioned it’s all those little tiny steps that maybe the average home cook doesn’t take, that if you do, it creates those “omg this taste so good what did you do”moments. I really love food. Cooking for people is my love language so I’m going to always take the extra steps and buy the specialty ingredients and take the time to scratch cook, etc but I understand it’s not for everyone. That’s what I love most about your channel. You take the extra steps and provide a cooking experience that teaches people this can be done..and at home..and it be really good lol. ❤. I’m definitely doing that katsu. Every time I see you eat or make it I’m in awe to how realistic it looks compared to what we’ve had in Hawaii. TFS Sarah..always!
So glad to see you’re back. You are one of favorite vegan content creators. I was looking for some new ideas and your recipes are exactly what I’ve been needing. Thank you.
Sarah, it really seems like you're coming into your own. You seem so happy and confident in this video. I've been watching you for years (probably since I went vegan in 2016 and was also HCLF...dark times...) and your camera presence feels different - in a good way! Without trying to be patronizing, I feel so proud of you!
The video quality and editing are fantastic! I don’t think we give you enough credit for all the hard work (and hard earned $$$) you put into this channel. You're one of my favorites on RUclips. Keep up the amazing work-you're making a bigger impact on veganism and overall health than you realize! Lots of love :)
Long?? It’s only 24 minutes. I love a 30+ minute video, especially if I’m washing dishes bc it takes me nearly an hour and I hate taking my gloves off every 9 minutes to pick a new one. Can’t wait to try the silken tofu pudding. ❤ I like to use the boxed shelf stable silken tofu to make a vanilla cream for vegan crepes. Blend tofu until mousse like with sweetener of choice, vanilla (beans, paste, extract) and done!
Maybe make the peanut butter tofu and the chocolate tofu separately and then layer alternately in the jar. Then top with chopped peanuts and chocolate for a bit of crunch!
I am not a vegan, but I love the sound of all of these recipes. I am just starting to incorporate more tofu into our meals and I very excited to try all of these and a few from your playlist. Really enjoy your videos - could watch all day even not being plant based. I like incorporating all kinds of good eats into our weekly meal plans - thank you for such lovely inspiration :)
Yep, authentic-looking katsu plate lunch. We also spent time in Hawaii and have ended up in Colorado by way of central NY. I think my bent towards Asian flavors started in Hawaii where we ate in a lot of strip mall chop suey places as well as other local type small eateries. Yes, frozen tofu - there is a lot of water in tofu, so when it freezes, the water expands and changes the texture of the tofu; also makes it much easier to pick up marinades if you go that route before cooking.
This was a killer episode! I will be making all of it ... starting with the "egg" salad! UPDATE: Egg salad was divine. Also made the silken tofu chocolate pudding and .... OMG! .... that stuff is dangerously delicious. I could eat all of it (but I portioned it into 4 servings and shared it with my family--who all loved it). It was so intensely chocolatey (I used the optional instant coffee.) Thanks you!
I love your videos and recipes, you are so calming it’s so pleasant to listen to. I also appreciate that you giving variations for healthier ways to tweak the recipes, you food is just great!
Sarah, your tofu katsu recipe is BY FAR the BEST recipe. Even if you don't freeze the tofu, it still is 100 times better than the other katsu recipe I used to use as my go to recipe. It is so simple and so crispy!!! Then lets talk about the macaroni salad. I have been looking for a vegan macaroni salad that has the exact taste of salad you made. I just wanted to thank you so much for making these videos with these amazing recipes. You and Eric are the best!!
I remember the first time I tried tofu I thought it was bland and gross; the person who made it for me was a dietician who generally was a good cook… Fast forward a few years later I find this tiny Chinese restaurant near me and try their General Tso Tofu.. It was pure heaven. I then became a little obsessed with tofu for a while and looked into various cultures who eat tons of tofu.. Shaolin Monks (3x a day), various smaller towns in Japan where plenty of Tofu shops exist and people eat it every day. I’m always on the lookout for a Tofu recipe lol. I will say that most places, even top rated Asian restaurants do not do a good job at making Tofu. But then again every so often I’ll get a Tofu appetizer that is perfectly made and I fall in love again.
I'm always so stoked to see your videos in my subscriptions! ❤️ I've been making your tofu egg salad recipe for yearssss now and always do the half crumbled and half chopped technique. Perfection.
i've been loving making homemade gyoza! not vegan but my gf is vegetarian and i've been loving your channel for inspo (so has she lol!) so def excited to try some of theseeeee
I’m so happy to see you again making videos. I can never begin to tell you how much of an impact you’ve helped me on my vegan journey. Thank you for the time and effort you put in to help your viewers make delicious foods. 🥰
Tofu “egg” salad is one of my favourite things ever. Even without the black salt, it’s perfection. The one thing I notice with most youtube foodies is their tofu needs to be pressed. Even their extra firm. This looks like a brand I had before that’s so soft and squishy, I just can’t with the texture. I usually don’t have to press mine.. it’s super dense and meaty. Are there other brands in the US that are firmer than this? Either way, awesome video and your bread looks amazing! Definitely need an “egg” salad sandwhich now.
the silken tofu mousse reminds me of the filling i made for a vegan chocolate cream pie, it was so yummy! i used an oreo crust and topped with truwhip ✨🤤🤤
First of all - girl, you look so radiant! Not sure if it's the move, the summer or the break but something just works for you atm! Secondly, these recipes are amazing! Tofu is such a versatile, easy to use and filling ingredient, I love it. I tend to stick to my go-to tofu dishes but I might actually try some of these - especially the Katsu, it looked (and sounded) so so good!
My go to tofu is cubed super firm tofu coated in crystal hot sauce, nutritional yeast, almond flour, and garlic salt. It goes with so many things! Can't wait to trt your mayo recipe and tofu egg salad. So nostalgic 💛
I’m not even close to vegetarian but I frequently play with tofu as my means to eat more plant based. Just wanna say that I love your ability to transform food into very comforting meals! Been here for a while and I always come back! Adding the spice for the tofu salad to my cart now; could u link it please! ❤
Wow...what a great video! So thoroughly watchable, informative, and entertaining from start to finish. I'll definitely be making a few of these, especially the Katsu, and the mousse. Thanks so much!
Just stumbled upon the page. I'm definitely making the egg salad and the sesame tofu. We're gluten free so the Gyoza won't work, but I'm stoked about the others.
I used your egg salad recipe as guideline when making mine today. Extremely loosely based on yours. Basically ratios and adapting it to egg salad I would usually make. My thing has always been miracle whip instead of mayo. I found a recipe for miracle whip online and adapted it to use avocado and water in place of the egg and oil. Next time I make this, I may try extra firm or super firm tofu as the firm I used doesn’t quit give me that egg white chew. The flavor slaps though. Definitely egg salad vibes.
I semi-recently discovered smoked tofu and that's become my new obsession. I like to shred it up and mix it into a creamy pasta dish, or into a fried rice/stir fry kind of deal. It adds a really nice element.
Tofu is life ☺️ One of the first videos I ever watched of yours was a tofu katsu video where you baked them in the oven. I think you lived in San Francisco - I could be wrong 🤔
You actually have no idea how much I enjoyed this video! Perfection! So happy to have come across your channel. I will be trying them allll, especially the katsu with peanut oil one.
What you said about indian food being a labor of love to taste good is so true! I sometimes make a big pot of "butter chicks", which is "almost" butter chicken but with chickpeas, and whenever I have and take the time to toast and make my own spice blend it turns out SO much better
The new camera footage looks stellar, your production quality has gotten so good especially in the past year. Excited to try your vegan mayo recipe once I run out of my current jar!
The best and most unique tofu themed video. Literally everyone else makes the same 5 things all the time and I never bother watching. Thank you! Love your vibe 😊
yoooo i became obsessed with making a flavorful tofu mushroom cabbage carrot dumpling over the past couple months and i wasn't finding what i wanted online so i made up my own recipe, then i see you did it a couple weeks later haha. but man it really is a labor of love. it toook sooooooooo long. i made way too much at once cuz i did the whole cabbage and two blocks of tofu. chopping everything so small took forever. idk if ill do it again but it was absooutely delicious. i added some particular spices, chilis, and sauces. maybe ill do it again in a few years and in a much smaller batch. i think it ended up being like 250 dumplings (filled and cooked over a couple days)
So thrilled to watch a "real' video from you again. Loooonger videos please. Even if you guys just goofing around. Your recipes are amazing but I've been following you for so long I feel like your mom, great aunt or whatever. Can't get enough of you guys 🥰 .I can only imagine how hard it is to film, edit and be consistent on posting but I'll watch anything you put out there. Much Love and Peace from Upstate NY.
Great recipes! Yum! Other staples are scrambled tofu (sometimes with added mung beans or ackee) tofu bacon, tofu Benedictine… the possibilities are endless, like you said it’s so versatile! Crumbled in spaghetti sauce, in smoothies (silken) or even in macaroni and « cheese » sauce! Also very salty boiled chunks to replace the cheese in poutine! Oh I haven’t tried in soup (except miso) but maybe blended with butternut squash?
Thanks for your video. I love your cooking style. I like cooking from scratch as well. Sometimes I don’t have the time or energy, but I like to know how to make something from scratch. I’m going to get cookin’!
You are my all time favorite vegan and cooking channel. I actually do go to your website for recipes too. You’re just the best and you and your hubby are so likeable and seem like such sweet down to earth humans. Thank you for all your work!! 😊
agree she is such a source of inspiration whenever i need to cook something and like her i love sharing my own recipes on my youtube channel i hope that one day i can inspire as many like she does
I had to quit eating meat four years ago because of extreme gut issues. I’m just now getting into tofu. My NYC hubby has not been enthusiastic but he’s learning. Your recipes sound great.
Since becoming vegetarian I've really missed chicken katsu with Mac salad bc it's one of my favorite foods. So thank you SO MUCH for making such a good tofu katsu recipe. I can't wait to try it.
I loveeee how effortless you make things look! You really are skilled. I love your gochugang crispy tofu recipe too- so quick and easy and definitely gives take out vibes! Keep the vids coming!!
I really want to try the air-fried tofu. We like to pan fry some sweet onions pan fry tofu and add out favorite bbq sauce. It makes a great sandwich on a toasted kaiser roll
Ciao and thank you for your nice video, this looks very delicious.. personally i've cooked a Pasta Sauce with white beans, much garlic and chilis, so i can eat the Pasta for 2-3 days.. i wish you all a wonderful Weekend, many greetings from a Veggie from brunswick in Germany and please stay safe 🙃
Awesome video, and yes, you have definitely inspired me. I have just started eating more tofu and actually loving it. Only the other day did I make some peanut butter mouse and put a layer of melted chocolate on the top. When it chilled, it reminded me of a Reeses cup..delicious!🥰
Omg that Tofu Katsu!!! How do you defrost your tofu in the microwave? I never have an issue remembering to put it in the freezer, but I NEVER remember to get it out to thaw until it’s already dinner time and then I don’t know how to speed up that defrost process! I’ve never tried the microwave because I’m always scared I’m going to somehow cook it by using too high a heat or too long a time or the wrong function!
Thank you for making tofu Katsu! You brought me back to my roots having grown up in Hawaii, and loving the original chicken katsu, I thought I never would experience that again, but you stick to the original with the mixture of rice and Mac salad. I will definitely have to try your version. Mahalo plenny!
My husband and I were not fans of tofu UNTIL we watched your sesame covered tofu recipe way back. You are our TOFU HERO 💪. We now eat tofu all the time thanks to you 🌱
I found that Super/Extra Firm Tofu can be grated like cheese! Also we love to bread tofu cubes ( using unpressed and still very wet out of the package) .
Each recipe delivers a flavorful punch while keeping health in focus-whether it's through high-protein tofu or homemade sauces that pack in the taste! 🧑🍳
Definitely going to have to make the katsu! Already have my tofu in the freezer! I would love if you could do a pad Thai! I used to get this pad Thai at a restaurant I worked at and the tofu was fried cubes and so crispy, but the sauce was perfectly balanced with it. I still crave it and it’s been almost 15 years.
Loving this video and the recipes. Definitely will give them a try. I want to let you that when you cook tofu, or other foods at a high heat, like 400 degrees, advanced glycation end-products are formed. AGEs. These are compounds that can increase your risk of: • Chronic diseases: Increased risk of diabetes, heart disease, and kidney failure due to damage caused to cells and tissues. • Inflammation: AGEs promote inflammation, leading to damage to blood vessels and organs. • Oxidative stress: They increase oxidative stress, leading to cell damage and accelerating aging. • Neurodegeneration: Potential role in diseases like Alzheimer's by promoting brain cell damage. • Vascular complications: Increased risk of atherosclerosis and hypertension. You may want to consider cooking anything no higher than 350 degrees, or if you do, use an acidic base or topping to reduce your exposure. Feel free to Google this for more information. Love your channel and all the recipes!
That Nisha recipe is so good! Have made it many times. Her red lentil curry is also fantastic & not as labour intense so great for a quick weeknight meal.
This all looked really good and I think I need to try those dumplings, both the normal jiaozi and the pouches you made later on with those sweet potato noodles.
I always love your creativity. Its not often that I crave egg salad, but... you got me! Wondering now if there could be some hybrid of a tuna melt using shredded and marinated/baked tofu as tuna?
I love your videos & feel inspired every time you make these recipes. I've been vegan for about 8ish years, and my partner isn't vegan, but eats anything I cook, so that's a win. I can't wait to make him the katsu because he's so open-minded to it.
Everyone is mocking me because of my deep love to tofu and now I just found this yt channel. Thank you for so many good ideas/receipes! You two are great!! :)
That bread! Def challenging myself to give that recipe a go. Everything else is within my cooking level, but bread baking just seems daunting even though I make killer desserts. Really enjoy your channel. 🫶
Really enjoyed that! Love all your videos. I will be picking up some tofu tomorrow to make the Tofu egg salad and vegan mayo this weekend. The gyoza and the mousse will be next on the list :)
I'd love for you to try the oatmeal idea. It is my fav breakfast. I usually use soy milk or coconut yogurt and add in TVP to make it high protein but silk tofu would be kewl.
I never leave comments ... but I had to tell you how much I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I am a huge Tofu fan and your ideas are wonderful! Thank you...and I love your format. Like hanging out with a friend.🤗
not vegan but as a person who just doesn't love meat i'm always looking for some good tofu recipes and these look great , i'm gonna have to try the air fryer for mine like the sesame recipe cause we just got what looks like the same model recently and i've been wondering what temps and time to try it at.
we just learned that the song “Killer Tofu” first debuted in Doug on September 8th, 1991. we were ONE DAY off from the 33rd anniversary 😂🤘 who got the reference?
I specifically clicked to ask you if this was a Doug reference. Lol
@@SarahsVeganKitchen I got it instantly! 🤣😂
I missed it but, don't eat...t-t-too much tofu! Lol. Doug was a classic. I'm just a few months older than that song lol.
Can you recommend a mushroom and asparagus alternative because I’m allergic?
Immediately! 😭🥹 I loved Doug 💜
Hi Sarah 👋🏽 Thank you so much for making my tofu tikka masala recipe and for sharing it here ☺️ I’m so glad the labor of love was worth it 🤗
thank you, Nisha! we absolutely need to make the tikka masala again 🙏
I've been following your channel for a while and it's awesome! And one hour ago I've found Sarah's channel that mentioned you 😂 love your both! Thanks for wonderful recipes ❤ ciao from Italy
So nice to see you show support on other vegan cooking channels! ❤
Love you both SO much! Best food creatives I've gotten inspo from❤
LIFE WITHOUT TOFU IS NO LIFE AT ALL 😶🌫️
life without sarah's videos and recipes has been no life at all
I state the same about beef, oily fish & eggs. Each to their own.
totally agree. should we put that on a shirt or something? 🤔
@@SarahsVeganKitchen YES! 😍
I agree
The vegan milk bread looks UNREAL! I'd love to watch a bread making video of yours - similar to this format where it's a week of bread recipes. So happy my favorite comfort RUclipsr is back

Just wait till you guys play pickle ball together. You’ll be the most gourmet cook on the internet!
So glad to see you’re back. You are one of favorite vegan content creators. I was looking for some new ideas and your recipes are exactly what I’ve been needing. Thank you.

OOOh, I love the Nisha shoutout! And you KNOW this recipe was dad approved!
22:00 I cannot say how happy it made me to see some regular a$$ jars instead of super aesthetic one-purpose stuff.
Thanks for all the inspiration ❤

tofu is such a versatile ingredient like i love saying on my youtube channel tofu is a sponge ready to get flavours into it
Yes please! Everything looked delicious!
Yay! It's Sarah and Eric and a whole bunch of delicious recipes!
We now eat tofu all the time thanks to you 🌱
The texture of the katsu looks great
these ALL look SOOOO good
Everything you made looked so delicious!
As much as I enjoyed your “summer” video, I can’t wait to see a fall one.
uhh same such a autumn girl and i cannot wait to share my own recipes in my youtube channel too
I found that Super/Extra Firm Tofu can be grated like cheese!
I feel like the gyoza filling would be great to freeze some egg rolls or spring rolls too for a fun appetizer or fried crunchy treat.
Loving this video and the recipes. Definitely will give them a try. I want to let you that when you cook tofu, or other foods at a high heat, like 400 degrees, advanced glycation end-products are formed. AGEs. These are compounds that can increase your risk of:
• Chronic diseases: Increased risk of diabetes, heart disease, and kidney failure due to damage caused to cells and tissues.
I was nervous I was going to be facing Autumn without you 😅 welcome back 🤎
haha you won't have to face the cold weather alone, don't worry! 🍂❄
Thank you for sharing. You make everything look so beautiful and delicious! I can't wait to try the gyoza recipe.
Everything looks delicious! Thank you for sharing!
I was just looking to find new ways to cook tofu! These recipes look delicious 😋 thank you!!
I just found your channel and I'm so glad I did! I'll be slowly working my way through your videos. So many delicious recipes!
Your videos are great!! I'm glad to have found your channel!! I'm excited to see more videos! I'm slowly learning how to add more tofu to my life!
So glad to see another cinematic level production Sarah! I adore your content so so much. ❤❤❤
I love your videos & feel inspired every time you make these recipes. I've been vegan for about 8ish years, and my partner isn't vegan, but eats anything I cook, so that's a win. I can't wait to make him the katsu because he's so open-minded to it.
Thanks for all your hard work. Loved the variety of recipes you shared. Can't wait to try a few.
Everyone is mocking me because of my deep love to tofu and now I just found this yt channel. Thank you for so many good ideas/receipes! You two are great!! :)
These all look so good, I will definitely be trying most, if not all, of them!
Great collection of recipes
I never leave comments ... but I had to tell you how much I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I am a huge Tofu fan and your ideas are wonderful! Thank you...and I love your format. Like hanging out with a friend.🤗
agree she inspires my own youtube channel so much for ever grateful and was missing her so much
honored that you commented on our video...thank you! 🥰
So good to see you!! 😊❤🎉
I love tofu!! It's amazing 👏 😍 and so versatile!! Thank you for these wonderful recipes!!
I am Vegan but need to do more with tofu, thanks for the inspiration, as always!
Costco had a sale on tofu and I stocked up! This video is exactly what I needed. Never thought about a tofu press, I think I’ll get one 😊
I really love your Tofu recipes. I make mushroom soup with silken tofu and Plant Milk which is very tasty. xx
Everything looks so incredible ❤
not vegan but as a person who just doesn't love meat i'm always looking for some good tofu recipes and these look great , i'm gonna have to try the air fryer for mine like the sesame recipe cause we just got what looks like the same model recently and i've been wondering what temps and time to try it at.
