Random story about how I named my starter: I was hiking long distance with a friend when we bumped into a lad who had dropped his food bag. He asked if we had seen it, jogged back a few miles, then came back to us still not finding it. He told us he was giving up and would restock at the next town, and if we found it please use the food or at least carry it to a bin so he wasn’t littering. I gave him some bars to keep him going and we parted ways. About 4 miles later we found his bag - bananas, pb, chocolate spread and a fresh baked loaf of bread. We ate it over the next few days and always said thank you for the extra food - we never knew his name but he was Welsh so we called him Gareth. My starter is now Gareth. Wherever you are in the world mate thanks again, hope you didn’t get too hungry and I’m making some good bread with my Gareth!
I don't think I've ever seen you make something that doesn't give you that, OMG I wish I was eating that right now feeling! And your soups always look amazing! Seriously, AMAZING!!
Mid 90s, rainy autumns, snowy winters. I remember sitting next to the window watching the rain pour down or the snow falling, with a bowl of soup made by my mom in my hands and just enjoying life as a 10 year old.
Not sure if you're into cartoons but over the garden wall is my fall favorite cozy watch. 😊 Love your videos. My wife and I have been using your recipes thank you so much for sharing!!!
Ms. Sarah, not sure if anyone has chimed in on this, so just thought I'd lend you a suggestion on using your mortar and pestle - instead of pounding down the spices, press the mortar down on to the spices the just gently grind them down to your liking. This way the flavor really comes out and you'll get that aerobatic scent even more. Even the paste will be more profound after the "press & grind or grind & press" method🥰❤❤🥰 There's definitely a profound difference 😄
P.S. there's really no wrong or right to using the mortar & pestle, its more about crushing / grinding to spices to bring out the aroma and forming a paste / powder for use in any of 6our recipes. 🥰
Sweet video. I like your thoughts about marking the season, even just for yourself. When you have kids and you're used to doing all the holiday stuff for them when they're little, and they grow up and move away, you kind of stop doing that stuff, and then the whole year just mashes together and feels endless, not in a good way. I've been trying to create more "cozy" this fall, trying to get some of that feeling back of marking the seasons and celebrating and noticing the small things, looking for the glimmers of magic and joy. Anyway, that was all to say your video is a nice reminder that it's enough to do these things even just for ourselves. 🫖🥣🕯🧡Thank you, Sarah. (Also I didn't know about your recipe blog and am glad you mentioned it!)
Shows with autumn vibes -- my suggestions would be the "Anne of Green Gables" series done in the 80's for Canadian TV ((CBC) and "Anne with an E" that was done by Netflix several years ago -- both are based on the same story and have the same vibes 🌱🧡
It’s officially SVK season in my house! We’re obsessed with all of your thoughtful and wholesome soup recipes. I swear it’s the only thing that gets me through those last few months of winter. ❤
Although X-Files isn't necessary very autumn themed, it's one of my autumn watch-throughs. The first few seasons have quite a gloomy, pacific northwest vibe to them which is probably why I associate the series with autumn.
this is great if you're a stay at home person with a consistent schedule. i am a college student and work part time preparing and striking sets for events at my uni. sometimes i start my day at 8 PM, other times it's 3 AM, depending on when i'm needed. i won't eat until my day is over and when i do get home, i just want something quick and easy that won't make a lot of dishes to wash (lots of convenience store food) or i just eat leftover snacks from the venue i worked at. i don't think i could ever have a slow, cozy life or a vegan diet. but i still like watching these types of videos while i eat my own less aesthetic meals
Tv autumn shows for me: Buffy, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, and Living Single (they based Friends off of that). Not sure if the later two give fall vibes but they are super cozy for me 😂 My spooky fall movies that’re not spooky are: The Craft, Practical Magic, Rocky Horror, Phantom of the Paradise, and Velvet Goldmine. I’ve been recommended Suspiria and that might be my chill weekend cozy movie this Halloween
At r local homemade bakery i ordered her monthly special, pumpkin spice bread shaped into a pumpkin. OMG! It is sooo good. Got 2 more loaves for church this weekend & I another ordered loaf to share w/my women's bible study! Super cute & delish!
The TJs Korean rice balls are the bomb! I suggest taking a half a sheet of Nori and just waving it over an open flame on the top of your stove to lightly toast it and then wrap the rice ball in that like onigiri. The beefless Bulgogi is really good too if you get the Trader Joe’s kimchi and warm it up with that in a pan and then have it over rice wrap inside the Taiwanese green onion pancake heated up of course.
Props to making a realistic fall vibes video when the actual temps were in the 80’s! Can’t wait to try the pumpkin coffee cake and pumpkin shaped sourdough!
Sarah, Sarah, Sarah I have watched your RUclips videos in the past, but I truly fell in love with your channel this weekend. I have some favorites but yours is near the top. I am looking forward to trying your Chai Latte tea!! So I made the basic chickpea crisp with salt, pepper, onion and already roasted garlic that carmelized on the chickpeas. I had made roasted chickpeas in the past but realized I had not been baking them long enough!! Truly addicting! I went through 2 cans of chickpeas in 2 days. So THANK YOU!!
We watched most of Frasier a few years back. Such a good show! I also had to reply to this comment because I saw it two seconds after Eric and I were talking about Frasier 😂 what are the chances!
your point about growing up and having things feel like they blur together is something i've been feeling sooo much this past year. it's a bit scary and overwhelming, but i definitely need to try and take more time doing cooking/baking. especially since i noticed memories feel more lively and wholesome when they're attached to food
Not at all new, actually quite old, but the Northern Exposure series might be nice for fall. Very kind, gentle show. If you can purchase it somehow; my set is old DVDs.
I have been feeling so bad for my sourdough starter! It has been hibernating since April and this video gave me the kick I needed to wake it back up. I really liked all of these recipes and will probably try to try them all!! I loved the vibes in this one.
I watch the good witch every fall! Honestly you probably *should* watch the short hallmark movies first to get the basis (they’re super cute and cozy) but the show itself is very good too. Light drama, fun themes, hallmarky obv but witchy and fun
"Over the garden wall" as a fall show recommendation, the animation is beautiful. Good job with the pumpkin shaped bread, it looked great! and that curry recipe is one of my go-to always, but with potatoes instead of pumpkin, I need to try your version!
The Korean Beefless Bulgogi is really good! I usually toss that in with some pre-cut veggies and pre-made fried rice for a quick stir fry, then drizzle any favorite sauces. So easy and simple. Thank you, Sarah for sharing, as always! 🙏💚
That silcon bread sling is genuis. Im saving that for later. I stopped making sourdough a while ago, lost my starter in a move, I always used 100% whole wheat and probably should try again with like 60/40. I like the hardier taste but it gets a little tough with a thick crust.
i adore fall sooo much!! 🥰 ive recently been thinking about trying to make pumpkin soup or finding another comforting soup recipe. im sooo excited to try these recipes soon 🤗 (btw your bread looks so great & pretty!! 👏🏻)
for stuff to watch during autumn, i recommend Fantastic Mr. Fox, the Twilight Saga, any Tim Burton movie but especially Sleepy Hollow and Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice (the original), Howl's Moving Castle, and The Truman Show. i think nostalgic stuff is the most cozy, so i like rewatching old(er) movies
I could watch hours of you baking bread! I find it so calming and satisfying. And that wedding soup looked so good I might make it this week (the temp finally dropped out of the 80s). I also prefer spooky movies to scary/gory. One I really liked was The Orphanage. It has plenty of spooky/creepy scenes but it didn't give me nightmares (so that was a big plus 😆). It is a Spanish film and I don't remember if it has an English dubbed version.
It's not a cozy show, it's actually pretty dark. But sometimes it has some cozy vibes and for me it fits the season: Twin Peaks. If you haven't seen it, it's really weird. But sooo good.
I really like that curry recipe. Some of these videos (other influencers) have so many ingredients. While yours seems quite forgiving. Which means I'm actually going to finally make one. Thank you!
Hello from Texas That pumpkin shaped sourdough bread was awesome. Truly aha moment. For many things you could go to an Indian grocery store. Not all Indian grocery stores are the same. If you have Patel Brothers or India Bazaar or Sabzi mandi close to you , I would highly recommend those 3 Indian stores. They carry almost everything. For tea , try using Tata Gold loose leaf tea. You will get good selection of spices, lentils, daals, veggies in Indian store. Also incense sticks, basmati rice, and so many things.
Such a cute video! I’m definitely making that pumpkin coffee cake! Edit: so I made it last night and it came out delicious!! I turned it into muffins and they were perfect. It’s now my go to recipe for pumpkin bread!
I love all the recipes 🧡 I need to get into baking bread! Not quite like Gilmore Girls and all very different, but I do like to watch these during autumn: Only Murders in the Building, Laid-Back Camp, Over the Gardenwall, The Traitors and Midsomar Murders 🥰
hii from London UK - just wanna say this video is so comforting and cosy 🥹 all the shops are starting to sell christmas stuff but i'm not ready for it, i am loving all the lovely recipes and watching you make them, and all the talk inbetween. so grateful i've discovered your channel🥹🥐✨💛
So much goodness in this video! The first time I ever had chai, I made it from a recipe in Coffee Journal many many years ago. So much better than any of the mix stuff. I used to open cans the way, you do in the video, I recognize that ragged edge. If you get a can opener that’s actually designed for it, it cuts along the lid instead of below. I think mine is by Oxo. It’s cool because the way it cuts, you can actually put the lid back on for temporary storage.
Hey Sarah! The video is super cozy as always! I recommend watching Over The Garden Wall, you can not find a better watch for the fall season, trust me!
🦉Fall Yum🌰Vibes🐿️ Eric is such a character 😮when he was carving his pumpkin, I seriously thought something playfully was going to jump out🕸️🕷️😂 🧡You two are such a sweet couple cultivating a vegan community. As a suggestion, please consider a crossover event fellow YouT. Sweet Simple Vegan w/Jasmine & Chris🌍
A Trader Joes employee once gave me a great a low-effort recipe idea with those bulgogi that I make at least once a week. (romaine or butter) lettuce wraps with bulgogi + vegan kimchi + rice. They're so addicting.
Hi Sarah and Eric, I will try some of recipes for sure. From the last video I did the Stick Sesame Tofu, Crispy Tofu Katsu, The vegan mayo ( don't buy mayo anymore), Vegan Egg Salada with the Vegan milk bread (I am baking this bread every week now) and the Vegan Pumpkin bread ( today I tried the same recipe but used mash banana insted) Thank you so much for all your recipes. Bye the way, I don't watch horrors movies either, don't like them, on the Halloween we watch the kids movie with my soon, like Corpuse Bride and Ocus Pocus. Thank you.
The Pacific NW is very cozy in Fall and a movie that shows its scenery is a 1999 film called Snow Falling On Cedars. Cozy rain, cozy snow, and the best is fog among the evergreen trees
Hi Sarah! I have some show/movie recommendations for fall/halloween vibez that are cozy and spooky without being scary (I also don’t do well with scary/horror). I’m sure you’ve probably gotten some of these recommendations already, but maybe you can find something new it this list! - [ ] Nightmare Before Christmas - [x] Adams Family - [x] Adams Family Values - [ ] Goonies - [x] Kiki’s Delivery Service - [x] Spirited Away - [ ] Scooby Doo and the Witches Ghost - [ ] It’s the great pumpkin Charlie Brown - [x] Coraline - [ ] Corpse Bride - [x] Beetle juice - [ ] SpongeBob Halloween special - [ ] Nosferatu - [ ] Young Frankenstein - [x] The Labyrinth - [x] Over the Garden Wall - [ ] Harry Potter - [ ] Twilight - [ ] Mary and the Witches Flower - [x] Lemony Snicket’s A Series on Unfortunate Events - [x] Gravity Falls - [ ] Matilda - [ ] Coco Fall Vibez - [ ] Fantastic Mr fox - [ ] Phantom of the opera - [ ] Anne of Green Gables - [ ] Little Women - [ ] Secret Garden - [ ] Homeward Bound - [ ] Lord of the Rings
Sarah, I bough a stainless steel cookware set about 20 yrs ago and I have a set of cast iron skillets I’ve have for over 30 years and to me they work about the same way.
I don't know if it's a new microphone you're using or if your tone of voice is extra calm today but this video was so soothing and relaxing. Thank you for continuing to create such wonderful content.
Made the butternut squash chickpea coconut curry tonight. AMAZING! Roasting that squash I’m sure made a difference to how flavorful this was. Outstanding. And I left out all the spicy things; I used a green bell pepper. So flavorful, I had to stop myself or I would have just kept eating. Great stuff!
20:27 Sarah: "You fold the squash in." Me: "I understand that, but how, how do you fold it? Do you fold it in half like a piece of paper and drop it in the pot, or what do you do?" Sarah - "You just... here's what you do. You just fold it in."
Do you think i can substitute the coconut milk with the barista blend oatmilk? I cannot have anything fatty like coconut milk but i miss curries so much
If you like mushrooms I would love to see you try that grill press with some lions mane or different mushrooms! Turnip Todd has great vids on doing that. Thank you for the video!! Definitely starting to feel cozy season. 🎃
Your tea making was reminding me to buy some masala chai. Love how it's a bit spicy, and I was thinking, "hmm, wonder if I put a little cayenne in it to kick it up??" Glad to know we're on the same page! I enjoy these videos so much. Keep up the great work. Always giving me so many ideas, and omg, that pumpkin crumb cake...drool.
A month later thought you might like a winter tv binge. Northern Exposure is good though you can tell that mores have changed in a positive way since the 90’s
Haven’t even seen the whole video but noticed trick or a treat in the intro! That’s a Halloween movie we watch every year and we just saw it last night! Our family loves watching Coraline, nightmare before Christmas has been on repeat every single day since late September -we love the beauty and art of stop motion/claymation and today we just saw Charlie Brown the Great pumpkin 🎃. We love Halloween . So excited for this video! Ok, so what’s yalls verdict on the movie?😄
Sarah, I shared your video with Michael…the sour dough bread master in our home. He was blown away with silt pad sling. He ordered them today. Thanks ❤
I LOOVEEEE FALLLLL!!!! what a beautiful video bb 😗 glad to be your forever taste-tester and pumpkin carving partner
dude i love the luke danes impression! 😂👏🏻
@@mariakara2419😂 well thank you!
Hope you guys are up for a podcast sometime! Maybe a new wild card. You have great personalities.

You always nail the vibes!! There's truly nothing more relaxing than watching one of your videos😌
That's so true haha 😂
That's so sweet, thank you 🥲

I love the CBC version of Anne of Green Gables series. I have been trying to find it on a streaming service.
Anne with an E was so good. Feels a little more wintery to me than fall, but still so good.
I love Coraline! A favorite October movie. The bread is so cute! I’d love a sourdough starter tutorial.
It’s officially SVK season in my house! We’re obsessed with all of your thoughtful and wholesome soup recipes. I swear it’s the only thing that gets me through those last few months of winter. ❤
Love to hear that 🥰 soup is the only redeeming part of winter 😅
Although X-Files isn't necessary very autumn themed, it's one of my autumn watch-throughs. The first few seasons have quite a gloomy, pacific northwest vibe to them which is probably why I associate the series with autumn.

Death Becomes Her would be such a good movie for what youre looking for!
Props to making a realistic fall vibes video when the actual temps were in the 80’s! Can’t wait to try the pumpkin coffee cake and pumpkin shaped sourdough!
Anne with an E is a great show to watch for Fall.
that pumpkin bread was that picturesque perfect on the first try...i could never
Sarah, Sarah, Sarah I have watched your RUclips videos in the past, but I truly fell in love with your channel this weekend. I have some favorites but yours is near the top. I had made roasted chickpeas in the past but realized I had not been baking them long enough!! Truly addicting! I went through 2 cans of chickpeas in 2 days. So THANK YOU!!
The jumeokbap are delicious! Highly recommend pan frying them after microwaving to get that crisp rice texture.
Fraiser has cozy coffee shop vibes. 10/10 recomend that show.
Also everything looks so tasty. Might make the chia concentrate. ❤
We watched most of Frasier a few years back. Such a good show! I also had to reply to this comment because I saw it two seconds after Eric and I were talking about Frasier 😂 what are the chances!
your butternut squash curry version with red thai curry paste is such a staple for me in fall now!! im gonna try this little variant
your point about growing up and having things feel like they blur together is something i've been feeling sooo much this past year. it's a bit scary and overwhelming, but i definitely need to try and take more time doing cooking/baking. especially since i noticed memories feel more lively and wholesome when they're attached to food
30 Rock is my go-to for autumn shows. I've watched that show thousands of times and it's perfect for a great laugh while bundled up in a blanket
I live in Houston so we don't really get Autumn till December... January... February. But as cozy shows go, this episode did the trick for me! ❤
Can you make a video on how to make a sourdough starter?
Tbh there already are many out there and its not that hard. Especially if you just plan on doing white bread.
I watch the good witch every fall! Honestly you probably *should* watch the short hallmark movies first to get the basis (they’re super cute and cozy) but the show itself is very good too. Light drama, fun themes, hallmarky obv but witchy and fun
Your pumpkin-shaped loaf was a work of art. I will be making the butternut squash and chickpea curry soon ... it looks amazing.
this was so so needed, definitely want to try your pumpkin coffee cake!! thank you for feeding us such yummy autumn content
I’ve started the cosy season with Eric’s „beef” goulash. Dang, it’s soo soo good! Pumpkin coffee cake will be next ❤
ive recently been thinking about trying to make pumpkin soup or finding another comforting soup recipe. im sooo excited to try these recipes soon 🤗 (btw your bread looks so great & pretty!! 👏🏻)
Oh..that soup and coffee cake look absolutely delicious!! Gonna work that into my rotation this season! Thank you for sharing!
for stuff to watch during autumn, i recommend Fantastic Mr.

I think you'd really enjoy a vegan version of punjabi shahi paneer!
It's not a cozy show, it's actually pretty dark. But sometimes it has some cozy vibes and for me it fits the season: Twin Peaks.
If you haven't seen it, it's really weird. But sooo good.
One of our favorites for the season is, over the garden wall. Also, song of the sea.
An apple slice in your brown sugar jar will also help keep the brown sugar from getting hard :)
Twin peaks (s1 & s2) is the best fall series I think! Also a bit spooky 🥸
I suggest trying white whole wheat flour over regular whole wheat. It's a softer whole wheat than regular whole wheat with a lighter taste.
World Market is great! love the hot sauce selection and you can always find some fun vegan-friendly treats!
I really like that curry recipe. Some of these videos (other influencers) have so many ingredients. While yours seems quite forgiving. Which means I'm actually going to finally make one. Thank you!
From sources I've heard salt is fine to add WITH the starter (as long as they're on separate regions of the hydrated dough....)
Loving your new style of filming/videography! Color looks great too.
Thank you so much 🥲
Hello from Texas
That pumpkin shaped sourdough bread was awesome.

It's still in the mid to upper 90s here and I'm ready to riot. I want to make cozy fall things!
Everything looks so good!! 😄
And, I highly recommend watching Stranger Things! It's my favorite show, and it's perfect for fall/spooky season. 🥰
Your sourdough bread is a work of art. You've perfected your artisan bread-baking craft! Thank you for this lovely video.
So much goodness in this video! The first time I ever had chai, I made it from a recipe in Coffee Journal many many years ago. So much better than any of the mix stuff. Oh… couple movie suggestions… Monster Squad and Paranorman.
Hey Sarah! The video is super cozy as always! I recommend watching Over The Garden Wall, you can not find a better watch for the fall season, trust me!

A Trader Joes employee once gave me a great a low-effort recipe idea with those bulgogi that I make at least once a week. (romaine or butter) lettuce wraps with bulgogi + vegan kimchi + rice. They're so addicting.
Recommend Beetlejuice for spooky non nightmare vibes🥰
Thank you.
I love that pumpkin kit. I wonder if I can use metal cookie cutters.
I am making that Italian meatball soup IMMEDIATELY 🤤
Same!
The Pacific NW is very cozy in Fall and a movie that shows its scenery is a 1999 film called Snow Falling On Cedars. Cozy rain, cozy snow, and the best is fog among the evergreen trees

Sarah, I bough a stainless steel cookware set about 20 yrs ago and I have a set of cast iron skillets I’ve have for over 30 years and to me they work about the same way.
That is SUCH a photogenic loaf omg
wow my heart is soaring seeing that pumpkin shaped loaf and how proud you are of it!!!!!! wow! also your hair looks fabulous! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Stranger Things is a show I watch every fall. Especially seasons 1 & 2
How about watching Over The Garden Wall. Allways does it for me. So wholesome and so autumny!
Omg that Pumpkin 🎃 design sourdough bread with cinnamon stem is the CUTEST!!! Way to go Sarah!! And Howie 🍞🥖🥐
Been waiting for the Italian Wedding Soup section since seeing it on Insta... one of my fave soups! Gosh you bought THE perfect pumpkin!
I don't know if it's a new microphone you're using or if your tone of voice is extra calm today but this video was so soothing and relaxing. Thank you for continuing to create such wonderful content.
Love this! For the tv shows. Try Over the garden wall! It's so cozy and eerie.
Such a cozy video!!
Also, Practical Magic is free on RUclips right now 👻
20:27 Sarah: "You fold the squash in." Me: "I understand that, but how, how do you fold it? Do you fold it in half like a piece of paper and drop it in the pot, or what do you do?" Sarah - "You just... here's what you do. You just fold it in."
I just finished off a batch of your “egg” salad and gyoza and this video pops up. Yay!
Do you think i can substitute the coconut milk with the barista blend oatmilk? I cannot have anything fatty like coconut milk but i miss curries so much
The series Good witch is perfect to watch for fall
Don’t often comment but this is a beautifully made video. And your pumpkin sourdough turned out so beautiful! Made me want to try making it too.
If you wrote a book, I swear, it would sell 100,000 copies. ❤
What a super cool video! I loved every moment of it. You've got me in the fall spirit to make some comforting warm autumn meals.
I love your videos so much! They’re always worth the wait!
The TJ soy milk is good for making yogurt because of the simple ingredients.
A month later thought you might like a winter tv binge. Northern Exposure is good though you can tell that mores have changed in a positive way since the 90’s
Once you figured it out, I would love a tutorial on how to use stainless steel pots. I can't seam to figure it out for my self. 😅
The bread loaf looks so pretty I love it.
Practical magic is just a good movie, Coraline is totally a good one to watch
you'd better be watching over the garden wall this fall 🎃
Sarah, I shared your video with Michael…the sour dough bread master in our home. He was blown away with silt pad sling. He ordered them today. Thanks ❤
