That was my first thought too lol
Thanks, Mr. Bean.

Dude I literally cannot even believe what my eyes are seeing right now. It is unbelievable how far music production technology has come. I definitely might have to buy this product, the fact that you can use your own sounds is so damn awesome.
Theres another similar product by a different company that just has little modules you strap onto normal drumsticks. That one has little bands you put on your ankles for the pedals, id say from a technology standpoint that one is a bit more impressive, and a bit more compact. Though this one seems much more practical, i think the one i mentioned has a noticable amount of delay, which makes it kind of unusable for anything fast, not sure if the ankle straps would be able to detect doubles done with the toes either.
ive never used either, but i think this pocket drum would be pretty great for practice on the go, say if youre on a train etc. not sure if it actually has a battery or needs to be plugged into mains though.
@@BrandonBarnwell You are talking about Aerodrums. I have owned them for about 6 years. They are fantastic and since the VR update, the immersion is incredible. This is very cool too though. ruclips.net/video/2yKFolB2GRM/видео.html
@@coppermine64 but it must so weird without the bounceback from actual drums though? i can't wrap my head around the fact that you don't have any physical impact on the sticks, wouldn't that impact the way you play?

Man, all I had growing up were Hit Stix. This is amazing!
For the first half minute I actually thought it was a joke 😂 I don't know if I like this. I like the feel of the drum kit around me and also it's easier to keep the beat when you can actually feel yourself hitting something. For me anyway.
I got sidetracked by your video and blew money, I didn't expect that
I love how these can look so real yet so fake at the same time
Can you send me that custom drum set configuration? Love the snappy sound to that bass

For fuck's sake... I have no place in my room for drums, that can be of great use o.o
Always wondered if i can practise drums without drums. Air drumming for instance. Well i can now🤘🏻
Can you play Slipknot's Unsainted with the PocketDrum
Few questions for anyone thats used this.
1. Can it hook up to a speaker so you can play with a guitar player?
How does it sound in your headphones? I have an electric kit and the volume is low in the headphones.
And is this thing really any good?
I'm so glad that you posted this. I don't have room for drums and being disabled this gives me a chance to play around.
Hell yeah dude.
Same here man, I'm a disabled guy too AND My mom won't let me have a Drumkit D:
What kind of disability yall got?!

Ain’t talking shit but just clarifying
Idea: you play these, your neighbors come and tell you to stop playing the drums so loud, you say there's no drums and let them look around, they won't find any drums so they will be confused af.
Assignment misunderstood: they found the sticks and the vibration effect on it
@@Yomomspimp911 Solution: Shove the sticks deeper.

I might actually just pick up one - I do street shows with friends.
@@shapshooter7769 well prepare for some different drumming. It's cool but you have to be real concentrate on where you hitting. The pedals works flawless, but playing disco or funk on hi-hat with sticks it's something to master. Minimal body movements, it's little bit weird, can't actually fully relax your body if beat takes you.. If you know what I mean. Needs practice... though I'm impressed with open/close hi-hat function for something virtual.. There is dynamics sensor... somehow it recognises the strenght of the hit.. really amazing for the buck if you are a drummer. If you not it's more like a toy. The quality is descent, just try not to hit stick on stick, its plastic, but really close to wood feelin. Cheers
bro people will think its fake
Technology these days continues to blow my mind.
Noice! What about sensitivity, dynamics, rimshots, latency?
yes you can play some ghost notes :)
and no, I didn't notice much latency at all!
@@66Samus Cool, thx! 👍🏼
I remember about 17 years ago saying to my friends, 'How cool would it be if you could project a drum kit in front if you and play it!' We literally live in what I wanted the future to be. Man, technology is amazing.
This seems to be working well and might be super practical for some of us drummers out there, but beware the injuries coming from not having a surface to absorb the hits after long sessions using this! Muscles, tendons and joint cartilages are suffering from a lot of stress when hitting on nothing, especially for the wrists and elbows, which have to compensate the lack of surface to stop the motion.
True! I swear everytime I air drum, it hurts haha. Real drums, I'm fine :)
Yeah, because the "rebound" is caused by pulling back away from the hit momentum with your muscles, as opposed to letting it bounce back. The point of most stress is when you're decelerating and accelerating the other way in the shortest time possible, which you can usually rely on surface bounce to greatly assist with.
@@ryo-kai8587 playing paradiddle vr really does suck when it comes to the no rebound part, I knew it was going to be the case though, I just started playing and have to start somewhere xD..
I wonder if you could use this in conjunction with pads. It seems at least theoretically possible since you'll have to calibrate the sticks first.
@@viktormuerte Pretty sure you could, but I don't think the sticks and the electronics inside are made to handle the hits they'll take during the process.
Me, anytime I listen to my metal. One time, at a gig, my air drums were so on point, the drummer told me that he thought I was a real drummer. I had to inform him that not only does my name say DoubleKickChick, and I have amazing air drumming skills, I've never sat in front of a drum kit and played 😅🤘

From: Mack From Home
I ordered one such kit based on this video, and as beginner found it absolutely horrible to practise with. Frequent recalibration needed. Even after calibrations, lot of mis hits on the expected surfaces, because angle of the sticks also matter. Hitting the high hat imaginary surface also triggers crash or tom based on the angle of the stick, which I feel is a big drawback, and very distracting. One stick triggers tom while hitting the imaginary snare surface! May be only my kit had some manufacturing defect! Upon checking with the seller, I agreed to keep the kit only because of the nice kick paddles with a 35% refund.
Same f…ing problem(( A lot of misses((
Wow dude!! Love it. I can’t wait to hear a metal song cover using it.
I own a kit but it would be nice to have this at work or in my apartment
Samus I got the same setup but the calibration is terrible everything kept moving on me, did you have any of these issues at all? Your video was so on point!!
Joinin the regret corner here.
Yep i got the same issues
I got my airdrums with your discount. Its really hard to calibrate it. It doesnt work so smooth like on your video ( tell me that you didnt edit the sound in that video- and its the original audio from what you played) when i am playing kick snare hihat. Its more or less fine. But when I try to go for toms it makes random hits in snare, crash, ride and god knows where else. I hope that I will manage to calibrate it right one day because now Im a bit disapointed, and I bought it only because you recommended it 💔
you need to make sure you're hitting in the right spots! also the toms require a different angle to hit them.
it took me a few hours to get used to it!
@@66Samus does it have a cowbell?
the video is heavily edited and the product doesn't work anything like this
Don’t get any ideas lol😂
If your on a budget just use some chopsticks and imagine the drum sounds in your head! Mine sound great!!!
Dude...my apartment is so small even an electronic kit would take up to much room. But this is perfect. I have an acoustic project that needs only a 4 piece and the main cymbals. So sick!!!
Did you ever end up getting it, how is it?
@@caseykauffman1006 actually awesome....Go on my page and listen to Viking Burial = Revenge is Set....that's me playing all the instruments with bandlab. I USB'd them right in.....
Right so I bought these and I feel it'd be important to point out that it's not the location of the hit that matters, but the ANGLE of the stick - I'm so far not having a lot of luck with them, never getting the right sounds, sometimes it triggers on a stick lift, etc... :( Maybe it takes some time to get used to.
Same experience... I have them for two weeks, played the 3-4 times, did not have the time for more study... Do you see any progress? Like the pedals though.. Wish you could switch the sounds of drums on pedals, not only hi-hat an kick or double kick. Do you know is it possible to change that?
Did you manage to use an app? App is pretty shitty IMHO did not manage to pair one of the foot pedals... Tried on Android and iOS...same sh..
Oh I only messed with them for like 2 hours. It became very apparent very quickly, that this is more gimmick than anything else. I'll be returning them tomorrow. I can think of a dozen of the things to do with 170 bucks then this.

The positioning of say the Snare or any Cymbal etc, to where you are "Air" hitting, can this be shifted be in a few inches, A foot etc back&forth, up/down &still function just fine?
So you’re telling me….. I had to wait 3 months after Christmas to build my first E-Kit (because I sadly moved right after the holidays) in a smaller room then what I had before to start my drumming journey….. when this whole time… I could’ve saved space and started my drumming journey easier, faster and CHEAPER by literally AIR DRUMMING!!!! Hmm, now that I look into it, maybe these are actually 2 separate products. Still, I want them.

1:48 😂😂😂 great video Samus
How the fuck.... as a guitar player, I have been really wanting to learn drums in the last few years. I have also been living in an apartment for quite a while now, so no actual drum set. Was thinking about getting an eletrical drum kit and using headphones, but where the do you put that thing? I don't really have the space for it.
This is such a game changer. Oh my lord.
Imagine being backstage at a show practicing, and you walk in on the drummer air drumming, and sound is actually coming from it
Well... I have one ... And it's cool .... But just not precisely enough if you want to play fast things. More like a toy than a musical instrument
I wonder how this would do at a live gig 🤔
Hey man, this video randomly came across my feed and I honestly thought this was so cool, I impulse-bought the AeroBand a couple days ago.
Just got it, and after tooling around with it, I'm a little disappointed because it seems wildly inconsistent with which "hit" triggers which sound.
Is there a secret sauce to setting up / calibrating so that it can be consistently played?
I'm not a drummer by trade, so this is more for exercise and fun, but it would be great if there was a good method to getting the consistency you seemed to get in this video.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, and stay heavy. 🤘
It definitely took me a bit to get used to where to position the sticks for each drum! I did have to re-calibrate them pretty frequently though.
Did not expect these to work so well!
@J exactly. I was REALLY hoping this would be an honest review and not a shameless ad for money. If theyre so great then why are 90% of the reviews 1 star "doesnt work worth shit"? Way to fleece your fans samus. Smfh
You are right, its really bad… The sounds mix and you have to be calibrating them all the time.@@andrewhunter9119
Why not?
They don't, the video is very edited and even then you can see plenty of moments where it doesn't work well
The new air drumming is cool
I enjoy watching your videos and I also enjoy the funny farts sounds cause I love making fart sounds😂😂😂

They had a waaaaaaay less impressive toy back in the 80s/90s. This is awesome
Hopefully you read this I've looked around and can't find anybody who's done anything like this but could you please do war pigs on that kit
Been wodering if these are good. Most of these things are crap but glad to see somoene finally put out a decent set.
How in the world are you getting super fast doubles on the toms without rebound????
My poor self would like this piece of technology.💀🤘
That's actually really cool. I wonder if it would be able to to simulate double strokes. I assume not because that would be really hard without the bounce but still really cool.
That was my question as well. Throwing a pad into the mix might be a problem as I expect the sticks are not made to withstand the shock of tapping on a surface and they are balanced for air drumming.
Just bought a pair. As someone who travels for a living, it's gonna be sick blasting inside the hotels. 😂
Did you actually end up getting it, how is it?
Just got mine yesterday- works but is kind of wonky- definitely a small learning curve but man are they cool
How so is it wonky? I want to buy as well but wanna know the highs and lows?
a nice first step. when they manage to make the whole thing dynamic to the hits, not just a sample trigger, this will be really cool.
it is dynamic. do you mean the kick and hi-hat pedals?
OMGGGGG I AM BUYING IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!

great, now you can have drums at every campfire party :)
Go along with the campfire guitar
this is the coolest shit ever! I wish this was available the last 10 years where I was forced to live drumless in a tiny apartment... 💩😥
I had a product called Aerodrums a few years ago, it was good it had very good sounds and played very accurately but it was quite clunky as there was plenty of cabling and it relied on a laptop, a PlayStation camera, a bright light, and reflective balls on the end of the sticks and foot pads. Things have come such a long way since then, you can see this product is genuinely very good, -a lot of people think these things are not playable because there is no physical rebound but it’s not an issue they really are fun to use as has just been demonstrated😂
I have it too. But it’s very blinding with the lights. This one is way more portable too.
@@iamfillegYeah this is way better than Aerodrums!
This is SORCERY!!!!! What in the Gandalf in Hogwarts sorcery is this?!?!?!?!?!
I think this can be properly played only by pros like samus who know drums inside and out
The physical kick back from hitting a drum head is the real reason why it's cheaper that a basic e-kit. Just addressing the elephant.
Thats why U dont wanna mess with Hagrid in Harry Potter,, especially when He holds dual wand...
is it weird not having the feedback from impact? or not being able to see the drums at all? This seems like the perfect way to finally start playing but I worry that I'll pick up bad habits and won't realize until I have access to a real kit, by which point it may be too late
Yes, air drumming is a lot different from normal drumming cause there's no rebound. If you're looking to get into/get good at actual drumming, this isn't how you do it. it'd be better just to buy a practice pad and use that.
@@xerox2227 there really aren't any shortcuts 🫣
@@xerox2227 Or play on a pillow so you build up your finger and wrist strength and stick control. Thats how we did it in drum line sometimes.
I wonder if this works well WITH a practice pad though... these + a small practice pad for the snare is still pretty portable / quiet.
@@gargaj I thought about that but since these are designed not to impact anything, I'd imagine they would break before long. Next thought was why not just an electric kit, but that's the whole reason this thing appeals is the idea of not having to try and make a kit work
