Love it mate, love it. I know that happy feeling and I ain't a drummer. I play guitar but when I build my monster PC or got my dream guitar (Ibanex destroyed 2 1983 model one piece of wood, yea the whole guitar in one piece of wood) 😳🤮👹💪🤘 I was this happy. Enjoy brother.
Really awesome! What about putting the hi-hat directly in the center above the toms? I could imagine it's much better to reach that way. I think Danny Carey has a similar setup.

One of the most beautiful kits I've seen, I love that black finish on those drums, and you custom bass drum skins looks amazing. If I could sit behind that kit for 30 minutes and play a few songs I think I'd be in heaven.

I wish pearl would make black rack bars an option. The matte aluminum reflects light too much and obstructs the kit.

Kevin Packard at Pearl is a great guy, and comes up with some really unique rack designs.
I would have just sent you a DM but either RUclips took away that feature at some point or I’m just too stupid to find where they moved it to. Any way you could put me in touch with this guy? Just bought a big new double bass kit like this, have an existing Icon rack and trying to figure out the best way to expand/reconfigure it to accommodate my new setup. Not liking what I’m coming up with myself, maybe he could help me come up with something better.

I remember when I decided to go with a massive Gibraltar rack system. The rack itself only cost about 700 bucks. All the clamps and other shit was like 2500 bucks lol. I do like the square tubing of a Pearl rack though.

Clamps are such a blessing!! I remember when I was playing in my friends band, I bought about 6 clamps attached to 2 cymbal stands and that held my 2 Toms, and a additional 4 cymbals. Easy to take down during practices and gigs

I like the simplicity of the original ICON rack, but there's no denying the new clamps allow for way more creativity.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned it, but for the snare you can use a short rack bar and another RJ100 for the snare basket. That should make it way more sturdy when connected to the rack. Fantastic build!!!

This is completely insane!!! It's my dream kit, I'd love to try that kit someday
Even on a single bass setup, I always love the setup on a double bass drum by having the rack toms (2 rack tom setup) placed right in front of the snare, even if it requires me to need a separate stand or attach a clamp to the crash cymbal's stand. That way I can position the ride cymbal lower (around the same height as the middle portion of the rack tom) and closer towards me (almost halfway above the bass drum). Stage-wise, I feel like it's better that way because I can position myself towards the audience instead of being slightly angled to the left.

I'm still running my 3 sided Icon gen 1 rack. I use the Gibraltar cymbal stands with the memory locks off of the rack. All of my toms are mounted off of my rack as well.

Very, very cool! I never liked the Pearl racks, but I think I might be changing my mind. I've used Gibraltar for a couple of decades with homemade pipes from car exhaust pipes-then I could get them at any length I wanted-but Pearl makes some awesome gear!

Nooice! Those pure alloy customs are pure beauty. I put together my kit just about a year ago and I really didn't even think about a rack! It was the first time I had the opportunity to set up a real drum set in 20 years. I just didn't know anything about them! Damn now I'm gonna have to think about this. I also really love the DW tripod cymbal stands though. It was what I saw set up in guitar Center, using the tom mounts on the stand It's tricky I like them all.
I love singing "Joy to the Chode" at Christmas time.

If you're going to leave the rocket toms on the same plane as the rest of the rack toms (and you most definitely should), might I suggest moving the remote hats into more of a central location (perhaps between the splashes)? That would prevent you from hyper-extending your arm whilst crossing over. I don't do a lot of two-handed hi hat playing, so that works for me. YMMV.

If it was possible to post photos, I would have shown you my old Pearl set from the 80s. It looked NOTHING like this :) But it was blue... until I my "Prince"-period hit. Then I sprayed it purple. Your set - awesome!
