Karnivool is a five-piece progressive rock group based in Perth, Australia that was formed by Ian Kenny in 1996, who at the time filled the roles of both guitarist and vocalist for the band while they played Carcass and Nirvana covers. Their name stems from the band being initially described by local fans as "a bunch of clowns". Their style of music can be classified as both progressive rock and alternative rock, with alternative metal undertones. Major influences of the band are Nirvana, Radiohead, Meshuggah, Pink Floyd, Tool, Soundgarden and Carcass. Critically hailed as being one of the establishing bands for the Australian progressive rock and metal movement, Karnivool are considered amongst the few in Australia's rapidly growing music industry to still be bringing new and refreshing material to their catalog.
Saw them in South Africa and they honestly blew me away. It is the best feeling seeing your favourite band live. Thanks again gents for an unforgettable experience and being such nice dudes!
Where was this band all my life?
These guys were like 26/27 when they wrote this album. I know coz I'm the same age as Drew/Kenny. Simply fucking amazing. Actually probably as young as 24 when they started writing it
Saw these dudes in Brisbane on Wednesday night... So amazing. Ian is the most amazing vocalist. Brilliant.
Amazing musicianship.
Damn the crowd can even keep time when clapping, that's a first (ha ha ha!!!). Leave it to the Aussie's to do something right!
Love Karnivool!
Operation Agatha thanks for watching
Moshcam Thank you for posting the vid!
this made me laugh vvvvvvvvveeeerrrrrrrrrry hard :D
That clapping around 5:40 is TERRIBLE. I think they only clap correctly (although slightly ahead) at the beginning because the drums are keeping the beat.
emotional revelation- 3:31 nice to see the relevance of the music to the artist
Omg, it's my favorite part of the song too!
Maybe he just had a bad curry before the gig and he was like holding on...
