As a certified toneologist I can easily say you have something special here. The playing is ok and everything but the tone is very special and very one of a kind here in this piece. It’s not necessarily Hendrix sounding but it is definitely a signature tone.
Yeah Petrucci’s tone was special in the 90s it made him play more inspiring stuff than nowadays with all his signature gear he lost his signature sound and fell uninspired to me at least.

Sorry but metal is where it's at. It doesn't matter how good a guitar player is if the songs he plays are lame, then not interested. I prefer music that I can take to the gym.
