John Petrucci performs Glasgow Kiss | G3 Live in Tokyo | Front Row Music
• John Petrucci performs...
Best version of Glasgow Kiss ever. I keep coming back to this version.
Yes
Who is the original version by?
Yeah! And with the best drummer. This version that took me to the album, I met her first.
@@gulpix From John Petrucci himself. He refers to this live version, opening of G3 Live in Tokyo, in relation to the one on the album (Suspended Animation).
@@ismaelserpa ok thanks man
One guitar one bass one drum. Each one a master. ❤️
Exactly ❤️🙏
There's actually quite a bit more than one drum there.
Because other bands have 2 basses and 12 drums?
I mean they do have 12 drums
Indeed
@@Fuck_handles The rhythm guitar makes a big difference tbf especially in the world rock and metal. But the three managed to make a good rock/metal song without it.
That improvised solo might just be one of the best things I've ever heard. So much feel, precision, and melodic mastery.
Fully agreed
I love Petrucci and Satriani. Satriani can write tens of mind boggling songs, more than Petrucci can. But I don't think Satriani would be able to come up with something like this monster of an improvised Glasgow Kiss solo.
JP and MP look like the maths and physics teacher of a school
Indeed brother they are fucking legend
Hahahaha
The teachers you want
@@VHDT10 the teachers we all want, the teachers we all need
19 years ago...
I was a high school kid, trying to learn a few scales on guitar 😢
I was in 4th grade, knowing nothing about music except few Hindi songs because of radio 🙃
MasyaAllah
2:40 I still love this line after 13 years
Best guitarist of all time.
Fact
One of them, Van Halen, Vai, Satriani, Morse, ecc ecc
Jp and mp is the ultimate combination! We are living in a good times to get to see them together again
Just the single note change at 4:34 really made that lick fantastic. I love the original too, but that is so satisfying to me
My favorite performance of this. I have watched this thousands of times
God!, This man is not human
Best version of this song. The improvisation to this song is just mind blowing.
LaRue doesn’t get enough recognition in my opinion. He is an excellent talent on the bass.
Everything that ever happened is underrated hey
that's stu hamm. (i now know that it isn't stu hamm)
@@toddritter5638 lol. That's probably why he doesn't get recognition then 😂
@@toddritter5638 what about Stu Hamm? If you are saying the bassist performing with Petrucci is Hamm then you are mistaken. I know who Stu Hamm is. I have his solo stuff and have seen him live many times, mostly with Satriani. He is another incredibly talented bassist who doesn’t get enough recognition.
@@georgefustos7243 damn he really looks like him though. i sit corrected. he even plays a similar bass. good taste!
Saw this when it first came out and I've never forgotten it. Finally watching again a little over 15 years later.
Most rich , delightful and perfect solo ever , You simply can't add anything , this solo is filled with everything it needs
The absolute masterpiece forever. Thanks God I live in the times of the great John.
This live was the best in every version that I've ever heard. Not to be missed!
Personally I think he was at his peak here. Great player.
MP fills in is just purely gorgeous. Compliments the song well.
I wore this G3 VHS out as a kid
Dave LaRue rippin away on the bass in the background. Saw this guy with Planet X back in the day …absolute savage 😮
That's fantastic.
Best version of Glasgow Kiss of recording studios
That bass sounds amazing
I heard this song live in Barcelona and it blew my mind, it's really incredible. G3 rules
I remember having this cassette. this version is really awesome..!!
me too. :)
Saya cuma punya DVD bajakan nya bro 😅
mesa amps just have that pleasant snarling sound to them that you can really hear in the chorus of this song
I really like how MP look like high school physics teacher
I Saw This Tour Of G-3 And It Was Amazing! John's Playing Was Crisp Clean And Amazing!!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
He is a really great lead guitarist in the world 🎸🪕🎸
6:47 goosebumps
I've touched myself for the first time with this song. Sweet memories...
Tf is your problem
@@paulpv7 it wasn't a problem
One of the best solo of JP. You played it very well man! Your student must have been very impressed! Keep it up! Looking forward for more dream theater stuffs!
Buff John with long hair is my favorite iteration. So good
The music during this era was so good
JP in his prime! No denying it
Yeap! The guitar tone is just amazing! Alt picking is awesome as well:)
I saw him live a few months with Dream Theater and he's still as sharp as a fine Japanese blade!
ทุกวันนี้ยังฟังอยู่ ชอบมาก สุดยอดครับ
ฟังได้ แต่เล่นได้แค่ท่อนเปิด 😂
From all the G3 concerts I saw (Live and DVD), JP's solo is simply the best! From 6:29 I went crazy! 😍🎸👌JP on 🔥 Also respect to the great bass and drums player
This song is a beautiful composition.
es el mejor John Peter Petrucci ... y aqui lo demuestra 🦾
Un grand Guitariste parmi les Grand !!! Vu aux Arènes de Nîmes ou je bossai en tant que Électro . Merci M Petrucci et vos musiciens !!!
Amazing.. Waiting your coming back to Jakarta
I saw them in 2002 in the first G3 that John Petrucci joins, but not so close to this performance.
I remember because the end of his gig, something happened in the John's gear, in the medley "Paradigm Shift/Erotomania", that start the song again.
Genio extraordinario....forever petrucci
Goosbumps and tears both ... i dont know what to say .... 😍
JP's best performance
John's best looks
peace in ear and brain ..boss of melody ❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹
Buenas tardes
Para mí Jhon Petrucci es de lo mejor
I really also enjoyed the bass. It was awesome too
All time favorite of mine
This is what i call art❤❤❤🎉
After ten years of listening.to thiis. First time I listen to it whole. Second and third time i listen from 3minutes.
Love that bass line around 2:50
Best version..
Glasgow 💋
No additional player just Trio 🤘
This performance got me into guitar playing.
It made me quit.
Me too. John motivated me from the start
@@moustachio334 I picked up the guitar after stopping playing for 6 years when I heard this song. Man, it's so inspirational.
@@DaveTastexd
This one got me into metal 16 years ago! Good times...
You can actually hear a pick noise when he pulls out speed picking.🔥
He still young . Omg
Kerenn ... om jhon peatrucia.. akku dan dia🕵🤖 mengagumi dirimuu... dan instrumen miusik.nya sangatttt....😍😋😎😍😘😘😆😆😆😗😇😇😇🤗🤗🤗😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
This is when John Petrucci hit legendary status
Appreciate the Bassist too, saluteeee !!!
I love so much how the drummer moves 😅
They were so young ...
I had this theme on CD-RW disc before RUclips was even invented)
Great
Yeah me too. It means I'm old 😂
Me too dude 😅
I love the part when they sang
Wild song and an exercise in endurance.
I couldn't imagine doing all that exercise!
@@frontrowmusic The exercise isn't that hard. The string skipping alternate picking he does at the beginning is very simple if you're somewhat skilled in guitar, take it slow and it's fine. The hardest part strangely is remembering the massive amount of song in between
When u want ti trained your alternate picking this is the perfect song
Aduhh mantepppp...😅😅😅😄😄😄😃😃😃😂😁🤗😇😇😇😇😇😇🤗🤗🤗🤗😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
Christ, it's just as much about the rhythm section as it is the awesomeness of jp. 😮
Damn, didn't know Ben Stiller did John Petrucci covers.
You're excused brah
Is it just me or does this piece have a Steve Morse feel? And Dave LaRue was SM bass player for years. An outstanding combo here.
the sound is top notch..thank for your upload this Sir👍🤘
this beathfull song... happy my brotherrr
This is the best cleanest version
Shit gets perfect about halfway through
Im like Ingway ..Shreding ang Swefaking in Arpegio amazing
Thanks for sharing this video once again
c'est un tueur !
Kelak Aku akan main bass dan John main melody lagu Glasgow kiss ini, trus lagu smoke on the water bersama john dan steve vai

Best presentation!
Amazing Song

Mike never knew he'll make a whole band with LaRue and wait, not any band, FLYING COLORS ladies and gentlemen.
sublime quel solo
I like this instrumen... Nice..
The best....end.
He’s the best ever. He really is.
Best version
❤ for the bass player
Love from India❤
I watched this on my dad's DVD player when i was 9. A core memory of mine that introduced to guitar and prog rock.
Mine was something similar, but I had an Mp4 player which had this on, I downloaded this by accident but was blown away by it and got me hooked on guitar ever since
All some its was amazing👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤
Perfect mastering !

Que top lembro que o guitarrista da igreja tinha esse dvd me mostrou os monstros da guitarra

Strong Steve Morse influence 😊
