Looks like you did not pruning the side vines for the plants. They are too dense. You need to cover the cauliflower with leaves like wrapping the top with leaves and put a little stone on it. Otherwise they will turn purple.
I hope your family there appreciates all that you've done with the garden and all the wonderful produce you've gotten! Some setbacks are expected and that's OK. You're a hard worker and you've done really well for the first year!
Miriam, there's no need to feel sad. It's just a little setback. Now you know how not to do it. You've done a Great job. So rejoice and enjoy your hard work. Be happy!
Lovely garde. It's not too late to grow ginger and bitter melon. The aroma in both the leaves are amazing and something people don't get to appreciate at the shops.
The background music accompanying the clip is so pleasing to the ear, such a pleasant experience watching this clip! Miriam is such an artistic lady; when I watch her clip, I see ART, even the vegetables she places on the basket look so artistic! 😊
It's amazing. You have grown so much vegetables in just couple of months. Good job. Just wondering if you remove the covering of green house so that the temperature can be cooler.
I made the same mistake, it's just the humidity that breaks the treads. Happens. I used coated metal thread the next year and it went just fine. The Humulus Aurora weighs a ton but is still hanging on a two-year-old metal-coated thread. Sew the beans in spring to eat the tops, a delicacy, then plant different things in its place. Beans grow way better outside than inside where they burn and get molt from the heat. If this is the only mistake you're doing just fine Miriam. I am a Pattison lover, all my plants made male flowers because of the heat and rain. No Pattisons this year alas. Us gardeners suffer do we XD
I think you should forgo the idea of having a greenhouse in the summer. It seems your garden outside the greenhouse provides enough produce to last the summer anyway (the first harvest). In the winter however, turn your entire garden into one giant greenhouse (if you can). By this way, you'll have veggies throughout the year. For the climbing plants, i've seen people use bamboo sticks or any sticks and tie them together into tripods and place them over the growing plants. The plants will climb up the tripods and therefore eliminating the need to tie the labor intensive strings. They climbing plants treat the tripods like another plant which they can cling to whereas with strings they cannot.
With the health dangers and political strife in the world these days it is a pleasure to enjoy a short visit Miriam & family. Sansan has become such a big boy. My little 3 year old grandson loves to work in the garden too. Thank you to Miriam for sharing her life with us.
Miriam, I am your super fan. Your videos are inspiring and amazing. Everytime I see you videos, I feel comfortable and peaceful.Thank you! Expect your next update!
its a beautiful garden, I hope having a garden like that. In southern china, farmers usually use bamboo sticks for vegetables such as string beans, peas etc, very simply, bamboo sticks can be always removed and reused easily. I believe the greenhouse is hot during summer. if you have to work inside for a while, try to do jobs in the evening when temperature goes down.
My dear Miriam, your garden is beautiful. You have not failed. Look at the abundance around you. This year has been hard for gardens all over the world. I'm envious of what you've achieved in your first year. Do not loose heart. If you want less weeds then try mulching your garden. We have a decent size garden and never have to deal with weeds or worry about drought because of heavy mulch. It will help cut your workload some. Consider using recycled fabric strips rather than string or rope in your greenhouse, its gentler on the plants and stronger. Sending love from our family in Canada to yours.
Congratulations on the success of your abundant garden. I wouldnt consider any of your experience as failure, so much as lessons which abundance presents itself to you. I’m present to how and why so many farming communities developed drying and fementing as ways to preserve their harvest into winter when fresh produce is scarce. There are a couple of Chinese RUclips videos I watch along with yours that are also of farming but also show a lot of drying and fermenting, and wild foraging. I wont list them here out of respect to you without your permission. Gardens are always growing, thus changing the landscape including any human structures we may put up. My husband keeps trying to build “permanent” structures but I refuse them. I love to live with the changing nature of Nature, and finding ways to make use of it all.
I'm sorry for the failure of the green house, but with your hard work to fix it. Hopefully soon it'll bear a fruitful satisfaction. Thank you for your new video with love ♥️💝♥️
We learn from our mistakes, hopefully the ones you've saved will be fine. I've had a few failures this year too, I didn't think the radishes enough and the cucumber plants were too close together. Well there's always next year. Love watching your videos
Wow beautiful bountiful garden and as always awesome cinematography...Looking forward to your preserving/ drying how to's also. Love beets! Pickled beets are really yummy too :)
You are such a unique , amazing ,strong lady I have ever seen who grew up in western culture and enjoying in Chinese culture keep it up!!! RUclips did nt recommended your video thts sad I have to visit your profile everytime Time to watch your video!!
Oh what a great pity Miriam, I'm so, so sorry but who could have imagined what had happened with those bad ropes and the heated metals!!! There is a very easy and absolutely beetroot salad recipe I was tought by a German lady. After cooking the beetroots (the have to be rather soft) cut them in thin slices and season just with two ingredients only: vinegar (even better if it's apple vinegar but any one would be fine) and sugar. Try the quantities beginning with not too much vinegar and a somewhat generous sugar. After one or two hours you'll have the most delicious and juicy salad. The taste of the beetroot changes completely with those two ingredients. You won't believe it. That salad accompanied buy some not too hard boiled eggs or eggs mollee at the side, I'm sure SamSam will love it because of the colours and the adults as well, but don't mix the beetroots and the eggs, keep them separately. The music in the video was a pleasure Miriam.
Your veggie garden still looks beautiful. I lost several of my herb plants, because we had so much rain in august. I love your dresses could you give me your info from where you buy them? Thank you.
Very beautiful video! I am looking for the video of garden about the vegetables right now. Your video helps me in English.I live in Canada and I also plant some vegetables in my backyard. Helpful! Thank you!
Amazing garden. I stopped planting vegetables a few years ago. I have many fruit trees and flowers, but planting vegetables is too much of a work for me.

It's not a failure. Just a setback, and a valuable lesson learned.
I love the greenhouse...I wish I own one....organic vegs ..pluck n eat..no need to worry about pesticides...that's what I wanted so much.

Lovely garde. It's not too late to grow ginger and bitter melon. The aroma in both the leaves are amazing and something people don't get to appreciate at the shops.
The peas like cooler weather. Probably too hot in greenhouse for peas this time of year.
Home cooked meal is always the best !

Things happen, but you still have an amazing garden! :)

大棚里面实在太闷热了,小心中暑。感觉有些东西不用种在大棚里面,不过第一年嘛,这样很棒了。
真是大丰收了 That's quite a harvest
Great work 😍😍
Aside from drying to preserve the vegetables, do you pickle the vegetables? Nothing can be fresh harvest and eating fresh. You made me hungry 😋
