Could the crack on the IC be repaired/welded?
Nice install and make more videos on the Solstice / Sky.
Niccce! I’ve been wanting to pick this intercooler up! Good info! Love the car! I subbed and got that bell on!
Glad it helped you! Thanks for the sub :)
just saw some of your vids too, you got my sub keep up the good work:)
This is great to see what is going on up front with air charge cooling. Can you keep the OEM intake plumbing with this larger intercooler?
I wouldn't see why you couldn't keep the stock charge pipes. However one of the reason i got the aftermarket ones is because they are supposed to not cause as much turbulence in the air since the stock ones have some "aggressive" bends.
@@Fisherman1827 Yeah, I just did a video with the A/C compressor and did see the stock intake plumbing is 'squashed' a bit to get it to fit the engine bay. I just like the stock look and sound of the factory air box. Good video!
Well I think you could just get the charge tubes and not get the cold air intake ddm has different color options too from what I remember
I got the rpm on my SKY I can’t believe that the Hann is even bigger
nice :) yeah its pretty damn huge lol
I have the same problem on the same car. Could you send me the link to buy the same one as you?
keep in mind that a larger IC demands more forced air to reach the same pressure levels in the intake mani. sometimes, bigger is not better, sometimes you just need "stronger", such as with the stock IC which has weak welding and thin walls. hahn IC only barely fits into the fascia, and leaves the charge tubes offset from one another.
you should invest in hptuners before you get too far along. here you are replacing parts but you don't even have diagnostic logs of what is going on inside your engine. we stopped running Trifecta after blowing two engines (over three kappas.). now we tune and log, swap a part? tune and log, tune and log, tune and log. doesn't matter what it is. if you're not retuning after a part swap, and the tune isn't based on actual log data, you're just rolling dice and calling it good.
as for that hahn IC, i ran the same thing on my first solstice for a while but eventually went with a smaller IC. did not have to grind/cut/melt anything to get it to fit.
great video, hope you keep publishing.
Very good information!
Great info and are you in the forums? What power and times are you putting down with your Solstice or Sky?!
Do you have the part number the cover that goes underneath the intercooler? The gxp I have do3snt have one and I just got the Werks intercooler installed, I dont want rocks damaging it. If you could help me out I'd appreciate it
Hi! I believe this is what you are talking about www.gmpartsonline.net/oem-parts/gm-lower-bracket-25817337?c=Zz1ib2R5JnM9YnVtcGVyLWFuZC1jb21wb25lbnRzLWZyb250Jmw9Mzcmbj1Bc3NlbWJsaWVzIFBhZ2UmYT1wb250aWFjJm89c29sc3RpY2UmeT0yMDA3JnQ9Z3hwJmU9Mi0wbC1sNC1nYXM%3D If not you can navigate that website and should be able to find what your looking for :)
Thank you I've been looking for this everywhere, I dont need any other plastic parts to connect to that piece right?
@@CUbanageNT_24 Here you can see all other parts in the bumper assembly. www.gmpartsonline.net/v-2007-pontiac-solstice--gxp--2-0l-l4-gas/body--bumper-and-components-front Im not sure what you have or dont have. You will need a few of those push type clips to hold in that piece
You’ve earned a subscriber bro! Are you on the owners groups on Facebook by any chance?
Thanks man :) Yeah I'm on a few of the Solstice groups on facebook
Cool! I just joined two of them, I’ll see you on there!
@@brucesabatoni3410 great :)
Bisogna rimappare la centralina?
Was hoping you'd cover fascia removal. I used to tear the entire front end off my '70 A-body to do work but...this ain't no A-body
Hey 👋 I would’ve recorded the process of removing the bumper but I didn’t know I was making a video until I saw the cracked intercooler. It’s not too bad but can be a little tricky the first time so I looked through some forums for you and hopefully this helps you out. (I don’t removed my wheel or disconnect the entire wheel well/fender liner, you can just sneak a little wrench in there and maybe turn the wheels for a little more clearance.) www.justanswer.com/pontiac/6gj5e-pontiac-solstice-gxp-remove-front-bumper-2007-solstice.html?r=impact%7C10078%7COnline+Tracking+Link&clickid=RaD0mr1HIxyLWhAwUx0Mo3YrUkEV8wzxQ3bTRk0&aff_sub_id=solsticeforum.com&aff_sub_id2=130832X1604694Xa5e4649f43edc9d0aa81cba50b94c436&aff_sub_id3=&aff_sub_id4=&irgwc=1

@@bbb462cid You're welcome :)
I want to remove the CAT on my car can you explain how I can do this safely and if I do remove the CAT will this destroy the car ?
I have stock exhaust and muffler will this make my car super loud ?
Hey 👋 in this video: ruclips.net/video/cKV93IIrHVw/видео.html I install my exhaust and a highflow cat, which in my research showed to lead to more hp than running a catless setup. It may be a little louder but I don't think it will make much of a difference in noise seeing you have the stock exhaust :)
removal of cat will not destroy these cars, but you will want an O2 bung and need to retune for the change in O2 readings off the exhaust mani or you risk running too lean (hindering the ECM from optimizing performance.) the chop/backpressure from the turbo dulls the exhaust notes, so it wouldn't be as loud as a NA straight pipe off the exhaust mani (it's much quieter.)
cost vs. performance, you could spend that money elsewhere for greater performance gains, straight pipe exhaust doesn't really improve Kappa performance (negligible HP gains, near-zero torque gains.) you're talking about a cost vs. performance of hundreds of dollars "per 1 hp." -- but if you've run out of things to spend money on, why not?
@@sexyplexie I'm not absolutely sure, but from what I've heard, the first O2 measures for AFR (broadband), the 2nd O2 is just for measuring the efficiency of the cat. I don't think the 2nd O2 affects or risks running lean. It may throw a code of course and should get a bung, tune (to delete), etc.
