Hey, glad to see some more content for the Kappa platform in general! Literally received my new coolant tank today and there was your video.

It's really lacking so I'm trying to do my part and put some content out there. These kappas are super fun to work on and the goal is to keep them on the road as long as we can! Good luck with the tank and don't forget to purge it!

Thank you for making a video on this. It gave me confidence to tackle this on my own. My Solstice runs hot in the summer and the bottom of the radiator is bending. So definitely going to give that a shot. Thank you again!

Once you get all the plastic out of the way, it's a pretty quick and simple process, this was one of my early videos so hopefully you can make it through the terrible sound quality haha. Just be careful with the condenser AC lines which are on the front of the radiator

@@GearHeadzGarageUSA Thank you Sir! Should I do the water pump at the same time? I imagine you have a lot more room to work work after the condenser and radiator is out.

@@colindubord4239yeah, do everything you can while you're down there. If you're going to do the water pump you might as well. Also, do the timing chain tensioners those are notorious for going out as they're plastic. It's a pretty easy process on that ecotec motor. There's a lot of videos out there for timing chain DIY, but that's one of the best things you can do since you're already going to have everything pulled out

What problem was solved by replacing the expansion tank with a GM one? Mine tends to overflow even though it does not seem to be overheating. Does a new tank fix that? thanks

So there's a few things that it can fix, the system relies on pressure, so if its not building pressure its not properly cooling. On the other hand if the system is building to much and you are having blow by on the overflow tube you more than likely have a head gasket issue. It may not be overheating but the situation will get worst if that is the case. If you are having excessive coolant loss and blow by it may be time to dig deeper.
Additionally, hard hot starts and easy cold starts are a key example of problems arising. If your anywhere over 215 its time to look into it.
Hope this helps keep us posted!

Is there anything in that car you can replace without taking half of the car apart?😂
