balance is horrid. no one is planting trees that take a year to grow, building facility for it, dedicating workers, all that to get 3 logs after an eternity of prep from 1 tree.
what they need to do is let forests grow back on their own, and increase the amount of logs farmed from each tree. if they want people to play the game that is.
and they have to adjust a lot of things in same manner.
Agree. Some of the mechanics are too real to be in a game. Its not efficient.

They are going to have to adjust the rates for sure, 30 gold for a seed is crazy for one and then the time needed to regrown seems way to long and hard.
@@karlschafer1715 like the raised platforms on all t3 buildings... Like, "dude i know ur house is fancy but can i just do things immediately without climbing over" lol. I just built my town hall about to build inn and warehouse when i get to the game.
Yeah let those tree stumps grow back into trees and have new saplings spawn on those "forest" locations in the map. This is a game were playing not some VR simulation lol. Some of them are just too real to be in a game. We cant waste too much time for that. Hence the word "grindy".
The tree seeds aren't about the availability of wood.. It's about the aesthetics. People like trees. An easier solution would have been to just let us mark certain trees we want to keep standing as un-harvestable, like an actual forester does. But whatever...
If you're worried about your wood, then don't worry. Wood is practically unlimited once you can start trading with Padstow. In fact all you have to do is craft torches out of single pieces of wood(worth 1 gold in trade), and you can use the torches to trade for the logs at a trade value of 18 gold per torch. Each log will give you 5 pieced of wood, so you can take one log(worth 4 gold in trade) and turn it into the equivalent of 90 gold for trading. Not only is the accumulation of wood essentially free from Padstow, it's profitable. I can take a few logs from the dozen or so I trade for every day, convert them to torches, and pay for all my trades in every other city as well. I don't even make my settlers cut wood anymore, all my trees are sacred!

yes, Im buy it from there, but they're still right... they messed up the lvl3 inn again, it's better than it was, now don't burn the meat :) and mushroom but 2 cauldron -1 buged yeah....
foraginghut I don't know if it was repaired before? It had to be dismantled because everything was dried
In reality why didn't they make it so the sampling would turn into young trees and then into old trees, you chop down an old tree they drop seedlings into the ground.
I'm using way more wood than Padstow can sell me atm so trees around the already built camps would be great as I dont have to move them or build a new one.
@@WombatGaming Yeah, I admit this I wrote from a standpoint of end game maintenance.. Early/mid game, Padstow trading definitely can't sustain the building needs for logs, but it definitely does help.
On a side note, I have also noticed that after starting a new game, I can't command my companions to eat from storage. I don't know if this has anything to do with the food bags or staging area, but I definitely have yet to successfully command any companion to select food and eat on command from a storage area. I love EA!
EDIT: Never mind, it seems to be working now. Not sure what my earlier problem was. They do seem to access storage units for food at stage intervals now though, so maybe I was just being impatient before in hammering the command key.. Anyway, it's working for me again.

@@WombatGaming ooh just got a tree seed from cutting down a young tree for wood (patch notes read to me as though you got them when harvesting saplings instead)
Also, just found that my peops gather tree seeds at the Lumberjack
Maybe they changed the seed drop rate since this video, but I'm not having any problems getting them. I have a couple logging outposts, and I'm swimming in seeds that my NPCs have picked up while logging. Seems to be about the same rate as flax or hemp, for instance. Also, 4-5 in game days for tree regrowth seems to make sense, since entire seasons are only a couple game days as well. The balance seems pretty decent, considering its a brand new mechanic.

They only drop from saplings. It's in the patch notes. I am guessing they will change this thou. Yes 30 gold per seed is crazy lol

They said you must start the game from the beginning for all the stuff to work with the testing branch update, they said failure to do so will break the game.
I just made sure I did a backup of my save files. All worked fine!
Oof the purpose why we want trees to grow back is to avoid relocating our lumbermills over and over. Also personally kinda feels sad to see a once lush forest turn into a barren wasteland lol. Forester takes unnecessary long time to grow trees kinda not worth doing it tbh. We'll see what happens.
I assumed the food bag was a default slot like the recent tools bag. Except its a new craftable pouch. No biggie.
Yes I am hoping they reword the Forester seems to be to slow IMO
I have found that the mods corrupt my save game with this update. I had to remove them

Could be right, thou I dont really want my harvesting hut to focus in wood just to get seeds, I have other building for wood so seems like a waste of man power, plus a 3% drop chance for the seeds
@@WombatGaming i mean we gotta start somewhere and the tier 1 hut have wood orders too. But as a not new player, id probably just go cut down more trees instead of waiting for that sapling to grow. Ofc ill build the forester but im not waiting for that to get more logs.

Since this patch has gone mainstream I'm having issues with broken items. I have a delivery setup to bring broken items back to my main base but they are not getting repaired. I put them in the tool maker's storage under manage and they either just sit there or workers move them to weapon racks. Is anyone else having this issue?
I also noticed in deliveries when you search for broken items, the list returns armors. I hope they are not planning on our armor degrading over time like weapons. That will become a management nightmare to deal with that as well.

do you know if they still dry the fruits in the foaring lodge lvl3? not put it down,they were all dried on lvl2 lodge, i destrojed.....

I've been having seeds show up in my stockpile from my workers. I don't have a logging camp yet so I presume they're getting it from either breaking logs down into wood or cutting down young trees

@@David-nk3kq I liberated it as the second one you will suffice in food aswell and leather and hide I think it’s the best city to have. You can feed the entire village meat to be strong

Noticed your Quiver has 6 slots. Is it because you have Archery 10/10, is it an tier 3 item or what so?

I'm not a math teacher but either the notes at 10:55 are incorrect or I'm not understanding them. 30 grains should make 25 flour at a 6:5 ratio
It says 6 grain PER flour and the output at the windmill PER CRAFT is 5 flour. So you need 30 grains per craft.
It doesn't say anywhere that the ratio is 6:5.
30 grains will give you 5 flour which is 6:1 ratio.

@@WombatGamingI moved my base as I hit tier 2 by building my town hall in a different location, took 30 in game days.
@@WombatGaming i did the same when i hit T3, but now al my trade's are going to my starter base.
setting up an army takes some time to as you have to go true al the menu's
