THANK YOU! Some of these tips are priceless! The game so often will tell you to do something ... without even hinting at HOW you do it. I love this game so far, it is like SKYRIM and VALHEIM had a baby ... but I hate how much I have needed to look things up on the internet. Most information should be accessible IN GAME!
There's a bug on the small game traps. If it's broken, you can just disassemble it, and it will be fully repaired in your inventory. Then, just place it back on the ground.
If you're playing this game the way it's meant to be played. You're using your books on npcs and yourself and any npc that you use a book on you can later exile them from your colony and get even more renowned back than you hired them for in the first place. The more skill ups they have, the more renowned you get back.
Thanks SO much for the video! It helped me a bunch. I am totally on board with the crouch idea. I would also like to see a change with the scrap problem. You need so much of it to advance, but you can't unlock a way to make it without having it. I started my village just to the East, across the road from your village because I thought it would be closer to the mining area, but the biggest reason was the proximity to the water source. Reeds become so important and the lake to the southeast was the best I could find.
yes! the first fast travel sign i've built in all of my new saves is one right next to that water, easy access to reeds and a merchant to buy one strap a day!
Friendly tip about the skill book! You don’t actually have to r-click the book, just going to your attributes page will have the associated skill + button available if that book is in your inventory. Think the same would apply to companions but haven’t checked yet. Thanks for video! Love the “H” key tip
yeah just take all books to your inventory -> click N -> click on first villager -> atributes -> choose what to level up -> click R for next villager and continue. BTW really nice tips helps a lot to someone that placed first mining camp in the middle of the village and was furious that his vills dont mine any copper and tin xD
The concern of many is Snail Games having a many years history of 'hooking' gaming consumers on a 'potential' basis, then just ignoring game development production towards not completing said game development for a complete out of early access product. I'm on the fence. The most recent is Last Oasis with a 50-60 approval rating for that reason.
As the game stands right now, I would say it is worth the $26 I paid for it. Fun game with a lot of potential, 3 patches/updates already since release which is a good sign. Hopefully they see this through.
@@the_dorkness I totally get it. I've been around a bit. I levy this thoughtfulness over years of what other such games have provided in the past. Survival games. It was interesting for me to look back; 1300 hours in Wurm, 1100 hours in Empyrion, 960 Hours in Ark, 670 hours in Valheim, 130 Hours in Kingdom Come, 54 hours in Sons of the Forest, 50 hours in The Forest, for some.
I really like this game. We got it yesterday and already have 20 hours in it. Well worth it. Lots of fun. And thank you for this tips and tricks video. Will help me on my next build. As far as changes, I agree that "Deer Hunting", IMO, is very poor and also, no antlers have dropped yet on any deer we've killed in order to complete a quest. I also think there should be a hot button to change from bow to shield as changing it during battle is very cumbersome.
my 2 cents on storage: I generally end up with 20 storage camps maxed with resources. Camp boxes are useless. When you unlock Tier 2, the sheer amount of resources you need to build is staggering. Before I build the village hall, I store up 100+ logs, 200+wood planks, wood, thatch, and have generally 50+ rope, cord, etc.
If you disassemble something you only get half of your resources back, Sometimes when your Inventory. Is full, it will just put it in the nearest stockpile
_Always_ get multiple foods with you - it brings bonus Stamina. So eat some berries AND a meat, you'll get a *huge* boost in Stamina and health. This especially helps before a fight or a long trip.
Nice content. I’m loving the game. I wish I could sneak too. Some things I would polish access to the camp fire. I spend more time than is necessary to get my stews going. The mining nodes need to tell us when it won’t yield any more 😅. Been banging away on this Tin forever. 😂 40 hours in on day 50 and I’m not confident on the priority system and assignment of villagers. Doing a lot of science but it’s still fun. 🎉
Holy moly this was SO helpful! I'd love more videos on tips and tricks for this game becouse it has a LOT of little intricasies that are lost on me. Like how do i make the best use of outposts or have goods from a faraway mining camp delivered to my main settlement.
Thanks! I’m enjoying the game so far and taking my time to discover the game mechanics mostly on my own. I especially like the way you give a few tips without spoiling the fun of figuring stuff out. One of the things that has me stumped, though, is where to see my coin. After visiting the herbalist and selling some mushrooms I searched for my coin tally. I must be missing something important (and probably obvious.) Is there a guide to the interface somewhere?
I'd like to see the progression re-worked so that I don't require the level of weaponry and armor to take on the horde which comes once I build the belltower -- which I'm building so that I can recruit an apprentice I need to acquire the higher level gear. It feels like a mob of peasants going up against an army.
The current version of the game is this odd transition from solo to Leader. You are not supposed to be hunting on your own, your supposed to build a community and have the NPC do the hunting, so it doesn't matter how hard it is to hunt and fight, your not supposed to solo the shit out of it. As you can see from what I wrote, my take is that we need better tools to handle the transition to leader/quester mode, at the moment a big tier 1 village is hell, tier 2 is insanity trying to organize a billion setting on a million different buildings, we don't need a better way to hunt deer solo, we need a better way to organize our village to hunt deer. (Done with the tier 2 hunting hut, but it can be hard to know if any game is in range.) Games is mostly solo or management, all the games that combine solo with management fail at making good management system, they just make a solo interface that gets madly overloaded when you have to organize 40 workers.

In the article I found, they laid it out like "we can either close the company or move on to a new game" Luckily Bellwright isn't a live service game, so once it's done we'll have it forever
I dunno what people are talking about. I have 244 hours in Last Oasis and had a great time with it.
