I dropped $120 on this when it came out and never tried for a refund because I assumed they would send out patches… Obviously that worked out well for me
2k should have lost any right to control what yukes was doing. That THQ was out of business at that time. I think yukes wanted to not put it on switch. Being forced by the parent company 2k.
Nah let not blame the Switch for 2K18 not being great, blame 2K itself. Why is it that Doom (2016), Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus and The Witcher 3 are playable from start to finish. Yes graphically they are not impressive but the fact that they are playable from top to bottom on the Switch is an accomplishment. 2K could have easily delayed the game or patched it up but no they just saw an easy cash grab.
To be fair to them, the Switch came out in March 2017, and 2K18 came out in December 2017, where as Doom Eternal came out on Switch in 2020, 3 years to work on the code
I still have that abomination of a game. I too was hopeful of patches at least making the game playable beyond 1v1 matches. If 2k decides to release another WWE game in the future for a Nintendo console it needs to be at a reduced price and made specifically for that console. Not ported.
Didn't have issues with the game crashing or have issues in 1 on 1 matches so much. Anything higher then 2 weather though you had it running so show you had no reason to miss a counter. Also entrances showed down. As for reviews I think they were too generous and was ranked to high. Personally I was upset as I would love to take the game on the go at least with the creation aspect. I 50 hours a week and don't really download wrestlers but make my own roster and there are over almost 200 said across to profiles on my PS4. However with it becoming even more vast that takes time. I do technically work 3rd and when I'm off I have a lot of running around to do so this does limit my time even more. Especially when you create the wrestler, create their second attire, do their entrance, victory motion, and do their movesets. Not counting creating their entrance video and signs now. One wrestler to take several hours. I got to the point to where I record each one's move set upload it to a private video on here and then go through it and redo the games year after year, which doesn't save a lot of time, but then scroll through the new moves and update them in the moveset. I really wish they would allow us to move certain things to the new game, when it comes to creations. Similar to how they let us move or Smackdown versus Raw 2009 information to the Legends of wrestlemania game all the way back on the P2. That or maybe have an app of some sort that we can download or we can do various community creations and upload for us to download to the home console later.
This is why PlayStation did it better with the PSP. The SvR series ran exactly like the ps2 and ps3 consoles. It’s crazy how PlayStation ported wwe games from the ps2 and ps3 on a 2005 handheld. I’m not tryna start a console war btw so just chill 😅
You didn't go into the changes at all. You said that they just didn't have certain match types or stripped down certain match types. Tell us more about that. What characters were not included? What characters were included through dlc? How much longer did it take for the DLC to come out? It's like this video was the pitch for another, longer video.
I actually remember that one idk if it’s worse than 2k18 imo lol. Idk if anyone ever remembers the tna impact game for mobile though. It wasn’t horrible but it was better than the 2k mobile attempt
That one was clearly a mobile game on it's own, just released around the time of 2K15's release, to capitalize on the hype. I played it, the gameplay was really just swping the screen if I remember correctly, got bored of it quickly. Even TNA game for older phones was better than this to be honest.
They should have done either 2k14 or 2k15 next gen at the time. Cuz Sadly even though I love the switch. It can do high end ps3/360 But negligible on ps4/ONE.
@@nevermindgaming6848 Not a single THQ WWE game was awful, apart from Crush Hour. SVR 08 to WWE 13 were meh, but they weren’t awful. And Shut Your Mouth to SVR 07 was the best era for WWE games ever.
It actually would have if Blind Squirrel actually tried. Switch is capable of more than people give it credit for. And numerous more intense games came over and were done better.

@mattsmoo58 that game runs like gta v on a toaster oven lmao. It honestly at times gives 2k18 on the switch a run for its money man!
Nailed it
2k18 overall sucked for any console. Worst soundtrack in any 2k game as well.
Poor excuse for a game. They should have lost the license after that garbage release

2K18 was the first game I got on my Nintendo Switch, boy was that a mistake 😭

I was thinking the same thing, my god, it is horrible
The craziest thing was that as far as I know they still sell 2k18 on the Eshop and even have it on sale regularly.
Like that’s just shameful…
I think It already got delisted last year
Why don't they just put the WWE2K14 engine to this port(just like the PS3 version of 2K17)

Just buy a handheld PC like the Lenovo Legion Go or the Asus Rog Ally if you absolutely want to play on a handheld device.
0:19 the sudden rush of nostalgia hearing the old ScrewAttack music just washed over me
Such a bad game they never ported any of the other games to the Switch. Says a lot about Yukes and 2K.
Its funny how most of the Wii versions of WWE games were better than this.

The WWE games on GBA were bad in terms of gameplay obviously imo. But the music from those games were good
what game run smoother on low end setup?
I’m curious how this game plays on an overclocked switch mod 🤔
I don’t buy non Nintendo exclusives for my switch. So I didn’t have to deal with these issues, but 18 had the best roster
There are a lot of good non exclusives on Switch.
At least half of my Switch games in my collection are third parties, and a lot are not exclusives.
3:10 I mean, to be fair, thats not so different from the other console/PC versions...

Id love to see them try and put 2k24 on switch
Hope the next Nintendo console will got a wwe game
They were able to port wrestling games to the PSP for fucks sake, definitely with a lot of compromises but they played smoothly
