Then as his finale Blows up Wayne manor. Of course hes actually still active, I guess Orginally Nightfall protocol was made to be his final end, but he changed it when he found how effective Scarecrows latest toxin was so he instead hid away and uses the fear toxin to remain active while being dead.
Arkham Knight Batman did go out fighting actually - Took out hundreds of unmanned tanks in a few hours - Lowered the blast radius of Scarecrow's bomb - Defused a bomb collar around Catwoman's neck and took down Riddler after collecting a total of 243 trophies - Destroyed all of Penguin's weapon caches and apprehended Penguin himself - Stopped multiple bank robberies then captured Two Face - Took down multiple militia watchtowers, checkpoints, and bombs they had placed around the city and took down Deathstroke afterwards, this caused the militia to skip town - Apprehended Harley and the Joker infected (Even though the Joker infected were killed later on) - Apprehended Killer Croc, took down the League of Assassins, took down Mad Hatter, and helped Freeze save his wife - Stopped Firefly from reducing Gotham to ash - Prevented Pyg from turning any more people into dollotrons - Unmasked the Arkham Knight - Saved Barbara from falling off a building - Stopped an all out assault on G.C.P.D - Defeated Hush -Saved Ryder from being sacrificed by a crazy immortal preacher - Conquered Scarecrow's fear gas and used it against him, saving Robin and Gordon in the process He did all of this in one night (please note, I said Arkham Knight Batman, not Batman from that disappointing SS game)
I was hopeful in Suicide Squad kill the justice league to wash off the taste of Gotham Knights. They instead made me appreciate the old Arkham games and consider Gotham Knights to be good.

Gotham Knights is so boring and dull that I couldn't be bothered to finish it. SSKTJL is overall much better game. You don't even get 60fps on PS5 support which the game was made for the PS5. That is completely unacceptable meanwhile SSKTJL runs 4K60FPS beautifully.

There’s some bad things about it for sure, but I tend to agree. The problem was Arkham Knight set the bar so high for the combat system that when I played Gotham Knights it just felt so mediocre from both a combat and game physics when driving the bikes standpoint. Even Batgirls gliding feels awkward.
At First I had a lot of Mixed Feelings about Gotham Knights but after witnessing the God Awful CW Version as a Heartless Cash Grab and how Insulting SSKTJL was, I have to give. Tons of Credit to the Gotham Knights Game as despite its Flaws it respects the Lore and Characters, you feel the Characters playing as Unique in Combat, has Emotional and Heartwarming Moments, it was Made by Passionate People who loved the Bat Family and DC, and you feel the Risks of making this Game and to be in its Own Unique, it’s one of those things that we Took for Granted and I wish it had more DLC and Updates.

It's a masterpiece, but because of stoppid pricing policies of WB Games (they didn't even set the regional prices on Steam, shame on them!!!) and people like you jumping on the hate train, SSSTJL is most likely going to die, if the Joker season doesn’t bring in a new audience on March 28, 2024, of course. Gotham Knights was (and is) kinda bland. I pre-purchased both Suicide Squad and Gotham Knights, by the way. Gotham Knights is just... sterile, you know. Dunno, why the author of the video gave it a point for characters because it wasn't a strong point of the game. Heck, Gotham Knights felt like a downgrade even comparing it to Arkham Origins. I hope WB Games Montreal learned some lessons and will make their next game (Gotham Knights 2???) a better experience. Although no, WB Games is unhappy with their AAA release sellings, there won't be Gotham Knights 2. I hope they at least allow us to kill all 13 Brainiacs and save the Justice League before the game shut down. I'm not trying to diss WB Games Montreal. It's not their fault their game is not as good as it could be. it seems to me that the publisher just spared money. Like we all know the unfinished and canceled Batgirl movie case. Warner Bros. doesn't have money, it needs money. That's why the only post-release content we got are two content updates with reusing the same three bosses from the main story (Freeze, Quinn and Clayface) and some grindy co-op mode levels with escorting Starro at the end. Didn't play the final, second update, though, but I heard they were also reusing the same three bosses there. TLDR. WB Games Montreal has to learn how to make characters better and not so sterile, maybe they will improve with their next game. Suicide Squad: Save the Justice League > Gotham Knights any day of the week. Rocksteady is cooking. The villain here is the publisher, WB Games, which depends on investors because it is on the verge of bankruptcy. Warner Bros. just doesn't have money. That's why we got the whole Sweet Baby Inc. deal. And that's why both games were set to be released as a live service model (they canceled it for Gotham Knights though).
Totally agree. The Squad game should have played more like Team Fortress 2 IMO. Each character being a specialized style of combat and gameplay. While strong in some aspects, the are weaker in others and that's why you need a well balanced team to win. Example: King Shark should be The Heavy, which a focus on being a tank. Cap Boomerang, should be the Spy (like he was in the comics) with a speciality in stealth and infiltration. Deadshot is obviously the sniper. Harley is small arms and melee attacks. How much more fun would this game be versus the crap we saw in Kill the Justice League? A game like this would REQUIRE more variety of enemy types, and scenarios to create a Squad that would succeed.
The difference Gotham Knights, despite its flaws didn't feel like a giant middle finger to the fans or people who actually understand the Characters. Example. Captain Boomerang. He would be the LAST person to piss on the Flash. Being a member of The Rogues, while villians, they had a strict honor code. If anything, Cap Boomerang would be the first to kick the snot out of anyone attempting to disrespect the body of the Flash with all the history and respect these characters had in their history. That also is what ticks me off about Arkham Harley. With the history of Batman and Harley, there is no way she would treat Batman like that in the end with that speech. If anything, if you MUST kill Batman in the same way for this game. It should feel like putting down a mad dog. You don't want to do it, but you know it needs to be done. What would have been more fitting is Batman having contingency plans to keep fighting even when under mind control but in the end even Batman knows he can't win. So as one last act of heroism he regains control of his mind long enough to try to bind Batman's brain to Brainiacs and if Batman dies, Brainiac would lose a great portion of his powers. He would ask Harley to kill him in one last act of sacrifice. The result would be weakening Brainiac to a level that the Suicide Squad and the world can actually win in a fight.
@@DudiReviews I would also add that the gameplay was also a major failure in this game. I bought this game thinking it was going to be similar to other squad style games like Team Fortress 2. Instead we have all the characters of the Squad be shooters. It would have been so much better if they did copy Team Fortress. Example. King Shark being the Heavy tank brute focused on melee and absorbing damage. Deadshot would be a Sniper combat style. Boomerang would be a great infiltration type of player sneaking in and sabotaging. Harley would be demolition, small arms, and melee. The game I bought (yes I bought this turd of a game) is all the same class and no enemy variety. The charm of Team Fortress was there was no single player or class that could solo win. You needed to work as a team to win. That is what is lacking so badly in this game.
im part of the rare group of people that enjoyed playing the game, I think the traversal, combat and shooting is insanely fun and the gameplay keeps me coming back for more. But the story was one giant shitshow. Arkham Batman was heavily disrespected. If anything, I don't understand how he succumbed to brainiac's mind control that easily. Batman is extremely smart and perfected perfect mental and physical attributes so there's no way he would've been compromised that easily, especially if he withstood all that fear toxin and immune to majority of poisons in the world and has a cure for it. Also how did flash and wonder woman survive but batman couldn't. If anything I expected batman to counter the effects to save the justice league. Its always batman saving the others from compromise but him being compromised, breaking his no kill code, and going on a full rampage was terrifying. Not to mention how he got caught out of nowhere with that stupid fear toxin boss fight just to be a helpless guinea pig for lex at the end and then disposed off. He could've easily escaped. I have a feeling he didn't die. Because brainiac didn't react. He will come back soon.

My opinion is always that Gotham Knights should have been Arkhamverse, and Suicide Squad most definitely should have not (because clearly they didn't even try to keep consistency). Gotham Knights had different takes on some characters, but if Batman had just disappeared/retired like in Arkham Knight, it could have just followed that story. Both would have been better for it imo.

Yeah, they were planning to release two live service games back in 2020, if I recall correctly. But then they got rid of all the live service stuff in Gotham Knights, and that's why it feels like it feels: empty. But in case with Suicide Squad: Save the Justice League, WB Games decided to stand by their decision on the live service model to the end.
The thing that makes me saddest is that with all the push back and rage at Gotham Knights we might never see a more polished version of it cause a couple additions to transversal and combat and the game could really come up
SSKTJL SUCCEEDS in movement but nothing else, while knights failed in that aspect but had a decent story. The scene of Bruce stripping makes PERFECT sense for his personas being drastically different
the most amusing thing with harley quinn is seeing how Gotham Knights makes her work so much more than Suicide Squad, especially when they have the same prison design and its so apparent the ESG soaked design of SS over GK
@@DudiReviews, yeah, the graphics is impeccable. But it's because it's always night, all Rocskeady needed to do is to nail the night atmosphere. If you look at the Gotham City in the morning (in the Nightwing DLC story mission), you'll see it doesn't look so good when night is over.
Arkham City is the GOAT, Lego DC Super-Villains is kinda cool, but Suicide Squad: Save the Justice League isn't a bad game at all!!! It just needs some time to Rocksteady fix its issues and drop new story bits. WB Games went too hard at killing the game while at the same time they needed it as a lifebuoy because their ship is sinking.
I am playing Arkham City and the Lego Batman series for the first time now. I recently played through Arkham Asylum and IMO it was THE definitive Batman experience. Suicide Squad from what I have seen of it is trash, I am glad that I didn't buy that monstrosity. Gotham Knights looks average
Its unquestionably Gotham Knights and for many reasons but its also in my top 3 Superhero games of the last 5 years. It deserved a lot more love, people treated it like a live service that lacked content when in reality it was complete at launch.
But it IS basically a live service game that lacked content. Yeah, WB Games moved from the decision to release two live service model games, but you still can see the live service remains in Gotham Knights.

Gotham Knights was not nearly as bad as people say it was. It was different than the status quo and that's why it was hated. SSKTJL on the other hand is a dumpster fire on all fronts.
When it comes to Suicids Squad story, we might not ever get a finished story if not enough people care to buy the add ons. After all, games like Anthem were suppposed to last for a long time but was dead by the year. Avengers barely gave out what they promised and was just the same missions over and over again(just like suicide squad). Games as a service only live as long as people throw money into the service, but games by design are ment to end
Gotham Knights felt superior when compared to SSKTJL. Both games aren’t the best but at least I feel that Gotham Knights had its own unique story while SSKTJL mainly seemed to use the fact it’s somehow connected to the Arkham games as a way to bring people in. After I killed flash in that I just gave up on this game. Gotham knights is repetitive but at least I felt it was pretty interesting as showing us a Gotham where Batman isn’t there and the bat family are taking care of Gotham City
100% gotham knights. yes its got some wanky combat, but atleast its unique looking and ACTUALLY makes sense. even if batman did die to ras al ghoul. never in a million years would i think id call gotham knights good, but here we are...
While I can't speak on how either Gotham Knights, or Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, play as a game(I haven't played either of them), when it comes to showing respect to characters, Gotham Knights wins overall. Batman's death was handled much, much better. Character moments that each of the Bat family members have are good. The way Harley Quinn was depicted was much better, especially with how she stands on her own. I liked the depiction of Clayface, with how disillusioned he is. And the Batman audio logs are great, with 'Father and Grayson' probably being my favorite. Though, after looking at all the cutscenes where Red Hood is the player character, Gotham Knights feels more like it was meant to be a Red Hood game, with the rest of the Knights being secondary protagonists.

I clicked off when they game the gameplay point to suicide squad. Gotham knights wasn’t the best but at least the bat family wasn’t running around shooting generic guns with skins that cost 20 dollars

if you do research for gotham knights, it was clear the devs really wanted to make a sequel to knight. leaked concept art came out and it was going to be batman beyond and a older bruce wayne batman years after the events of arkham knight. it was canceled around i think 2019 cause wb hates money. but you can see some dna of it in gotham knights (going first person in the vents for example)

For me Gotham knights is a better game sure is not the Arkham games but I enjoyed it for what it was it has a little bit of Arkham it in it with its own style of gameplay and melee attacks with every character feeling like they own and sure it wasn't perfect like the story and combat but they treated Batman with respect sacrificing himself for his family and for the people of Gotham they didn't feel the same unlike The Suicide Squad game and an open world able to go anywhere you want without your head being explode but I really enjoyed Gotham nights my 2 favorite missions were Clayface and Mr Freeze so this is how I rate them Gotham knights 7/10 Suicide Squad kill the justice league 5/10 I just didn't like it everything about the game bothered me it should have been a Justice League game or a new Batman Arkham game
@@laughing_arbiter I wish I was exaggerating, but that rockem sockem combat style in Arkham games makes you just go through the motions. Still challenge like dance dance revolution or guitar hero, but you don’t have to setup moves you just press a button and teleport to who’s ever closest. In Gotham knights you have to avoid certain enemies or know what momentum abilities/elemental to use on them. Also Arkham doesn’t have different characters just different animations.

I think SSKTJL could’ve pulled it off being irreverent but: 1) the squad had to be shown as murderous a-holes a lot more that way they can still be murderous a-holes after boss fights 2) any time they tried to get an emotional reaction, one time is very forced, that all had to go (except the tribute) 3) all the political messages had to be removed I get that the devs or SBI were concerned about gun laws and the environment but the Suicide Squad is not they’re murderous a-holes. The only other way is to tone the entire thing down. Have them put the Justice League in those human hamster balls keep them locked up. So it would have had to be completely irreverent like nothing matters so we can understand that properly, or it does matter so don’t insult the customers.

I just got ss yesterday. I beat Gotham knights a month ago. Ss has a way better looting curve and feels like an actual game outside of some repetitive mechanics but I prefer ss because I love the feel of joker and shark whereas redhood and nightwing felt pretty clunky in knights most of the time
Also considering David Zaslav, the CEO of WB has been on absolute rip and tear of canceling and removing failed projects, i honestly doubt SSKTJL will ever be complete. I can see WB releasing whatever DLC they currently have and being moving on. WB left Gotham Knights to ROT and it appears to have been more successful (as far as we the consumer can see).

Why do people want Gotham Knights to be an Arkham game just because it "takes inspiration", and meanwhile they don't have the same energy for Insomniac Spiderman who uses WAY more Arkham-like mechanics. People act like they want more soul and care put into games, but then it's almost like a 50/50 split of people preferring the completely soulless, lackadaisical Fortnite ripoff combat system of SSKTJJ. At least Gotham Knights is actually a fighting game and not a cheap shooter.

Its a given that Gotham Knights treated its characters better especially Batman, however in S.Squad its not only Batman but all the male members were treated like shit, only Wonder Woman was treated properly, i recall that both games had the Sweet Baby touch but i think it was more heavy influenced in S.Squad hence the treatment of the male league members. Also i think Knights was also suppose to be a Live Service game but abandoned yet couldnt do much to change what was done hence the RPG mechanics, so one abandoned and one stuck with the Live Service idea.
Coming from someone who is a die hard batman fan and only plays story base games. I put over 30 hours in Gotham Knights and the same into Suicide Squad SSKTJL is wayyyyyy better. Gotham knights gameplay is weak.
Yeah they’re both ass but at least with Gotham Knights you can tell at bare minimum the devs love the characters n the world of DC and that shows in game while SS? Yeah they couldn’t even respect the universe they wanted it to be in.
I think Gotham Knights had an overall better story but Suicide Squad is better in terms of the fun you get out of it. Especially when playing with friends.
I finished my very first playthrough of Gotham Knights just a few hours ago. Poured 59 hours into it. I don't think it's perfect; the grapple targeting feels borderline broken at times, only THREE actual side missions is disappointing, the difficulty scaling feels REALLY off ('Very Easy' and 'Easy' are WAAAAAAAAAAAY too easy meanwhile large fights on 'Medium' fucking curbstomp you) and the Court of Owls getting sidelined by the League of Assassins towards the end of the story while making sense narratively was a tad disappointing, but otherwise I had a lot of fun. The game's version Gotham is gorgeous, the combat is fun thanks to each character's unique gear and abilities, the enemy factions are all varied and interesting making them super fun to fight, the story is rock solid and the dialogue/character interactions are phenomenal. As for Sewer-cide Shit Stain: Kill the ArkhamVerse... I mean the fact I have that nickname for it should tell you how I feel about it. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Nah, you missed the grind, the anti-consumer Tactics and the awful connectivity issues. Those also affect the experience, and SS ruined all of those. GK was absolutely mediocre, while SS is actively harmful by its anti-consumer antics, and a favorite for worst game of the year.
Suicide Squad is objectively a better game. Plus even if you just want a multiplayer experience Suicide Squad offers a better one, can't even have a 4 player team in Gotham Knights... Don't even mention those levels that no one played.

The only real issue Gotham knights had was a traversal limitation where you could go but so fast thru out the city. Everything else was great, combat and particle effects were truly top notch and the game was underrated af.
I think it works well as a co op just makes sense but they should have let you have ai teammates sense the game really stresses teamwork in certain areas with some skills only working if you have a co op player and sense no one plays the game it’s hard to accomplish that
Suicide Squad should be compared to the best aka other Rocksteady games. Gotham Knight is not deserve to be compared to this games, only with arkham origins and both of them are mid
I wish that the universes were flipped for these games where we got the bat family vs the court of owls and no league of shadows in the Arkham universe, where the court decide now is the time to strike since Batman is gone, and Suicide squad was it’s own universe and didn’t have to unceremoniously kill off a beloved version of an even more beloved character and undo the final story arc of Batman

Gotham knights was terrible. I was so board and was struggling mentally trying to get through the game. at least the characters in suicide squad feel alive. suicide squad was ok
With Suicide Squad no longer getting any support, in my opinion this should retroactively be a tie. You obviously can't predict how long the game was going to last. When reviewing it at launch you must five benefit of the doubt. Avengers lasted a good 3 years, suggesting Suicide Squad should have a similar run. As we know now, it didn't even made it past a full year of support (in all fairness it just barely fell short), but nobody could've told you that at launch. I don't think my definition of shelf life is the same as yours, but I feel we can agree that 1 year of support is sad. Gotham Knights got a similar amount of post launch support, but it never promised to be live service. It didn't underdeliver on purpose so you'd return for more story. It gave you the full product you paid for, and that should give it the point for shelf life. At least in my opinion.
I personally liked Jason Todd’s traversal (and I believe I’m in a minority when it comes to this) I thought this idea that he had gained some extraordinary ability through the Lazarus pit was actually kind of interesting. The only thing that bummed me out was there was no story reason to go with it so I felt a little let down there. But I enjoyed doing leap frog throughout Gotham
While I did have issues with Gotham Knights, I appreciated 2 things. 1. They gave the other heroes time to shine. While I LOVED the arkham games I wasn't always a fan of Batman in the Arkham games. The only one where I actually kind of liked batman as a character was in Origins. Every other entry I felt NOTHING towards him. I cared more for Jason Todd and Tim Drake in this game then I have in the last 10 years as a VERY casual DC fan. 2. For the first time in the game I felt like a comic book vigilante. Arkham games previously had a reason why the area you were in was not 'living', it was a asylum, an open air prison, a city in the midst of a snow storm, a city evacuated as a result of terrorist attack, this one you could find people wondering about. When you stopped crimes the cops would come and investigate and if they SAW you, they would try to arrest you. The gotham PD was CORRUPT and you had to sometimes stop THEM from harming civillians. You could even watch the cops come on the scene after you busted up a gang and tied them up, look at them go 'who the heck did this!?' and then fly off into the night like a Batman-style vigilante WOULD. It was a great feeling. While there was many issues with Gotham knights that was one thing they did RIGHT and hope continues into any future Arkham like games.
Couple of corections, fiirst the combat in gotham knigth is not like arkham, you have light and strong attacks, you have perfects attack that change the animations and flow, you have grapels, you have range attacks ligh and strong, you have stamina bar abilities that funtions as counters and you have dodge and perfect dodges with a counter. Each knigth is diferent in how it feel when playing a example red hood is the only one that have perfect range attacks and robin is the one with inverted take downs you have a sonar that funtions as a predator vision in the stealth secctions, the city has npc, comun crimes and diferent types of big crymes like kidnappig or court bases, bike races, etc. You can fix the transversal with mods, more speed in the bike and all the knights something that you cant do in a live service game. And to end i can always play the game if i want to, but SS when the servers end service it will be the end o the game (i know they promise a offline mode but with a player base so small y doubt they wiil be new things apart of the dlc that is already done like the joker)
still all trash, the traversal in SSKTJL is much better. Its hard to master but once you do, its so rewarding to move around the city. Also using traversal attacks combining it with guns and melees to traversal transitions make the game so much more fun. You gotta play the game to understand it. The game is super fun and I had way more enjoyment out of it than I did playing Gotham Knights. If Rocksteady made Gotham Knights and fixed the traversal and combat and stealth, it would've been fire and a much better game than SSKTJL
GK easily. GK is a superhero game that had its flaws…..and SSKTJL is a looter shooter that features superheroes and villains. GK batman died fighting and SSTKTJL died on a park bench.
It's funny how Gotham Knights is _not_ canon to the Arkhamverse, even though it fits better and could arguably be modded to finally be a good game, while Suicide Squad is supposedly "canon" to the Arkhamverse, but none of it fits whatsoever and has the stench of Sweet Baby Inc writing all over it.
Gotham Knights is a great game, it's just that Arkham Knight is much better. And since people tend to compare them (since they're both DC), Gotham Knights gets less recognition and appreciation. The game has good dialogue, story, combat (could be better but it's not messy or tedious) and fun gameplay. Plus they actually did Batman Justice. People were manipulated into becoming hyped by the S-Squad game because it was claimed to be set in the same universe as Arkham series.
Depends on your playstyle. Suicide Squad is more of a Shooter. Gothem Knights is more of a Beat em up hack and slash. If you ask me Gothem Knights felt more like playing a Real Superhero game because of the fighting mechanics. Suicide Squad has cleaner graphics and better dialog but thats about it.
I haven't played any of them, but I have seen a Nightwing playthrough of Gotham Knights, and I really liked it 😊 But Suicide Squad, I have not seen a playthrough, but I know the main story. And it's not good, I have played the Arkham games so I'm also mad about what they did to Batman
I'm enjoying Gotham Knights as a standalone game. I haven't finished Arkham Knight yet. I want to check out suicide squad but need to do it when it goes on sale. I do believe Arkham Knight is the best out of all three. But if we don't compare them, they are decent games on their own.

Then as his finale Blows up Wayne manor. Of course hes actually still active, I guess Orginally Nightfall protocol was made to be his final end, but he changed it when he found how effective Scarecrows latest toxin was so he instead hid away and uses the fear toxin to remain active while being dead.

- Stopped multiple bank robberies then captured Two Face
- Took down multiple militia watchtowers, checkpoints, and bombs they had placed around the city and took down Deathstroke afterwards, this caused the militia to skip town
- Apprehended Harley and the Joker infected (Even though the Joker infected were killed later on)
- Apprehended Killer Croc, took down the League of Assassins, took down Mad Hatter, and helped Freeze save his wife
- Stopped Firefly from reducing Gotham to ash
- Prevented Pyg from turning any more people into dollotrons
- Unmasked the Arkham Knight
- Saved Barbara from falling off a building
- Stopped an all out assault on G.C.P.D
- Defeated Hush
-Saved Ryder from being sacrificed by a crazy immortal preacher
- Conquered Scarecrow's fear gas and used it against him, saving Robin and Gordon in the process

I was hopeful in Suicide Squad kill the justice league to wash off the taste of Gotham Knights. They instead made me appreciate the old Arkham games and consider Gotham Knights to be good.

That is completely unacceptable meanwhile SSKTJL runs 4K60FPS beautifully.

There’s some bad things about it for sure, but I tend to agree. The problem was Arkham Knight set the bar so high for the combat system that when I played Gotham Knights it just felt so mediocre from both a combat and game physics when driving the bikes standpoint. Even Batgirls gliding feels awkward.

At First I had a lot of Mixed Feelings about Gotham Knights but after witnessing the God Awful CW Version as a Heartless Cash Grab and how Insulting SSKTJL was, I have to give. Tons of Credit to the Gotham Knights Game as despite its Flaws it respects the Lore and Characters, you feel the Characters playing as Unique in Combat, has Emotional and Heartwarming Moments, it was Made by Passionate People who loved the Bat Family and DC, and you feel the Risks of making this Game and to be in its Own Unique, it’s one of those things that we Took for Granted and I wish it had more DLC and Updates.

Gotham Knights was (and is) kinda bland. I pre-purchased both Suicide Squad and Gotham Knights, by the way. Gotham Knights is just... sterile, you know. Dunno, why the author of the video gave it a point for characters because it wasn't a strong point of the game. Heck, Gotham Knights felt like a downgrade even comparing it to Arkham Origins. I hope WB Games Montreal learned some lessons and will make their next game (Gotham Knights 2???) a better experience. Although no, WB Games is unhappy with their AAA release sellings, there won't be Gotham Knights 2. I hope they at least allow us to kill all 13 Brainiacs and save the Justice League before the game shut down.
I'm not trying to diss WB Games Montreal. It's not their fault their game is not as good as it could be. it seems to me that the publisher just spared money. Like we all know the unfinished and canceled Batgirl movie case. Warner Bros. doesn't have money, it needs money. That's why the only post-release content we got are two content updates with reusing the same three bosses from the main story (Freeze, Quinn and Clayface) and some grindy co-op mode levels with escorting Starro at the end. Didn't play the final, second update, though, but I heard they were also reusing the same three bosses there.
TLDR. WB Games Montreal has to learn how to make characters better and not so sterile, maybe they will improve with their next game. Suicide Squad: Save the Justice League > Gotham Knights any day of the week. Rocksteady is cooking. The villain here is the publisher, WB Games, which depends on investors because it is on the verge of bankruptcy. Warner Bros. just doesn't have money. That's why we got the whole Sweet Baby Inc. deal. And that's why both games were set to be released as a live service model (they canceled it for Gotham Knights though).
Totally agree. The Squad game should have played more like Team Fortress 2 IMO. Each character being a specialized style of combat and gameplay. While strong in some aspects, the are weaker in others and that's why you need a well balanced team to win. Example: King Shark should be The Heavy, which a focus on being a tank. Cap Boomerang, should be the Spy (like he was in the comics) with a speciality in stealth and infiltration. Deadshot is obviously the sniper. Harley is small arms and melee attacks. How much more fun would this game be versus the crap we saw in Kill the Justice League? A game like this would REQUIRE more variety of enemy types, and scenarios to create a Squad that would succeed.

The single fact that they killed arkham batman how they did makes gotham knights better.
The difference Gotham Knights, despite its flaws didn't feel like a giant middle finger to the fans or people who actually understand the Characters. Example. Captain Boomerang. He would be the LAST person to piss on the Flash. Being a member of The Rogues, while villians, they had a strict honor code. If anything, Cap Boomerang would be the first to kick the snot out of anyone attempting to disrespect the body of the Flash with all the history and respect these characters had in their history. That also is what ticks me off about Arkham Harley. With the history of Batman and Harley, there is no way she would treat Batman like that in the end with that speech. If anything, if you MUST kill Batman in the same way for this game. It should feel like putting down a mad dog. You don't want to do it, but you know it needs to be done. What would have been more fitting is Batman having contingency plans to keep fighting even when under mind control but in the end even Batman knows he can't win. So as one last act of heroism he regains control of his mind long enough to try to bind Batman's brain to Brainiacs and if Batman dies, Brainiac would lose a great portion of his powers. He would ask Harley to kill him in one last act of sacrifice. The result would be weakening Brainiac to a level that the Suicide Squad and the world can actually win in a fight.

@@DudiReviews I would also add that the gameplay was also a major failure in this game. I bought this game thinking it was going to be similar to other squad style games like Team Fortress 2. Instead we have all the characters of the Squad be shooters. It would have been so much better if they did copy Team Fortress. Example. King Shark being the Heavy tank brute focused on melee and absorbing damage. Deadshot would be a Sniper combat style. Boomerang would be a great infiltration type of player sneaking in and sabotaging. Harley would be demolition, small arms, and melee. The game I bought (yes I bought this turd of a game) is all the same class and no enemy variety. The charm of Team Fortress was there was no single player or class that could solo win. You needed to work as a team to win. That is what is lacking so badly in this game.
im part of the rare group of people that enjoyed playing the game, I think the traversal, combat and shooting is insanely fun and the gameplay keeps me coming back for more. But the story was one giant shitshow. Arkham Batman was heavily disrespected. If anything, I don't understand how he succumbed to brainiac's mind control that easily. Batman is extremely smart and perfected perfect mental and physical attributes so there's no way he would've been compromised that easily, especially if he withstood all that fear toxin and immune to majority of poisons in the world and has a cure for it. Also how did flash and wonder woman survive but batman couldn't. If anything I expected batman to counter the effects to save the justice league. Its always batman saving the others from compromise but him being compromised, breaking his no kill code, and going on a full rampage was terrifying. Not to mention how he got caught out of nowhere with that stupid fear toxin boss fight just to be a helpless guinea pig for lex at the end and then disposed off. He could've easily escaped. I have a feeling he didn't die. Because brainiac didn't react. He will come back soon.

My opinion is always that Gotham Knights should have been Arkhamverse, and Suicide Squad most definitely should have not (because clearly they didn't even try to keep consistency). Gotham Knights had different takes on some characters, but if Batman had just disappeared/retired like in Arkham Knight, it could have just followed that story. Both would have been better for it imo.

But then they got rid of all the live service stuff in Gotham Knights, and that's why it feels like it feels: empty. But in case with Suicide Squad: Save the Justice League, WB Games decided to stand by their decision on the live service model to the end.
The thing that makes me saddest is that with all the push back and rage at Gotham Knights we might never see a more polished version of it cause a couple additions to transversal and combat and the game could really come up

SSKTJL SUCCEEDS in movement but nothing else, while knights failed in that aspect but had a decent story. The scene of Bruce stripping makes PERFECT sense for his personas being drastically different

@@DudiReviews, yeah, the graphics is impeccable. But it's because it's always night, all Rocskeady needed to do is to nail the night atmosphere. If you look at the Gotham City in the morning (in the Nightwing DLC story mission), you'll see it doesn't look so good when night is over.
Arkham City is the GOAT, Lego DC Super-Villains is kinda cool, but Suicide Squad: Save the Justice League isn't a bad game at all!!! It just needs some time to Rocksteady fix its issues and drop new story bits. WB Games went too hard at killing the game while at the same time they needed it as a lifebuoy because their ship is sinking.

I am playing Arkham City and the Lego Batman series for the first time now. I recently played through Arkham Asylum and IMO it was THE definitive Batman experience. Suicide Squad from what I have seen of it is trash, I am glad that I didn't buy that monstrosity. Gotham Knights looks average
I honestly kind of enjoyed Gotham knights I'll never play Suicide squad.
Its unquestionably Gotham Knights and for many reasons but its also in my top 3 Superhero games of the last 5 years. It deserved a lot more love, people treated it like a live service that lacked content when in reality it was complete at launch.
But it IS basically a live service game that lacked content. Yeah, WB Games moved from the decision to release two live service model games, but you still can see the live service remains in Gotham Knights.

the premise/story of Gotham Knights was brilliant - but seems like something was off when playing it.
When it comes to Suicids Squad story, we might not ever get a finished story if not enough people care to buy the add ons. After all, games like Anthem were suppposed to last for a long time but was dead by the year. Avengers barely gave out what they promised and was just the same missions over and over again(just like suicide squad). Games as a service only live as long as people throw money into the service, but games by design are ment to end
Gotham Knights felt superior when compared to SSKTJL. Both games aren’t the best but at least I feel that Gotham Knights had its own unique story while SSKTJL mainly seemed to use the fact it’s somehow connected to the Arkham games as a way to bring people in. After I killed flash in that I just gave up on this game. Gotham knights is repetitive but at least I felt it was pretty interesting as showing us a Gotham where Batman isn’t there and the bat family are taking care of Gotham City

While I can't speak on how either Gotham Knights, or Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, play as a game(I haven't played either of them), when it comes to showing respect to characters, Gotham Knights wins overall. Batman's death was handled much, much better. Character moments that each of the Bat family members have are good. The way Harley Quinn was depicted was much better, especially with how she stands on her own. I liked the depiction of Clayface, with how disillusioned he is. And the Batman audio logs are great, with 'Father and Grayson' probably being my favorite.
Though, after looking at all the cutscenes where Red Hood is the player character, Gotham Knights feels more like it was meant to be a Red Hood game, with the rest of the Knights being secondary protagonists.

if you do research for gotham knights, it was clear the devs really wanted to make a sequel to knight. leaked concept art came out and it was going to be batman beyond and a older bruce wayne batman years after the events of arkham knight. it was canceled around i think 2019 cause wb hates money. but you can see some dna of it in gotham knights (going first person in the vents for example)

For me Gotham knights is a better game sure is not the Arkham games but I enjoyed it for what it was it has a little bit of Arkham it in it with its own style of gameplay and melee attacks with every character feeling like they own and sure it wasn't perfect like the story and combat but they treated Batman with respect sacrificing himself for his family and for the people of Gotham they didn't feel the same unlike The Suicide Squad game and an open world able to go anywhere you want without your head being explode but I really enjoyed Gotham nights my 2 favorite missions were Clayface and Mr Freeze so this is how I rate them

@@laughing_arbiter I wish I was exaggerating, but that rockem sockem combat style in Arkham games makes you just go through the motions. Still challenge like dance dance revolution or guitar hero, but you don’t have to setup moves you just press a button and teleport to who’s ever closest.
In Gotham knights you have to avoid certain enemies or know what momentum abilities/elemental to use on them.
Also Arkham doesn’t have different characters just different animations.

I think SSKTJL could’ve pulled it off being irreverent but:
1) the squad had to be shown as murderous a-holes a lot more that way they can still be murderous a-holes after boss fights
2) any time they tried to get an emotional reaction, one time is very forced, that all had to go (except the tribute)
3) all the political messages had to be removed I get that the devs or SBI were concerned about gun laws and the environment but the Suicide Squad is not they’re murderous a-holes.
The only other way is to tone the entire thing down. Have them put the Justice League in those human hamster balls keep them locked up. So it would have had to be completely irreverent like nothing matters so we can understand that properly, or it does matter so don’t insult the customers.
My thing is, the Story for SSKTJL technically isn't finished yet, so I'm holding off on judging it completely

I just got ss yesterday. I beat Gotham knights a month ago. Ss has a way better looting curve and feels like an actual game outside of some repetitive mechanics but I prefer ss because I love the feel of joker and shark whereas redhood and nightwing felt pretty clunky in knights most of the time

Why do people want Gotham Knights to be an Arkham game just because it "takes inspiration", and meanwhile they don't have the same energy for Insomniac Spiderman who uses WAY more Arkham-like mechanics. People act like they want more soul and care put into games, but then it's almost like a 50/50 split of people preferring the completely soulless, lackadaisical Fortnite ripoff combat system of SSKTJJ. At least Gotham Knights is actually a fighting game and not a cheap shooter.

Its a given that Gotham Knights treated its characters better especially Batman, however in S.Squad its not only Batman but all the male members were treated like shit, only Wonder Woman was treated properly, i recall that both games had the Sweet Baby touch but i think it was more heavy influenced in S.Squad hence the treatment of the male league members. Also i think Knights was also suppose to be a Live Service game but abandoned yet couldnt do much to change what was done hence the RPG mechanics, so one abandoned and one stuck with the Live Service idea.
Coming from someone who is a die hard batman fan and only plays story base games. I put over 30 hours in Gotham Knights and the same into Suicide Squad

I finished my very first playthrough of Gotham Knights just a few hours ago. Poured 59 hours into it.
I don't think it's perfect; the grapple targeting feels borderline broken at times, only THREE actual side missions is disappointing, the difficulty scaling feels REALLY off ('Very Easy' and 'Easy' are WAAAAAAAAAAAY too easy meanwhile large fights on 'Medium' fucking curbstomp you) and the Court of Owls getting sidelined by the League of Assassins towards the end of the story while making sense narratively was a tad disappointing, but otherwise I had a lot of fun. The game's version Gotham is gorgeous, the combat is fun thanks to each character's unique gear and abilities, the enemy factions are all varied and interesting making them super fun to fight, the story is rock solid and the dialogue/character interactions are phenomenal.
As for Sewer-cide Shit Stain: Kill the ArkhamVerse... I mean the fact I have that nickname for it should tell you how I feel about it. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Nah, you missed the grind, the anti-consumer Tactics and the awful connectivity issues. Those also affect the experience, and SS ruined all of those. GK was absolutely mediocre, while SS is actively harmful by its anti-consumer antics, and a favorite for worst game of the year.
Suicide Squad is objectively a better game. Plus even if you just want a multiplayer experience Suicide Squad offers a better one, can't even have a 4 player team in Gotham Knights... Don't even mention those levels that no one played.

The only real issue Gotham knights had was a traversal limitation where you could go but so fast thru out the city. Everything else was great, combat and particle effects were truly top notch and the game was underrated af.

I think it works well as a co op just makes sense but they should have let you have ai teammates sense the game really stresses teamwork in certain areas with some skills only working if you have a co op player and sense no one plays the game it’s hard to accomplish that

With Suicide Squad no longer getting any support, in my opinion this should retroactively be a tie. You obviously can't predict how long the game was going to last. When reviewing it at launch you must five benefit of the doubt. Avengers lasted a good 3 years, suggesting Suicide Squad should have a similar run. As we know now, it didn't even made it past a full year of support (in all fairness it just barely fell short), but nobody could've told you that at launch. I don't think my definition of shelf life is the same as yours, but I feel we can agree that 1 year of support is sad. Gotham Knights got a similar amount of post launch support, but it never promised to be live service. It didn't underdeliver on purpose so you'd return for more story. It gave you the full product you paid for, and that should give it the point for shelf life. At least in my opinion.

I personally liked Jason Todd’s traversal (and I believe I’m in a minority when it comes to this) I thought this idea that he had gained some extraordinary ability through the Lazarus pit was actually kind of interesting. The only thing that bummed me out was there was no story reason to go with it so I felt a little let down there. But I enjoyed doing leap frog throughout Gotham

While I did have issues with Gotham Knights, I appreciated 2 things. 1. They gave the other heroes time to shine. While I LOVED the arkham games I wasn't always a fan of Batman in the Arkham games. The only one where I actually kind of liked batman as a character was in Origins. Every other entry I felt NOTHING towards him. I cared more for Jason Todd and Tim Drake in this game then I have in the last 10 years as a VERY casual DC fan.
2. For the first time in the game I felt like a comic book vigilante. Arkham games previously had a reason why the area you were in was not 'living', it was a asylum, an open air prison, a city in the midst of a snow storm, a city evacuated as a result of terrorist attack, this one you could find people wondering about. When you stopped crimes the cops would come and investigate and if they SAW you, they would try to arrest you. The gotham PD was CORRUPT and you had to sometimes stop THEM from harming civillians.
You could even watch the cops come on the scene after you busted up a gang and tied them up, look at them go 'who the heck did this!?' and then fly off into the night like a Batman-style vigilante WOULD. It was a great feeling. While there was many issues with Gotham knights that was one thing they did RIGHT and hope continues into any future Arkham like games.

Couple of corections, fiirst the combat in gotham knigth is not like arkham, you have light and strong attacks, you have perfects attack that change the animations and flow, you have grapels, you have range attacks ligh and strong, you have stamina bar abilities that funtions as counters and you have dodge and perfect dodges with a counter.
Each knigth is diferent in how it feel when playing a example red hood is the only one that have perfect range attacks and robin is the one with inverted take downs
you have a sonar that funtions as a predator vision in the stealth secctions, the city has npc, comun crimes and diferent types of big crymes like kidnappig or court bases, bike races, etc.
You can fix the transversal with mods, more speed in the bike and all the knights something that you cant do in a live service game.
And to end i can always play the game if i want to, but SS when the servers end service it will be the end o the game (i know they promise a offline mode but with a player base so small y doubt they wiil be new things apart of the dlc that is already done like the joker)
still all trash, the traversal in SSKTJL is much better. Its hard to master but once you do, its so rewarding to move around the city. Also using traversal attacks combining it with guns and melees to traversal transitions make the game so much more fun. You gotta play the game to understand it. The game is super fun and I had way more enjoyment out of it than I did playing Gotham Knights. If Rocksteady made Gotham Knights and fixed the traversal and combat and stealth, it would've been fire and a much better game than SSKTJL

Traversal didnt feel like a chore in suicide squad and it didnt feel like it was written like a CW show like Gotham Knights
agree - kinda dug the different and unique modes of traversal - and the glider for Nightwing that would actually let you fly felt off
GK easily. GK is a superhero game that had its flaws…..and SSKTJL is a looter shooter that features superheroes and villains. GK batman died fighting and SSTKTJL died on a park bench.

It's funny how Gotham Knights is _not_ canon to the Arkhamverse, even though it fits better and could arguably be modded to finally be a good game, while Suicide Squad is supposedly "canon" to the Arkhamverse, but none of it fits whatsoever and has the stench of Sweet Baby Inc writing all over it.

Gotham Knights is a great game, it's just that Arkham Knight is much better. And since people tend to compare them (since they're both DC), Gotham Knights gets less recognition and appreciation. The game has good dialogue, story, combat (could be better but it's not messy or tedious) and fun gameplay. Plus they actually did Batman Justice.
People were manipulated into becoming hyped by the S-Squad game because it was claimed to be set in the same universe as Arkham series.
Depends on your playstyle. Suicide Squad is more of a Shooter. Gothem Knights is more of a Beat em up hack and slash. If you ask me Gothem Knights felt more like playing a Real Superhero game because of the fighting mechanics. Suicide Squad has cleaner graphics and better dialog but thats about it.
I haven't played any of them, but I have seen a Nightwing playthrough of Gotham Knights, and I really liked it 😊 But Suicide Squad, I have not seen a playthrough, but I know the main story. And it's not good, I have played the Arkham games so I'm also mad about what they did to Batman
