You always give such detailed and well-thought-out reviews of your clothes, I love hearing your reasoning and it makes me better at assessing my own purchases. I love coats and would constantly be buying new ones if they weren't so expensive! Because of the price and because the weather can vary a lot here in Canada, I tend to buy coats based on practicality and the look they have by themselves. I don't see coats as part of an outfit, I see them as an outfit by themselves, and they need to go well with almost everything. For me, the outfit I wear when I'm inside needs to function on its own, since I won't be wearing my coat for most of the day.
First- this video is great! Second- I recently subscribed and I'm so impressed with the quality of your videos and your style perspective 10/10 for sure. Third - Could you please do a video on all of your skirts? I've been really expanding that style in my wardrobe and would love your take on what works about the skirts in your wardrobe. Thanks!!
So happy to have you here! :) I'm adding this to my to film list now. I think I will film it in Feb (right before Spring) as most of my skirts are lighter. Have a lovely week x
My personal favorite is definitely my Curated classic coat. I saved for it for a while, I was really appreciative of your review as a petite person- we are the same height and close to the same size 🖤 I waited until the cool brown/taupe color came out and sized up for layering, it’s the only coat I wear now and was very worth it- I definitely agree that any lighter color would be so delicate and I wouldn’t find it as practical for that.
Haven't worn coats so much before, mostly worn really warm longer jackets like puffer trenches since it gets super cold here in Sweden 🥶 but bought a black coat this year that I love and haveworn almost every day! Wanted to find a brown like yours but since I'm so short (150cm..) the sleves are always a big problem so when I found one that fit I just had to get it 😂 also bought a light plaid coat but since it's not layered I'm waiting for warmer weather 😅 For me a tie wait is a must since otherwise coats usually swallow me up.. 😅 also, tying it gives more warmth and protects against chilly winds~
Thank you for sharing! I love hearing your preferences - the belt thing makes a lot of sense and I'm glad you found the perfect black coat for your wardrobe. Have a lovely week ahead x
Will try to include this in a lookbook soon :) I think I don't wear blouses often with coats just because usually it's not warm enough in coat weather. But otherwise, I like reaching for something with a small neckline so the neckline doesn't move around too much inside the coat (if that makes sense). Thank you for watching x
Great video as always 😊 I was very lucky to find two beautiful duffle coats in December. One of them is a lighter color and the other one is navy and dark grey in a checkered pattern. They both have high percentage of wool and I love them. However, if there is one piece of outerwear that is essential in winter where I live it is an extra long puffer. I don't love it and wear it only when I have to but I sure am glad I own one ❄️
I really enjoyed the variety 😻. I only get to wear coats if I travel somewhere cold. I have a long wool camel colour from Belle & Bloom. I also have an over dress style burgundy wool one from Review.
Thanks for another great review Helen! Question: I am considering some coats from petite studio and simple retro. "Problem" is they are all made of 100% wool and I do have very sensitive skin (the Jaspard cardigan from Sezane was way too itchy for me, i think it's the alpaca though). Do you have problems with your petite studio coat with it having a high percentage of wool? Do you recommend 100% wool coats for us with sensitive skin? Thanks helen!
Love your videos and have been subscribed for a while, however I have a bit of constructive criticism. I hope you won’t take it the wrong way, since it has to do with the way you speak. I don’t know how it is for everyone else, but I get exhausted by the middle of the video because of the intonations in your speech not being typical for English language. Now I understand it might be something out of your control, and maybe it has something to do with me not being a native English speaker myself. I just wanted to bring it up as means of improvement and possibly attracting more subscribers if worked on. Will continue to watch and support!
Thank you! Always appreciate any feedback as otherwise I will never know :) I think the reason might be because I cut the video down A LOT. So a video might be 2 hours before I cut it to 15-18 mins. Will try to cut things less mid sentence and I think that might help a bit x
This comment was tactfully spoken. I believe Ms. LD'H is Australian; that country has a unique accent which is not so easy for non natives to understand. Most folks studying English as a second language learn a standard British or American accent, both of which are more universally accessible. Perhaps she would consider making like an actor and learning a different accent. Also, having words written on screen is helpful, perhaps she would do this more. All in all, great content, I love it and appreciate all the hard work.
Your outerwear is on another level, you have such a nice taste! Also love how detail-oriented your choices are, very sensible
Thank you so much :) xx

I love this complication of outfits with your delightful “basics “. Enjoyed the music in the checked blazer edit. Hi!!
Great explanation and logic behind your style choices. So many great outerwear pieces and love that puzzle bag!!
Thank you Kim :) Have a lovely week ahead x
I confess I have an unhealthy obsession with outerwear, so this was so enjoyable
I'm trying to picture that leather coat of yours and can imagine it to be so chic! Thank you so much xx
Happy New Year! Really enjoy watching your videos, very inspirational! Thanks my dear!
Happy new year Emily! :) Have a great week x
Outerwear for me is the main focus during winter, most of the time I don’t even take off my coat. Thanks for sharing :)
Always happy to share :) Thank you so much xx

@@DailyHelenJ I'm greatly looking forward to it!
This has inspired me to be intentional in building my outer wear collection
Thank you so much :) Hope you find some pieces you love x

Thank you for sharing Kaitlyn! It's honestly a great coat and I can see why it's a favourite :) x
Thankyou for making this video❤ lots of love and love your style ❤❤😘
Thank you for watching :) Have a lovely week x
been really enjoying the content lately! even though we don't share exactly the same style, I always get a lot of inspo from your videos :)
So happy to hear, thank you for watching :)) x

Love this video~ can you also show us how to style outerwear with blouse top? I always found it hard to style blouse with jacket/ coat.

Really interesting and informative! I love how you mix cool and warm colours with confidence. Would you consider doing a video on this?
Absolutely! Will talk about it in a video on styling colour soon :) Thank you for the idea and for watching x
Love this outfit at 4:40 with fitted top and skirt! Can you link the black skirt? 😊

Thank you Katerina! Of course, a long puffer is the ultimate practical cosy piece :) The duffle coats sound lovely as well. Have a great week ahead x
I bought two new coats this season and I love them but I find myself wishing they were a bit more oversized. Love the Petite Studios coat
I really prefer a coat that buttons up to the base of the neck. I don’t find coats without any closure, like the Curated one, at all practical.
I really love your style. Would you mind telling me where did u get your boots? Thanks

Thank you for sharing Jade! :) I do wish I had more of a chance to wear coats as well being here in Sydney :)
@@DailyHelenJ I was born in Sydney but am now in Cairns. I wear mine when I visit NSW, VIC and TAS :).

What Spray do you use for moths? You mentioned it in a comment below, I can't reply directly to a comment using RUclips web for some reason
Where you get that green jacket cardigan?
Do you really use open shoes like sandals during winter time??
I lose my fingers if I do that lol
9:52 Can anyone find this coat in black? If you will find then pass me the link please 🙏🏻
Try adding shoulder pads to the navy coat, I think you’ll like it better.
I agree! It definitely could use some shoulder pads to give it a bit more structure :)
حلو 🥺👏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don’t really like outerwear. They make feel bulky, weighed down, or top heavy. Idk, do other people feel that way?
Today, you are more gotgeoua and beautiful😍
