My thought is since primus is a cybertron he doesnt need to eat planet to survive because cybertron itself has a rich supplies of energon.

Their is a TONE of counterpoints here. Scourge & Unicron wouldn't honor their word, they'd destroy the planet regardless of if they got the key or not!
if apelinq accepts scourge's offering he become a traitor to his people and become a terrorcon like scourge.
Basically what he is trying to say, is that if unicron got his hands on the trans warp key he would be able to travel to different worlds and destroy them

But it's not gonna happen because Apelinq refuse to accept the offer, so he choose to die as hero rather than long live to see himself as villain, so he died and killed by Scourge, fortunately Scourge was defeated and killed by Optimus Prime, I think in Rise of the Beasts there is four who was died it was Apelinq, BumbleBee, Airazor and also Mirage even Apelinq & Airazor was really died & we never see them transform because Optimus Primal new leader of Maximals must says Maximize so they can transform, i think 2 Apelinq & Airazor was died & killed, both are can't alive again like Jazz killed by Megatron, Ironhide killed by Sentinel Prime, Ratchet killed by Lockdown and also Cliffjumper killed by Shatter & Dropkick, also unlike Airazor & Apelinq, for Mirage he combine and became armor of Noah Diaz, in the end he repair again and transform, greet Reek Noah's Friends and also BumbleBee was alive because for Energon Power, then BumbleBee & Mirage alive again like Optimus after killed by Megatron he alive after Sam Wtiwicky stab his body with Sparks and also Jetfire sacrifice himself to combine with Optimus Prime became his Wings.

Brother trust me i seen the mind of unicron its worse than being in the nightmare realm with freddy and the maximals planet is rich in energon and even if scourge got it he would agree to do the deal completely of sparing the home then he would tell unicron this that "master i got the key now lets hunt for planets and spare this one" then unicron could start yelling at scourge this "you think you have the guts to give me ORDERS I WILL EAT EVERY PLANET WITH ENERGON I DONT CARE " then the maximals planet will die anyway so anything wouldve happened the planet would still be eaten
