Narratively and tonally speaking, yeah, this scene definitively had to be cut. Having Optimus kill Transit right out of the gate with no build up to his character would paint him as bloodthirsty. The pacing of the final version of the film does a good job of painting Optimus’s character. Bit by bit, scene by scene, the audience gets to slowly understand why Optimus is so on edge. He just wants to go back to Cybertron, and so many events just prevent that from becoming a reality.
also don't forget that originally Optimus took Transit'S body and throw it into river under bridge. When his body fell to the bottom it shows many decepticon bodies that Optimus threw there.
I like this scene not because of the fight, which is cool and all, but the exposition is honestly really important and would have made the movie way easier to follow.
I think this scene could've worked well in the movie if Transit had talked a bit about how Optimus failed and now his hiding on this barren rock after waging a war and letting thousands die. Would've added to his guilt and how he felt in the movie and made it a bit less brutal.
Dude I can't get over this sence. Just SOOO clean and waits to say hunter and with the thunderstorm. 😊 Just the vibe is there they really did a good job with the cut scene.

I like how this movie introduces Optimus. He’s more desperate than he should be, but he’s still not above negotiating peace when he can with a Decepticon. He’s just frustrated
I get why they deleted this scene, it just makes optimus more somewhat scary and he just seems so mental and scary, and he just seems like he Woudn't care if someone died.
Fun Fact: They removed this because: 1: They thought that Optimus’ character was too inappropriate and 2: After the fight, Optimus would be seen dragging Transit’s body into the Hudson River, where we would see other Decepticon bodies. They thought that it would be inappropriate so they cut it from the movie.
as much as I agree with another comment's remark about it being a little too "murder crazy optimus" and that it was understandable that they cut it from Rise of the Beasts, I've gotta say it somewhere- this makes me wish we just got another film following the autobot and decepticon conflict as it progressed in the strenuous circumstance of being trapped on earth and out of touch with the other autobots. Rise of the Beasts feels like they just skipped straight to all the gimmicks with Unicron and the beast wars characters, big flashy things to get people's attention. I would love a far more grounded "freedom fighter struggling for their people" film from this franchise.
Bruh litteraly shatter drokick and blitzwing go to earth to find autobot,it deleted because the early screening audience found it dark and the director cut it.
i never even knew we had this beauty of a deleted scene, it was really well made and clearly was already in production to be put in the movie until it was scrapped. it wouldve been cool to see it in the movie but i feel like they were mixing the bayverse prime with the G1 live action prime and even tho i love them both i love them as two seperate primes, not mixed into one. this wouldve just made rotb prime the war criminal prime from the bayverse. this was really well executed though and im glad we got it as a deleted scene
This scene gave much nicer context to Optimus’ motive of harm. The only context we get to the more of the self defense route in the movie is Elena’s analogy of seeing him like a big brother protecting his own. But on the forefront Prime once again looks like a cold blooded killer. This scene verbatim both tells AND shows he’s not just some cuckoo PTSD war veteran.
I wish this was in the movie. It shows Optimus' lost state of mind and explains why he is the way he is throughout the film. And for him to accept dying on the planet at the end would have been a more powerful statement because it's clearly what he was afraid of. Without this scene, neither Optimus as a character or the movie as a whole really works. This movie had its moments but it was ultimately not much of anything at all to watch.
props to transit for atleast letting the innocent rider off first. the war should only be between cybertronians, should be little to no collateral involving smaller more fraigle life forms like us
Even if this is a deleted scene, i kinda hope it means the decepticon main forces will show up soon, i need more of that soundwave, shockwave and starscream design, also cant wait to see megatron
bro they even acknowledge the time skip and the lore better and it makes the autobots introduction make more sense, the movie we got felt so spliced together and messy also this was a way better opening then what we did get
Optimus/Peter Cullen: "I am Optimus prime, leader of the autobots...Or what is left of them." "Seven years ago, we fled Cybertron as it fell to the decepticons." "Our enemies followed us, and in search of safety, I led as many as I could here...earth." "now we live in hiding, disguised. Knowing if we are exposed. The people of this world will seek to capture and destroy the last of the Autobots." "We cannot stay trapped on this planet any longer. So to find a way home. I have turned from prey... to hunter."
That makes an continuty error, in the Bumblebee Movie, Charlie and Bee avoids Shatter and Dropkick to send a distress signal to the Cons', meaning that neither Megatron knows of it.
So this was actually for real? This is the scene we needed honestly! Cuz we were wondering why he was a little bit upset and had regrets taking them to earth. By the way I think this would be the first bus transformer that I have experienced. I should also point out this is Optimus keeping that bayverse feel to him in this scene. I mean that line when he says "I have turned from prey to hunter" SHEEEEEEEEESH that sent chills down my spine. That's the bayverse Optimus I remember!
The film is a "Cybertronian Hero's Journey". This scene would fit perfectly into the evolution of Optimus's heroic morale from a warrior leader troubled by exile and the loss of friends to Optimus Prime as we know it.
As cool as this was, i understand why it was cut.

How come anybody not notice what Transit sounded like he said at 2:23
😅😳
New version of Michael Bay, Optimus prime
Warcrime Prime killing another Decepticon, I see.
"War crime Prime" 😂😂
The deceptions didn't nothing wrong. They just wants to spread communist there no wrong doing.
It was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Down to its last minute details.
Bro Optimus looks like a killer 😅😅
This is a great fight scene and an awesome movie.
I get why they deleted this scene, it just makes optimus more somewhat scary and he just seems so mental and scary, and he just seems like he Woudn't care if someone died.
0:31 I just realized that there is a Forrest Gump movie poster on the right side of Transit.
Is it just me or didn’t it seem that Transit here was just chilling until Optimus came along looking for him.
This was “darker” than the opening of Scourge killing Apeling. Makes sense
I wonder why it was cut
It isn't that brutal than optimus and optimus crippling battletrap and then smashing him
Because optimus dumped transit to the Hudson River and you’ll see a lot of dead decepticon body
@@kaivensurtijo1577 oh I am sure that wouldn't be bloody, but
I was waiting for Optimus to say "So will you." That would have been so cool and on-brand for movie optimus.
as much as I agree with another comment's remark about it being a little too "murder crazy optimus" and that it was understandable that they cut it from Rise of the Beasts, I've gotta say it somewhere- this makes me wish we just got another film following the autobot and decepticon conflict as it progressed in the strenuous circumstance of being trapped on earth and out of touch with the other autobots. Rise of the Beasts feels like they just skipped straight to all the gimmicks with Unicron and the beast wars characters, big flashy things to get people's attention. I would love a far more grounded "freedom fighter struggling for their people" film from this franchise.
This explains why he was so weak against the other in the museum fight, my mans was just tired and underestimated the other guy.
Just hoping we get the complete version from the Blu-Ray
Why was this deleted?! BEST robot fight scene there.
I think it’s because the decepticons weren’t supposed to know that the autobots were in earth
Bruh litteraly shatter drokick and blitzwing go to earth to find autobot,it deleted because the early screening audience found it dark and the director cut it.
They shouldn't have deleted it. Instead, keep the intro we got in the end but use this as the introduction for optimus afterwards
Poor Transit, just wanted to have a nice rest after a hard day's work 😢
i never even knew we had this beauty of a deleted scene, it was really well made and clearly was already in production to be put in the movie until it was scrapped. it wouldve been cool to see it in the movie but i feel like they were mixing the bayverse prime with the G1 live action prime and even tho i love them both i love them as two seperate primes, not mixed into one. this wouldve just made rotb prime the war criminal prime from the bayverse. this was really well executed though and im glad we got it as a deleted scene
2:52-3:00
coldest moment in the whole scene, wish it made it into the film somehow maybe with a different enemy or something
I'd bet Michael Bay suggested this scene😂
I'd give anything to see a solo Optimus movie in the 7 years between the fall of Cybertron to the regrouping of the Autobots
Our first bus transformers and it got cancelled
props to transit for atleast letting the innocent rider off first. the war should only be between cybertronians, should be little to no collateral involving smaller more fraigle life forms like us
Wow totally understand why it was cut off.
Glad it was.
Giving me bayverse prime vib3
Do you know what I realized? I can’t think of any transformers that turn into a bus. That feels like a no-brainer.
Megatron and the Other Decepticons are probably still on Cybertron.
Even if this is a deleted scene, i kinda hope it means the decepticon main forces will show up soon, i need more of that soundwave, shockwave and starscream design, also cant wait to see megatron
That was awesome!
I love how Transit had posters of Forrest Gump and Beverly Hills Cop 2 on the sides of his vehicle mode.
i mean it is set in the 90s so good work on the cgi crew for that part
bro they even acknowledge
the time skip and the lore better and it makes the autobots introduction make more sense, the movie we got felt so spliced together and messy also this was a way better opening then what we did get
Bro said he won’t destroy him…
If he gave him the information he wanted, which he didn’t.
The fact that we didn’t get transit officially is a crime
0:32 Twin Towers in the distance.
I have turned from prey... to hunter."
Badass Optimus fight:❌
Half an hour backstory for human characters nobody cares about: ✅
What are they even thinking?
That makes an continuty error, in the Bumblebee Movie, Charlie and Bee avoids Shatter and Dropkick to send a distress signal to the Cons', meaning that neither Megatron knows of it.
The scene was too cold to make it to the movie, just shows how good this is
Thank you so much🙏🙏 for giving the video straight up rather speaking blah blah blah like other useless youtubers
We need to see Transit’s character rig in a future movie!
Best scene in the film.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd it's not even, you know, IN the film.
I wish we had this and the current beginning of the movie
So this was actually for real? This is the scene we needed honestly! Cuz we were wondering why he was a little bit upset and had regrets taking them to earth. By the way I think this would be the first bus transformer that I have experienced. I should also point out this is Optimus keeping that bayverse feel to him in this scene. I mean that line when he says "I have turned from prey to hunter" SHEEEEEEEEESH that sent chills down my spine. That's the bayverse Optimus I remember!
So Decepticons WERE going to be in this film? Wow! But why did they cut it!?
According to test audiences it was too brutal.
lol like how he was insulting optimist whilst he was dyeing😂
For a deleted scene, you can see the cgi animation still in process, and some of the bits looked finished.
We need a fight between transit and bonecrusher that whoukd be a fight for the ages
The film is a "Cybertronian Hero's Journey". This scene would fit perfectly into the evolution of Optimus's heroic morale from a warrior leader troubled by exile and the loss of friends to Optimus Prime as we know it.
bro this is more like nemesis prime! n m loving it
This should have been put after the prologue of Unicron devouring the planet of the Maximals.
