“That doesn’t explain why she is a simple fortune teller in Castle Town, rather than serving the Royal Family in secret.” Well, I beg to differ! A visit or two from a royal messenger now and then, nobody is the wiser to the eccentric woman telling fortunes in just another street of the town. Quite incognito, that Fanadi.
Bubble Wrap Poor Impaz was forced to stay in a ghost town all alone and watch her friends and family die-either from illness or starvation or injury or Just OldAge. So, it’s more likely she’s hiding FROM the royal family. Renaldo and his daughter are hinted to be descended from the Sheikah and possibly Gerudo, as is Thelma and the Twili. Basically...the Gerudo (and probably Yiga) were marched across the desert and either died that way or were killed by the sword with whoever survived forced through the Mirror to become the Twili. The Sheikah were instead locked inside their village “by royal order” until a “Messenger from the Heavens” arrived (to save them) Impaz’s statue is identical to Renaldo’s Aesthetic, and at one point his village was on good terms with the Gorons...so it’s highly likely that the Gorons actively sheltered as many Sheikah and Gerudo as they could (who then intermarried and eventually rebuilt as New Kakariko or settled in Castle Town as Renaldo’s and Thelma’s and possibly Fanadi’s ancestors) Which, the Twili Symbol is extremely similar to the Yiga’s Reversed Eye, besides them fitting the description of the “interlopers” with “shadow magic”. (Which is all in line with the Royal Family choosing to go with Genocide to deal with nonHylian Humans who are “not in line” or “too powerful” even if they DO try to conform to Hylian Fascism. I've actually felt in OoT that the Gerudo have their own path of the King so to speak. Kind of like how BotW has the path to being a hero, I feel each ruler had to go through their own trials in order to prove themselves worthy. The Gerudo Training Grounds would have been the beginning, then the desert, and finally the Spirit Temple. The Poe itself I feel was linked to the Gerudo as a guide to the most difficult challenge of all. Not just the Spirit Temple, but being able to get back on your own once you accomplished the trials. Perhaps it was a being like Koume and Kotake, but with less of its own identity. It's is merely a spirit guide in the empty desert with only one purpose. A sad life, but one necessary to help the Gerudo face the harsh world around them.
Same name in Japanese, too! Perhaps Malanya's some sort of ascended reincarnation or descendant of Malon? She wouldn't exactly have been immortal as a random farm girl, but the ruins of a ranch strikingly similar to hers are in BOTW...
With lore or not, I still think that's a cool reference. Malon was an important character especially correlating with Epona, so it kinda fits. Tho I recall somewhere in the 'Creating a Champion' book that the stable designs were actually modelled by the people after Epona, the "hero's horse", and not Melanya himself (correct me if I'm wrong tho). So maybe there is an actual connection with Melanya and Malon because the designs w/ Epona are strikingly similar? Idk but still cool.

I wouldn't be surprised if the wind tribe were descendants of a certain, older sky people, specifically a red-haired hero we all know and love... I also have a theory on Malanya. He seems to have strong connections to not only horses but Malon herself. Malanya's name in the japanese version is actually Maron, which is the japanese name for Malon. I like to imagine Malon was named after this horse god, as Epona's name actually comes from a celtic goddess of horses, so for Malon's name to come from an in-game horse deity seems like a cool idea.

Have you ever made a video about how you got started on this platform? I'm sure it takes a lot of work and prep for what you do. I'd love to hear about it.
I'd like to say that the Phantom Guide might have been one of the builders of the Spirit Temple, to help guide the gerudo towards their place of worship. And so, even in death, she still fulfils her duty of guiding travellers through the deadly sands.
That doesn't necessarily mean that she is one, though. It's not that odd to think that perhaps most people view the symbols of the Shieka as symbols of clairvoyance and mysticism in general, causing her to use them to help herself better look the part of a fortune teller, like how it's a bit of a cliche for real-life fortune tellers to use a foreign-sounding alias to make themselves seem more exotic.
My personal theory regarding Fanadi is that it's possible Shieka symbols are just viewed by most people in Hyrule as being mystical and mysterious, so she uses them since they help make her looks more "authentic," like a real-life fortune teller adopting a foreign-sounding alias to make themself seem more foreign and exotic.
I dont really see Link as a avatar, to me that interpretation just opens a huge can of worms about how he doesn't represent people well. Link is like Mario, a character in his own right but still blank for the sake of "putting yourself in the game."
I never knew you could turn that lone Cucco into a human girl! Gregal kind of reminded me of the character who gets lost in the Lost Woods in Ocarina of Time.

Maybe the Wind folks are the Zonai and Grego is who we actually see on the tapestry in Breath of the Wild. The Zonai aren't gone, they just fled into the sky.
Actually, I've heard that Fanadi, Agitha and Telma are all designed as homages to the Sheikah, Kokiri and Gerudo respectively, given that neither of the three races really appear in the actual game. And it would be easy to headcanon that they just are those races. I mean, it would explain why Agitha lives all alone in her own house while being a child: she's far older than she looks!
what if the wind tribe is actually the Zonai tribe? it would explain their sudden disappearance with them all going to the sky and such. and what about the red hair, it would seem as though every member of the wind tribe has red hair, which could link to the barbarians outfit in BOTW, which has relations to the mysterious tribe. not to mention that @Zeltik also said they live in ruins... like zonai ruins.
Oh Cuccos, how I used to use you for dodge training. Way back when i was a lad, I'd whack em, and see how long i could avoid em. Got pretty damn good too.
Im sure this has already been suggested by now, but I feel that the desert ghost could be someone who died after getting lost - the ghost version of what happens in the Lost Woods. The plaque could be a warning from ppl who had previously gone through the desert with - and then without - the help of this ghost. Or maybe they were just a regular ghost, but bound to serve the desert - but is using a hole in the wording to only help one. "You shall guide any new travelers through the desert", since you're technically not a new traveler when you're heading back. I know this is a month old, but I hope you keep making these videos, they're really interesting
A video I'd like you to do one day is answer the question, "How many races or communities have been created that dwelt in the sky above Hyrule?" Skyloft, of course, was the first (I think anyways), but there was one in TP and the Wind Tribe you mention in the video. Surely there's a fantastic wealth of history and lore to explore on this topic?
Skyloftians (1) Loftwings(2), Levias, Batreaux, Beedle, Wind Tribe(3), Oocca (4). Note sky regions are often refered to as Heavens in english, and if we keep that translation where it's used not only literally but also mythically/spiritually, Lokomo Tribe(5), Spirits of Good(6), and The 3 Goddesses. Aswell as 2 Towers relating to Heaven(s), Majora's Mask's Stone Tower dungeon, and Oracle of Ages' tower/lighthouse converted/subverted into a tower of Babble.

@@anonymousfellow8879 They're both guys with soothing accents that cover lore and secrets of their respective games and are the most popular RUclipsr of their genre. That's it really, I'm not trying to say they're identical. I just think they both fulfill similar roles in their communities.
@@anonymousfellow8879 To clear things up, there is a RUclipsr under the name VaatiVidya that make cinematic retellings of the lore of the Souls series. He is comparing Zeltik to him, not the Vaati from the Zelda franchise.
@@OneOnlyDan Oh, that makes a lot more sense. Thanks for the clarification 😂
I'm happy to see more Minish Cap being mentioned!
He mentions it all the damn time
We'llAlwaysHave VALIS
Yeah, but the problem is basically nobody else does
@@WeWillAlwaysHaveVALIS exactly
I'll NEVER catch anything Minish Cap. It's one of few I've never played.
Same!
"anyone can stand up and conquer evil so long as they have courage." And are the reincarnation of an ancient hero, superhuman, literally have a sword to beat the evil 99% of except for the occasion when it's a different brand, but you'll get another item for that anyway.
Have you ever made a video about how you got started on this platform? I'm sure it takes a lot of work and prep for what you do. I'd love to hear about it.
Yeah, a little behind the scenes episode would be cool.
The sequence 4:00 - 5:20 absolutely destroyed my ears with the two musics playing together
Great video mate! Always love some Minish Cap coverage :D
I could listen to his voice all day!! 😍♥️
So could I
Wanna listen to mine 😏
Normally I wouldn’t care but you put love emojis in so it kinda makes me feel uncomfortable
Who the dude wiper 1000 commercial guy?
Miguel Serra SIMP
Agitha is one of my favorite unexplained characters in the zelda series
I always felt like Agitha just liked bugs and that was it XD
I like her design and house a lot
@@DeathnoteBB she’s also likely a serial killer, but details.
I'd like to say that the Phantom Guide might have been one of the builders of the Spirit Temple, to help guide the gerudo towards their place of worship. And so, even in death, she still fulfils her duty of guiding travellers through the deadly sands.
“We’ll never know if Fanadi is a Sheika or not”
**stares at her Sheika tattoo on her forehead**
That doesn't necessarily mean that she is one, though. It's not that odd to think that perhaps most people view the symbols of the Shieka as symbols of clairvoyance and mysticism in general, causing her to use them to help herself better look the part of a fortune teller, like how it's a bit of a cliche for real-life fortune tellers to use a foreign-sounding alias to make themselves seem more exotic.
Me: wakes up,
Zeltik: oh hello there!
Me: *happiness noise*
My personal theory regarding Fanadi is that it's possible Shieka symbols are just viewed by most people in Hyrule as being mystical and mysterious, so she uses them since they help make her looks more "authentic," like a real-life fortune teller adopting a foreign-sounding alias to make themself seem more foreign and exotic.
That transition from video to ad read was so slick
The horse god Great Fairy sometimes appears in the Great Fairies’ critical strikes in Age of Calamity.
I dont really see Link as a avatar, to me that interpretation just opens a huge can of worms about how he doesn't represent people well.
Link is like Mario, a character in his own right but still blank for the sake of "putting yourself in the game."
I like how Fanadi's spell is just her saying "What am I talking about" over and over.
I read this really sad fanfic where Malanya was the spirit of Malon from Ocarina of Time just centuries later still protecting horses
I’m not first
I’m not last
But zeltik uploaded
And I’m a happy lad
You’re always last.
I never knew you could turn that lone Cucco into a human girl! Gregal kind of reminded me of the character who gets lost in the Lost Woods in Ocarina of Time.
it always makes me so happy seeing minish cap talked about! It’s such an amazingly great game and it has such a special place in my heart :’)
I’ve just thought. I wonder how spread out the memories are in breath of the wild. I mean, if they’re all meant to happen as fast as possible, then that’s not too difficult to find out. But now I’m really curious as too how long Link has been protecting Zelda in the game.
What’s not a mystery is how to use today’s sponsor, nord VPN
Wow Zeltik, slick, reeeaaaal slick.
I love his vids, but the sponsor mentions take me out of it. Also, this has a paid promotion and has ads? I can respect the business but that just leaves me feeling a tad bit icky
@@jepicondyle money is money, if ya don't like it, dont watch it
@@entruh4520 No we should boycott Nord VPN
c'mon, Zeltik, like anyone, is just trying to survive during these crazy times. If you're upset about breaking immersion, then sorry to say, he jumped between 5 different Zelda games and styles, so it was broken after the first character.
Aethus yea i hear you. But I’m not talking about immersion with the games. I’m speaking of immersion with the narrative of his videos. The flow is great until the product placement. And i feel it would be exactly the same whether or no not this year is how it is or not.
The Phantom Poe is a poor dude who died in the desert and now helos others.
Courage from Twilight Princess in the background 🥺🥺🥺 Big nostalgia hours
I'd never noticed that about Fanadi. She also happens to be one of the rare people in Twilight Princess who has Hylian ears to better hear the goddesses.
Congrats Zeltik on 400,000 subscribers, you are by far my favorite Zelda theorist on RUclips.
Keep up the good work!
Please, more like this! I love the creepy little mysteries of Zelda.
Salesman on the magic carpet in OoT
HEY ZELTIK! I absolutely Love your videos man! And I really hope you never stop making them! They are one of my favorite things to do in my off time when I’m not busy! And I was wondering if you could try and find anything lore behind Links Family bloodline or Zeldas Family Bloodline! The lore behind they’re parents and how link and Zelda always come about in every new incarnation!!! It’d be really cool to learn about! But MAN!! Do I Absolutely Love your videos
8:04 I love the little detail of the backwards "Wait... Loading takes awhile..." which could reference the fact that in order to show the relevant area, it takes a quick moment to load the data in order to render.
I've been playing A Link To The Past since I was a little kid and have beaten it more times than I can remember, and I had no idea that there's a cucco that can be transformed into a person.
Casually kills the Poe
The composer brother: NOT AGAIN
😴 That is one question I've never thought of, who is the desert ghost in OoT and i am a big fan of OoT.🤔 I'm intrigued and I'm commenting before watching the video btw 😅
U wanna put any more emojis or what
Who's the desert trader? That's the real question.
Absolutely love this type of series
I know there's plenty of theories on him that offer good explanations, but the origin of bongo bongo and the "man that could see the truth" has always really interested me.
Always look forward to watching your videos.
hi zeltik! love your work, any way you can reupload your video on the morse code in the botw dungeon music? that was one of my favorite videos of yours and i was so sad to see it taken down. I'd love to see it back so i can give it the love it deserves again
Maybe the Wind folks are the Zonai and Grego is who we actually see on the tapestry in Breath of the Wild. The Zonai aren't gone, they just fled into the sky.
Hands-down, one of my favorite channels
I love your intro and outro music
Actually, I've heard that Fanadi, Agitha and Telma are all designed as homages to the Sheikah, Kokiri and Gerudo respectively, given that neither of the three races really appear in the actual game. And it would be easy to headcanon that they just are those races. I mean, it would explain why Agitha lives all alone in her own house while being a child: she's far older than she looks!
I dont know why but I found all the poes in OoT just so adorable. Nice btw
Exciting, never thought of em like this before
Fanadi’s chant read backwards is, "What am I talking about."
It’s a major, hmmm ain’t it!
what if the wind tribe is actually the Zonai tribe?
it would explain their sudden disappearance with them all going to the sky and such.
and what about the red hair, it would seem as though every member of the wind tribe has red hair, which could link to the barbarians outfit in BOTW, which has relations to the mysterious tribe.
not to mention that @Zeltik also said they live in ruins... like zonai ruins.
I had NO idea that bit was in the Link to Past and I've played that game over a dozen times. o__o
Oh Cuccos, how I used to use you for dodge training. Way back when i was a lad, I'd whack em, and see how long i could avoid em. Got pretty damn good too.
you're so close to 400K ! congrats !
4:04 when i first saw Malanya the first Voice that Popped into my head was Rafiki From The Lion King
ROAD TO 400K! btw best vid ive ever watched (no cap)
I think it's funny that the fortune teller days "what am I talking about... what am I talking about" backwards
"mini series" YES PLEASE
These videos are so satisfying during this pandemic
frick yeah zeltik upload
Love your videos man I’ve damn near watched all of them
Zeltik uploads are among the few things I live for
That sponsor transition was clean!
Given how the Gust Jar is found in Deepwood Shrine, a Minish structure, I doubt it was the same one used by Gregal.
congrats on 400k zeltik!!
Bro eponas song layered over great fairy song gave me mad chills
Im sure this has already been suggested by now, but I feel that the desert ghost could be someone who died after getting lost - the ghost version of what happens in the Lost Woods. The plaque could be a warning from ppl who had previously gone through the desert with - and then without - the help of this ghost. Or maybe they were just a regular ghost, but bound to serve the desert - but is using a hole in the wording to only help one. "You shall guide any new travelers through the desert", since you're technically not a new traveler when you're heading back. I know this is a month old, but I hope you keep making these videos, they're really interesting
The "fowl bretheren" pun didnt go unnoticed
that ad segway was legendary
Fanadi’s fortune teller gig may very well be a cover. A metaphorical face she can show to the public.
Best thing to watch in the morning
i love how gregle polishes his head at 3:19
the haunted wastelans and spirit temple are so memorable to me for some reason ♡♡
I’m from Brazil and I don’t miss one single video of yours. Keep rockin’, man!
Congrats on 400k subscribers Zeltik!
Gregal reminds me of Kilton in BOTW, in the appearance. Keep up the great work by the way! :D
I love when you use Twilight Princess music in these videos!
I literally completed the wind ruins before watching this.
I never knew about the Light Arrows in Minish Cap!
All I can say is Zelda dungeons are some of my all time favorite gaming moments
A video I'd like you to do one day is answer the question, "How many races or communities have been created that dwelt in the sky above Hyrule?"
Skyloft, of course, was the first (I think anyways), but there was one in TP and the Wind Tribe you mention in the video.
Nicholas Penning Yeah, it’s hard for me not to make a connection between all of them. I’d very much like to get a full video essay on the topic :D
so i kinda found this channel while getting back into the zelda games with BOTW. do you have or have planned on doing creepy pastas?
Plot twist: The Poe that leads you through the gerudo dessert, was the original Link, in SS!
lol
