Thank You for choosing RHYOBI! I purchased the Hedge Trimmer and am amazed that it can cut tiny " trees" and branches. The battery lasts over 30 minutes. No more hooking up 400 feet of chord or worrying about cutting the chord.Im up to owning 6 different tools and growing.
I used my Ryobi multi tool to remove old kitchen cabinets and when I installed wood flooring. It's a handy tool to have around and worth the investment.
Thank you, Shannon Evans, for your video. Regarding 4:03, the Grout Removal Tool is actually Carbide enhanced rather than "Carbon" enhanced. Carbides are very hard and durable abrasive grit used for cutting or grinding. An example is Tungsten Carbide.
In case anyone is wondering if they bought the latest one but wonder why it is different than the latest one shown here, the lock mechanism has changed. Instead of the flip up lever at the top that releases that silver rectangle clamp, instead it is now a long black pin that gets unlocked. You put the blade on, push the pin back in, then close the flip lever to lock it.
Very informative video, thanks! I'm slowly building my Ryobi collection... So far I have a combi drill, impact driver, glue gun and have just ordered a SDS drill. Next on my wishlist is a multi-tool, caulking gun & heat gun.. By the way, Shannon you are 🔥🔥🔥.
I look forward to buying one , after doing a lot drywall and cutting by hand and having to use a chisel and hammer for trim this will be a nice addition to my tools
I’ve got the bastardized system. Ryobi handle and battery, Rigid multi tool head. I’ve a whole collection of Rigid heads for that one Ryobi handle. Multi tool, saws all, right angle impact, right angle drill, right angle ratchet. It’s a pretty good set up for a home owner. Cheaper than buying complete tools.
So how do I get close to the ceiling so I can cut the drywall that leads to it? The rotating circular blade won't let me do it. Do I need to change to a different accessory?
I wish I had the extra money to get the brushless model when I bought mine. The tooless blade change and switch instead of the trigger would suit me much better but it was like a $50 difference at Home Depot at the time so no thank you. I can't even get someone to unlock the cages to buy a battery. Sadly when my Ryobi batteries die, my tools will probably get replaced one by one.
Is mine a defect because I really really have to try hard (with 2 hands) to turn it on/off. It's frustrating because I love the tool and everything else. Right now, it's actually a dangerous tool to use since on and off requires a lot of effort.
Put a piece of masking tape round the blade with the top edge at the required depth. When the material you are cutting touches the tape, you are at the correct depth. Same way you would do with drill bits.
Which blade is used to cut tile and concrete? Your advertising says this multi-tool can cut these items but none of your literature is specific on which blade is the one to use.
The video fails to show how to install an accessory on the standard multi-tool. To wit: How to release the mounting, install the accessory the correct way around and correct alignment, secure and check for safety before use. The Manual also does nor show how to do this. I'm still searching the internet.
I can install and uninstall but in use, the hex screw comes undone and the blade unlocks. This is extremely dangerous. The hex screw has no preventitive for unscrewing.
Same I've just bought one from Amazon and instructions are useless and blade keeps falling off. Don't understand what I'm doing wrong. It is just a nut that you lock in place using an Allan key
I clicked because it was a woman talking about the tool (and as a woman looking ti use the tool, I liked this). I lingered because of the sexy RYOBI tool wall behind her. I stayed (and hit the Thumbs Up) because of the information. Great job!
A woman who knows the tool she wants and how she wants to use it. Importantly knowing how to turn it on and use a two hand grip on it. What's not to like 😊
I wonder if it’s because the standard blades keep coming loose from the vibration. I just got mine today and the blades keep coming undone after about 30 seconds. I’m returning and getting the brushless for this exact reason.
@@kaylaspiroff6156 Unfortunately, mine does the same thing. This is dangerous. Also, I got mine a couple years ago and never used it until today. What a mistake the standard model is. And I can't return it.
only issues I had was manual has ZERO info on speed settings or a chart and none of the blades can go through a 2x4 because they are too short except for Harbour Freight 1-3/4 in. Bi-Metal, not for wood.
Serously why are you trying to cut a 2x4 with a multi tool......... Use a hand saw, jigsaw, circular saw but not a multi tool which a much more refined cutter for precise cuts. I bought one because my jigsaw died and really didn't need another one as I have a circular saw. Multi tool fits the bill for cutting holes for electrical boxes in skirting boards.
My multi tool does not have the release mechanism to change attachments. You have both sitting there on the video and didn't show how to change the other one. This video is no good to me!🤨
Mine also does not have the release mechanism but if you look at the base of the tool just above the battery, you will find a little hex tool slotted in position. Use that to loosen and tighten the screw thingy where and when you change blades.
I think one thing every house can agree on is that never once should any part ever go missing for any polotical non sence! Not even once! Why is this? What does that accomplish? And secret borrowers don't count! Why is this?
I am going to go play with my tool right now!
Oh, you found your tweezers?

The multiple tool is amazing, I used it recently with the sanding attachment to get in to a corner while adding board and batten to my office.
Great Video! Didn't know what this tool was/did until I saw your video. Cool Tool! Thank you.
love the video !

would love this item to come in its own case with room to store its blades

I bought the Rigid 3/8" square drive Ratchet head. It's great!
I haven't even taken this out of the box until I watched this today ..I had no idea what it was used for..(2 years later)
How do you use the hex?

Love the music. Gonna play this for my first dance with my lovely bride.

What are the model numbers on these? Why did Ryobi not present the model with tilt-head?
Where is the r18mt sold ?
Father loves it
Does the saw have a depth stop? I.e. a depth guard to keep you from cutting too deep?
Put a piece of masking tape round the blade with the top edge at the required depth. When the material you are cutting touches the tape, you are at the correct depth. Same way you would do with drill bits.
Which blade is used to cut tile and concrete? Your advertising says this multi-tool can cut these items but none of your literature is specific on which blade is the one to use.
An angle grinder with diamond blade. Corded tools may not be as convenient but they work twice as well.

Hahaha.... don't buy a tool you have no idea how to use. I probably saved you 10k 🤣🤣🤣.
@@mikelowery482what if you were gifted tools lol
I'm having the same issue. Blade turns 1/4 turn or flys off!
Bought one, couldn't cut butter. Blades made from mild steel?
If you leave your butter on the counter for a few minutes it will soften up.

I didn't get any of these tools that are supposed to go with it!
Yeah it’s great but mine broke snapped off at the oscillating head while fitting the kitchen? Not even two years old.
Would be more helpful for beginners if you not only changed it on the easy bit change model but also on the standard tool model
Nice informative video, but find the music too much.
what speed you should set when you are cutting nails.
I have the HP multi tool and it’s been awesome for furniture work! Especially when I need to sand in tight spaces or remove small pieces of wood.

She didn’t show how to replace the blades on the standard model. I’m still confused. 😕

I was sent one of these instead of the circular saw I ordered. Thought I'd just try it. So far I'm not impressed. Tried to cut a 2 by in two.
Would love to win the tools with Christina M, she inspires me and so do the tools!!!
my blades seem to come loose alot, I have the brush model
what model? RYOBI PCL430B ?
dont need the music.
dont need Dave either but here we are
I have a brand new Ryobi multi tool and the blade just loosens and falls off the second you try to use it

Ryobi never disappoints. Most terroble documentation
Just had my second one stop working within 2 days, maybe used for 5mins each tops.
Do Not Buy

Don't throw away the instructions. They are very clear on this, and it's quite simple.
The video as usual is misnamed. It shows mostly obvious instructions and 5 or 10 seconds of how to actually use it.
Err that's EXACTLY what 101 means.
Thanks for not covering anything about the standard model.. 🤡

I'd watch if it was narrated by someone who knows something about tools....
Isn't it pronounced RYE-O-BEE, not ree-o-bee?
No
