Chanel actually reported me to Ebay for an intellectual property violation. I had listed the Christmas eyeshadow palette just before Christmas and added ' +samples&charm'...as in plus they came with it, but they reported me to Ebay for 'selling samples' in their eyes, which was not the case. It was obvious I am a small time Ebayer who only sells a few personal bits and pieces occasionally. I am usually buying, not selling. I had only listed the eyeshadow as I had bought something else more suitable from Chanel for granddaughter's present. Honestly can't believe they pay some-one to scan Ebay for some random person selling an eyeshadow to report, particularly since Ebay is full of fake colour codes compacts and such like. What a truly petty, awful company they have become. They are literally alienating their bread and butter customers and treating them like garbage. Another thing that really concerns me is, if their bags have become such low quality, what exactly is going into their skincare and make-up these days? : /
I've heard of this happening with someone at Hermes. Makes me not want to shop at any designer places. If I can't return or sell an item I bought then I'll be hesitant to buy anything in the future. Not to mention if an items mine, how can someone make a claim to it saying I can't resell it? Did I sign a contract that I won't resell the makeup palette that I don't like?
@@anonymous-uo7cb This is exactly what my argument with Ebay was, if I have paid for something surely it is now legally mine to do as I wish, but when looking it up, apparently the logo is still the intellectual property of Chanel. In my case, when I got on to Chanel they said it was because I was selling the samples that were not for resale, but I wasn't, I had added them as coming with the palette. Some-one else here in the comments had a perfume taken down from Ebay. As you say, it makes you think twice about buying anything at all.
The reason Chanel sues the tiny mall shop is to instill fear into the regular shop owner. The knowledge that the shop owner may be homeless from all the legal fees, is supposed to scare shop owners from using the CC logos.
What about people who bought the Chanel Advent Number 5 with so many junk stickers, elastic bands, etc for $800 , should the clients sue them was a huge rip off??' Yes, as you said so well they should sue themself. Poor Gabriel is getting so tacky...mamma mia che orrore.
Dacob, we don't use your imperial law system in Europe. We don't go by precedents, we go by written rules and regulations so whatever Chanel does must pass already existing laws.
Just last week, Chanel made me take down a full bottle of Chanel Misia I was selling on Ebay due to some violation or other! One bottle, not fake. Incredible that they even bothered to do this. They should mind their own business!
@@lambofGod886 They reported me to Ebay too for policy violation. I was selling a new eyeshadow and added +samples&charm as was selling in original packing. Contacted Chanel to ask why and they said I was 'selling' the samples, which I was not. Utter ridiculous!
Hi, Dacob! Precedents do not matter much in Europe, because we have roman law system, not Anglo-Saks. So we are safe😀 however I am shocked they sue this kiosk, it is almost like to sue individual who bought and is trying to sell their fake bag, but there are millions of such individuals as well as such kiosks, and you are absolutely right about timing and approach at all. If they are so irritated by such businesses, they would better invest in lobbing new law that would oblige shopping centers to check from time to time the eligibility of products sold in their centers, or something like this.
The Chanel situation with the perfume store is similar to salon brand hair products being sold in grocery stores. I have a nail tech license. In order to buy products from distributors like Cosmoprof I had to sign forms stating that I will not resell products to people that are not authorized to sell salon products (both distributor forms and individual manufacturer forms). If you are caught doing this you not only do you lose the ability buy from the distributor you are also in legal trouble. This is called the "gray market".
Haha I actually thought the AirPod cover was actual Chanel design from afar lol😂 love your outfit combo today! That blue colour really brings out your nice complexion 😊❤
@@SuperDacob Hahaha! I mean, I wouldn't put it past Chanel to come out with them (if they do - I need you to remember this comment and report to us accordingly!) xx
The over consumption and branding of Chanel fakes out there has bastardized any authenticity wearing anything CC. When you’re at Walmart and Aldi and women shopping are draped in Cc logo you know it’s over!
Do you know I guess yes as you know all, about Chanel did sue back then the Italian manufactory of the bags for overproduction, and they lost their case?
That is so pathetic. That means they are afraid of those cheap bad taste thingis with CC logo? What should that tell us ? 🤣 to me Chanel is dead 💀 Vintage yes the rest a big NO
are you good at looking at vintage Chanel - I think I have a OG olive green 1950s double flap ..no label but its all there is there a way to send ya pictures ? EVERYTHING is chanel minus the label ..
It's odd the security guards are in trouble because the US has the castle doctrine which allows lethal force to be used against home invasion. While a store is not someone's home, I really don't see why a store can't use at least sufficient force to maim in order to protect itself from theft when there is a clear and explicit threat of theft taking place.
Notino has relatively high market power among European 'aspirational' clients. So, in the words of Elon Musk, Chanel can go &?#@ itself. It will just lose access to its cash cows.

Ok, but to play devils advocate, if you don’t watch how your brand and logo is being used then little by little it erodes the meaning of the brand.
