My mind is absolutely blown that people are still spending their money on Chanel bags. First, the quality does not match the price (not even CLOSE). Second, customers are treated like chumps by the Chanel employees. Time to let this brand go.
Bag *gtdupe* is versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the *gtdupe* ) is proof that it's already a classic.
*hotdups* The canvas tote actually reminds me of the Hermes Garden Party too. Thanks for making this video to suggest more budget friendly alternatives. love it!
This is why I love Louis Vuitton. They repaired my bag for free with no issues because the edges of the straps were "melting" due to the glazing they used. Took a while because this was back during Covid, but much better customer service, in my opinion.
Agree, LV is great. They have something for everyone, and I have never had an issue with quality on anything I have purchased -- and I have a variety of types of bags from them.
I sell bags and buy genuine and fake ones. Many times I've been asked about the Prada bags I post and people think are real, I always tell them it's a fake bag they bought on *condup* and they can't believe it.
I very recently ordered an ostrich Louis Vuitton Pocket Organizer. My SA let me know that it had arrived and they brought it out and said we haven't opened it we wanted to open it wth you. So they did and I immediately saw a mark on the leather. It was a tiny mark but still it was damaged. They could not have been nicer about it. They immediately started appologizing and said this is unacceptable, this never should have been sent out. They said we will find another one and have this here in three days. Its sad that Chanel treats people like that. Its not a luxury experience at all.
Honestly speaking, Chanel bags are more delicate. Although the inner linings are leathers in my vintage Chanel’s, I am afraid to strength the pockets with cell phones or keys. Color transfers are expected on light colored lambskins. The bottom of Chanel bags are not structured as we need to carry light or use a base liner . People said Hermes bags are more durable. Actually, most of their leathers are thicker and can sag and become slouchy looking. My Hermes closure (coated with platinum) also has a lot of lite scratches. I guess these bags are very delicate. Not like gold jewelries which could last forever. Maybe invest in gold jewelries instead of luxury bags? 😂
I don't understand why do you guys keep rewarding Chanel with your money knowing all of the quality issues with their bags. if you the customer Stop rewarding Chanel for bad quality they will listen.
You are their customer. You notice a flaw in a very high-priced bag. Apparently, NO ONE who actually works for Chanel noticed it. Not the person who sews it, the inspector, the managers, the supervisor, the sales agents. No one. You notice it, you don't want to buy it and then they diss you? Speaks volumes. They didn't like that you noticed something they all overlooked.
Yeah, I'm sorry you had this experience. This is why I cannot get into Hermes and Chanel with their games. The way the sales associates just don't care because they can just sell it to another. Only way to make all this stop is that we don't purchase from the brands anymore.
THANK YOU so much for this video!!! We need more honesty about these newer generation "luxury" bags. I keep hearing the worst things about these 'modern' Chanel bags & their poor quality. Some people are only buying *vintage* chanel because they were clearly higher quality. For these same prices, I think the quality of Dior is much higher (so are the leather Longchamps!) & they both probably have better customer service, too. I have a medium Lady Dior that is impeccable in metallic lambskin with zero problems after 5yrs. I'm not a chanel girl at all, and thanks to your video my suspicions & hesitation to buy chanel are reaffirmed. I love that barbie pink color of your bag, but that is A LOT of trouble & inconvenience for something so expensive. Thank you for telling us what happened.
My Black Classic Handbag with the silver metal also rusted, funny thing is I’ve take it out maybe 6 times? Bought it a year ago for over $9,500. Super disappointing trying to get anything fixed there, I stopped calling. Chanel just doesn’t care anymore.
Wow! Chanel will not get any of my $$ unless it’s vintage. I am hearing nothing but quality issues with their bags. I know they contract vendors to make quite a few of their bags so they do not care about quality anymore…they just want us to be like sheep and assume they still have the quality of the past. In the last 15 years they have opened up so many boutiques…..so to keep inventory in all these boutiques they started using independent contractor factories to make some of their bags….and there goes the quality. Sometime growth is not the best…as we can clearly see with their new bags.
This *yutulu* tote is beautifully colored, very sturdy and the perfect size. Not too small, not too big. I look forward to joining my rotation hand-pink-waving
I can’t believe THE MANAGER tried to convince you to get a DEFECTED bag. That’s horrible sooo horrible. Because I’m sure some people feel embarrassed to say no. But they actually tried. Also a shame that the SA you talked to didn’t send you a picture of the bag you were thinking of. So sorry that happened to you. Exactly the price of Chanel with the inconsistent quality AND service is so disappointing.
I saw the non alignment in that bag in the Washington DC boutique also. The SA showed me three bags that had that non alignment. I think you are right about favorite customers getting the top quality bags. I think there are Chanel seconds that they try to see to anyone they can.
I still love my LV reverse monogram *yutulu* clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
How crazy that the super fakes are now like too perfect! And the real ones are the ones with imperfections , slanted, have some stitching issues… I noticed it with some of my chanel 😭😭😭
Sorry to hear about your experience with a recent Chanel bag you got. This bag doesn’t seem to bring joy to you anymore so I would recommend getting preloved & getting your current bag repaired to it’s best condition as possible & just sell it off to refinance a preloved Chanel instead. I just got a preloved Chanel Jumbo CF that’s made in 2011 aka 13 YO & it’s still in pristine condition. Has this super nice subtle leather smell too even after so many years. Best thing is it’s a third of the current retail price. I have been using it as my daily office bag & loving it! ❤
Oh my goodness what an absolute disaster!! I’m so sorry you had to go through this. The way you were treated is not acceptable. Not to mention the disgraceful quality of the bag. Mine is several years old now but I believe as time has gone on the quality has diminished.
Thank you for posting this video. You were treated very badly in the first instance, there is no excuse for a retailer to do this. The pink bag is not a deal colour for you with your deep rich colour, so needs an adjustment and thought when you wear it. My commiserations.
I can't believe people still waste their money on these luxury brands that treat you like shit! That is an insane story. The bag in the video totally looks like a Primark bag as you said.
So whats the luxury handbag brand would you reccomend for the quality & customer service? Trying to get my first luxury bag! Thank you! Btw your video is really helpful!! I feel your frustation even though im not the one who purchased it. The way they didn't care is making me mad!
It’s a fragile bag, delicate calfskin in a very light color. So of course color transfer with jeans (everyone knows it…), the stitches thing is a real problem but it was fixed… This bag is light and not eternal. I don’t know how it has been used but it’s normal to get scratches and wrinkles on the leather… If you can’t afford it don’t buy it ;) save yourself the trouble or just accept the fact that it’s just a bag… you won’t pass it down to your children or get rich thanx to it.
I'm so sorry that you has this experience. I.appreciate that you are willing to.share your experience. Who is keeping them in business? Those people I know that could easily. Afford these bags would NEVER spemd.their hard earned money on this junk or put up with the.ignorance of the sales person . I'd love to know who buys this.sruff..
I''m so sorry, what a disaster! I have a vintage caviar rectangle sakura pink from 2013.Highly recommend you go pre-loved. I have been told not to buy anything post 2020 because of quality issues .I owned a mini square 21p but I sold it unused because I had heard such bad things.I lost $1,000 but it could have been worse.
Chanel use a less quality leather, it seems if it's a very popular line. I discovered this in 1996 with their outsize classic. Then bags were £900 - £1000 for medium classic
I have both authentic and rep Chanel bags. I’ve noticed that the rep ones are actually made better with straighter stitches and aligned flaps better than my authentic ones….. I have since stopped buying authentic Chanel once I noticed this.
LOL!! "When it's closed no one will notice it [reckless stitch work]" Oh Wow!!! I'm so sorry to hear of your experience. The Chanel at Saks NYC is even worse as they look down on you for even entering the store! And at Chanel on 57th - the worst!!!! The attendants lounge on seats and won't get up to show you anything = total attitude. People say it's NYC. Hey!!!!!! Those days of being socially acceptable to treat people badly in upscale NYC are gone! Has anyone noticed all the empty vacant stores that once had attitude sales clerks! Bonwit Teller was the worst in the 1980s. B. Altman's was horrendous as was Lord & Taylor, Henry Bendel, Barney's (they also lounged around and failed to acknowledge you), and on and on. Bergdorf Goodman is perhaps the only store to greet you in their Chanel boutique with sincerity and a nice demeanor - if in the USA in NYC for Chanel go to Bergdorf Goodman!!!!! On level 1 and level 3 I believe for their 2 boutiques.
I read that companies, such as Chanel, are manufacturing an “influencer line” in China. They grade their customers and certain ones get the China line, whereas others get the French (better) line. It has to do with the broader issue of French culture and the perceived preservation of it.
The thing is metal and leather can scratch, threads can fray and dyes can transfer. Quilting can misalign on where the flap meets the body of the purse because it curves over. Our expectations are so high for complete perfection because we think that is what the high price is buying. That is unrealistic. Everything is subject to wear and tear. We are buying the brand exclusivity, along with quality. Having said that, we should expect a high degree of customer service. If I don’t get it, that brand will be dead to me.
I would agree with you that the AA replicas are better quality. That is just sad. Time to move on to other brands. I recently noticed some glazing issues on my LV neonoe that's 1.5 years old and went to the store. They offered to exchange it for any style. Although I feel like their quality has also gone down, at least the customer service is there.
That’s Chanel for you. Lol 😂 even though we know about their bad quality and customer service we are still addicted to buying them. 😂 Lot of Chanel handbags are uneven. One of my mini with top handle is little uneven also. I couldn't exchange or return because I passed the 14 days policy and I was told it’s hand made, so it’s not always going to be perfect. 😂 The handbag is very cute but I’m little ocd so it bothers me. I really hope I don’t buy any more Chanel’s either. Even though I thought I wanted a metallic gold on my collection. I don’t really need it and I barely use any of my handbags.
I purchased a beige top handle bag last year and the handle and chain completely snapped off. I brought it back and it took 3 months to fix. A few months later, the exact same thing happened again. I have no faith in Chanel's quality anymore.
Unbelievable. These bags should last a lifetime and could be passed down to generations. This bag clearly needs to be replaced with a new one. On top of that, from what you say, customer service is horrible. Luxury brands should focus on the customer. Not just on customers who can afford to buy a lot of products. The result is that at this rate they will be losing customers. Do they not care?
I feel like I'm carrying a piece of luxury art when I hold my *topluxs* shandbag. The exquisite design and meticulous craftsmanship make it a true masterpiece.
Oh my gosh girl I feel so sorry for you... that bag is horrible... I own three vintage Chanel's one is a 24 cm flap bag and I've got to say it is in better condition than that one and I think it was made in the 1980s... Although there is a bit of that uneven side bulge on mine as well but I will forgive it for its age... I don't blame you for being upset over that bag it looks ugly... I can't believe Chanel is putting out such a rubbish product... Shame on them for not refunding you
This bag is probably +- $100 of leather and $150 in crafting, meaning you pay $4.000 for a $250 bag. And for that huge premium they can't even offer decent quality and decent customer care.
Historically the manufacture was so slow and thorough by such great artisans, that the bag was special. I have a vintage 2.55 and it was made in 70s and it is so special. But now, they treat customers with contempt.
Regardless of the Regardless of the *yutulu* or any other factors, I ardently hold that without proper expertise, one would fail to distinguish variations in the sack's appearance or metal parts.
Wow !!!! I cannot believe how they didn’t help you and messed up the stitching. You are way calmer than me, I would have started yelling !!! And 8 months to fix a bag??? Ridiculous
Im hearing alot of complaints from french boutiques not sure why that is maybe because its really busy there??? Its the same thing in the hospital people are rude because its just soooo busy and everyone has a critical condition and everybody wants to be served first, the SAs are only human, they might be overworked and underpaid, heck they might not even give a crap about a “bag” they re not educated with the craftsmanship they dont know that the stitching should be aligned they dont know what leather it is.. for you and me since we love the history of these brands and appreciate craftsmanship, its just unfortunate that we didnt get to experience what it used to be back in the days when these brands were actually prestigious and stood to their craftsmanship and quality, but i shop at the orlando millenia mall boutique all the time ive had no problems, they even replaced my chanel 22 bag because the hardware chipped off and the leather on the sides started to peel after a year i repeat A YEAR and they still replaced it, these bags have warranty which you electronically sign for, i dont knof if your boutique have you register for it but the SAs in orlando makes sure you do it after you purchase a bag especially its kina like buying a vehicle or a gun where you have the VIN number registered to you.. and thats how it should be not sure why boutiques in europe dont do that
It’s only for 2 years. After 2 not anymore and you have to pay for it if you want to send it in for repair. The stiching problems also happened after 1 year. But the tarnishing not and I cannot bring it in anymore without paying an arm and a ley
Im sorry for your experience, but I dont think you can blame Chanel for the color transfer. We're not suppose to carry light colored bags with dark wash jeans any way. It WIL transfer. But yes, Chanel's customer service is not really the best.... ☹
Yes, but it was mentioned that the colour transfer only occurs because the lambskin leather they use is of the lowest quality possible, with lots of processing and coating. High quality lamb leather doesn’t get any colour transfer
@@Lelosiinot true, Jeans leak their dye and it even transfers to human skin, let alone hide. Lamb skin is almost like suede, picks up whatever it rubs against.
What? A six thousand dollar bag and you think it’s down to the consumer? That is absurd. Colour transfer is always the sign of poor quality treatment and finishing of leather. No reputable leather company permits it. Do you work for Chanel?
Ok, I’m sorry you’ve had these experiences, not cool. Let’s start with a few facts, lambskin is super delicate. In a pale colour, even worse. The Jean transfer is obviously your fault, but until it happens, or not knowing about transfer is annoying and super upsetting. Glad you managed to get most of it off. I can see the quilts are already de-puffing. With the lambskin, you can’t hold it firmly, you will end up de-puffing it faster than normal. Maybe you are holding it as a clutch close to your body? The chain in lambskin wears super fast. Chanel view it that it’s a luxurious item and only to be used very carefully. I fully agree with you, that you would expect better service. Avoid lambskin in lighter colours. I actually prefer the vintage Chanel. I have newer Chanel and vintage one’s… the vintage are impeccable but still need to be handled with extreme care, which in theory, makes these bags pretty unusable in day to day life. I leave my delicate ones on the shelf, which again is ridiculous. I do fully agree about the hardware, it’s not as robust as the vintage. I would expect more from the hardware for sure. New sub 🫶M
Curious- what year did u buy this pink bag? What did you use to remove color transfer? Thanks in advance. It is so sad that you had this experiece with Chanel and im glad you are sharing this on your platform. They sgould really do better. One time i walked into the Chanel boutique in Nice, France, the SAs turned and looked at me and then went back to chit chatting. No greetings no nothing. I walked around the store myself. They probably thought i wont be able to afford a bag😂😂
@@Lelosiitbh I have the mini rectangle and it does look kinda cheap… it’s a real one but I felt silly after spending money on it. the only reason I’m not selling it is because it goes up on prices.
I haven't bought anything from Chanel since 2016 and I absolutely refuse to. The two bags I had from then are still in wonderful condition, but the absolute horror stories that I hear from everyone else that buys the newer bags, especially since Covid, just wow. I'm not surprised by your bag having all these issues. It's so common now. There's so many eleged stories going around as well that they're actually Italian sweat shops where the bags are made now with leather they don't know the origin of. For the insane price point and the continued price increases, and decrease in quality, Chanel will remain dead to me until they change. I'm tired of most of the luxury game now. YSL make some good bags, as does Celine, but they also have quality issues. I've had flaps that sounded like asthma when I lifted them, crooked flaps, crooked clasps and hardware etc. It's just not ok for these prices. I went through 6 Celine Triomphes until I got one that was made almost perfectly.
I worked with a wealthy woman who had a collection of "luxury" handbags. Some were real, some were replicas and you honestly couldn't tell the difference. This woman had enough money to buy anything she wanted. I literally saw her buy a Mercedes and a Jaguar with cash because she didn't like the interest. She taught me how to mix and match, especially trendy bags, no need to spend $5000 on something that will be out of style next year 🤷🏽♀*aceluxs*
Telling you she didn’t have time for you with a problem, she needed to get to additional customers to meet her sales quota for the day/week! Very awful.
Maybe Chanel is like Apple, the bag is made to use for 1 year and then you need to buy another model next year. If they make bags that last a long time they won’t being to sale us fan a lot of bags.
It really makes you wonder if manufacturing poor quality bags could be Chanel's strategy of weeding out their less than desirable clientele, (i.e. all of us)
We vacationed in Dubai in 2019, and there's this guy shoving a Chanel bag to our faces. We told him this quality is awful. So he asked another person to give him another one which we liked immediately. After much haggling we got if for 150 pounds. To this day I show and tell everyone who would care to listen this experience. Lol😅
My mind is absolutely blown that people are still spending their money on Chanel bags. First, the quality does not match the price (not even CLOSE). Second, customers are treated like chumps by the Chanel employees. Time to let this brand go.
I only buy Chanel Vintage & Prelove. Unique pieces that last for decades!

I’ve owned vintage Chanel and was pleased by the quality. Just ordered a replica off Babala Bags! Thanks for the heads up.
I read that companies, such as Chanel, are manufacturing an “influencer line” in China. They grade their customers and certain ones get the China line, whereas others get the French (better) line. It has to do with the broader issue of French culture and the perceived preservation of it.
Oh my 😂😳
That could be true though. But I feel like it’s more that they are mass produced now compared to years ago. That’s why quality declines
Awful
Where did you read this? I was trying to look online for this info!
HEY *xbagy* !! I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day.
Don't buy Chanel if you want qaulity.
Someone else brought it back I bet
That could be it 😆
I would agree with you that the AA replicas are better quality.
Lot of Chanel handbags are uneven. One of my mini with top handle is little uneven also. I couldn't exchange or return because I passed the 14 days policy and I was told it’s hand made, so it’s not always going to be perfect. 😂
The handbag is very cute but I’m little ocd so it bothers me.
I really hope I don’t buy any more Chanel’s either. Even though I thought I wanted a metallic gold on my collection.
I don’t really need it and I barely use any of my handbags.
😆🩷
I purchased a beige top handle bag last year and the handle and chain completely snapped off. I brought it back and it took 3 months to fix. A few months later, the exact same thing happened again. I have no faith in Chanel's quality anymore.
I went into a Chanel store today and thinking to buy a nag with top handle 😢
can you please share what products you used to remove the stain?
Shame on them for not refunding you
Yesss the vintage ones are amazing quality.
lelosii dragging chanel for 17 min is my new fave song
😂😂❤️
Wow, thank you for sharing
This bag is probably +- $100 of leather and $150 in crafting, meaning you pay $4.000 for a $250 bag.
And for that huge premium they can't even offer decent quality and decent customer care.
Historically the manufacture was so slow and thorough by such great artisans, that the bag was special. I have a vintage 2.55 and it was made in 70s and it is so special. But now, they treat customers with contempt.
Omg can you tell me the value of a classic Chanel and a classic Dior leather saddle please?
What a great vlog. I love my Neverful Med and GM. And Longchamp. Use it on flights and road trips. To my two daughters-in-law. 😍 *Niceshopx* 😍
Hermes, Chanel, and Dior are overrated and such a scam.
Regardless of the Regardless of the *yutulu* or any other factors, I ardently hold that without proper expertise, one would fail to distinguish variations in the sack's appearance or metal parts.
What a shame your experience was terrible, its a lovely colour however
I love the colour too 🤩🩷
I purchased a Chanel 19 and had the same exact experience not to mention the leather broke down so bad it felt plastic
Also can you please link the color transfer remover you used ? Thank you
Wow !!!! I cannot believe how they didn’t help you and messed up the stitching. You are way calmer than me, I would have started yelling !!! And 8 months to fix a bag??? Ridiculous
What is the name of the product that you use to get the color transfer out please?
Buy a fake and call it a day.
😂
@lelosi I am so sorry for such a horrible experience. Can you share what product you used for the color transfer?
@@LelosiiExactly. Nor does any other properly tanned leather. This is an outrage.
@@seviregis7441On the lamb, maybe! but not after artisan tanning.
New sub 🫶M
No offense but this is so old news. Its been bad quality last few years now….sorry they were super rude to you and made you drive all that way
Curious- what year did u buy this pink bag? What did you use to remove color transfer? Thanks in advance. It is so sad that you had this experiece with Chanel and im glad you are sharing this on your platform. They sgould really do better. One time i walked into the Chanel boutique in Nice, France, the SAs turned and looked at me and then went back to chit chatting. No greetings no nothing. I walked around the store myself. They probably thought i wont be able to afford a bag😂😂
From a distance at least it is very pretty, for consolation.
Okay that's it. I am going for Vintage chanel!
Yes that bag looks awful and a fake. Good on you for telling them the Primark comparison. 😊
Is the bag you’re holding a real Chanel bag?! Because this looks like a £100 version from eBay!! I’m so shocked at Chanel!!
Sometimes I’m wondering the same 😂 if I wouldn’t have bought it directly from the store I would think exactly that
@@Lelosiitbh I have the mini rectangle and it does look kinda cheap… it’s a real one but I felt silly after spending money on it. the only reason I’m not selling it is because it goes up on prices.
Yes, I agree.
Me too 😜😄 looks like a toy bag for kids sometimes
The problem is chanel wants to be like Hermes but they don’t offer the repair services or have Hermes quality.
No they really it’s a completely different aesthetic
The price is mainly for the Name. Not for the quality nor customer service.
Buy preloved, the quality is by far better and so are the prices.
Thanks for sharing your experience with Chanel. I will not buy it.
Right now Chanel due to price/quality is only worth it if buying vintage.
I’m totally over them
Love the bag but as you said it’s probably better to get a rep 😊
I worked with a wealthy woman who had a collection of "luxury" handbags. Some were real, some were replicas and you honestly couldn't tell the difference. This woman had enough money to buy anything she wanted. I literally saw her buy a Mercedes and a Jaguar with cash because she didn't like the interest. She taught me how to mix and match, especially trendy bags, no need to spend $5000 on something that will be out of style next year 🤷🏽♀*aceluxs*
I feel bad for people getting such a bad service and quality but I don’t understand why the people are still buying Chanel 😓.
I do too. I’ve always gotten beautiful bags from them. Mine are great an I will continue purchasing.
You paid 4000 $ for a 35€ bag… So they said on French TV in 2012.
Crazy, unfortunately it is very common for Chanel to have such poor quality
Telling you she didn’t have time for you with a problem, she needed to get to additional customers to meet her sales quota for the day/week! Very awful.
Maybe Chanel is like Apple, the bag is made to use for 1 year and then you need to buy another model next year. If they make bags that last a long time they won’t being to sale us fan a lot of bags.
Unprofessional store SA and staff. The bag quality and service. So frustrating, for the amount you’ve paid.
It really makes you wonder if manufacturing poor quality bags could be Chanel's strategy of weeding out their less than desirable clientele, (i.e. all of us)
That might be it
No one forced you to drive 5 hours to buy a handbag. 🙄
😅
I think I had the same bag from 21s neón pink! Quality orrible. I sold it
Tnx for the info. It means a lot. Not a good investment. :-) ,
I'm here *amzrepe* like I haven't watched all your unboxings to date!!!
it's mind blowing that some fake ones have better quality than the original. Weird
😄🙏🏼
Can you please share what you used to get rid of the color transfer? Also, what is a Primark bag? Too bad about your bag, it’s such a pretty color
Cadillac cleaner. First start with baby wipes and then Cadillac cleaner.
It’s a store that is known for its affordable prices and mass production. 🩷
@@Lelosii Thank you!! I think we may have that store in the USA
It’s a cheap store in Britain.
@@jrob123It’s English
We vacationed in Dubai in 2019, and there's this guy shoving a Chanel bag to our faces. We told him this quality is awful. So he asked another person to give him another one which we liked immediately. After much haggling we got if for 150 pounds. To this day I show and tell everyone who would care to listen this experience. Lol😅
