Totally agree with James on pricing. That's one reason why I never went any further than design school; because I was expected to charge rates I didn't feel right about charging. Wish I'd had this advice fifteen years ago.

Oh James, first time I have seen you (thank you so much Becca for sharing James) and I am crazy about you already. I absolutely love your honesty and how straight forward you are. I totally and absolutely agree with everything you are saying. I did my very first - not logo, but a design for Christmas on an acrylic shield in a business. I didn't charge (this is just my first year doing any art at all) because I didn't really have a clue what I was doing - lolol - and I was very careful to say 'well, if you would like, but I haven't done this before and I am just new'. She was absolutely thrilled with the outcome (only Christmas doodly things) and so was everyone else. Now this brought out more work and I have even been approached by a customer :). So, I agree James. And, let me tell you people who are teaching and giving so much to the community for free are the first to get my money.
