- In this weeks video i show you how to flash the uvk5 radio with a modded firmware.
All you need is the programming cable and the radio and a web browser to do the mod

Hi Jezz, I've just got the uv-5 (8) and have the same firmware as you I find that if you adjust the LNAs LNA PGA it seems to make the receiver less sensitive like a RF gain, be handy if someone wrote a firmware with a RF gain for this HT it'll make for a cheap fox hunting hand held.
Nice one Jez. I ve just got one (well same thing) in and was wondering about the firmware upgrade. Can see it receiving CB but not sure it will be much good at transmitting as way out of the radios spec. What SMA adapter are you using on yours and where you get it. ta.
Got the connector from eBay a few years ago think it was only a couple of quid. It won’t tx on cb bands only rx
@@2j4ez Yeah i thought as much. Not bad as a little scanner though.
@@CB-RADIO-UK I found some different firmware it does more I’ll be testing it this week and hopefully have in next weeks video
What if two connectors on that spider connector accidentally touch?

does this allow tx on ssb?
@4.4542 this firmware doesn't, but the IJV firmware does .

Nothing has come up my way about the link . I’ll check when I get home and if I can find it I’ll publish it . Maybe RUclips stopping it . When I finish work I’ll check
