  • Some people were curious about what the letters and numbers meant when I was talking, so I just wanted to tell you what they mean:
    The first thing I say is my callsign: KJ7NLL. Then, I say my ham grid square: CN85.
    Finally, sometimes I say CQ CQ CQ, and that means that I am asking to talk to anyone on the radio. You can get your callsign by taking an amateur radio test.
    If you are interested in getting your ham radio license, you can study at: www.hamstudy.org
    You can look up grid squares at: www.levinecentral.com/ham/gri...

    Dear KJ7Nll. It is very to see that our hobby is not limited to any age group! My QTH is EM75PG, Southeastern USA. When the ISS comes overhead, there is nearly always a jam-up of hams trying to make contacts. Glad to see your success. Keep it up! KQ4IXD

    Good job! I'm glad to see young people getting into the hobby.
    You might want to think about a foot switch for the PTT and a headset/mic or a boom mic, to free up your hands for operating and logging.

    May I ask, are you using the same 2m helical antenna for both transmit (~145.99MHz) and receive (~435.8MHz)? Or do you have a separate antenna for 70cm reception?

    • @KJ7NLL
      @KJ7NLL  Месяц назад

      The 2m helical antenna has 2 windings. On the outside is the 2m winding, and on the inside, there is an aluminum 70cm winding

      @@KJ7NLL Actually - that video only shows the 2m coil. Do you have a video showing construction of the 70cm coil? And what about the feed points and tuning?

    • @KJ7NLL
      @KJ7NLL  28 дней назад

      I have a presentation where I talk about the project, and I talk about that coil and show some pictures: ruclips.net/video/vKeOOaMB4ZQ/видео.html
