For everything that it's been shown to be capable of so far it's the best bargain in the hobby! I just updated from the original firmware to fix the airband distortion issue.
Just got a UV-K5 (8) /6 on ali black friday deal for 13 quid. cant wait to flash the modded firmware I also got a bunch of antennas including a 27Mhz one Edit: I also have the old front from an anytone 878uvii plus. I accidentally dripped from the fifth floor balcony (now repaired) Im hoping that speaker might fit inside the new radio as its gotta be a better one coming from a 200 quid radio...
Quick question? I put mine on a 11 meter dipole, that has a flat match at 27.400 ,when keying the radio on fm, it showed 4 watts, but it had a 4.1 to 1 match. Any idea why this would be ? Thanks Jack
You are hearing USA on 10m CW. CQ WW test this weekend. But some SDR frequency filtering is needed to get better RX, because it is extremely wide. That seems to be the main issue with this receiver. You will get interference, because the receiver is covering too much spectrum. And you can not get a lot of signal processing with an el cheapo chip :P
@@DeanSwann TNX! I got the radio yesterday and noticed it have W/N select. I suspect the bandwidth is related to W/N on FM. Got mine programmed now and have just tested AIR band for the local air traffic. AM works fine with the newest formware. I am scanning a few local AM and FM with squelch on, and it works flawless so far. Will test it on SSB HF later.
It is really worthless to buy the expensive radio walkie talkies when they can not do 1/10th of what the budget minded radios. Perhaps it is time for Kenwood, Yaesu, Icom, to rethink their bloated prices.

Agree
18.0MHz is the lower limit. Pretty cool video, as always!

Try and counterpoint connected to base of antenna about 140cm long .
Turn down your frequency steps to find more cb channels theres a list online of all the calling frequencies too
Thanks Loads
You can set it to 1hz in the firmware maker online so you can get the frequency spot on. Due to the new online custom firmware builder
Nice👍
Thanks ✌

The Great Horned Owl is a superb owl....so is the Snowy Owl....but I think 27.025 is the American Superbowl channel.

You can narrow the bandwidth from wide to narrow

You are listening on usb on cb channels that use AM only. That’s why it’s garbled.
ok
Not working when i press f then 5 it just changes to noaa frequencys
U may need MOD firmware
i have it down loaded but how do i get it to the radio
ruclips.net/video/jsQpeMV33Mo/видео.html
In Russia use that at 7.MHz
Cool I need that firmware
