The narrow throat vs. open throat totally changed my voice and also released a lot of strain!! Thank you so much Freya...very grateful for all your tips. :)

I tend to make the first mistake... I suppose because I'm still not confident enough in myself and I sort of lock up. But I will do my best to stop that. Thank you so much for these amazing tips. I adore your videos, Freya Casey.

You gave the most accurate description of beginner errors that I've seen so far! Really amazing! And you vocal examples, both right and wrong ones, are invaluable. Much more than 1000 words. It's very rare to see somebody be able to sing opened uo and tense up on purpose. Very helpful!

I love singing but I just dont have great confidence in my voice. I'm not that great at hitting higher notes and I'm not that great at low either lol. I'm good at just a normal voice if that makes sense. Idk there is this song I want to learn how to sing better but it has a lot of high notes that I'm so bad at singing.

This is all great and makes sense but how does one “open your throat” like I think that thought and idk like where to focus muscle flexes? Idk how to describe it but like idk what I’m supposed to do with throat muscles to open the throat. Also how am I supposed to not make a sound breathy? I don’t understand the whole vocal cords together thing, like where are my vocal cords, how do I know if they’re moving or together or not.

Freya, thank you! You are very helpful to me. I have a question, I sing in a choir what can I do to sing on tone and still use the suggestions you give? just need some choir advice. I sit next to someone who sings really loud, an can't really hear myself sing.

tara van sickle Try practicing vocal warm ups, and work on your tone a couple of days before you perform in choir.

What about pitch? I am an accomplished pianist. You'd think I could sing in tune, but I'm awful! Any suggestions, anyone? And by the way, I play sax and have good breath. A little bit breathy in the tone though! Could that be why I'm flat?

I hate when people try to "smoothen" lyrics. When in reality, the lyrics aren't "smoothened" together.😣
Sometimes you want certain parts of the lyrics to *end*, if you get what I mean.
