The thing is. I can hit very low notes and whistle registers too. I just can’t fully transition from these. Like I can’t transition from head voice to whistle.

Freya, I don't think I've ever seen a video on range extension so "real world" so valuable, and so well said as this one. Not only can't I agree with you more, but once again you really know how to tell it like it REALLY is and what it REALLY takes!! Your descriptions and explanations are so true...So well done. I would love to know some exercises you recommend or a video on some exercises, perhaps even more advanced exercises for range. Bob

Ill give you a tip: 'vocal fry' is very good for lifting the weight from your voice so you can sing higher with freedom. If ypu dont know what it is search it up.

Great video , i always love how well you explain things! I Have a question about retaining low notes..I don't think i asked you but i have asked other teachers. So, i have a good low range, but when i sing in the upper part of my range for long periods of time the bottom few notes of my range can dissappear. Essentially after a long practice ( where i sing alot of head voice) or thorough warm up, i might loose 2 notes on the bottom but gain 2 notes up top. I always have more low notes before i warm up my voice. I am assuming this is because when singing high notes the chords are more tight? What i want to know is what can be done to train the voice to stay relaxed so that the lowest notes i have ( pre warmup) will stay and i can still have my high c & d6 too !
other teachers have said this is just how it is after you warm up and happens to everyone, not to be concerned about this. But i feel like it would be nice to keep my lowest notes able to resonate loud and clear and, i feel like, there's got to be a way to train to do this?
I try to practice all registers every time i practice, and practice transitions etc. what else can be done?

I train my voice almost everyday but sometimes I worry if I am doing it too much. is it ok to have a 30 min karaoke session after an hour of vocal training? It looks to me, from watching the video, that there is a slight opening of your mouth as you stay in the same register but sing higher tones. I agree that a really wide-open mouth is unproductive, and probably unhealthy, but there does seem to be some increase in the mouth opening with higher notes. Am I missing something?

Hey im a bass baritone with very little training but i realized i could hit notes in the 6 octave. i can consistently hit a D6 highest ive gone is an F6 but isnt that pleasant to the ear. my friends told me sounds like im trying to communicate with dolphins. Could those notes ever become pleasant to the ear or will they always sound like dolphin calls?

+Freya Casey I consider my range to be pretty good. I can hit bass, tenor, baritone and alto and, on a good day, a couple of soprano notes. I have pretty much the same vocal range as Avi Kaplan (from Pentatonix). My question is: how can I start a growl and transition into a run?

Celine Dion is a worldwide famous singer & she has the technique, the emotions, great vocal range - BUT - her voice is NOT beautiful! She’s often VERY NASAL & that sounds horrible! The nasal thing is a fact & not just my opinion.
Thank you so much Freya for your wonderful videos with great advice & exercises 🙏🏼❣️ I’m injured (neck, shoulders & lower back - pinched nerves - & I also have a condition called Sjögren’s syndrome so I don’t have any saliva production) & in pain 24/7 so I’m always inflamed & therefore it’s hard to relax (neck, tongue, shoulders) & I’ve lost my high notes & of course I lost my chance to pursue my life dream of a singing career 😔. Your exercises help 👍🏼! Much love ❤️ from Lena, Sweden 🇸🇪
