1) Body warmup 2) Start with low voice (humming) 3) Move to middle voice 4) Move to a more chesty voice not up yet 5) Move to the top - remember to move slowly 6) Breathiness/falsetto - increase intensity 7) Go to the top intensity - yelling exercise 8) Head voice - siren exercise 🚨 9) Change registers - ex: chest to falsetto / from low to high 10) Optional : experiment with placements - sing long notes / change the volume on the same pitch
As a Concert Singer, who has performed in Europe and the States over 300 times in the last 30 years I must say, I truly love your work Freya. Your teaching style is kind and patient. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us.
The last tip has got to be the best. Flexibility within a song is key in terms of creativity and technical ability. I don't think enough people realize this.
your videos are so helpfull. I just started singing lessons though i 've started singing 5 years ago.I will sing hallelujah and your video about this song was helpfull too thank you so much!:)
Awesome video Freya. Warmups are so important, so overlooked, so underemphasized....and it's so individual. I find you have to experiment to know what works for you. if I'm getting ready for a gig, it might take a good 45 minutes to an hour. One famous singer once told me they warm up until they sense a timbre change. Like you I try to make it fun and uninhibited.
Hi Freya, we are really found of your videos. Just one request, would you be able to create a video about giving tips on how to start a song. I always feel stressed when I start the song and I dont know why but the first line is always out of tune when the rest is more or less in tune after. I think the first line is very important so what do we have to do for the first line? thank you very much for your help.
thank you so much for your tips :D i've been practising with your videos for a little over 4 months now, because of you, i went from A2-E5 to straight E2-G5 :D currently , i am practising belting, i can go upto B4 but when i try the 'e' vowel my voice breaks at A4, any suggestions?
When I follow the link to get a PDF on the checklist, it takes me to your website but not to the link, and I don't see it there. I'd really love to have a printed version. Help?!
is there any reccomendations of how much of each thing we should do? like in workout terms would you do 3 sets of the low voice warmup for 15 seconds each then move to the next thing or?
Hi Freya! Your videos are amazing, you are helping me so much! I have a problem with my low voice tho. I can go pretty low and I LOVE that, but once I warm up, reach those highs and just sing for a while in general, it's like as if my low voice just closed, or I can't relax enough to go AS low as on the start... Do I put too much pressure on the highs, or what do I do wrong? Any advice? Thank you for everything you do!
Bodlinka - Ranges need to be warmed up individually. If you concentrate on one and not the other, the one you neglect will suffer. If you lose your low register, work on it until it comes back. Working your lower and middle registers will improve your upper register.

So down to earth and genuine! A fantastic teacher, the very best!

Thanks.my voice now is improving yepeeeerr
I do a show three nights a week.
I usually do a basic warm-up for 10 min 1 hr before .. Is that enough?
Possibly the best singer in Boise Idaho told me that first sessions of a gig are the least great sounding because most people don't warm-up the voice.
I love you
8:30 I love ''eeee'' too. :)
Wow, if That's a warm-up....how do you have the energy for a gig ?
נהדר!

Hi, What is difference between falsetto and head voice?
When I follow the link to get a PDF on the checklist, it takes me to your website but not to the link, and I don't see it there. I'd really love to have a printed version. Help?!
I've tried so hard to change from chest to head on one pitch! But I just can't get it!
What happens when my voice cracks while I’m singing. This is the first time I had my voice cracked . What do I do
is there any reccomendations of how much of each thing we should do? like in workout terms would you do 3 sets of the low voice warmup for 15 seconds each then move to the next thing or?
The link doesn’t send you to the PDF.
Excellent! Thank you for these great tips! You may consider changing "instragram" to "instagram". :) Thanks for sharing your Pinterest. :)

63 years old. starting to get that wobbly pitch thing. is there some kind of exercise to help me learn to sing a steady pitch?
by the way, thanks for another wonderful video!!
If you're Vietnamese, you'll understand this :"Mùi mui múi mui mùi, mì" có mùi mì
לשיר זה לא פשוט.......
i'm sorry. but the yelling part is actually what's ruining the cords and in a long term, will cause permanent damage. :(.
