I'm really glad I watched this. I think my biggest problem is trying to replicate my favorite singers.
me tooo 🌚💔
Dont we all!
SAME
Exactly my problem. I can mimic them very well, and then I realized I don't know my real singing voice!
Same 😂😂😂
its hard because when i talk to different people i talk differently.
***** when i talk to certain people my voice gets higher.
Same. When I'm with close friends I'm able to talk louder and my voice is often low(so low that sometimes I do a vocal fry :"| ), but when I'm talking to just random people, it's softer and I strain to go low and loud. But, I sing Alto AND Mezzo Soprano comfortably, soo...
Noodles4Anime sounds like you need to relax and be yourself around anyone no matter who they are. Stay confident. Good luck
Same here... mom= 5 year old me. friends=chill and low. other adults- almost no sounds...
It’s normal because I talk higher around people I like to be around vs if it’s some stranger my voice is ig neutral
how do i not sound like a dying animal?
At least you don't sound like Yoko Ono. It's worse.
Mood
I sound like dying cow hehe
I'm guessing don't sing. Lol totally kidding :-)
I sound like a dying squirrel
But my natural voice sounds really bad 😭
Sophie H- Maybe you think that is your natural voice when you sing and maybe is not.
Same my voice always get so low when i'm talking
it is tough to explain the natural voice thing. but trust me! maybe the way you talk ISN'T your natural voice. maybe you talk more nasally or you push your tone too much or you stay very quiet and almost whisper. i would suggest a GOOD vocal teacher. i wished i could recommend you someone, but i only know my own, and i doubt you are able to go to her :(
honestly, find a good teacher. someone who will help you find your true voice, no style or anything. my teacher is an opera singer, but she sings with her natural voice. i sing pop/ballad songs and she teaches me to sing naturally. you can sing ANY genre with this technique! search for someone like that. trust me, you CAN.
At least mines high?
I sound like dying dog with cracks
When you're a choir student who's trying to transition into solo singing and you're very confused
Me right now
M a r y R o s e good luck. 👍
Ah choir.. I was in choir last year and I was put into Soprano(which I can sing), but I can also sing Alto, but the teacher seemed so desperate for more Sopranos, but all I wanted to do was hop around and see where I was comfortable and what I could do.
Yes!
All I know is how to sing in a choir and I want to go into solo too lmao
my voice depends on my emotions :/
Singing, especially in theatre _should_ be affected by emotions too, obviously not to a point where no one can understand or hear, but I would never cry in something like Les Miserables, for example, if they were just perfect unemotional notes, you shouldn’t have to be able to speak the language to understand the emotions behind a song. Like in a lot of opera, I can feel the emotions and passion behind the voices, but I can’t speak Italian.
I have such a hard time learning how to sing. Because I am bilingual. I don't know what's my natural voice
I guess you have two then, and depending on how the song flows, you adjust.
Out of curiosity, what two?
Perez交叉 same here
my natural voice is low but I find it so much easier to sing the high notes. It is like I am breathy when I sing low or middle notes but it is very easy and clear when I sing high notes. is it normal?
Joey Jia this is my problem oml
Same but it still uncomfortable
Same
me who's voice is slightly deeper than the mariana's trench
@@kurtnecolecanete3217 this is a callout lmfao
I don’t care if I sound absolutely stupid, but I keep forgetting how to sing. I will figure out how to sing and sing beautifully but then I’ll forget and sing worse, Im trying to find my voice again and this helped
I have adhd, my natural voice has ~☆always☆~ been rushed and bursting with energy... so much so I stopped speaking to people, and limited my words to brief exchanges... this should be fun
Thank you 😊 💓
That's beautiful and interesting and I would like to have on line training is it possible cause I like singing hence i don't know my nutural voice
Thanks for this. My choir director said I have a beautiful natural voice and I honestly didn't know what that means. About 1/4 of the choir is classically trained so I often feel I should push myself to sound like them. Your video has helped to relieve those fears.
When i was young I really sing in natural voice. But it went change when i try to imitate my favorite artists voice 😢
Even after 4 years your video is still making big impact in people’s lives, including me, thank you and may God bless you.🙏🏽
I very accomplished professional singer was asked what was most important in learning to sing. She said, to sing, first you need to learn how to speak. I took her to mean that the singing voice is a natural extension of the speaking voice. You seem to be saying much the same thing. But perhaps she also meant that we may have to overcome faults in our speaking voice, breathing, posture etc. before we could use our speaking voice as the foundation of our singing voice. I thought it was a profoundly important thing to say, but never got to hear the whole story. Thank you Freya for all your lessons. I find them very helpful.
Speaking of natural voice - you are definitely a 'natural' at what you do!!!!😊👍 I'm am amateur singer and am getting a lot out of your channel.🙏😊
Omg once she started screaming and talking louder I lost it 😂😂😂😂 couldn't take her seriously
what if my natural voice sound bad ???
struggles I relate
what if your natural voice is unique*
Nur Fitri ☆my natural voice is bad too. I hate it..😅
It just sounds weird to you because it's your own voice. I think everyone cringes when they hear their own voice.
I cringe when i hear my own voice its normal when you hear your own voice
I sound like Kermit singing and talking
Nyx Glame tongue is in your throat. Try sticking your tongue out of your mouth and singing for a while. Then try to sing with your tongue back in your mouth.
And be conscience of if your tongue tries to creep back or stays behind your teeth. Also stop trying to sing low. Your probably trying to sound deeper than you are.
That didnt stop shakira ;)
Simply MC Official lmao
At least you can sing rainbow connection
I have never taken signing training. I used to perform in High school and I was approached to record sings with 2 writers and my own teachers but they always told me to learn to read music and to perfect my voice. That was 20 years ago or more. I still sing at home but just recently have had the desire to perform again. I want to thank you for what you do. I will be following your channel. I never knew what my natural voice was since I would imitate the artists and at times it was hard but I would practice hard to get to their voice but now I will use my own. Thank you!
Also, it would really help to have your lessons NUMBERED, not so everyone will always go through them in order, but just so we will know when your are referring to "next Friday," etc. Great approach Freya, so sincere and authentic feeling though sometimes a little too much talking and repetition rathe than examples, exercises, something to DO other than listen. Just my idea, don't mean to be critical. Overall you are one of, if not THE best vocal coach I have encountered. Will probably subscribe but have already paid for another one, which is good too, so will come to you later.
Thank you so much for making this video! My voice is softer and I used to get frustrated that I didn't sound like other people. This is very encouraging!
I guess that's exactly why the songs I've been writing are in the range my speaking voice is, it just feels natural.
thank you I sing punk so I try to find my natural voice for that.
I always notice strain in my throat, I get sore really fast sometimes lol. This makes a lot of sense now though thinking about my range. Awesome!
I love this video. I have realized I have been trying to hard and that relaxing my voice towards a more natural tone has helped bring out a beautiful sound. Thank you for this wonderful tip.
I gain a lot of knowledge about finding our own natural singing voice you are an expert to this..Thank you very much! God bless you!
Thanks a lot for choosing to speak on a topic like this ☺
My natural singing pitch is D3. I used an app to test my voice. I knew that it was kind of low. However, when I sing I tend to sing high out of habit. :\
Maristella Castello what app did you use?
It's called Vocal pitch monitor.
So thankful I feel...You´re great, Freya
I really love you Freya!! Your videos have been recently helping build my confidence singing in front of others.
It's a useful lesson many artists sing e unnatural voice if u listened their talks and singing completely different..thanks that will help me a lot...
Like axel roseمحمد عبدالغني
I sings in my natural voice but I always thought you’re an awful singer if you sings in your natural voice but you made me feel better about singing in my natural voice, I also notice when I sing certain songs my voice totally changes, songs like you raise me up I sound more like an opera singer and I can’t help it.
On 'Natural voice,' examples taken from actual singers (like actual audio if not video) there singing and then their speaking would really help to understand all this
I love your hair and singing
I love this, it really feels right. My biggest issue is finding any song I can sing to the end in this way, as most songs go higher than my natural "break". Have been trying to figure this out for years... Thank you, I will go through your videos again. (I found you and watched them all a couple of years ago, and got busy with life, and here I am again!)
thank you so much Freya, wonderful video with so much important information! :)
I have been following you for awhile already and I planning to continue following you for a long time, I like the way you teach! :)
I've actually been having huge issues with how I feel about my natural voice. My natural voice isn't the style I like, and it kills me. I keep trying to alter it, but my vocals start hurting. This at least helped me recognise the problem, and I'm really thankful for that. I know this video can be really helpful for a lot of people, I even know people that I think would get something out of watching it. Sadly, I still doubt I'll be able to appreciate my natural voice...
You said Have a wonderful day... BUT THIS VIDEO IS WHAT HAS MADE MY DAY WONDERFUL...!!!
I was told that I have a song for everyone to hear.
So I'm taking voice lessons. And you are really helping me here.
Now I need to find the songs and genre that are best for my voice.
I taught myself how to use my natural voice in unique ways
Oooh I know this is long ago but do you have any tips
When you said hope you enjoy your voice, your voice is unique and special it makes me inspired thank you 😇...
I am a soprano but my speaking voice is really low and when i try to sing using my speaking voice it really strains my throat and hurts a lot but when i sing higher than my speaking voice i actually feel better. There are certain times when i'm speaking where i do go as high as my singing voice though. Is my speaking voice just too low? Or have i been singing wrong my whole life ;~;
h i l l r y same here
First, clear your throat. Second, try to find the key that is most comfortable. Third, do a type of genre of tone you want. Finally, practice to help your throat to relax.
h i l l r y same :v
Soprano is rare, if you can sing soprano, that is great! I am a lyrical myself and have a low voice when I am calm, but a high one if I yell :)
I've noted a lot of people who are dominant soprano think or hear themselves with a low voice because they hear the tone from their relaxed larynx but really are just speaking in the bottom end of that range which is using head voice. I recently watched Mariah Carey interview demonstrating whistle register and describing her speaking voice as low, but as she spoke, it was still at bottom end of high register. This doesn't mean that singers can't sing wider range and six octaves with the two extra whistle and fry registers... But their balance point is where their natural voice is and this will also drop with maturity. From the comments you make about when you try to sing low or in your low speaking voice it sounds as if you are trying to sing mixed or chest voice from head voice register. Often when we are kids, culturally as women and for other reasons we learn singing techniques that require us to use the classical intonation of voice which is great for developing pitch, breathing etc. but for women at least it focuses on head voice. If you are naturally lower you may have just learned, deliberately or unconsciously to sing in higher register.
I need a lot of work but after your tips, I believe I have found my natural voice. Thank u Freya!
Thank you for your help 😊
Freya ur voice is like an angel 😇
Man, I'm being taught almost exclusively classical music and classical technique vocally. I've essentially been told I could be a soprano, but I'd rather do literally anything else. I want to sing in more modern styles, I have a dark ass speaking voice, nor do I have a high speaking voice. I sing in bright operatic tones. I hate my singing voice in that manner.
I'm so trapped.
I know how that feels, I want to sing pop and rock. I used to be a man but now I am female, so I want to sing like a woman. I've come to the conclusion that I'm going with whatever voice I have been blessed, and bluff my way through songs, nothing new there! Good luck in your endeavour to love your voice.
Great....great.....super....job. beautiful and very useful for new comers.
Great tips, Thank you Freya!
Thank you for reminding me of truth!
Thsnks, Freya for this video.
I just discovered you and I'm already enjoying so much your videos. Thank you very much for sharing
Great video and channel. Helped me soooooo much. Thank you soooooo much.
I like ppl who can actually have different voices
That's an awesome talent ...
Which hides a lot of repetitions and trying mb
Elvis is my favourite singer. I can sound a big like him and deepen my voice and I’m not even American. I don’t know if it’s me trying to sound like him or my natural voice
Thank you! I never thought about it like that! Wow
Great video. Really helpful!

I have been trying to find my voice for years. Thank you so much for your advice. I was told i was told I was Soprano but it hurts my throat all the time, and I know how to control my air flow, from trombone playing. Now i know why I was always straining to sing those notes.
Thanks for this one,, I'm really lucky enough to have found this clip
You actually really helped me.I thought I was a pretty good singer but everyone told me I screeched when I sang 😂 So I wanted to work on it a bit and you actually helped me find my natural voice and I really can’t thank you enough!
Outstanding advice xx

Hi, there! I'm from Brazil! These are amazing videos! Thanks a lot!
I'm a girl and my voice cracks so much because of puberty, which is very rare, and i'm in musical theatre so it's a struggle 😕
thanks a lot this has been really helpful
I really love your vocal teaching i hope i may able to sing the phantom of the Opera
wow that really helped thanks
I have a contralto speaking voice, raspy. I sing mezzo soprano because I feel happy when I do. Point blank, do what you love and find a way to do it that benefits you and not harms you
This is very helpful. Thank you Freya, You're simply amazing. Much love
You're really talented, you should start doing tutorials for beginners.
Hi Freya, thank you so much for all this great information. we are suscribed to improve ourselves for our yoga classes.. Give us the chance to connect with you & the world. thanks again, namaste & much love
this is a gem. thanks!
I watched this because I couldn't seem to find my natural voice. No matter how hard I tried I only sounded like other people. If I tried I'd either sing too high or too low I'd get very frustrated. I'm positive this video will help me. I'll study every tip there is. Thank you Freya.
i discovered your channel a few hours ago, and i already watched a ton of videos hahah.
loved it!!!
you’re so nice and sweet :))
a great singer and a great teacher!!!
thank you!!
Superrrr correct all the details... Thanks alot....
During puberty, do you think my voice can be completely different after since I'm 14?
It really depends sometimes it will change only a little and other times it changes a lot.
it can stay the same if you practice..for me I practice anime songs everyday...and I can sing close to the same range of a female's high pitch
yeah puberty can cause changes, obviously if you're a guy it can be quite dramatic, for girls it can be subtle or dramatic depending on the person. The biggest thing I noticed after puberty (as a woman) was that the higher notes were more difficult for me. Your voice also continues to change and mature as you age gradually. My voice is lower and richer at 36 than it was in my twenties.
WAH! You're now 19🥺
@@charissenicole3882 haha, Yes. I’ll be 20 at the end of this month!
Thank you so much ❤️
Thank you ありがとう 감사합니다!
dose it mean I should not sing head voice if my natural voice is low?
I was trained to sing high, but my speaking voice is low.
This video is gold .. THANK YOU!
Thanks for the good advice. It confirms what I discovered recently, I do my best when I sing music in the range and tempo that is suited to my voice. I can sing some bass, but not super low and the same goes for high notes. It is best to sing in the range of our voice. I also do not have a vehicle and get around by bike, including hauling groceries home. My cardiovascular strength is great, and I can sing longer wihout strain and can hold notes as long as some professional singers. My tip is get in good cardiovascular and muscle condition to help improve your singing.
Just 🧨 !!!
Thanks for sharing.
These video in a line :sing naturally ❤️😉
1. Whenever you sing and pick a key for the song youre singing pickt rhe key that is close to the range you normally aing in a song gors high and low however it has some notes that
Thank You, Very helpful!
