I still don't understand how a fly can Mission Impossible it's way into a barely open window, but somehow keeps crashing into the glass when I have literally opened the balcony door for it.
same. my window is closed, got a thing in front of it so they cant enter even if its open and they still get in.

I don’t have a good answer but I would assume the struggle to get unwanted bugs and creatures out of a door is because smaller areas are easier to hide in. A larger, open area would make less sense for something to retreat to if it is being chased. As for the glass, I have no idea. Maybe they enter easily because they are following some smell or sight and have a path in but none out?
The reason for that is because when bugs try to get inside your house they just follow the heat coming out of it, meaning they can easily track every crack because it emanates heat. When they try to get out however it's not that easy because there is no clear path of heat coming inside the house that they could follow

I don't feel bad about pests/infestations (e.g. a trail of ants or fruit flies), but if it's a lil lone pincher bug buddy or beetle friend I just put them outside. They're just at the wrong place at the wrong time and they don't deserve death for that. Spiders however I just move to their own territory inside as they are my ally in bug defense 😆 we coexist peacefully.
If you feel bad then, assuming the bugs aren't infesting your home, just don't kill 'em my dude

Makes sense; an insects simple mind finds our artificial environments utterly alien. A moth for example, uses the moon to orient itself, but cant understand that a lamp is not the moon.
