Logitech is just trying to make it more complicated for people who buy the mouse to repair if anything goes wrong, I currently have an g502 hero and I had a problem with the Chinese omron left click switch, they offered to send me another mouse but that won't solve the problem just a temporary solution until same happens to the new one, in the end I ordered Japanese omron switches and replaced them, I'm really happy now that I fixed it and I know that it most likely last longer now
@@friendsRfor773 I understand what you're saying but it's not a firmware or software issue, it is a phiysical issue within the mouse, you can't just update and expect a physical issue to disappear, the only way of doing it is by repairing the mouse
My G502X Plus started having double-clicking issues on the lower thumb button after 14mths of use. Really disappointed with this. Apparently I've heard that only the top left/right buttons are optical. The rest are crap. I'll be getting a replacement soon. However, when the warranty runs out, I believe I can solder out the switches with the Japanese ones?
Feels painful as an owner of G502 X Plus, but also interesting for knowing inside of my mouse. Logitech made this mouse really durable, but lighter even they added the size of the battery.
@@ThePhoenixdive Which button was double clicking? Mine is a year old and fortunately no problem other than the battery goes 100-90% real quick (in a minute) but then it lasts two weeks before needing a recharge.
Yeah... I have a feeling that most people won't bother disassembling these just to clean them... I really hope these mice don't collect a lot of dust and hair 😅
Hi Bob! Great video! I was wondering if you know if its possible to replace those new optical mechanical switches with kailh mute switches(2 pin) or any other switch on the market? I see that those switches have two smaller pins in addition to the two larger one and I have a feeling that any new switch wont work unless you have a switch that uses all four, is that true?
I know, too late It possible to use 2pin switches, other 2pins not functional and point of button same on 2pin / 4pin switches But idk what I can use to replace small side switches
Hello I have a question whether the main keys from 8:48 are the same as in the older version of G502 or are they different. In mine, I accidentally caught it and it broke in half on the left side. Maybe you have any idea where I can get these keys.
New feet are PTFE (with layer of harder plastic - that black layer), they are improved from the previous versions. That crap on the bottom is for structural support, since they saved more weight making the plastic thinner, it was worth it to make those supports. 5 minutes in and you lost any credibility.
hola!! dejo de funcionar el cursor en mi mouse! funciona todo pero no el cursor! ya hice todas las pruebas pero continua el inconveniente! sabes que pudo fallar? lo tengo hace 4 meses
You mentioned that the scrollwheel is the same as the G502 hyperspeed. is it possible to replace it with the metal scrollwheel and its compatible? I actually like the old G502 scrollwheel's inertia feel when scrolling than the new one. Thanks!!
Unless you need to change it for the "feel" and more grip on the scroll wheel, the new plastic one is better. The old metal scroll wheel was just too heavy for the plastic mechanism that is used to tilt left-right (If you use it a lot it will eventually break no mater how careful you are). So, better keep current updated plastic scroll wheel.
Up, I’m also looking for this mod as I really like the metal scroll wheel which gives more travel/inertia while scrolling when using in the work like scrolling through thousand of codes and daily web browsing.
@@jerome5969 I did mine, it's not 100% compatible as you will lose scroll wheel's downward click but you'll still have the side clicks. I don't use the downward click that much, so I find it ok. I like the feedback feel the metal scroll wheel has. Also, for anyone who just planning to do a tear down, I would be doubly careful with the RGB ribbon when disconnecting from the bottom plate. It looks like it's very easy to tear at the connector end part.
Maybe a weird question but what's the part number of the Main left and right mouse button switches? I've been trying to find them in other videos but no luck :(.
Looking at the complexity of these mice I think I got my wired 502X pretty cheaply at $74 in Europe 😂 Yes, I know the wired is a bit simpler. I was looking to see if I can make the left/right buttons a bit lighter.
Let's say that I want to make it more lightweight by removing the battery. Do you know if it would still work via usb cable? and before stating the obvious: "get the wired one", the wired one does not have RGB, nor is the cable easily replazable. Thanks in advance for your response.
Everything good friend? This is André from Brazil. I really like your channel and would like to ask your opinion. I purchased a G502x plus and it worked for 8 months, I activated the Logitech RMA and received another one that worked for 3 months, both in this case the button clicks stopped working. So, searching online I saw a post from a Reddit user saying that putting the Mouse in the fridge freezer for 5 minutes would work again... I did it and it worked on the 02 mice I have here G502xplus... However, it works for about 40 to 60 minutes and stop again. Could you say why this happens? Does it suggest a solution? Open and clean for example? Hugs!!!
You can put the g502x wheel in the your old g502 if you want. I just did the opposite(g502 hero wheel into the g502x) as I prefer the older wheel. I didnt move the whole wheel assembly into the other mouse, instead I just moved the old wheel(G502 hero) into the new wheel assembly(G502x).
