I saw this tour in the summer of 81 in Tulsa,it was advertised in the paper as a 3-hour show and it was. It was the best concert I've ever seen. What a full sound you can have with a both handed keyboard player and four voices.

Pity Todd (with or without Utopia) was seen as a "regional act" and otherwise underpromoted by Bearsville. But if you lived anywhere from Jersey to Illinois, he was a monster. Bob Seger suffered pretty much the same fate until Live Bullet took off in El Lay in '75. (How many bands have I seen that were plain dynamite live...? Hell, even Van Halen went unnoticed for years.)
My older brothers played Sonethingt/Anything album and a True Wizard A True Star 🌟 all day and night I love every song Todd sings My favorite is The Last Ride I saw him in concert such a blessed artist I really enjoy when he hooks up with Daryl Hall they harmonize so Kool ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Listen to Todd's interviews and I am afraid has lost touch with the emotion he drew out in people, way back - he thinks of his own masterpieces as formulaic - but I bet Jerome Kern would have said the same thing Todd doesn't even mention his own high-minded lyrics, I suppose because his reading has never been for a college degree - nevertheless he arrived at Marrlowe,, Bacon & John Donne, recreationally.. Just heard Todd address love & metaphysics, using poetical conceit, with Metropole Orchestra 2012. All in the opening 2 tunes.
I'm not sure. In an interview he did in February of 1981 he said He'd probably still be using the Fender Mustang if it wouldn't have been stolen. Perhaps that was the only Humbucker equipped guitar he had as a backup at that time.
@@patrickthometz6365 Yeah His Black Mustang that he used on stage along with the Alembic was Stolen. He says so in the interview. He had a couple of White Mustangs he used in the studio but they burned up in a warehouse fire the mid 80's

He may be somewhat of a liberal, but he is a really nice person and none of ever check the identical boxes, but it doesn't mean we can't enjoy the world of beautiful music he has created. Nobody ever came close to Todd for truly revealing and deep sentiments.
